she's an adjunct but take her class n ure garantueed to get @ least a B in her class... if ure willing to work. she gives u all the notes u need for the class, n really keeps u on your toes. the final should be no problem if u can keep up wi her.
She is the math teacher you have always dreamed of. Extremely helpful and clear. Makes pre calculus fun. Very thorough and very concerned about students understanding. She prepares you very well for her tests and subsequent courses.
she is the best math teacher you can ever take. she makes you know the stuff and prepres u well. uhm... shes also very HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's very organized and makes you work a lot with quizzes and homework. Her tests and grading system is fair and she prepares you well for what will be on the exams.
she is one of the best math professor in ccny.she is very cute, hot looking also. she is very enjoyable, and makes you work hard but, it pays off. she is excellent, thats all i have to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are not gonna find a better professor than pichardo, she gives you the notes photocopied, she is available for after class help, pichardo is the best in the school hands down, oh yea fellas it wont be hard to stay awake in class she is very cute.
Pichardo is an excellent professor i would recommend her to anyone however, get ready to work hard. She is very persistent with quizzes and strict with homework. With pichardo as your professor you are bound to learn. Pichardo is smart and beautiful.
She gives her students a chance to pass the class.
Great professorr!! an very good looking hehehe.. gives a lot of hw's that are really helpfull for the students.!!!!!!

the best
Thee. Best. Math professor I've ever took in my life. I hated math until I met her. It's VERY easy to stay awake in class even if the lecter gets boring, SHE DOESN'T!! Extremely funny at times and inspires math as well as teaching it. The BEST...
a great professor no doubt! get ready for lots of home work and quizzes but be prepared to get at least a B

she is the best teacher in ccny. she explains evrything to you... she gives alot of homewprk and a quiz almost evryday but it is worth it. you will get atleast a b in her class
she's the best math professor in CCNY. If you want to get an A take her, the only problem is that her test are multiple choise but they are really easy don't be scare by them. She makes the class fun and interesting and she looks hottttttttttt.
if you want clear explaination & want an A, take her class.

She is the best. If you want to know precalc in your sleep take her.

She is a very helpful and nice teacher. She explains everything very easilY. It is easy to get an A in her class. If you really want to learn math, just take her.
Very easy professor as long as you stay awake in class and do homework everyday. Guys, if you want to stay awake in Math, you should definetely take Math with Pichardo. She's extremely sexy! The sexiest professor in CCNY.

She makes learning and understanding math concept very clear. SHe provides numerous math tricks, shortcuts, and new ways of solving problems. Dont be intimidated by the large amount of homework assignments and tests. There is a method to her madness (you learn more) Overall, good teacher.
Give this woman a calculus class please!!!!!!she kicks ass, the best math professor i have ever encounter, i learned with her all the math that i did not learn in 4 yrs of high school in 3 months. she is the best, best , best teacher, in ccny, cuny, new york city, new york state, the united states.
Do you homework, don't challenge her, she is the professor. She is married. You will pass her course easily, but homework is the key.
She is a great teacher. If you want to learn, do your hw, and attend classes, you'll get a good grade. I would recommend her to everyone. She make math understandable and gives out great handouts. By the time you finish the course, you'll do math in your sleep.
One of the best professors you can get. I took her in the summer preceding my first full semester in CCNY and she was absolutely great. I barely had to study and I aced everything. I actually remembered about 90% of the work for Math 201. Absolutely take her classes if you can.
i took her for 195 and 201 and she is the best math professor i have taken so far at city.. she really helps by explaining things clearly and making you do enough work in and out of class to understand what is going on. She will give lots of homework but YOU WILL LEARN EVERYTHING.. she is the best. Good luck on your leaning edeavors.
I hated this class when I first started because she came off really grumpy and insulting. As days went on, I've realized she really tried to help her students and screened out the lazy students from the ones who really wanted to try. She's very clear on her lessons but she gives a ridiculous amount of homework, that's the only thing about her.
Hard class, alot of work... but you learn.... and you are forced to do the work... its very time consuming.
She is one of the best math teachers. She teaches very good and explains everything well. She gives a lot of tests, but that's good, because if you miss up, she drops one. She cares for the students.
She is the best, she cares about her students alot of work but if you do it all you are sure to pass with a really high grade she is really strict and hard on her students but its for the best she can sometimes be intimidating but she is one of the best
You WILL learn in this class... but only if you put in the time. She demands alot of work, but if you do it, you will ace this class, and she will love you. If you can take her class (usually a night class) TAKE HER, you will not regret it. Plus, she's a hottie (oh, she's got a family already).
Teaching is not her strong suit. Piling on homework and rushing through explanations is her strategy. Openly criticizes people in front of the class. Frequently makes disparaging comments about studen abilities. For a 3 credit class, she assigns 10 hours of homework per week. She's often late to class, forcing students to stay late.
Fast paced, clear, a really great teacher. She does run consistently late. But she's also very generous with her time. (Staying after class scheduling reveiw sessions etc.)
Don't even bother to read the bad reviews about this professor. If someone fails one of her classes is because he/she did not do the homework. Do the homework and practice and I garantee you an A+ in her class. She might come late and make you stay for a few minutes but who cares, you will actually learn in her class.
She is fast paced but will stop if asked and explain a problem. I agree if you do the work you will be fine but you have to work hard. Just like anything else in life. She is funny, intelligent and made me understand math! my most aweful subject.
The best professor so far in my college career. Makes you work and makes you learn. She is really nice and is very very thorough with her work. Makes you work in class. Do your homework and you will get an A for sure. One of the best teachers ever. I wish i could take all my classes with her..... she is by far the best
easy to understand good teacher
nothing more, nothing less than was already said about her, work hard, do your part, she will do hers and you'll be fine
real teachers are born like this one. smart, attentive, dedicated, caring and look hot. lol.. this professor will make you do tons of hw but u will know how to "integrate everything under the sun" as she says "in your sleep" do your work, hw on time, pay attention and you will get an a or like me a b+, she still loves me though.. good luck.
