I heard she is going to teach a lecture class, I would suggest taking it. She is really friendly, gets along with everyone, doesn't mind a joke here and there. She is really good at making study guides and going over them. She always says there is more to life than biology.

Science is not easy for me in general, but Professor Engel puts biology in simpler terms. The labs are so much fun with her, and her lectures wake you up. She also takes time with you if you don't listen to anything. I took her summer course, which is very fast-paced, but she's really patient with her students. DEFINITELY take biology with her.

I didn't think biology would actually be kind of fun. Engel made me better understand my lecture notes with simplified explanations. I hate lab manuals, but I actually didn't mind this one. She's honest, down-to-earth and entertaining. If you do fairly well, come in on time, behave and are respectful...she will be quite lenient.

Prof. Engel was a great teacher. I hate biology and dreaded this class beforehand, but she made the class interesting. This turned out to be one of my favorite classes. When I took her for double lab, she really explained the labs well and seemed very motivated and helpful, even after 4 straight hours of class. Her background in a establishing a fertility clinic really showed because she understood the labs, the chick and starfish labs, especially. From her own description, she's hard in lecture.

Her tests are easy if you study for them. She is very clear on what we need to kno, explains everything, not boring. She gave us 20 points of extra credit. There are 4 exams of 50-55 questions and an optional final. If the grades are too low, she will add a couple of points. I liked her because she is a very nice person, and I recommend to take her

She is such a nice professor and will work with you if you need it!!! She gives a lot of extra credit but be prepared to type them. Attend all her classes becuase you never know when she will give attendance bonus'.

I love this lady! She knows there is more to life than BIO sometimes, totally understanding and helpful, kinda looks like reba mcintyre, but younger, has a sense of humor, so much fun! I wish I had her for lecture too. Just go to class, it's not bad and you will always be helped.

Great prof! i didn't attend a single lecture (i didn't get the 15 BONUS points she passed out for students being present) and i still earned A's because she uses alot of power point, so just READ the chapters from the book and then follow her notes and you will earn an A for sure. She wants people to do good and passes out a lot of Bonus points!

Great professor. Took the winter course and it was a lot of work, but Professor Engel gave out a good amount of bonus assignments to help with grades. Tests were very fair also.

She is really nice. I took her for the winter session, and she gave us clementines one day, waters another day, and edemame another day. You really don't have to pay much attention in class to do well. The answers to all the assessments are online on some massachusetts high school web page. She is WAY better than the other nutrition teacher.

Took the class online, no extra credit assignments as others have stated (might be for in person only). She did end up dropping the 2 lowest quiz grades we had, and some other favors in terms of grading though. Extremely passionate and knowledgeable about what she's teaching - which is great.

She is a fun Professor with abundant knowledge on the subject. She tries to keep class interesting and fun and is always looking for new ways to involve the students. If there is something you don't understand, she'd be happy to help you through it.

Had Prof. Engel for Nutrition. Please keep in mind that this is a science class so you do have to do work. She is great! She makes class fun and is very nice. As long as you attend class, pay attention, review her power points and do the work assigned there's no reason you can't get an A with her.

I took Prof. Engel's Intro to Nutrition class online, as my first class back after a long break from college. This class is a science class so you must study. The class is structured in a way that allows plenty of time for assingments. You can get an A-B in this class if you approach it like a science.

Great Professor. Discussions were engaging and the assignments and tests are easy if you read all the information she hands out. Can be a lot of material to keep up with but its not a very demanding class and Prof. Engel is very nice about giving additional info. even so far as to give answers if you go online before a test. I took nutrition with her and thought it was very interesting. It was a good bit of work for her class, but if you complete all assignments, you can earn a good grade. I took this class on line and I have to tell you that you better be ready to study hard if you want to get an A. There are 3 assignments, 2 Tests along with a Quiz every week and a Discussion plus two mandatory responses. It is interesting class but the info could be overwhelming. Prof. Dorelle is passionate about her class.

I really enjoyed this class. She can ramble on sometimes, but her points are pretty clear. She is a biology background so sometimes she goes into to much detail about that. This is one of my favourite proesffors I've had at MC. She was very helpful and very informative. She keeps the class engaged and focused by using stimulating activities on occasion, playing videos pertaining to the subject and preparing you when the video will be boring. The tests could be a easier, but majority of the answers are covered in class

Ms. Dorelle was helpful through the semester. She gives clear expectations and listen to her students. I missed classes for two weeks because of family emergency, but she did manage to provide me with the material to catch up. She is also concerned by her students success. I strongly recommend her.

