AY CHIHUAHUA!!!! THAT IS ONE HOT MEXICANA. GOD IS GOOD. OH YEAH, SHE'S A GOOD TEACHER TOO!!!
She's so nice & sweet. She's a pretty cool person. Ella es chido!
Very nice teacher. She's helpful and explains things pretty well.
She's so great! I had her as a teacher when she first began at A. I. duPont High school. She left after her 2nd year there to have her baby and before returning the U of D offered her a job. She moved on with her occupation at the next level. She's young, funny, petite, from Pueblo. If you want to learn spanish and make a friend, she's for you!
I had professor Manzano over winter session. She is really laid back and a good teacher. She will stay after class to help the students if they need it. Very accomodating and fair with grading. She wants to see everyone do well. She doesn't play any tricks or games. Real straightforward
Really nice & pretty young lady. She is funny too & makes class interesting. There are so many grades in this class, so the tests aren't everything. I would definitely take her again.
Really good teacher. Very helpful and willing to wrk with yo whenever possible. She is very nice and i enjoyed her class alot. Don't miss more then the set amount of excused absence she will take a point off for each day missed beyond the excused absences days. Overall you should def take her class.
Very sweet woman. Native of Mexico. Wants everyone to do well. Always willing to help.
This woman is amazing. She is cute and funny and always knows how to make the class interesting. She is always willing to help and it is easy to get a good grade in the class if you just keep up with the textbook. The class has a daily routine which is pretty annoying but she knows how to spice it up!
Honestly, Doris is the one of the best Spanish teachers I have ever had. She is really helpful and very funny. She's native of Mexico but LOVES her gringos (Americans), including her husband and son. Cutest woman and very helpful. I would definitely take her again.
i absolutely love senora manzano! TAKE HER FOR ANY LEVEL OF SPANISH! she's so nice and funny and the class goes by fast. iLrn is tedious but every spanish class had to do it. easy A if you know youre spanish!
Prof. Manzano is an awesome teacher! Not only is she nice, but she very clear and easy to understand. She is also extremely organized. Do the homework. I highly recommend her.
I had her for 106 and loved her so much im making sure I take 107 with her! She gives you a lot of class time to work on the oral project and the oral exam. She plays spanish music when we work which makes for a fun class. She really loves teaching and is really good at it. If you can take her, do it! the class is really easy too. She lovess food!!
I found 106 to be a somewhat difficult class, but she is very helpful and such a nice person! She tries to make class interesting and will stay after class if you need help. She is very clear about what she expects on exams and assignments, also sometimes she forgets English words which is very cute/funny. I will def. take 107 with her!
Just finished my second semester of having her for Spanish- definitely my favorite professor at UD! She wants everyone to do well. She's a native speaker which helps, and she loves her gringos (Americans.) Sad that I'm not gonna have her next semester.
i love this woman! take spanish with her! the only bad thing about her is that she only teaches 100 level classes, if i could take every spanish class ever with her, i would!
She is very helpful and really does want her students to succeed. The tests are very simple and clear. She also gives you an outline of the test a couple of days before. Definitely take her!!
A very nice lady and one of the best Spanish teachers at UD (it is a shame she doesn't teach any upper level courses. She is helpful and often jokes lightheartedly, making class fun! Show up to class and participate...she will like you more if you do. the SPAN dept. makes the tests and they can be a bit tricky, but they aren't too ridiculous.
Professor Manzano was very helpful and easy. Tests were really basic, they didn't try to trick you. She gave us an outline of the test a few days before, and a review sheet the day before that was always very helpful. She is really funny and makes cute jokes during class. I loved her, definitely take her if you can.
Undoubtedly the best spanish professor or teacher I've ever had. She's a native speaker so not only is she well-grounded in the subject, but she's also hilarious! She is always more than willing to elaborate on more difficult subjects and answer any questions. There should be no reason you get less than an A, unless you're just bad at spanish.
An absolutely fantastic professor. If you are lucky enough to have her, you're not doing too bad in the world of Spanish106. And sometimes she brings her son into class and he's the cutest thing ever.
Professor Manzano is one of the best professors I have had. She is really interested in what she does and she explains things so everyone understands. She is extremely nice and shows much concern for her students. Take Her for every Spanish class if you can
AWESOME TEACHER!!! So nice and supportive, the BEST spanish teacher at UD hands down. Take her!
Had her for both 106 and 107, favorite teacher at UD. She's the nicest lady, and absolutely hilarious. Very interested in her students and wants to get to know you personally. She makes spanish very easy to understand and wants you to succeed. I would take her for all my Spanish classes if I could!
