Prof. Bland is thorough. She won't give you a grade...you have to earn it. However, if you miss taking her as a teacher, you have really missed out. Her teaching is a little unorthodox and I like it. She makes you leave the classroom to complete tasks.

Professor Bland is a really good teacher, but gives WAY TO MUCH WORK for a class that's only 1 credit. WAY TO MUCH!! The hardest part is the student media points. I definitely recommend starting early if you're not that involved with the Journalism school. It'll be a **** to try to get them done last minute!!!

Professor Bland is extremely passionate with what she does. She is not the type of professor to just give you a grade,however she is willing to work with the students & make sure you get the most out of your class. Professor Bland is excellent...one thing that I can say is that she pushes you hard and gets you ready for the real world. No late papers are without penalty, but she is always sticking to th syllabus, always available for help, and works with students with special circumstances. All you have to do is talk to her. This was my 2nd time taking her!

Professor Bland offers a lot of extra credit, so there is no excuse for failing her class even if you do miss assignments. She is strict on deadlines and her workload is EXTREMELY heavy. This class is very informational and prepares you for what your career will truly have you doing. You learn the ropes. Although in the summer it is a crash course, if you study your AP style guide, take notes and sumbit close to error-free assignments in terms of facts and correct grammar, you should be fine.

Her smile will fool you into thinking the class is easy. You must read the textbook chapters she assign. She only gives two exams the semester which is a midterm and a final. My class wasn't given much direction for the midterm, which sucked, but she gave a review for the final. She assigns a 10 pager between two students. DO YOU WORK! READ!
