shes great... exams are tough but thats why you should study one week ahead (thats what I did to get an A) you can't expect to study it all in one night with so much material... interesting class :)

Dr.cavallo is an amazing teacher. I have never had a teach who cared so much about his/her students. She always answered my questions during office hours, by email and even when she did not have office hours, she would come in for me to help me out. also, before the exam, she would make herself available to students. Great class and professor!!!

I had her for bio 140 and 141! Shes an AWESOME prof. I emailed her so much about a couple of concepts I needed help on and she emailed me right back. She is truly an amazing professor. Her exams are fair so study her notes and the textbook as well. Usually the second midterm for both the classes are harder than the first but the final is easy

Her email response time is actually scary- as a test a bunch of us emailed her late on a Saturday with complex questions covering most of the material, and each had a clear response within about 4 minutes. Her tests are hard but she offers to sit down with you anytime and go over things again! Very approachable and overall amazing.

By far one of the best teachers I've ever had. SO cool to have a prof that can answer *every* question a student can throw at her. Unfortunately I'm going to have to drop her class because it was my first biology class ever and I had hard time studying, but that's my fault-- not hers. Definitely going to take the class again next semester.

She is very nice and helpful and willing to answer any question. Exams are from her slides,60-70 percent material is directly from the slides. Her exams are not so easy but you learn lots of new concepts from her class. Overall she's a great professor and you will definitely get a decent grade if you attend her lectures.

Dora was an amazing prof, very clear and made me interested in the content. But she was hard, her exams are still in my nightmares till this day. I ended up with an 82 and 91 in her first and second semester courses only because I studied for a week straight before every exam. Most of my friends and peers did horrible in the class, DON'T memorize!!

If you have Dr. Cavallo then you are very lucky. She explains the material in a clear manner and her slides follow the textbook very closely. I highly recommend you get the textbook if you are in her Biology 141 class, as you get more out of the lecture if you read the chapter beforehand.

Lectures are long and fast-paced which can be confusing for 1st year students. Reading are lengthy and hard to keep up with. Course material is a lot, and with other classes it can be hard to be fully knowledgeable for the midterms and finals.

You're straight out of high school (or currently researching about your soon-to-be profs) and you don't know how to study efficiently. If you want to be absolutely sure of getting a 100, go through EVERYTHING. Chances are you're not going to have time for that. STUDY THE SLIDES. Make note of the extra material she says in class. She honestly made me want to drop out. SO MUCH CONTENT I felt like my brain was overloaded with material. Keep up with your readings. GO TO CLASS or FAIL. She's kind and genuine. If you're strongly motivated and driven, you will be able to obtain 90% and above in her examinations (midterms and exams for both Cell Bio and Biodiversity).

Here's how I did it: Attend classes & pay attention, write everything she says next to the slides(record if necessary), midterms and exams are exactly what she says in LECTURE AND THE SLIDES(book not necessary except for DIAGRAMS), review what she covered in lecture the day she taught it. A lot of her questions on midterms come from there. If you're planning on taking biodiversity, be prepared to memorize the entire evolutionary tree in details.

She's tough, but she's good. Her lecture slides are very similar to the textbook, so unless you are having issues with a certain topic, you don't need to read the textbook. She is SUPER helpful in office hours and is very caring. You really need to know you stuff when writing her exams. You'll need to know WHY it happens, and not just memorize it.

I wish Dora could teach me every subject! She does amazing lectures and you can tell she puts lots of hard work into them. I did well in this class by going to every lecture, typing EVERYTHING she says, going home the day of lecture and re-studying the material/make notes and flashcards. If you work hard and keep up in her class, you WILL succeed.

Don't buy book. Go to lecture and type what she says and examples she gives. Only those are relevant the textbook useless, just follow her slides and make notes from lecture. Just be thorough with the slides even studying all the diagrams and pictures with labels that she has on slides. I've gotten 95-100 all her midterms. Final is hard tho.

She teaches BIOL-1101 and BIOL-1111. Dr. Cavallo is an effective and gifted lecturer as she can convey material in Biology very well. The best that I've seen. Attendance is important because what she says in class clarifies a lot of her slides. I recommend studying for one week and a half in advance for midterms and two weeks for her final exams.

Very, VERY good lecturer. Has a great understanding of the course material (for both biodiversity and cell bio). If there is ever another proffesor, choose her. I suggest going to every lecture and typing/writing EVERYTHING that she says if it's something new to you. Difficult midterms and final, but you will adjust. Study hard and ask questions.

100% the best prof I had 1st year! The course isn't easy, but she teaches it well. To do well you have to pay attention, just the slides aren't enough, but textbook is not needed whatsoever. Great prof. Tricky multiple choice, and midterm 2 was much harder than midterm 1, so study up.