This professor teaches with clarity and great understanding. She helps the students with the work and her tests are reasonable. She is a little fast-paced, but none the less, still a very good professor. Definitely recommend her especially for people having trouble with math.

My 2nd degree and this is the easiest math has ever been. Like they say, do homework, attend-LEARN.That Simple.PERFECT for younger/freshman students-she runs the class like a HS class i.e. stays on your ass to perform.Answers EVERY question to its conclusion.Students into math theory might be bored but the other 99.99% of us REALLY benifit - 4 *s
She's just the best...If all the ccny math professors were like her, math would have a "joke" for everyone..(just go to class, pay attention, do the work)-- you wont regret taking her!!!
Very wonderful professor! I loved her teaching style its really different, she is well organized and always on time! Take her if you have a chance she absolutely fair and you won't regret! :3
She is an outstanding professor. She teaches with clarity. She makes students practice those exercises that will be on exams. The result is students with good grades and knowledge of the subject. Perfection!
Very well organzited class, teaches the students as thou they were 8th graders because she teaches high school classes. She uses printable notes from the ccny site, and gives extra credit by students going up to the front of the class and solving problems. Take her if you can, very good teacher.
Great professor. Provides lots of notes and practice problems. Gives good explanations. You will definitely understand Math if you do her homework (she does assign a lot - but it'll only help you).
She can't teach, she doesn't really understand what she is doing! I don't know who rated her good because we don't use the book, we never learn. I hate sitting through her lectures, she is a high school teacher, she should not be teaching at City!
She's simply the best. Do your HW, you can get a 104 on the exams if you participate in class. take her if you can!
An excellent professor...you well and truly learn calculus in her class. She explains everything incredibly simply (not like the textbook) and heavily emphasizes practice: as a result, you learn exactly what you need to know and you learn it well. Old school style--no bs, just drilling drilling drilling. I really feel like I know integration now.
Gives insane amounts of homework that will make you understand the material. She's a high school teacher so no cursing, skipping class, etc.. She explains very clearly, but that's because she teaches AROUND the calculus many times, skipping the actual concepts of calculus. Riemman sums? RRAM, MRAM and LRAM? She threw that stuff out the window.
She is an excellent professor. She is very giving with her time outside of class. If you do all of your homework you will earn a high grade.
I don't know how the hell I got an A+.
She is the best teacher i have ever met.She explain everything in a pretty way and u can ask her anything at anytime and if you need help she would do everything to help u
Take calculus with this professor! Problem/practice based style makes learning a breeze! Very approachable and accessible with questions!
Worst Professor in the world, avoid her like the Plague !!! I got an A+ cuz Im SUPER SMART nawmean? My first A in college yay !
she is definitely not a good teacher. Please avoid her.
SIMPLY THE BEST.. PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEG. COMMENTS R LAZY. SHE MAKES U DO THE HW WHICH WILL SAVE UR LIFE LATER ON.. AND ALL THE NOTES THAT WE NEED FOR THE CLASS ARE ONLINE, WE CAN PRINT THEM ONLINE FOR THE CLASS SO WE DONT HAVE WRITE NON-STOP LIKE OTHER MATH CLASSES.
If you wanna learn pre-cal the take her. I got 99 in final because of her. She is superorganised.
Want to learn pre-calculus? Only choice you have is Taking math 195 with Ms Pichardo. Best Professor I have ever seen in my whole life. Super organized. Actually the department final is easier than her test. I had average 79 in her tests.I got 97 in final. You will learn what you need to learn.
best in ccny
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN CALCULUS 2 THEN YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT WITH MS. PICHARDO. SMARTEST PROFESSORS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. UNFORTUNATLY SHE IS PART TIME PROFESSOR. CCNY SHOULD OFFER HER MORE CLASS SUCH AS MATH 203,391,392. I AM SURE SHE WILL BE ABLE TO TEACH ALL OTHER MATH PROFESSORS IN CCNY. SIMPLY THE BEST.
Best math professor ever.
Very clear and prepared.
Excellent math teacher. HARD AS HELL, but very helpful. Her teaching method is crisp, perfect. She will sacrifice her time for her students(literally). This professor is really serious about doing a good job, she's amazing. I highly recommend her if you are serious about learning.
I waited for the summer to take her and thought '1 class for the summer...should be able to handle it' Wrong!!!! Tremendous amount of work but boy was it helpful. 1 huge flaw - terrible tests and harsh grading ex: tests are multiple choice so no opportunity for extra credit. Some questions may take long to solve and pick the wrong choice, tough.
Take her if you want to learn Calc 2. She'll really teach. Every professor has his/her bads and goods. Her bad is her hard tests as they're multiple choice and looong. Some problems may take awhile to do but pick the wrong choice or write the wrong sign and she'll kill you. No mercy. You may say to yourself frustrated "All that work for nothing."
Great proffesor. Only take her if your serious about learning Calculus. She will drill the knowledge into your brain. Gives an amazing amount of work and checks all of it. Her one drawback is her tests. Much too long. and her grading is very strict, so get your signs correct. She is always willing to help after class. Always answers questions.
She is an excellent professor. I've always enjoyed math, but she brought it to a whole new level. She gives a lot of work, but its really the only way to learn the material.
Great professor..lots of homework, hard tests, but you will learn alot.
Very good professor. Works hard for the class and expects the same from you. Make sure you do the homework. She makes her own notes. No need for textbook. The best professor I had to date. You WILL learn.
