I was at a club in San Juan Capistrano (Swallows Inn) last month and saw Prof J playing in a country band! They were really very good. Great teacher. Taking him this semester. Very fair.

This Prof. loves what he does for a living! there are tons of extra credit opportunities. he shows you what will be on the test through the study guides. he even lets you use cheat sheets on the tests as well. He also makes you work with the people around you. Text books are REQUIRED! attendance is not mandatory but show up and take notes!!!

basically this is the best class EVER! well, that is if you like accounting. even if you dont though he is a great prof. very easy going. good sense of humor and really wants everyone in the class to do well. goes above and beyond what most prof's will do to make sure that everyone does as well as possible.

One heck of a Acct professor! lets you use "cheat sheets" on test. Material on the test WILL be on the study guide he hands out a couple days before and lets you work on it with classmates and shows you how to do it. tons of extra credit! just show up on time and you will receive! high use of textbook! homework is not mandatory!!! got B+

This professor is very easy! You do need to do the reading to understand the lectures but as long as you attend class during the reviews for the exam you'll pass for sure! Drops the lowest exam score and gives out extra credit.

Managerial Accounting is not an easy class, but professor Johnson helps you to pass it with a good grade.Homework for each chapter(he gives homework solutions),6exams that you can drop the lowest score. You can have a note card in the exams. Study practice test and do your homework to get an A.He insists on attendance too much!

Super nice and laid back teacher...basically he goes over the powerpoint lectures for a part of the class, and then the rest of the time you get into groups and work on ex. problems. I didn't learn much bc no one sat around me so I just sat by myself..half the class never came bc he doesn't take attendance. Got a B from studying textbook

Johnson is a fantastic professor. He explains what can be a tedious subject so clearly and takes the time to make sure everyone is on the same page. What I really loved was how kinesthetic his class was; he lectures a topic, then has everyone do a related problem. The best way to learn accounting! Overall this class is pretty easy to get an A especially with the study guide. One thing i don't like about this professor is that he just throws info and does not really go in depth. although he does make himself available if u need help. As far as his lecture in class goes it could easily be self taught because he goes straight from the book.

Doug is a caring teacher. I was terrified bc I heard so many horror stories about accounting but turns out the easiest class I have ever taken. It can be hard for some, but if you just ask. I have seen him teaching students who dont understand the material after class is dismissed. Do hw before test, because it helps a lot. GO TO CLASS or fail.

Intermediate acct: The material is difficult in this class, but Prof Johnson does a great job streamlining things down to a practical level. He is very clear on what he expects on exams. Test are very frequent though, about every 2 weeks. So you will be busy. Important to study the practice material before tests.

One of the best accounting teachers I've come across. Intermediate Accounting is essential to a accountant's knowledge and Professor Johnson teaches the material in a clear, easy to understand fashion. I would recommend coming to lecture to get a feel for the material then reading the chapter before doing homework. Tests get harder by the end.

Great Professor. Took him for 110 during summer. Just show up and do the work(all done on the computer), and you'll get an A+. Good sense of humor, extremely helpful, and is very clear on what needs to be done. If I hadn't taken Morgan for 101 first, I definitely would stick with Doug. Little to no homework as most work is done in class.

I LOVED Johnson. I totally wish I had taken him for 101. If I did my C probably would've been an A as I understood 101 in his review better then I did while in the class. Professor Johnson is the one who convinced me to change my major to accounting after taking only one class. I only went to class 50% of the time and did not get marked down in any way, but I suggest going to the class to understand the material and make it easier on you.

Most will resort to self-learning because during lectures he briefly goes over the material and only has time to hit the main points of each chapter. Doug is the reason I am focusing in accounting. He somehow found a way to make the most boring of subjects easy and interesting. He answers all your questions, and will help you out during office hours. Ask questions, do the study guides and make an awesome notecard and you will be golden. Not an easy A, but a well-earned A.

Professor Johnson explains things really easily, show up take maybe a page of notes which he usually will tell you what to write and even has practice problems online if you have trouble as well as the online homework helps your grade and is easy. STUDY his study guides and it's a guaranteed B or more on the test, besides that just study his slides

He explains everything in a very easy way and he relates the class to the real world. You will do great in the class if you do the test review sheets as they are similar to the tests.

I followed Prof Johnson to OCC after taking his 1A class at Irvine Valley College. I really enjoy his teaching style and he really wants everyone to succeed. Accounting can be very boring, but he does his best to make the class fun and interesting. I highly recommend him!

I had no background in accounting so the subject was completely new to me. However, Prof J does a really good job explaining the material in a way that's understandable. He's super straight forward with the grading system and keeps you entertained. I really enjoyed the class. He's a really cool person. Study and put the time in and it will pay off.

STUDY FROM THE STUDY GUIDE, had no accounting background before this class, got a B as my final grade, the final is the easiest one. He keeps the class very chill, tells random stories. Barely any extra credit opportunities though.

The grade is primarily composed of tests, but Johnson goes over everything you need to do very thoroughly and the book he gives helps. Pay attention, read, take notes and you'll succeed in this class.

This subject is hard to grasp but Professor Johnson does a solid job of breaking it down. You have to read the book to pass the tests - the class is test heavy. Professor was not good at responding to e-mails. He is not good at updating grades canvas, in fact the grade we earned on our final was not published, nor was our participation grade.

Professor J was awesome. He really cares about his students taking something away from this excel for accounting/finance class. As someone who is an adult with a full time job I was easily able to manage an 8 week summer course. I have worked in accounting for over 15 years and I still learned something from each class. Definitely highly recommend.

I thought I knew Excel. I did not. Project J knows his stuff and taught me everything I need to know in business today like Pivot table. Very understandable class for all levels.

This class was challenging for me mostly because of the material but Prof J made learning fun. If you put in the work and shows you care he will do everything to ensure you suceed in class. Do the homework, show up to zoom with camera on and put in the work. Tests are taken on Wiley same as the homework.

I love Prof J so much that I took his managerial class at OCC after taking his financial class at IVC since he doesn't teach managerial at IVC. He's truly a gifted accounting professor who makes accounting easy and actually fun to learn. His exams are nearly identical to the practice exams. Just take him. You won't regret it!

I took this ethics course after completing his managerial course. I took this course to fulfill the CPA requirement. He makes his ethics class so easy and so engaging. You pretty much go through different accounting fraud scandals. You have 3 exams, 5 discussions, and a major case study. He makes this class so easy compared to other ethics courses.

He is very earnest and committed, but I still found it difficult to understand. It is a lot of material to learn and without any real-world experience, I struggled to make sense of it all. Uses online publisher materials for homework and tests.

I took Professor J for Accounting 101 and he is among the best professors at OCC. He acknowledges that accounting is not easy for everyone, but everyone can learn how to do it. All I can say is he provides everything you need. Watch the videos before class pay attention and you'll have a fantastic time, but most importantly don't think to much.

Prof. Johnson is my favorite professor I've had so far. He makes accounting really relatable and easy to understand. Homework is done through the textbook. The textbook is good for both accounting classes, so you only have to buy one textbook for both classes. There are 5 tests and a final. You drop the lowest of the 5 tests.