She is very sweet and a great teacher. Genuinely cares about her students
One of my favorite professors so far. She's adorable and hilarious! Class isn't very hard if you took spanish in high school. I'd definitely suggest taking her!!
She's amazing. I had her as a spanish teacher in high school and then she became my college professor!? yes. double yes she's amazing.
I went into Spanish dreading the experience and have grown to actually miss this class. She was my favorite professor at UD so far and made class enjoyable, fun and also helpful. Go to her office hours if you have questions, she is very approachable and wants everyone to do well. She turned Spanish into a class I, amazingly, enjoyed.
Don't recommend for the hybrid class. Turned in an online assignment 2 minutes late (I work nightscomputer probs), and she took off 30 pts on a major assignment even after I explained the situation immediately afterwards. Would've had an A, dropped me to a C. Sure she's great for non-hybrid Spanish though. She has a sense of humor and seems kind.
She's an amazing teacher! She is very helpful and wants everyone to succeed. She speaks in Spanish a vast majority of the time (as required by the department), but still makes all instructions very clear. Definitely take her for Spanish as much as possible!
Manzano is awesome. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants to see you do well. Obviously a lot of homework for SPAN courses but this is dictated by the department, not her. She is very helpful and a great teacher. Definitely recommend her!
Senora Manzano is a blast! She understands her language very well, and despite the language barriers, you can understand her. Make sure you take the videos seriously because that will make or break your grade!
Senora Manzano is the BEST! She is so sweet and you can tell she really cares about the success of her students. Homework is a must and so is participation but she is so much fun and makes class enjoyable!
Mrs. Manzano is AMAZING!!! Take her for spanish!!! She's so nice and so helpful! I'm not that great at spanish, but she is not a harsh grader and always wants her students to do well and always makes class enjoyable. I wish I had her for every class!
It's the typical work for a hybrid class. She's an easier grader and there are less assignments. She's really nice and funny. Would take again.
Attendance is mandatory. But the class is an Easy A. Love Manzano she is a great professor
hybrid class, no tests, online online quizzes and compositions, she is the best spanish professor ive had yet, she is super sweet and funny, class flies by, she genuinely cares about her students, wish i could take her again!! definitely take her if you can!!
Overall I really enjoyed this course with Senora Manzano. She is a great professor and has a very enjoyable personality. The class does require you do do a lot of work and attendance is mandatory but nothing is too difficult as long as you stay on top of things.
She is so fun to talk to and listen to. she loves her kids and integrates stories all the time which makes this class more interesting. Hybrid class so not hard but stay on top of your stuff. i despised spanish but she actually made having to take this class enjoyable! sweetest and funniest profe!
She is definitely the best Spanish professor I have ever had. I took her SPAN107 hybrid course as a freshman and it was not as intimidating as it seemed on paper. She works with you and genuinely wants you to do well. A decent amount of homework but nothing that requires too much thinking. Highly recommend Señora Manzano
best teacher I have ever had at UD. I'm horrible in Spanish but she is a great teacher and doesn't get mad or call on you if you're unsure of an answer. she makes you feel very comfortable in the classroom, wish I was able to take all of my Spanish classes with her!
Señora Manzano really cares about all her students. She usually sets strict expectations just because she has so many students to grade for, but she wants everyone to do well and understand the material. She answers questions thoroughly and often tells jokes or stories about herself and her family.
This class is fairly easy if you have background in the basic grammar rules of spanish. Manzano is literally the sweetest person ever. A lot of the work is done outside the class then in class you mainly practice speaking and go over homework. Attendance is mandatory
Profesora Manzano is the best! If you put the effort in you will do great. She understands how difficult it can be to learn a foreign language, and often relates her experience learning english to us learning spanish. If you have the chance to take her definitely do. She is so sweet and wants all of her students to succeed!
Professor Manzano is amazing! Take her for SPAN107 if possible. Her materials are super easy, attendance and participation counts. She's super friendly and easy going, exams are easy too.
Sra. manzano was a decent spanish teacher she made you put in some effort for the grade though. You had to do both textbook and online MyLab homework before each class and instead of video project had us do conversifi with spanish speaking students from other countries. She does grade heavy on attendence and daily quizzes though so just be prepared
If you took Spanish III in high school this class doesn't require much effort. The prof is super nice and funny and she really cares about the material and her students. Lots of HW if you do the hybrid version of the class, but it is not too terrible. Overall, a very solid Spanish teacher. No complaints from me!