She is the best teacher ever.
She is a well prepared professor, and you would eventually become a well prepared student if you were in her class. Her exams are mostly multiple choice. People might think they just have to BS the multiple choice, however doing the multiple choice are harder than solvin the problem since there is no partial credit or mercy will be given. Take her!
Take her. the notes are very helpful and convenient for studying, she doesn't use the textbook. The homework is very helpful, even if its a lot of problems, practice makes perfect. the exams are not too challenging if you do all the homework. and she is very friendly and always willing to help. best teacher I had
This teacher is the best teacher at ccny! She is extremely helpful, and her class isn't difficult if you do all of her work. Overall, I recommend her as a teacher.
She is one of the best professors of math, mainly in calc 2. she's really helpful. she give a lot of work, but believe me it's worth the effort.
I did Calculus 1 five years ago at a different college. When I came in her class, I thought I had no chance. But her teaching style, her high volume of homework (which she checks), her quizzes, and exams, guarantee that you learn. I highly recommend, one of CCNY finest!
Very helpful professor, wants all her students to do well. Gives extra credit and drops worst quizzes/exam. Provides PDF copies of homework problems so you don't have to buy $200 book. Did all the homework and an easy A.
I hated Math, and my MAT195 class with Pichardo was my second Pre-Calculus class, and she made sure I learned. She does not use the book, and you don't need to buy it, for she has created her own clearer notes! There is A LOT of work, and her tests are hard, but you will do well if you study. I had to earn my B+, but I now love Math! Take her!
Well... I can't say I called her professor, because She was my high school Precalc/Calc AB teacher. She's the type of bad ass teacher that doesn't take nonsense and he main focus is that you LEARN. She's serious about her job and only want the best of you. With that said... do the work. STUDY and you'll pass. She makes sure you know your grade!!
Best teacher ever. She makes the subject transparent. Sure there is a LOT of work to do but really well worth it. Doesnt muddle homeworks with textbook problems- hand picks problems most relevent and designed to make you learn in the shortest amount of time. As long as you pay attention and do the hw, there is no way you wont understand the work.
One word that describes Prof. Pichardo: AMAZING!! :-)
Excellent
She is a great professor, gives alot of homework but in the end it is completely worth it. You will never need to study because of all the homework.
This professor is the greatest! BEST IN THE WORLD. LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD NEEDED! IF YOU CAN MAKE A HARD HEADED PERSON LIKE ME UNDERSTAND MATH!?!?! YOU DESERVE 1 BILLION DOLLARS! THIS LADY IS GREAT, I SAT IN THE FRONT BECAUSE SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. SHE CHECKED MY HOMEWORK, AND WAS DISPOINTED IN YOU IF YOU DIDN't DO WELL. SHE ACTS LIKE A HIGH SC
She gives alot of hw but it is worth it. You will learn to integrals in your sleep. If u do the work you will be fine and never leave anything for the last minute
I never actually had her for a teacher but she treated me like one of her own.
If you want to survive in life from lessons, this teacher is one of the most superb epitome of briefly explaining things in a way you can remember materials. Just make sure to do your homework or you will pay.
She gives A LOT of work, but after doing a million problems, you really get it. Shes great at teaching, and you dont even have to buy the tb because she scans it for you. Take the class, its not a light workload, but it pays off
Great teacher, Just do your homework and study. Take her advices and you will do great, she's also hot.
Great teacher! Quizzes every class, tons of homework every day, but at the end it pays off because you learn the material pretty well.
This professor can be very mean during lectures, so try to stay on her good side. She barely ever has office hours for some reason. I called her and she hung the phone up on me as i was asking about my final grade.. wow. Would not recommend her trust me.
Best math professor I've ever had. Do your hw, study for quizzes and exams, and it will pay off. Learned more from her in one semester than I did through HS. Truly a gem at CCNY.
she teaches well and has her own notes which makes things easier- but make sure to study
She teaches very fast. Is pretty well organized, having studying notes for the class to follow. Tests and quizzes are based mostly on her notes so completing the notes is very important. You will need to invest a lot of time into her class to do well.
Teaches fast. Explains things fast. Notes are, however, helpful for study guide for tests or just understanding the topic. However, better explanations would be.. better
goes fast, but her notes are really helpfully. i just wish she explained a bit more rather then just giving us the way to do a problem. however i don't blame her, class only meets twice a week.
GREAT PROFESSOR!Math is all about repetition which means doing hundreds of problems. You cant pass math by memorizing the concept. Be willing to practice.Provides alot of resources to help the student. Teaches it like a high school class. Always emails how you are doing and what assignment is due. Makes up the final if you have her in the evening.
She is a really great and helpful teacher. She goes above and beyond to help her students but gives a lot of homeworks that take a huge chunk of class, final is very hard. I didn't get a good grade but she still helped me in my class. Thank you Professor!
Is rude and loud. Yells in every class, this is not HS, teach the material and calm down. Easy A, teaches via making you repeat tons of similar questions, never really teaches concepts or derivations. Her style is memorize things by doing them over and over. Works but avoid if you are a math or engineering major def did not prepare me for cal 2.
I thought she was an amazing teacher. She gives alot of work but that is how you get to practice. She gives many quizzes but that forces you to study prior to a major exam. She posts answers to everything on blackboard. Her explanations are very clear. She emails you your grades, so you know how you are doing. I would definitely recommend her.
There are very few professors out there that truly care about their students the way Professor Pichardo does. She is very organized, disciplined, and strict when it comes to her work. Her commitment is astonoshing! Definitely recommend her! However, she expects you to take her class serious, so if you register for this course. Take it serious!
She is really great at teaching. Very organized and serious about her students doing well. She prepares you for her final, easier than the first 3 tests, and gives quizzes, every class. If you do the hw, attend her lectures and keep doing the practice problems its an easy A+, as I did :)!
