Confusing teaching style, goes wildly off topic at random and then right back to the topic. If you always take notes and study hard you will do well, otherwise you will fail for sure. Actually lost one of my tests.

The worst teacher I have ever had. I must admit he is funny but i didn't sign up for comedy 101. Do not take this teacher, even if you do study alot, you are bound to fail, because he does not follow his notes.

Worst teacher i've ever had. DON'T TAKE HIM. He doesn't go by the book or by his notes. he tells you what are "test questions" and he doesnt use them.
He's a good teacher because he makes you learn material instead of letting you coast. Usually, the professors spoon feed you answers so you can pass but he doesn't do that. And he is hilarious to boot!
He's a total butt head, but he will pull through for you in the end if you fight him for what you want.
Great teacher! Those younger probably couldn't appreciate what he has to offer with his teaching. I know I didn't when I first started college years ago but now I've learned and he's a wonderful teacher.

Is everybody with us? Did we lose anyone? We'll lose some folks every now and then. Mr Cobbs is one of my favorite teachers. Do you know Willy Walker? You do? And what does Willy do? Thats right, he walks.
Extremely entertaining! His tests are hard but if you take notes and do the homework and actually study you will be fine. He has a different teaching style but hes a great teacher and i would take him again for another class.

ARE YOU WITH ME..DID I LOOOSE ANYBODY? He is extreamly helpful and if you take notes in class you know exactly what is on the test. If you spend a little time answering the questions in the papers you write, you cant help not get a good grade. I took internet class, he let me set in on a 3 hour evening class, test grades went from 70 to high 90s

He is confusing and talks to much about his family rather than talking about the lesson. He try’s to use the technology to teach the class when he ends up being taught by the class on what he needs to do to get the projector turned on or the computer to play a slide show. ABSOLUTLY HORROBLE, DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR ANYTHING

If you're thinking about taking BUS 100, i advise you NOT to take Cobbs class. He doesn't speak clearly on subjects, he tends to talk about his family.. or stupid things other than teaching the class what's needed. He don't work with you on anything. he's not understanding about anything. just do yourself a favor.. and DON'T take his class!!!
D. Cobbs is one of the least proficcient professors I have ever had the displeasure to meet. He is confusing, he rambles, and is just generally loathsome. He is also a very memorization/regurgatation focused teacher. I have never met a more arrogant, un-helpful teacher. Please, if you have any choice in the matter; choose another professor.
Quite possibly one of the WORST teachers EVER!! Be nice to yourself, spend a relaxing day at the spa, get a manicure, buy something pretty and never, I repeat Never take a class with Cobbs!!
He is very confusing and not willing to talk with students unless it is on HIS time and he doesnt tell you when HIS time is...He makes himself sound really easy at the beginning by saying there are just a few easy tests and then he throws projects at you and the tests get harder and harder...I do not recommend him to ANYONE ever...sorry Cobbs!

Horrible teacher likes to tell his life story while teaching. We had three people in my class complain to the school about him. What he lectures is diffrent then what he says will be on test.

his classes may be fun but aren't of any help. tests are extremely hard and confusing.

This man is the bane of every students existence that takes him. TERRIBLE, tries to be funny (succeeds little), talks more about henry the homeless and sally the thief than business. Does not describe assignments well. I know more about his family life than anything. He will make you change your major. Don't take this poor excuse for a teacher.

Mr. Cobbs is a pathetic excuse for a professor. His speech is incomprehensible, he is extremely stubborn, and he will not work with you at ALL on your grade. His knowledge of business is... well he doesn't have any! Somehow, he is still on the payroll and calls himself a professor. Save your time and money.. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

Cobbs doesnt deserve to teach. I took him last semester and withdrew. He was to unclear with what he wanted. He made us do a powerpoint and made it seem so important, then said no one did it right and threw the grade out. DONT TAKE HIM.
Worst professor I encouterd in a while. He deserves to be fired.I think he's terrile and I got an A in the class, . I signed up for Bus 100 under a diffrent professor to aviod him and still got stuck with him teaching the class. So you can image my frustration when I had to put up with this idiot for 5 weeks. This "professor" is the worst by far and I'm just in my first week of his class!!! He is late EVERYDAY and has no clue what he's talking about. He relies on his class to teach while he pokes his finger in their face trying to intimidate them to answer. Fortunately for me, I am not intimidated by him and I REFUSE to fail because of him.

By far the most difficult teacher I have had. He is not very helpful and doesn't care about the students. When I took him, some of the students dropped the class because they could absolutely not get along with him.But, if you study and keep up with the homework assignments, you should be ok.I got a "B"

This class really hurt my GPA. I am typically a A- student and I got a C in this class. I spent anywhere from 6 to 12 hours studying for the tests.

Cobbs is late to class, doesn't give a damn about your grade, is as flexible as steel on turning in assignments late with proper documentation, stutters, thinks he's funny, you can't read whats on the board because its so sloppy, can't use technology effectively, strays off topic often, makes a huge deal out of small things. Not my favorite person in the world. But I did pretty descent in his class, only because I studied SOOO much. Attendance is SO necessary. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. Just read the rest of his reviews they are spot on. Avoid the class if you can.

Do not take him. Ever. If you don't suck up to him, then you will get a C at best. His rants are about things vaguely related but then he rants about his rants! He shows up at least 5 minutes late to class every day.