*Hybrid Class* LOVED Profesora Manzano. Good English/Spanish balance in class. Assignments and constant use of language makes exams easy. Online days are just like studying vocab and conjugations. This class made you video chat with people from Mexico trying to learn English which was really cool. So made opportunities to succeed.
I love Sra. Manzano! She's funny and makes class fun. Took this as a hybrid which I liked. Quizzes every class and lots of homework which weren't too hard. Exams were okay, the video projects and writing assignments helped bring grades up. The video chats for hybrid also bring your grade up, you get full credit just for doing it. DEF RECOMMEND HER!
Señora Manzano is so nice and made Spanish enjoyable. She really cares about her students. There is a lot of work, but for a 107 level that is expected.
Manzano really cares about her students. You don't have to study much, but you'll do great if you study a little outside of class for exams. There are a lot of exams, but if you do the study presentations and study, they are very easy. You can get the a e-text book or the physical textbook, but it doesn't matter which. You do need it for homework.
Very sweet, very intellegent. Respect her and she'll respect you.
It's an introductory Spanish class, and she's a nice and caring professor, but there is a decent bit of work but as long as you do it and put the slight amount of work in you'll do fine.
I took the hybrid-class and I was nervous at first, but Prof Manzano is a great teacher! The material makes sense and, though participation really matters, she never tries to embarrass you when you don't know the answer. She's very understanding and kind and will always work w you. Lots of homework, 5 tests, 2 writing assignments and an oral exam.
I took the hybrid version of SPAN107 with Sra. Manzano. Exams are straightforward, and the compositions are graded leniently with extensive feedback. Simply reviewing the vocab and grammar topics from the book will be sufficient to do well. Classes focus on speaking and listening, and any practice during class will go towards participation.
You will mainly need to independent to understand the material. Manzano's syllabus even states something of that notion bc she won't actively help you. After I began struggling I sensed that she began this unwelcoming attitude, that lead to being discouraging. It was weird and disappointing tbh. Btw, there is no late work, curve, or extra credit.
LOVE HER. She is so amazing and really cares about her students. She is very friendly and always gives feedback. Need to attend all lessons and should write out the VHL notes. You need to memorize the vocabulary for the unit to pass the exams. Not too difficult if you took spanish in high school. so friendly, so amazing
Literally told everyone in the class to drop on the first day. No partial or late credit, no extra credit. Plus an insane amount of homework for a 100 level class. Unless youre really proficient in Spanish take someone else who will actually help you.
I'm latino & took this class bc I don't speak Span. I always struggled w/ learning Span 4 a variety of reasons, but I always noticed that the Span teachers I had expected me 2b an easy student. When i'd struggle anyway, they'd have an attitude w/ me & pretend I didn't exist. This prof was no diff! Except, from the jump she was no help. Waste of $!
She is a very nice professor, I am just terrible at Spanish so I struggled a lot. She doesn't give any extra credit though.
Professor Manzano is a nice lady but assigns a lot of homework, and she's a very tough grader and doesn't offer any extra or partial credit.
Worst Spanish professor I've had at UD. She is VERY hard to understand, talks extremely fast, and does not have clear grading expectations. No extra credit, attendance is mandatory or you'll lose points. Lots of homework and high expectations for oral communications and participation. Avoid at all costs if you care about your grade!
I am surprised about those 1 and 2 ratings! I have taken her and I can say she is great. Yes she mainly speaks in Spanish, but isn't that the subject. Participation is only a small percentage of your grade, I think 5 or so %, so why is that a complaint, I mean come on people. There is a lot of homework, I do agree with that.
I enjoyed her class. She is caring and respectful. Participation is important but it doesn't determine your grade. Lots of homework and yes lots of Spanish. I took the hybrid version. Just be ready and put the time into it.
Great class, learned a lot and worked a lot. She had us speak a lot in Spanish. I never enjoyed a language class but this was really challenging and then again surprisingly fun.
She was wonderful, very clear and help us speak Spanish. She is Mexican so we learned a lot from that country. She cares for her students and that was an extra plus for me. Great professor!
One of the sweetest professors I've had. She is very considerate and accommodating, and she makes class fun. Would 100% take a class from her again.
Take her class and work hard. You won't regret it!
She was great and really wants her students to learn and have a good experience. I enjoyed her class. She is also funny so that was a plus.
So kind and truly cares about her students. Homework is very very and exams are light if you pay attention in class. 100% recommend.