She is really great at teaching. Very organized and serious about her students doing well. She prepares you for her final, easier than the first 3 tests, and gives quizzes, every class. Make time for the practice problems, basically hibernate, as she would say. No problem its an easy A+, as I did :)!
IF you have to take Calc 2 she is the professor to go to
Really good professor, provides students with a lot of material to practice. Tests are pretty easy and she provides reviews. She can sometimes upload notes, hw or solutions late on blackboard but gets them up eventually. Hw's and quizzes almost every class. She will sometimes keep you in class past dismissal but that generally benefits the students
Very straight forward. She emphasizes the importance of integration techniques. Other than that, not very demanding.Lots of homework. gives 4exams, drops1.+ 12 quizzes, drops2.As long as you bring HW, she'll give full credit. Does not explain theory at all, only technique. Which is sort of ok for calc2, but not for many other courses.
Great Professor.Easy class, you should at least get a B but you should aim for an A. Also, I think she's really hot.
Professor Pichardo is great. She'll go to extreme lengths just to make sure you understand the material, and I'm so grateful for that. Probably the best math teacher I've ever had.
She is very nice, kinda like a tough love type of person. She gives 4 exams and drops the lowest. She also gives us 12 quizzes and drops the 2 lowest. She does not curve but she uses a website to track our grades, and she emails us daily with our grades. Her extreme amount of hw makes you get practice with the work.
One of the best STEM professors I've ever had. She designed her own homework and refused to use the standard textbook for the math department. She taught all the topics extremely in depth and made sure everyone understand. Highly recommend taking for any math class here at City.
I freaking loved her. She was so helpful and funny. She is more of a tough love teacher and makes you work for your grade. She is the best math teacher hands down that I have had in high school.
Doris Pichardo is perhaps the best professor I have had in my entire life. She makes you understand the material, not just for the exam, but for life. Her daily intense amount of HW makes you learn the material. She goes over all the HW and gives 4 exams and drops the lowest. I used to hate math, but now I enjoy it because of her.
This teacher was amazing. If you see her name on any math class, take it. She has all of the notes and homework on blackboard to print out. All you have to do is go to class and do the homework and you will most likely pass, if you don't get an A. Her tests are tough if you don't study but there is no question in them that she did not go over.
She is a great professor, very dedicated and down to earth. She's willing to help you and her tests aren't too bad. 4 tests and she drops one of them. However, the most annoying thing is her quizzes. She gives a quiz every week which means you have to study for them all the time. Please no more quizzes. Also, she's not insanely hot but she's good.
GOOD TEACHER
Ms Pichardo is a clear and helpful professor, her homework, quizzes, and tests are as straightforward as her in-class lessons. There's no textbook because she already provides the class with her custom notes, which are good too. She's probably the best math professor at CCNY and I definitely think so. Just do all the work and study and youll get A.
NO DOUBT,TAKE HER!!!!! bEST PROF EVER!! She gives you four tests(drop 1) and like ten quizzes (drops 2). Yes, lots of hws. All you need to do is to do all of the hw and truly understand them to get an A. She doesnt use the textbook nor assign any online hw. She has her own set of notes and hws, which some are taken from the previous finals.
She goes over all types of questions in class and then she'll assign about 25 questions which you'll be able to do easily. She gives reviews. Tests and quizzes are sometimes taken from homework or SUPER similar to homework. Out of 4 tests she drops 1 and out of 12 quizzes she drops 2. Unless you don't do homework or do poorly on quizzes, you'll pass
Pichardo is a great teacher and I received an A+ in her class. Her hw is very important and it is actually very fun to do in the trains on your way to school. She teaches everything you need to know and will help you understand. she drops two quizzes and an exam but she has a lot of quizzes and 4 exams. I wish she would have taught me calculus 2.
This professor is tough. Quizzes almost every week, about 4 exams, and 1 final. A lot of homework. She has all her notes ready online, just have to print them out and bring to class. The practice from the notes and the regular quizzes help a lot! Goes really fast so you kind have to teach yourself at times. Overall recommend her, shes worth taking
Best Math class ever!!, I absolutely adore this professor. Concepts which were hard to grasp for me before I learned them extremely quickly with this professor , her explanations and lectures are crystal clear and very thorough. She gives alot of homework, however this homework is essential for doing good in the many quizzes , tests and class.
The Best Professor ever. Do all the assigned homework and you will pass with great grade.
quizzes are hard and weighs a lot
quizzes are hard and weighs a lot
One of the best professors on campus. Her notes are what gets you through the semester. The only way to fail her class is to not show up.
Homework, homework, and more homework, but it definitely helps. Don't need a textbook because her notes are really all you need to learn and practice from. Definitely not easy, but one of the best math professors you can get if you want to learn. Can only fail if you don't put in the effort. Oh, and try not to miss a class. You'll regret it.
On top that she is a tough grader. She has an unwelcoming character, almost dictator-like. I wouldn't recommend.
Stacks a lot of homework and expects you to be a math genius. Cant teach at all.
Great teacher
really good teacher, cares and passionate about math! if you like math, you will like her
Definitely one of the best professors for math. She teaches you what you need to know. She does problems in class so when you go home you'll have pretty good understanding of the topic. Just do all your hws and attend her class. if you try just a little harder you'll get a good grade. Tough grader but she'll make you learn from your mistakes
If you complain about her you are just plain lazy. Pichardo gives you the tools to do great in her class but you need to study and do the hw. Math is not a subject you can just attend class and do well, you need to pay attention and have practice which is why she gives so much hw. She made me a better math student. take HER!