Not interested in the students at all. I've tried to discuss my grade with him three times, he avoids it or makes excuses each time. He is a very discouraging professor as he calls you out in class and if you don't know the answer he makes it a point to embarrass you. He is my worst professor yet. I wish I had read these comments before taking his class. Everyone is 110% correct! I am an A student, but I will be extremely lucky if I can pass his class with a D even though I study my butt off. The instructor is worthless! He doesn't explain anything & treats you like an idiot when you ask a question. He has to go!!!
I was in this professor's class only for 3 classes before I withdrew. The only two classes I attended he talked about the most irrelevant useless information like how his brother lost all his money gambling and other stories. I wish I would have read this before even wasting my money on the book.
Cobbs is horrible. It's exam day and he said it would be online. Not online yet. He is always late to class, doesn't clearly state what needs to be done in assignments, as well as he didn't tell us where we had to go if anywhere for the final exam. watch out, don't take him
I been a student of his twice. Once for business law and for bus 100. His class is not easy but his syllabus states what has to been done to get an A. All you have to do is go online, to the web site take all the practice test and stuff, and you should have a chance of getting at least a C on your paper. Law was much harder than bus100

He is sarcastic and condescending to anyone who is unclear of the situation/subject. He uses juvenile symbolism(sammy shark), and treats everyone as a 5 year old. He just stopped class and wrote on the board "NO HATS", and proceeded to call me out for it. It was never understood hats are prohibited. This guy should be fired.
This guy is a joke and shouldn't be teaching at all. He kicked me out of class yesterday for not having my textbook in class. He wouldn't let me look on with another person in our group b/c he said I would bother them, but the funny thing is that we were doing group work!
This is hands-down one of the most obnoxious professors I've ever had. Turns what would be approximately 10 minutes of information into 50 minutes of drawn-out theatrics. Expectations are pretty clear, but he insists on consistently reminding you of things already spelled out. Ridiculously arrogant and a huge waster of time.

Went to all of 3 classes and he was very rude when talking to the students. He tells you to work in groups but yet will tell you he doesn't want to hear you talking! I wouldn't take his class unless its your last option; I withdraw from the class and will go to a different school to take it.
Doug Cobbs and Clarence Cobbs are the same people =D Hes a good teacher he just thinks he knows everything and hes always right. There are discussion boards biweekly and current event papers monthly (EASY). As long as you turn them in your fine. He's funny and laid back just make sure you do the work and joke with him.
I'm in his online class now. It's not hard at all, but I can agree with a lot of the others, that he seems very cocky. I asked for partial credit on a late assignment, he replied giving me the dates assignments were due. I never asked when assignments were due.

Mr. Cobbs' class was a very unpleasant experience. I recommend you consider another instructor. For me, the instructions he gave for the numerous writing assignments were not clear. When I asked for clarification, his answers were trite and condescending.
Great teacher, one of the best and most interesting classes I've ever taken. These people who left the bad reviews are those kids that don't come to class or do the work, and expect to still get A's. All tests are take home, open book. It can't get any easier.
Although he's a tough grader, he's fair if you do the work. Great in explaining the subject. Although I made a C in his class, I though that it was fair because of what I was able to accomplish. Many think the opposite., but believe me you will learn something if you just come to class and pay attention.

I had this professor for an online business course. Assignments were very straightforward and material was easy to understand. As long as you put a little effort into each assignment and submit everything on time, you will do well in this course.
The syllabus was a joke and it lacked any kind of guidance or structure, and he only gave us 4 weeks of assignments at a time, and they weren't even in chronological order. Tests were on material we didn't study. I turned in an assignment 2 minutes late and he didn't give me credit. He didn't give me credit for an assignment he said I plagiarized.
(8 of 9) I don't know how Prof. Cobbs has made it this long at JSRCC. You can tell by reading the reviews about him, and how far back they go, that he has been treating students like this for YEARS. It's pretty obvious that taking his class (twice no less) was a very negative experience for me, and I let JSRCC know in my end-of-semester evaluation.
(9 of 9) I recently completed a "360 Survey" about my experiences at Reynolds also, since I've completed 15 credit hours, and I'm curious to see if what I said in both surveys will be followed-up on or not. There is hope, however, since we have a new school President, and I'm hoping that she takes our complaints more seriously than her predecessor.
The class wasn't terrible, but the teacher is "extra" For example if you show up to class 5 minutes late he'll stop the class and stare you down and make slick comments towards you for the rest of the semester. If you miss an assignment he wont give you a chance to turn it in even if you had a serious reason not to be able to do it, so do it.

Doug Cobbs aka Clarence Cobbs was the worst professor I've had since I started at JSRCC two years ago. Syllabus was a joke. No order or structure at all. Tests on material we didn't study. I turned in an assignment 2 minutes late and he wouldn't give me credit. Then he didn't give me credit for an assignment because he said I plagiarized it. AWFUL!
Had a 89.83 and he wouldn't round up, would of got all A's if so. Almost like he doesn't care about his students success.
This is one of the worst classes I have taken. I do note feel it was well prepared. Questions asked in forums were often answered a week later. Ex of what was expected was posted an hour after the assignment was due. New assignments were posted on canvas days from being due. There are no rubrics to tell you what is expected. Pure torture.
I feel dumber after a lecture. Lectures are a waste of so much time, he just rambles. There is no teaching happening here. Only learning you'll get from this class is from reading the book. I can't believe I payed money to take this class. At least I got an A & the credits out of it.
Be ready, he does pay great attention to details of assignments he will take points off. Never used the textbook required, YAY $280 wasted! His tests are not easy. In other words, youll have to just read and pick your best answers. Do all your work just like he wants it to be done and be on time, every point counts!
He is a fair grader but isnt forgiving with deadlines or lack of attendance. You have to do the reading if you want a chance to get credit. Be prepared to be called out to answer questions, pop quizzes, grades, and discussions during class. If you are sensitive this isnt the professor for you.
Mr. Cobbs is a warm, hysterical man who made class time fun and interactive. He really made sure to interact with everyone.
Prof Cobbs keeps things fun and engaging, but you need to stay on top of the work. Definitely use unstuckstudy along with the free textbook to prep for his tests.