Super nice and gives lots of bonus points. Exam reviews are online and she basically gives you the answers. Just pay attention and take notes. The exam reviews are what she writes her exams on so try to understand the concept of each bulletin so you're ready to answer any kind of question relating to it.

I took this class in the Spring with Professor Engel. Honestly, my life changed because of Dr. Engel... I didn't go to the first few weeks and she actually reached out to me. I wanted to work hard at this class cause she didn't let me fall by the wayside. I've lost 30 lbs and weigh just under 200 now. Its a class for school but a course for life!

I took an accelerated NUTR 101 with Prof. Engel. It was certainly a difficult class, but she made her easy. She gives numerous extra credit opportunities. Because it was an fast-paced class, we were under too much pressure. I recommend students to take her normal class instead of fast-paced if you cannot take too much pressure though I got an A. :)

I needed to take a nutrition credit for nursing programs, and Professor Engel was helpful, caring, and invested in my learning. Although I got a C in the class, Professor Engel resulted to be such a patient and helping professor. I took Nutrition online and throughout the semester I had to leave back home and she was really understanding about it. I took NUTR 101 with Pr. Engel and she was a great professor as well as the person. She would always stay 10-15 mins after the class to answer all the questions and was always easily accessible outside the class. Getting an "A" in her class, I can definitely say that it is possible!

I enjoyed Prof Engel's online nutrition class. I was lucky to take her last summer online class for Nutrition. All the rumors you hear about online classes are true especially for this one. I can only imagine how it is during a regular semester with the level of content you have to study and review. With this being said, PREPARE TO WORK FOR AN A!

Prof. Engel wants her students to succeed! She is kind, caring, and dedicated towards her students. I asked her to write a letter of recommendation for me and she did it with such short notice and such busy schedule. Also, she has taught me things that have stuck with me forever, because of her, I now know how to properly read a nutrition label.

Professor Engel gives every opportunity to succeed in this class. There is alot to learn, but she only teaches what she feels is important to know.

Recipe for the easiest A you'll ever get: TAKE ANY BIO CLASS B/4 TAKING THIS CLASS! Besides the stuff you know from Bio101+, this class is a breeze. Prof. Engel was really fun and easygoing. She did give quizzes right after some lectures and homework is basicaly busy work, but plenty of EC opportunities. BTW, Wordings on test Q's can be confusing.

This class is pretty heavy. There are about 3 exams, lots of mini quizzes, and the final; they're all pretty difficult. If you don't follow up with the reading you will drown in this class. Dr. Engel does all she can to try and help her students with this fast-paced class. She is always available to help all her students and even will call you to help you. The class is hard no matter who you take it with, especially if it is an online class, but she gives you so many chances to do extra credit work which can boost your grade a lot.

She goes over only the material we need to know for quizzes and tests which is really helpful. She gave plenty of extra credit all through the semester that really helps your grade out in the end. She is very nice and always reminds us of upcoming deadlines.

This class was a easy A if you pay attention in class and do all the extra credits!! In the end the extra credits really helped me. In this class she has 3 big exams and then mini assignments with every new chapter. The mini assignments are confusing but she still is a great choice if youre willing to put the work in!

Im not the best student and with Covid, etc. seemed much harder this semester. Dr. Engel really helped me through this and even provided helpful ideas to power through my other courses. A real life saver and nice person overall. The coursework requires the textbook but its an interesting read on topics I actually learned from / found interesting.

I too Professor Engel's nutrition class in the summer. It was understandably dense as we only had 6 weeks, however, Professor Engel made sure to give out a veritable boatload of extra credit. Most I've seen in any course. She is also very understanding and a charming and enjoyable lecturer. If you do the work it's impossible to get lower than a B.

Taking the accelerated course may not be everyone's cup of tea, but personally I enjoyed it a lot. I had a small class and since it was small the lectures felt more fluid and clearer. Though the lack of others in the class would also add to the overall class experience.

Took the DL accelerated summer course, honestly despite this being a science course, it wasn't too bad. Yes it was A LOT, and took time and dedication, but as long as you keep up and study, you'll be fine. The professor gave out A LOT of extra credit, which really helps! I love taking NUTR101 with Professor Engel. I managed to get an A by completing many extra credit assignments she gave. Make sure you READ the textbook when you are in a new topic, it will make you comprehend her presentation much better.