Pichardo is one of the best math teachers ever; she's certainly among the top in CCNY. She explains every concept extremely well and will answer all questions both in & out of class. Also super funny! Gives a lot of work (optional to do) but it pays off as it helps when you get to the test. Also prepares you for the CCNY final. AWESOME professor!!!
One of best professors at CCNY. Makes math enjoyable. Very funny. Teaches well and explains things clearly. A lot of work but the practice pays off. Prepares for department final. Lots of quizzes and 4 tests but drops lowest grade. Work hard and you'll be fine
Pichardo is one of the best professors at CCNY. The reason why students will even complain about her is the fact that Calc 2 itself is a hard course so if you dont put in the work dont expect to do well. She will prepare you for all her exams, quizzes, and even the final so nothing is a surprise in her class. Put in the work and you will do fine
Prof Pichardo is a very good professor. She gives quizzes often which prepare you for the 4 exams she gives. She is very considerate as a professor and wants to help out the student as much as possible. Departmental finals are tricky but can be done if you know the material thoroughly.
She's a really great professor and goes over each lesson in a pace that the class could understand. She used to grade HW's, but now she is quiz grades to see if you actually do work outside of class. She makes the tests easy and goes over any topics emphasized more on the department final. I had her for Calc 202 by the way.
Pichardo is by far one of the best math proffesors at CCNY. She explains everything and prepares for tests and dept. final. 12 quizzes, drops lowest 2 and lowest test. Lots of HW that's optional but it really helps to do it. Makes class enjoyable and funny. She also has all her notes and hws with worked out solutions online.
She is a great instructor, she does well with balancing fun, and the lecture, shes funny, and loves her job. I would retake her class any day, make sure to pay attention in class and you will definitely pass.
Teaches complex material in a very, very clear cut way and takes difficult material and makes it somewhat simple. Answers questions in real helpful ways. Gives quizzes almost every single week to ensure you learned the material. . She goes over every quiz and hw the day it is graded. You must study or the quizzes will kill you. No curve
TAKE HER!Best Math Professor at City College hands down. Super organized, all of her class notes, homework assignments and test reviews are on Blackboard WITH ANSWERS. Homework isnt madatory but if you want to pass DO IT. Tests are long, quizzes every week. You can track your class average. Be prepared to move into the library and dont come out.
I dont have her now but i wish i did!!! i enjoyed her class so much and i hate math!
Pichardo is a great professor and very helpful. Her courses are well organized and her expectations are very clear. Presents material in a very clear manner. She is very fair, however, she is a very tough grader. Have good attendance, pay attention in class and do the homeworks and you'll be on your way to get an A.
Pichardo is a great professor and very helpful. Her courses are well organized and her expectations are very clear. Presents material in a very clear manner. She is very fair, however, she is a very tough grader. Have good attendance, pay attention in class and do the homeworks and you'll be on your way to get an A+.
Great professor but you really have to do all the assigned hw or you won't do well on her quizzes. Might be a little fast pase in some topics but with all the homework she assigns you'll understand, if you ask her to explain in class she might get annoyed but she'll explain regardless.
Professor Pichardo is the best math professor. Just do whatever thing she provide, you good. Make sure you ready for other professor after finish her class
Worst professor ever. She swears. She don't care to tell anything to your face in front of everyone. Hate her.
AMAZING SHE IS AMAZING
I had Pichardo for calc 2- one of the toughest courses. Her lectures really break it down, so it's imperative that you attend. The best thing is that she provides so many practice problems WITH SOLUTIONS, and at the end of the day, your grade really depends on how much practice you do. She's understanding and thorough. TAKE HER FOR CALC 2!
She is truly amazing in this class because she taught so many things in MATH that I didn't understand it until now. Yes, she can be very aggressive at certain point, but she is really sweet. You really have to work hard for this like EXTRA HARD! Overall, I would love to take her class again.
One of the best prof i have ever came across. I never understood math until i took her class. She breaks everything down into such simple detail that it's impossible to not understand it. You have to do all the work she gives and you WILL get a A+ guaranteed! Do not start slacking in the end( what i did). Practice is key. "Move into the library!"
She is without a doubt one of the best professors at CCNY. I took her for bridge to Calc1 and couldn't be happier with that decision. Somehow she is able to teach anyone, no matter their standing in math. She doesn't use the textbook, instead teaching the way she finds will appeal to students best. Expect hw & quizzes that will truly help you learn
This is the best professor I've ever met during my summer time with her. I was really dieing in her class because of all her work load but it really paid off because now I really understand deeper math concepts. She wants to help everyone out so use it to your advantage.
She is AMAZING. She really loves teaching math. She would go over problems you don't understand at the beginning of every class. Everyone should take her!
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable and motivational. She wants her students to do the best they can. Math is my weak subject but Pichardo made it so simple for me. Everyone should have the pleasure of taking her class.
GREAT!!! she truly cares about the class, makes things clear as possible. 4 exams and one gets dropped, and from 10 quizzes 2 get dropped. great professor i truly recommebd
People love her so much and I took her thinking she was going to be a easy A. Yes she's a good professor as in you will learn in her class but if you're not with her pace you're screwed. She goes way too fast. She minuses points for every damn thing. She's a really tough grader. I literally got 80+ on all her in class exams and failed the final.
She gives good amount of notes for practice and can teach decently but she makes it like if she's the only class I have on my schedule. On tests and quizzes, if you make two calculation mistakes, she will mark the whole question wrong. Have to put in a lot of time for her work. The grade you get is the grade you deserve. No curve at the end.
She is an amazing teacher. She has all of the notes with answers on blackboard. Reviews prior to every exam. You just need to study. You need to invest the time in order to get an A. She explains very clearly and is accessible after class.
