Dr. Bowers is all over the place. Her lectures skip from one thing to the next in absolutely no order at all. Her tests reflect the LECTURES much more than the book, so if you miss class, you're done. But you should read just to understand. Seems easy at first, but the tests are ridiculously hard. Lab saves you. You will never get help from her.

The only good thing I can say about Dr. Bowers is that she is not a tough grader. Other than that, she is rude, demeaning, and DISORGANIZED. Microbial is not a prereq, so i didnt take it first, but she referenced it constantly. She goes through her disorganized, terrible notes extremely fast, and does not put them online so good luck keeping up.

I took Dr. Bowers for Gen Bio lab, and I really liked her. Although she can be all over the place, if you go to her office hours she's more than happy to help you out with questions regarding lab (or even lecture with another professor). She can test you patience, but if you read the lab beforehand and are ready for the quizzes then it's an easy A.

She goes way too fast during lectures and if you don't write them down you will never see them again unless you have a friend who wrote it down. She rattles on about nothing on the test and then you are tested on five chapters with no knowledge of what to expect or what is on the test. Definitely do NOT recommend, 10/10 would find a different prof.

There's no homework or quizzes, only 4 exams-she drops the lowest. Her lecture notes can only be obtained if you're in class -or from a classmate. Exams are based on notes AND BOOK!!
