Finally, someone who can explain math in a manner that the rest of us can understand!

HE is very clear when explaining the material but the tests are not that easy. He is willing to help you with anything but he does not give you the grade. He will tell you all you need to know and very clearly but you have to work if you want a good grade.

I thought Dr. Darbro was a great professor. He made the material very easy to understand, and was willing to answer all questions. Calc 1 and 2 were both challenging with him, but nothing too hard.

he's a great guy, he makes the material really easy to understand, you will have to buy a calculator ($100) that sucks but other than that little downside, it's a awesome class and experience.

first off the appearance thing is just the default, not from me. Anyway Doug is a very good professor, he is very clear on the subjects he teaches. I would suggest anyone take him.

He is willing to work with you if you are having trouble and he makes sure you knwo what's going on and how to do what you need to do. He does talk a lot about golf though.

Dr. Darbro is the best teacher i have ever had! ive had him for 2 math classes now and hopefully i'll have him for more. he helps the students and he is fun talking with the class. i would suggest him to anyone who has to take any math class!!!

I hated math before I had Dr. Darbros class. Now I don't mind going to class and I know I can actually understand what he's talking about.

He is a great teacher and makes everything so clear and fun. I like how he is so down to earth and knows how to make a connection. I will admit that as a first-time freshman taking a 150 class, I was kinda worried about how hard it would be, but he makes it a great class.

This is the first time in my entire life that math has ever made sense. Not only that, but I really like it! I might even take an elective math class from him in the spring! Dr. Darbro is fantastic, and everyone - especially those who aren't math-minded - should try to take a class he teaches!

I wasn't looking forward to statistics but Darbro is intelligent and friendly. He cares about your grade as much as you do.

He is a great teacher. He's willing to speed up or slow down depending how everyone is doing. Willing to answer questions and work with you outside of class. I would DEFINITELY recommend him!

By far the best professor I've had. He was a stand in for Bostick for our class, and even though the class wasn't easy. He made it easy to understand, which is amazing, considering he's from KY :) You will learn more about finance in 2 hours than Jerry Ruby's entire quarter! And it's Math Class!

Hes a great teacher!! Hes so much fun and he makes the class interesting. He makes sure everyone has the material down pat before he moves on!!!!

Darbro is by far my favorite professor. He's an excellent teacher. He definately knows his material and explains it at a pace anyone could keep up with. Don't be apprehensive to take his Statistics Class. It's not as hard as it sounds!

If you love using a calculator, this is the class for you. However, if you're planning on doing any actual physical computation, don't get your hopes up. Other than the extreme use of the TI-84 this class was alright but its hard to pay attention when the title is Statistics 250 but the work reflects Calculator Operation 101.

He made me like math, I hated it in HS... and now I get it and love it! He is super nice, easy to understand & tells you shortcuts that make it a breeze! <3 him!

Hands down the best prof. I've had while attending Shawnee State University. He explains the material very well and helps anyone who has a problem.

I have taken 2 classes with him. He is very helpful and keeps you interested (and I hate math)! It was a challenge for me because I'm just not a math person. However, I do reccommend him. He is a great professor who will cut ya some slack as long as you GO TO CLASS! Very gun-ho on attendence! He'll make ya laugh too. I have tons of respect for him.

I would love to have this guy for every Math class and as far as that goes..I would have him for every Class if he taught it!!! 'Cause he's just that good!

i love this guys he is a wonderful teacher, i would be a math major if i thought i could have him for every class. He makes even the most complicated things seems simple if you have the chance you definately need to take this professor!

Dr. Darbro is easily the best and most likable professor I've had so far. I used to hate math but now I get excited to go to his class every day. More professors should be like Dr. Darbro, for sure.

One word..AMAZING!! He was willing to help anyone and made the class fun! I still remember the stuff we went over and I can't tell you anything I did on HS. He talks a lot about his kids and golf which makes him more on our level of comfort! Not to mention he's easy on the eyes! :) I definitely recommend him for anyone he makes math easy!!!!!!!

Wonderful prof! I hate math and everything that has to do with math, but he makes it very easy to understand! But if you miss a class you will fall very far behind.

I had him for both Stats and finite...TAKE HIM! all you have to do is show up...no txt AND u pass! It's pretty basic. He doesn't require you to use any heavy books which is nice! Some weight off of my shoulders. Explains everything in class and will not make you feel stupid for not understanding! He is a very patient man...and understanding...TAKE HIM NOW...or you will regret it!

I hate math, but it's required to graduate. I took statistics with him, and I actually got it. Not 100 on every test this is my universe got it, but know what I'm doing because I will have to use this again got it...which is really all I needed. This prof makes math stink less!

Dr. Darbro is a great professor and I would recommend him to anyone. I am horrible at Math but he made me understand it better than most professors have. If you take good notes and attend class you should pass. If you miss a lot do not take Dr. Darbro.

He is a great teacher, no cell phone usage and you get a cheat sheet for tests. It's really easy for a statistics class.

I am in his class right now and I am glad I chose him as a teacher. He's very down to earth and easy to talk to and get along with. He seems very helpful and very determined to help every one succeed. He is very strict on the cell phone rule but it's no big deal bc that's rude to text during class n e way! He is an excellent professor!

Awesome!! I loved being in his classes (also took Math1500) he made it easy to learn the material and used everyday life matters in class to help gain a grasp on the course material. He is the best Mathematics teacher at SSU point-blank-period.

He was great. He teaches you how to do everything on paper, then on the calculator. He is always willing to help out and he makes sense.

I have never ever been good at math of any kind so I was more then a little worried when I was advised to take Statistics but Darbro is the best I understand everything I'm more then happy with that class.

BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. He goes out of his way to make the lessons as simple as possible. I would say the best class time to sign up for however would be any twice a week class in the morning. He always teaches well, but he can go over things better and slower and easier if he has a longer class period. LOT of info to takein COME TO CLASS!

He is a great prof. i'm farily well at math but some of the things that I didn't understand he helped me with. If you get him talking about The University of Kentucky Basketball team or golfing, it's easy to get him off topic because he loved both of them. Also his two little girls that he adopted from China, he talks about them a lot as well

I'm not very good at math and still did well in his class. He gives easy alternative processes for many types of problems. He made statistics fairly easy for me to understand.

Dr. Darbro helps you understand the material. You don't need to buy the book, but you will need to use the online access code, which is $85. If you need stats only to fufill a GEP req. this is your guy. Show up to class every week, and try, and he'll help you out.

Very nice, helpful, and friendly professor. However, he progress very slowly, is far too laid back, and grades too easily. This does mean you'll understand the little material you cover. You have to try to not get an A, but you'll learn little. Just depends on your educational priorities.

He is a great teacher that actually wants all his students to get A's. You need to study to do well on the tests, but you get a cheat sheet every time. I would highly recommend!

He is super helpful. Will answer all of your questions and is really good at explaining what to do. You will have homework everyday through mystatlab which is pretty easy. Just DO NOT by the book because you will need to buy the online version to get mystatlab program.

Loved taking his class and wished he taught more than just stats. He makes the class topics really make sense and explains how to use the fancy calculators. Highly recommend him.

I had DR. Darbro for an online class. I did not do great in it, but it was at no fault of the professor. He was very nice and kept to the syllabus. I work full time and I'm taking 5 classes so I am very busy. He did not give a lot of work which was very helpful and you actually learn in his lectures. I would take him again.

If you have to take finite take Darbro's online course!! Both the midterm and final are multiple choice, just make sure to watch the videos, he explains the information very well and makes the content easy.

He is wonderful

Being that this is a online course; this professor makes it clear that if you do not watch the videos and do the corresponding homework, you will fail. However, if you watch the videos, do the homework, take the tests, and ask for help if needed, you will be okay.

The course is clear cut and each student holds their success in their own hands. He will help you with any problems as long as you are making an attempt to do the material covered in the videos.

If you have the self-discipline to watch the videos, are willing to do the homework assignments, and will honestly review the material until you know you know it, this is a great course to take. As Dr. Darbro states in one of his videos, "Math is not a spectator sport." If you don't have the discipline needed, take a traditional class.

I took Dr. Darbro for an online course in the Spring 2016 semester and I could not be more pleased! I've never been one who enjoys math, I've always struggled with it. His class was very informative and applicable to life. Watch the videos for instruction and do the MyMathLab homework on time, a good grade is very possible. I highly recommend him!

Online lectures are normally 30-40 minutes long. They aren't always the most exciting thing to watch, but they are clear and easy to follow.

A lot of homework but the work was online so it wasn't terrible. Would take again.

An awesome professor that genuinely wants everyone to do well! Very willing to help answer any questions and responds to emails very quickly. Makes the course enjoyable and not boring. One of my favorites that I have ever taken and would definitely recommend his online course!

I was weary about taking an online class but I am so glad I took this class. You have to have your own sense of responsibility to pass this class though, if you do not watch the online videos, you will not pass. He also offers extra credit sometimes to the people who actually watch the videos. A+ teacher

Best online class ever; didn't feel like the typical online class. He actually teaches over the internet. As long as you watch the videos, take notes during it & you'll have a good overall standing.

He is a great professor. You have to watch the videos to pass! No way around the assignments and watch the videos, it is an easy class!

He is the best math professor I have ever had. He explains all of the problems in detail and show you how to do it the easiest way possible so YOU the student can understand how to do the math problem and learn the material at the same time.

Dr. Darbro was specific and uses lots of examples in the videos. There are required videos for 2-3 hours each week, along with a My Math Lab assignment. If you do the videos, assignments, and study guides, you are set. Dr. Darbro was accessible during office hours, easy to get along with, and very friendly and approachable. Would definitely retake!

The online format for Applied Finite is a lot better in my opinion because you can pause his videos & watch them again if you need to, whereas in class you only get that one chance. Darbro has taught this class in this format for a while now & I think he's really good at it. Just put forth the effort & you won't have any trouble passing.

Dr. Darbro is a great professor and he made taking math online a breeze. Also, in finite math, you actually learn things that you will use throughout your life.

I took an easy math class online with Dr. Darbro. He provides some videos which some might find useful. The class involved some basic math life skills.

Make sure you watch all the videos and you'll be a shoe in. Write down what you needed to look up during the study guide for the final and the calculator steps and you'll pass

The class I took was online, but Dr. Darbro made the videos enjoyable to watch with some witty banter thrown in. He does have random quizzes in the videos, so you have to watch them to get a good grade and understand the lessons.

He was very good at explaining things, when you had difficulty. The class was online. There was a lot of homework, but it was manageable and not too hard.

He knows how to explain topics clearly. The videos are great, though they could use some editing. He does not make you waste time reading the text book, uses lectures for everything.

Really great videos. My advice would be to take notes to help guide you through the MSL assignments and split up each lecture vid throughout the week so you dont feel overwhelmed. Open note tests & you can replace midterm grade w final. Assignments are easy and you get several attempts. Best and easiest math class Ive taken honestly!

Dr. Darbro has clear expectations and the homework assigned follows his video lectures. Take notes. Communicate early and often if you get stuck.