Honestly the best calc professor ever. She prints out notes for her students so she can focus on problem solving. She assigns homework, but it is not graded. Do them anyway because it'll help on her exams. She gave a quiz every week and 4 tests, 2 quizzes are dropped and 1 test dropped. Make sure to study!!! Go over her notes and do all the work.
Teaching is her passion. if you want to learn and do well, make sure to work out the problems from her notes and HW(she doesn't collect).
Currently taking her for the 4 week summer course. She teaches extremely fast and gives a lot of helpful notes that her quizzes are based on. You basically have to teach yourself and practice a lot. She can come off as mean and harsh but a lot of students need that to take a class seriously.
She was THE BEST calc 2 teacher ever. You have to work for her class but she really prepares you for the final. Her tests are NOT HARD if you study for them. Definitely do all the homeworks because they will help you. 5/5
This class is hard because you have to work for it. She is an amazing professor. If you go to class you will learn a lot. There are a lot of quiz's. If you do not do well on the quiz and exams, you will not do well in the class.
This professor is such a bad professor i ever had. even tho I passed in my exams and all the quizzes, she failed me because in my final i failed but not with very low grade. when i did my average it was c+ but she gave me F. Never take her, cause she doesn't know how to teach and being real with you... she could be very mean with You. Beware!!
She was ok but she needs to improve a lot. She grades too harshly. Her quizzes are hard but her tests are very fair. I hate that she doesn't give extra credit or curves at all even though the majority did bad in the class. Shes too hard to not give some sort of extra credit. I would only take her if there was no one else.
Fast paced class, walks you through solutions and makes you practice on your own, provides a lot of resources to prepare, but a very tough grader on weekly quizzes, tests, and your overall grade. It's basically your responsibility to be on track with her. She motivates and makes you work for your grade. No curve, just study very hard.
dont get me wrong, shes an amazing teacher. she gives 4 exams and drops one of them (rare at ccny)quiz weekly and explains very clearly. she tells you everything that she expects from you so nothing is a surprise. but she gives WAY TOO MUCH WORK. if youre taking other classes and have a job try to avoid her because you will be drowning in 202 work.
Pichardo is a true gem. She presents the material clearly and provides so many resources to help you pass the class. IMO, her exams (About 30 multiple choice questions and 6 short response) are a bit easier than what most other math professors at CCNY put on their exams. You have to work hard for the grade you want. Also no WebAssign!
at first i didnt like her bc she grades quizzes very harshly but u get used to them & it forces u to stop making small mistakes. She really is very caring and explains very well. tells u every topic that will be on her exams. she gives u 1000s of pages worth of notes & hws (doesnt grade them!) and if u just practice them you will more than be fine!
You won't find a better calc 2 professor. 4 exams 10 quizzes, she drops 1 exam and two quizzes. Got a 70 on my first test then got on my bs and got 90s and up on the next three. She posts all the notes and homeworks at the beginning of the sem. which are extremely helpful. Wish she taught Calc 3.
I really enjoyed her class. No textbook, she puts all the notes and homeworks on Blackboard. I didn't have to learn a thing by myself. Be prepared to work hard and do all the homework and notes.
Professor Pichardo was one of the best, if not the best professors at City. She gives you plenty of ways to practice everything and gives you answers to everything so that you can check back on how to get the answer. She explains concepts so well that you don't need to teach yourself anything. As long as you practice, you're bound to do well.
collect her past exams and you're guaranteed an A
one of the only professors who still give paper math homework (doesnt count for credit) please please please do yourself a favor and take her for calc 2 if you want to learn !!! her teaching style + resources that she provides are everything you need for an A+. If i had the option to take her for the remainder of my math courses i would!!!
Here's the thing. You will have to work hard. However, she makes all the problems very clear and easy to understand. Do the notes and home works (which she doesn't check), and the quiz and test will be on them! She is very helpful.
Your grade is dependent on two things, quizzes and tests. She has notes that she goes over in class and hw for u to do by yourself. You have to attend EVERY single class. Tough class, makes you work for it but definitely worth it. I took her for precalc and hope to take her for calc 2
She's honestly a great professor. The beginning of the semester is a lot of review from previous math courses so you're on your own, but after that she really starts to teach you. You don't need the textbook as long as you pay attention in class and study for the quizzes and exams. She also gives lots and lots of practice questions with solutions.
Great class. If you do your HW, you will do very well. She answered anything she was asked for (including precalc stuff).
Professor Pichardo made calculus bearable. She is very humorous even when she doesn't try. She is a strict and tough grader though. However if you study a lot, do the homework she assigns, and pay attention in class, you will do well. Calculus is not an easy subject so don't expect this to be an easy A. Nevertheless, she is a wonderful instructor.
can't teach
She is okay if that is the only class youre taking in a semester. Unbearable for a full time student. For the sake of your grades and your sanity, do not take her. I got 13 homework on the first day of class!!
Does not know how to teach, very fast pace, gives a lot of assignments. Take a different professor.
I think she is really easy to understand. There was a lot of homework but if you do it you will get an A. I thought she was an excellent professor. She would stay after class and answer all of your questions.
She is one of the worse professor. She is really rude. She made my whole semester a living disaster. I dont remember trying this hard to pass other classes. I took her for pre calc she gave me a D. I had to retake it in summer with half of the class. I got an A. In calc I got an A. In calc 2 I got an A. She made me feel worthless. DONT TAKE
She does her best to teach the course, but if you don't show up to class and pay attention, then you'll have a hard time. She only drops two quizzes and one exam, so if you mess up on multiple quizzes/exams, you need to put more hours into studying the material or else your final exam grade won't have a good cushion.
Was a really great class, never before had such a great math teacher. Super clear, she teaches you how to solve rather than waste time explaining unneeded concepts. Her teaching method is very effective.