Prof. Engel is very passionate and knowledgable about the subject and that shows in her lectures. As long as you are on time to class and show that you care she helps out a lot and even gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. She really wants her to students to succeed and that shows. I highly reccommend her.

There is a lot of information taught at once which can be overwhelming. Her lessons move quickly but she is a good teacher and always gives extra credit opportunities. She makes slideshows for every lesson which students have access to, very helpful!

Nutrition is a pretty heavily dense, but she explains the information pretty well in her lectures. There's also tons of extra credit, and she lets you have a cheat sheet on the exam! For attendance there's an in-class quiz (1-3 sort of easy questions) where you can communicate with people around you. Overall, I had a pretty good experience!

Prof. Engel makes this class as easy as she can. She provides many opportunities for extra credits and in-class quizzes to keep the class as interactive as possible while boosting your grade. All lectures are accessible on blackboard and if you email her she'll respond promptly. I'm not a science person but I enjoyed learning in this class.

Professor Engle is a great teacher. A model teacher even, as she is literally on the home screen of the Montgomery College website. She gives lots of extra credit to supplement the exams, however if you pay attention and take notes in class you wont even need them. If you put in effort she will recognize it.

Professor Engel was great. Around 55 extra credit points to boost your grade. 2 exams and 1 final. The exams were a little hard but not impossible. She also lets us have a cheat sheet on exams. Funny at times.

Professor Engel makes the class one of the most passible classes I have ever taken. She's clear in her topics, doesn't read of the slides, and gives examples on the topic. Crazy amount of optional extra credits. Exams were exactly on the material (slides). I recommend taking her! but don't think you can breeze through it; hard work matters too.

Loved her class! Class is interesting if you like science and the slides are exactly like the exam. Do the work and come to class, you should be good. Extra credits are nice. There is a decent amount of group work but easy.

My advise to you if you want to pass this class is to attend all lectures.She gives lots of extra credit which is good if you're not so good at sciences,also listen to her instructions on blackboard I got a C and I'm happy with that grade because I used to be an F student,matter of fact my first exam i got an F

Took professor Engel summer nutrition class and didnt regret it. Though it was alot of reading and assignments( which is normal for all summer classes), she made sure to remind us of important due dates and uses the calender to help us keep track of assignment. she replies to emails fast and is always ready and willing to help if needed.

online summer science. fast but managable. Very nice prof. She made interesting. answers emails right away. Organized, even tho lots to do, she sends emails and its on the calendar. Do everything to do. Tons of extra credits. Do them all, they help get it and raised me a grade up! Take her!

Took this during Summer 1 accelerated. Lots of work as it's fast paced but manageable. She replies to her emails very quickly, sends out reminders, and LOTS of extra credit. the extra credits helped my grade go up, do them! cheat sheet also allowed on exams.

Professor Engel's NUTR101 class is manageable with the right approach. Lots of extra credit opportunities and helpful resources like Unstuck study make this an engaging class.

Loved this professor! Engel has exam reviews that say what to know and practice questions. She repeats things alot. Was not as boring as I thought but you have to study. Every class attendance quizes. Alot of extra credit which helped my grade. Take her!

prof engel is great! She was the nicest! Class isn't that hard lots of extra credits. Just study for exams and do the other work but if you're a slacker it won't be as easy

I took professor Engel for spring 2025 and let me tell you, she is amazing! She's such a sweet and caring professor. There are MANY extra credit opportunities to help you raise your grade if you need it. She also allows cheat sheets for exams! I would recommend professor Engel to anyone.

She gives tons of extra credit opportunities don't take them for granted. She covers the topics well and the exams aren't so difficult. (She allows you to bring a cheat sheet to help!) Take notes, use her study guides, do the assignments, and you'll be good. She's also a very nice person so go to her office if you ever need help.

Professor Engle's Summer I accelerated course was a great experience. Her clear instructions made everything easy to follow. Quizzes and discussions were weekly, and the two exams were very manageable if you keep up with the readings. She responds quickly, gives generous extra credit, and truly cares about her students. Take her class!

She was a great professor. Do the work and enjoy the class. Very caring.

She's always there for students. She's really flexible. Exams pretty hard but gives opportunities to get a good grade from homework and quizzes and extra credit. Take advantage of that. Attendance mandatory because sometimes has quizzes at the end of class that are only open at that time and counts as attendance. Good overall and would recommend.