Very nice professor, does a very thorough job at explaining challenging concepts. The only comment I have is that the midterms and exams are a lot of critical thinking so make sure to read the textbook and know your information. Don't skip class because she explains well beyond what is on the slides and make sure to write every comment down.

I had Cavallo for Cell Biology completely online. I was warned that she was going to be super hard and crazy but honestly her tests were fair and the content was really well explained. I memorized the sizes and seemingly did good in the class. She also posts chapter practice questions which helped alot!

This prof was an excellent lecturer and passionate about the material. Only downfall were her lack of detail on the lecture slides, combined with incredibly detailed test questions.

Dr. Medved's online lectures, and overall format of how she presented her information, catered very well to students just entering university from high school. There were no lectures you had to previously watch before attending her designated time frame - she taught during the lecture, allowing for questions to be asked and topics to be explained.

midterms are much easier than the final exam BUT you wanna make sure you study equally as hard for all three of them. some questions are purely from her lecture slides while others are more application questions. additionally, some of her questions take a while to read so make sure you utilize your time wisely.

Professor Cavallo is an amazing teacher. She really puts in the effort to teach the material and is very helpful when you ask questions. She gives no homework, just 3 exams ( + labs) for the whole term. Dr. Cavallo was the star prof of my first term at UWindsor. She is an amazing professor and shows passion for the topics she teaches. She was very engaging, and it always felt like she was reading my mind by answering my questions with her slides right after I had them. To do good in her class, make notes of what she says and study her slides.

Dora is a very well-spoken professor and her tests are relatively fair (mostly from PowerPoints and some from the textbook). I highly recommend to take her class because she thoroughly explains each chapter of the course and she has always been prepared and organized every single time I attend her lectures. Dora is my favourite teacher by far.

Dr. Cavallo gives wonderful lectures, would highly recommend taking notes. The textbook is not mandatory but I found myself reading it to gain a better understanding in the ladder half of the year; it was helpful when needed. She sums up everything in lectures though. Exams can be tough, study hard. She will gladly explain things after a lecture.

The class would certainly be much harder to endure if Dr. Cavallo wasn't the professor. She's a great lecturer with exhaustive knowledge and is very fair in what she expects. Use her slides to study + chapter questions. There are two midterms + a final and very easy weekly labs + a final lab test. Her GAs/TAs are great too, so that's a bonus.

Lectures are very organized and she explains things very well! Going to class helps a lot because the stuff she says is better than what is just on the slides she posts. Dr. Cavallo was my fav prof. She clearly explains concepts and makes lectures worth going to because she doesn't just read off of a powerpoint word for word. Midterms/Exams are difficult I won't lie. Dr. Cavallo teaches in a way that is easy to digest. Her exams are brutal, and are a lot more difficult and specific than the exams you see in chem, physics. Do not expect a grade above a 80% if you study her lecture notes. M1 and M2 where easy, but the final was rough. Final will likely kill your mark so prepare well for it, and do well on M1/2.

ATTENDANCE IS A MUST!Take every notes whatever she says.The final was brutal as there were 140 MCQ.Don't just read her slides especially for final cause everything in the question comes either from books or whatever she says during lectures.Use slides only after reading the chapters from book. Lab is a waste of time its an easy mark so dw about it.

Never skip her lectures she says SO much things that aren't on the ppt. Her exam is a bit tuff but she does give 25 percent of the class based on labs and so that 25 percent is an ez 100. Her midterm avg was 69, 65 and exam was 61 but in all of them someone got above 95. She does ask sometimes specific questions but you can get a good grade overall

I loved having her as a prof. She cares about your success, and is willing to help you, when needed. Always go to the lectures, she'll explain what's on the slide, AND adds on more information that isn't on the slides. Her midterms and final exam are rough. Make sure you start preparing and studying for it weeks or even a month beforehand.

She is possibly the most clear to hear professor in all the first year classes. Really knowledgeable but you do need to attend to fill in the blanks in her presentation slides. For her midterms you do really need to know everything. Not just a general understanding where you could explain, but everythingggg down to the little details.

Dr Cavallo was my second best professor in first semester of first year. She has amazing lectures with a lot of diagrams as well. Very clear to understand and really explains her lectures. Midterms are okay if u study hard and review her lectures. Her labs are okay as well as well as her lab quizzes. Overall, I would give her a 5/5.

Midterm 1 very easy. Midterm 2 slight increase in difficulty. Final was relatively difficult. If you want to succeed in the course GO TO LECTURE and start studying early! The textbook is unnecessary. Know everything on the lecture slides and pay attention to what she says. Save yourself some stress; do not worry about labs, they are for completion!