I had Pichardo for Bridge to MATH 212, and her notes are the best notes I ever received from any math teacher. They're actually much better than the textbook in most cases, and so I actually use them for MATH 212. Bridge class is a no-credit class so I can't say about the workload, but would definitely take a for-credit class with her.
Ms. Pichardo's "notes" are worksheets with lots of problems. Answer key for all notes and HW's are on BlackBoard. She does the hardest problems from the notes in class. Her paper HW's are not mandatory but really help. 4 exams and like 10 quizzes(drops 1 exam and 2 quizzes), and the final. She puts a lot of effort to help everyone understand math.
The notes are amazing. She takes so many quizzes. Practice a lot and you should be fine.
horrible professor, do not take her. rushed through the whole class and is very rude.
Take this class only if you have to. It was very rushed and all she cares about is getting you to take her quizzes and tests. Shorty was wild rude and the feedback was not up to par. She lowkey wants you to fail.
Just horrible, always rush rush. No patience
I remembered taking her for calc 1 and just dropping her class. Her attitude is so awful and she love rushing the class, which resulted in a lot of people being confused on the material and them failing on quizzes and tests. the only good thing about her is the review sheet or the "homework", but don't be fooled by her high rating.
She is tough and demanding, but really loves her work. She wants you to succeed, but you have to earn it. If you want it, she will help you, if not, don't waste her time. She has a lot of subject matter to cover, and not enough time. It is definitely tough love. She is an amazing professor, and you would be lucky to learn from her.
Yall this class is nowhere near an easy class unless you have taken AP CALC in hs. You get the grade you put in work for and this class really proves it. I lost an A because I put in more time into this class trying to get a good grade. Overall, she teaches good but be ready as topics gets rushed through at the end!
If you miss class, it would be super hard. She gives you a lot of ways to pass.
If you want a math professor with great vibes? TAKE HER! She gives practice resources online like "NOTES" which are VERY helpful when you want to master a certain topic on your own. The only thing that I'd note is if you need help, DON'T be afraid to ask her. Make sure to give an actual math problem (not topic!) that you are struggling with.
She is just perfect for the class. I wished she would teach every math class. She cares for her students. Yes, she gives a lot of work but its worth at the end. If you want A just do what she asked for.
She makes the class harder than it supposed.
if you really care about your grade and gpa then you should never take her. One of the worst professor for math, she never helps and she have an attitude. She always makes you feel dumb student and that she is smart professor. She never replies to emails. If you took her then you will literally do everything by your own from google and YouTube.
the worst math professor ever. I had to study everything on my own cuz she always rashes. she always blames the students for everything which doesn't make sense at all. she is also very rude to the students. which overall made the class very hard although it is a very easy class. I would never recommend her for any other student try to stay away
DO NOT TAKE HER! She's rude and inconsiderate towards students. She has a nasty attitude and never helps the students. When a question is asked she acts like the student is extremely dumb and actually yells at them for no reason. She doesn't give extra credit and does nothing to help your grade. I regret taking her!
I'm starting to regret taking this class.
I had her before covid, but I've heard her test are harder online. Either way, my experience with her in-person class was pleasant, she gives great feedback, you just have to ask. She gives lots of problems for you to exercise (you honestly can't ask for better) and the next time you see, you go over the problems together in class. Tests were fair.
Please avoid taking her for your own health. If you are not good at Math, DO NOT take her. She will get mad at you if you ask for help. She will NOT care and she will fail you if you don't understand. She claims she's passionate about math but she isn't because if she was, she would understand that everyone learns math differently.
I felt like her lectures were very long and confusing. I was always scared to even ask for help because I felt very uncomfortable. I would have to look back into recordings from class sessions to review the content. To pass the class you really need to review your own notes and be your own teacher.
She is so bad. If you take her be ready to do everything alone. This class is self taught and so difficult and she is so messy and so inconsiderate. Please dont kill your grade like that.
Just awful. Doesn't explains well. Gets angry for no reason. Math 195 itself is not a hard class but she makes it the hardest. Sprints through problems. Always telling students to watch videos instead of explaining during class. Often doesn't understand the question asked. Makes you buy a textbook which you will never use and do lot of webassign.
She is the best professor I've ever had. I had her a few semesters ago so maybe online teaching isn't her thing, but I seriously wish I could take her again. She does not give an easy A, you will not be passing if you don't do work. HW is technically optional you need it. If you ask her questions about every hw she will help a LOT.
this class is HORRIBLE!!!!!! you literally have to learn everything by yourself with no help from the professor. She would answer your questions with a attitude and talk about cheating on exams. she would just rush over the notes without any good explanation. If you don't want your GPA to go down, DO NO TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
to be honest, at first, I hated this class and couldn't care to deal with professor Pichardo because of her daily rants. But as the semester went on, you could see that she wants her students to pass and learn from the lessons. she makes us show our work during exams so we'll actually know how to do the problems when we're back on campus.
She has such a rude attitude and does not CARE what you have to say. She has been rude so many times to students just asking for help. she gives A TON of homework at points and quizzes every week. She just runs through things expecting you to know them. Overall I would never take her again for her lack of respect for her students.
Seriously, she needs to go easy on the exams. The questions are fair but give us ENOUGH time to finish. It is so unfair for us students.
I had this class over the summer 21 and had to drop it. She is very condescending and expects you to know EVERYTHING even though she doesn't explain well. Maybe better in person - but I will never know. Will NEVER take her class again!
Professor Pichardo is an amazing professor. I feel some people don't like her because they expect her to be a miracle worker. She is here to teach you calculus, not math you should know from high school that you should've known years ago. Her lectures are easy to follow. Study guides given before each exam. You can pass if you put in effort.