As much as I hated 107, Professor Manzano made it bearable. She is a great teacher (funny too) who really cares that you get something out of the class. There is a lot of homework, and participation is important, but as long as you do both of them and study for the exams and in class writings youll be ok.
Class was enjoyable and the grading was pretty easy. Review classes helped prepare for exams.
Profesora Manzano was super nice and cared about her students. I'm not a big fan of language classes but she made it enjoyable. Her reviews helped me prepare for exams well and she helped me whenever I needed. Theres a bit of homework but it's not super time-consuming. Exams are easy if you study. Midterm and final are oral exams that take 10 mins.
Profe Manzano has been a great professor. She is very sweet and also a very funny person that keeps classes entertaining. Her grading criteria is very clear so as long as you study for exams and do the online homework you will be fine. Def recommend and would take again.
She was amazing!! One of my favorite professors ever! I would love to take another class of hers. She is funny, a great professor, and cares about her students.
She is great! If you go to class and pay attention, complete the homework, and study a little bit for the exams you will do well in this class. Lots of talking to partners in class and attendance is mandatory. She has 2 oral exams but they're on zoom! Would definitely recommend her.
Great, she was great and very helpful. She knew what she was doing and lots of Spanish in her class. Take her, you won't regret it.
Very fun and interesting. Students are expected to speak and participate a lot. There is a lot preparation and work to do outside classroom but I learned a lot. Take her class.
Lots of work but good. In the end this class helped me get better. Profesora was very helpful and very clear with expectations. She definitely knows what she is doing.
Great professor and interested in her students. It was fun for a language class.
I always had problems with Spanish. I am surprised of how much I was able to speak by the end of the semester. She was very clear in her expectations.
She is such a great professor. So understanding and caring, and is really funny too. Attendance is mandatory, but I felt like the class would fly by. I've hated all my Spanish classes ever, but she made me actually do well for once and enjoy the class.
Professor Manzano is excellent. I've always dreaded Spanish class, but her classes flew by. She was so helpful and understanding, and actually helped me learn Spanish. She constantly encouraged any questions or concerns we had. Take her if you need to take Spanish!!!
Professor Manzano was such a great professor! I had to take up to SPAN107 for my major and I was nervous going into it but she truly is such a good professor. She really makes sure everyone in the class understands the topics. I totally recommend!
Her lessons and the homework are relatively easy to follow. I learned most of the material on my own through the textbook, so class time was mostly dedicated to reinforcement instead of introduction. She is always available and open to questions. Great class overall and I'm much more confident speaking spanish!
Profesora Manzano always checks in and will answer any questions we have; she has helped me improve my speaking tremendously! I transferred into her class during drop add and I do not regret it.
I loved Sra. Manzano. She is so sweet and always wants students to succeed. There are several written exams but they aren't too bad as long as you study the material. The oral exams are pretty easy as well just prepare with your partner. Would definitely recommend taking her class!
Sra. Manzano is the best professor I've ever had. She's incredibly kind and genuinely cares about her students. Fair amount of homework but not too difficult. Exams include speaking in Spanish but she's very helpful and pretty lenient with grades. Definitely go to class and participation is worth it. Easily the nicest and most caring professor.
Amazing professor! I would love to take a class with her again. She is very nice & funny & doesn't only speak Spanish at you. Grading is fair & lectures are engaging, requiring you to speak Spanish during most of it. There's a decent amount of homework though & usually due every other day but it is manageable. Just put in effort & you'll do well.
Very sweet. Not mandatory to participate in class, but she loves when you do. She will correct you if you don't say something right in Spanish, but she's very sweet and casual about it. Doesn't give extra credit because of the course policy, but she's a great person and shares funny stories here and there.
What an amazing professor truly! She absolutely wants everyone to succeed. Always willing to help. There was a bit of homework, but nothing too hard. Mainly speaking in Spanish, would correct you if wrong, but it's always a learning curve never made you feel bad about it. I can't recommend this teacher enough if you have to take it, def with her!
Loved this class! Professor Manzano made learning Spanish natural and easy. There was a significant amount of homework, but nothing crazy and always enough time to complete it. A lot of class is spent practicing speaking with partners, so participation matters. Overall just a great class to improve your Spanish with a professor who genuinely cares.
Super nice, middle of the road on grading difficulty, but definitely prepares you well for exams and oral exams. Same standards as all 3 intro spanish courses department wide and sticks to them. Sticks to textbook exercises, homework grades can bring you down.
