She is strict but fair. Excellent teacher.

Very good teacher because she knows a lot on the subjecy, and wrote the course text-book. Hard class, a lot of work.

she is quite stern and stubborn, will never back down to you and try her absolute hardest to make a fool and mockery out of you. on the other hand her work is not all that hard, unless u hate writing essays. the workload is fair and her grading is fair.

i feel violated because we are required to buy TWO books and BOTH are written by her. CORRUPTION!!!!

difficult teacher if you're a slacker or expect an easy A. the people in my class who were willing to do the reading and actually try to do the work did well. The people who came in late, goofed off, and expected a grade for nothing got what they deserved

One of the most memorable teachers...I learned a lot from her classes...She will give you attitde, but only if you're ditsy, lazy, or a know-it-all. Has some funny moments, but best of all, her textbooks are a valuable resource.

if you don't want to do work or learn, then take someone else. If you want someone who will actually make you feel like you are in college, she is one of the few. Honestly, I had tougher teachers in high school - she's not THAT bad.

not that bad. yes, she has a superiority complex, but hey, what english teacher doesn't?? it is IMPERATIVE that you actually read the assigned readings because she will ask you questions and get mad if all she gets is a blank stare. don't ever forget your books, she'll ask you to leave.

The one thing I loved about Dr. Seyler's class was her stories. She always had an interesting tale to tell which was related to the story/poem/play we had to read. This is the best thing asides from the cold mood of the class as well as her tough grading.

Teacher is very tough on class - hard to get an A - She just have an old-fashioned approach in teaching student through descipline. If you want to really learn and be able to improve in your writing, take her class and expect a not so good grade. But if you want an easy A - I suggest to go for a diff teacher. I learned a lot the hard way.

Dr. Seyler is a very smart woman. She has unique insight into many of the stories that the class is assigned to read. If you want to become more intellectual, take this class. If you dont care to learn, find another teacher. She expects a lot out of her students, which is a good thing in my book.

In short: it's so hard that even though I got a "B" she recommended me for honors. However, she is not the kind of teacher that gives you busywork; she only gives reading assignments that pertain to the next of 6 essays you have to write. If you want to write for a living, take her class-I learned more than I have in years. Otherwise, hide,"mmKay?"

VERY HARD! Rude, stuck up, much respect for those who attend class and do the work she asks. Doesn't think twice to verbally assault your opinion, but if you have done your homework, and can present a valid opinion regardless of weather she agrees, she will listen. But you CANNOT BACK DOWN! Don't get intimidated! She enjoys the challenge!

Mrs. Seyler is to say the least set in her grounds. She is very opinionated, do not even try to voice yours. As a teacher, she is very strict but she is not THAT bad. If you are lazy and want an easy A do not take her class, but if you are willing to put in a little extra effort, you will walk away with atleast a B.

This is a mean one, can be verbally abusive but in an indirect manner...although her class can be hell to attend she is a damn good teacher

Dr. Seyler is very demanding and doesn't tolerate laziness. However, she knows her stuff VERY well and will teach you a lot if you want to learn.

Seyler is one of the best teachers I've ever had. If you want to become a better writer take her class. If you are looking for an easy "A" stay well clear, you won't get one. COME TO CLASS, DO YOUR WORK, when she says she'll fail you if you don't work she's NOT kidding. She failed half our class. However, she's truly a great teacher!!

The work and the quizes aren't that bad. You'll get a good grade if you read. Simple as that. As long as you can stand being completely miserable during class you should be fine.

HATE HER!! infact i dropped it. she even liked me i just hated her. she's extremelyyyy RUDE. extremely! people walked out the first day, including some propper adult. don't take her. i tried but i just had to drop it and im not the type to drop at all.

I will admit, she scared the hell out of me when I first took the class. She will NOT let you simply ride by on anything, and she will challenge you at every turn. (She mocked one of my opinions once as 'romantic') But I must admit that I have her to thank for my writing and my critical thinking skills. If you really want to sharpen your writing

Just do the work!!! Attendance is a must. She is hard but I got a good grade. Do not make her mad otherwise you will do bad. Good luck

Prof. Seyler is definitely tough, but she is brilliant. I always like listening to what she has to say. The only assignments are reading and 5 essays. She grades a bit hard but we usually get what we deserve. She is cold at first but warms up towards the end of the semester.

She was extremely hard. Dont fool around, no gum, no drinks, assigned seating, no cell phones in sight, dont even think about looking at the clock. She is very smart though. Knows her stuff. But she is mean. Ridicules students, plays favorites. Go to class, listen, dont offer an opinion. Class started with 30 peoples...ended with 3. You do the math

I had professor Seyler nearly 40 years ago and she was very tough on me but the payoff of her high standards and rigorous criticism of my work proved incredibly beneficial. My writing ability improved steadily as did my capacity to analyze and synthesize complex readings. She prepared me for my doctoral work 6 years later and I'm now a professor.

I could have chosen to dislike Dr. Seyler. She made me sit in the front, and pay attention. She was quite a demanding instructor, and made me work very hard for all marks and she pushed me into assignment options which I would have ignored. I'm very proud of my accomplishments in 4 semesters of honors English with Dr. Seyler.