Friends do not take her! She is constantly in a hurry with the material, she thinks that everyone in her class should know everything, if someone does not know something she starts to get upset. She does not explain the lectures well. If you want to take this course I recommend going to another teacher.
!Horrible professor! AVOID HER. Had her for math 195 and she didn't teach anything. She consistently said "You should know this from math 190 moving on" and rushed through the material. She's rude/doesn't care about her students whatsoever. She makes slick comments when you ask a question/don't understand something. Quizzes dont match class work.
She is a great professor. Had her for Math 195 back in the Fall 2018 Semester and had her for Math 201 back in the Spring 2019 Semester. She is amazing. I wouldn't got C's in both of her classes, in two conditions, if I weren't depressed about the Poltergeist Child Star Heather O'Rourke's death and went to Bobby Tarique Tutoring center for help.
Do not take this class no matter what! This was my worst semester ever. She was a harsh grader and did not explain lessons. Such a stressful and depressing semester. She does not have any respect for her students and does not care about them. She made me feel discouraged. She is rude and mean and her tests are extremely difficult. BEWARE!
I failed this class because I really didn't put in the effort at all this semester. But, she expects her students to know everything already which made it hard to learn. She also is a harsh grader so exam grades were not good for me. She gives a quiz every week which did more harm than good. She rushed over 5 topics and expected us to master it.
The professor was a great teacher this semester. Although we had to rush a lot towards the end, she still was able to teach everything in the course. There were 3 exams and 10 quizzes, but she dropped two quizzes. The exams were mostly multiple choice. The quizzes were rough, but I feel that they helped me a lot in the class. Definitely take her
Keep up with the notes and hws she uploads because she gives quizzes every weekly, those same topics on quizzes will be put onto her midterms. If you want the best grade I would do every hw and notes.
She will call students out. You will have to do tons of homework, weekly quizzes, and 3 or 4 exams. Only available 2 days a week and if you are not present and paying attention, you are in tough shape. She is super-fast and expects students to know everything instead of teaching them.
She started at a very slow paste in the beginnings than rush things at the ends. she held around 7 or 8 lectures outside classes which make it hard for students to catch up. She doesn't drop any exams at all even if you did better in the final. She doesn't even consider it. Don't take her if you don't want your GPA to drop drastically.
Her lectures are pretty fast paced, but it's reasonable bc there's a lot of material to cover. I often had to review the material outside of class to make sure I understood it. The grade is composed of Pearson hw, 3 exams, and a final. She gave a lot of practice questions with her paper homework. Do them if you're struggling.
The course is slow in the beginning and very rushed at the end. She is also very rude and it can make it difficult for students who deal with a lot of anxiety.
All lessons are based around fill-in packets with answer keys. She provides very robust exam review(+ key)packets. Provided extra credit to boost up to 10 points each of our first 2/3 exams(No curve). She takes her time to explain the content(which I loved) but at the end it was a cram(CALC2 is demanding). All around fantastic Professor.
Uses great fill-in note packets, provides extensive exam review materials with keys, offers extra credit (up to 10 points for the 2/3 exams, no curve). Explains content thoroughly, though CALC2 demands cramming. Weekly quizzes and straightforward online homework. Fantastic professor! CALC 2 IS NOT EASY BUT SHE MAKES U PUT IN THE WORK!
She does not know how to teach the entire calc 2 syllabus within the given timeframe. She just dumped us with 10 2- hour long videos she recorded 3 semesters ago and forced us to watch it in 2 days. There were questions in the final exam from topics she didnt go over in class or the videos. She became very disorganized towards the end of the sem.
She is a good teacher when it comes to math. The only way you will do good is by doing practice problems, staying on top of your work and paying attention in class. She gives tons of practice to do and is relatively fair. She's a very old school type of professor which I genuinely liked. The material is tough but put in the work and you'll be fine
Doris P. has a very structured teaching style, with detailed note packets and robust exam reviews. While CALC2 is demanding, she makes you put in the work. Using UnstuckStudy AI alongside the materials helped me prep efficiently for the weekly quizzes and exams.
Tough Grader. Easy exams/quizzes (No curve but partial credit depends) Gives lots of practice problems .Make sure you follow her method to do all problems .then you will be fine .
She is not a bad professor and explains things clearly. She teaches super-fast, like she expects you to know your stuff, and will kill you with homework. Some of her homework had over 27 problems, plus there would be like 3 extra math homework, and it took me days just to finish. She goes so fast and then brags that she is ahead of everyone else.
Overall a really great math teacher. Her lectures revolve around notes and materials she keeps posted online. We had quizzes every week but as long as you listen to her lectures and do the practice material you're fine. Her practice problems are exactly like the ones you'd see on her exams. Explains concepts well and lectures are well structured.
She is not a bad professor but she made me hate maths. I had done extremely well in Calculus 1 but somehow everything changed when I took her. She goes EXTREMELY FAST and so much content cannot be grasped if someone goes at such a strong speed. Plus she would teach on weekends too and even took few classes on spring break.
she is veryy tough and strict, but she's good at teaching and explaining concepts. you definitely have to put more effort into this class and study everyday, thats how i got through it. myopenmath and paper hw help A BUNCH so def do those. she is also a strict grader so include ALL your work and details always. highly recommend her.
If you take her, be ready for a crazy amount of work. you have to do so many problems to be proficient in the work. there are short answer quizzes every week, but if you do the homework she puts on brightspace, it's pretty much the same thing you will have on the quiz. exams are mostly multiple choice, so getting a good grade on exams is easier.
Professor Pichardo is hands down my favorite professor this semester. She is truly the sweetest. While it may seem she posts a lot of work, they are all beneficial. When I took calc 1 with her, she had mulitple reveiw zoom meetings even on holidays or at night for students before exams. She prepares you very well for the final.
