Great Teacher, Extremely Bright, Lots of info, only skim reading!
Great to listen to, but hard tests.
Very hard tests. Must coome to class and get notes - must also read material. Does not teach from text. M/C questions can be tricky. Memorize names of people mentioned in class - will be on test in matching form!!!
Test are multiple choice, are very detailed thought. Its a 50 50 shot. he is interesting one guy jerked off on him, when he was doing his research.lol
one of the worst teachers. not sure how he is the dep. head and can't teach. VERY boring, didnt learn anything, doesnt teach anything and then tests you on it! I will never ever take him again- do not even take him if you are a SOC major like me!
great professor. tests are very hard. must go to class and must also read material

awful teacher- makes you read his boring book. doesn't teach anything in class- just rambles and then tests you on stuff u didn't learn. BORING CLASS
Excellent prof, difficult, fair. If you think he is hard, don't go to grad school. Pay attention and learn something.
Great teacher, loves teaching and learning and it shows. There for you if you need help if it doesn't conflict with his other duties. Interesting classes. I have taken him twice and recommend his classes.
Excellent teacher for an amazing class. Interesting in teaching and funny anyway. tests are hard but fair. If you like this class you can do good easily.
Intelligent and loves to teach and it shows. If youre interisted in the material, youll do fine. Absolutly need to study & read, but its fine. Youll walk out knowing a lot more. Highly recommended.
Great teacher. Very intelligent. Has fun in class. Learn a lot. Talk about current events in crime. Is there to help you. Deserves to be dept. head. Take his classes!!!!!
This class was hard, but really interesting. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 300 level class. Do NOT take it in summer - too much info to memorize!!!
Nice, smart, wants you to learn and understand. If you don't find the material interesting you won't like him or will think he is hard/boring. Must read/study for tests. Grades fair, attendance policy but for extra credit. 4 tests (final included) and one paper. Will take again if I can!
Great professor, loves to teach and really tries to help students. attendence is for extra credit and usually gives a chance for extra credit on exams too. 3 exams, one paper. All exams are multiple choice, fill in blank, true false but they are a little tough. you have to study for sure
3 tests, one paper...attendance for extra credit. Overall a really interesting class.
interesting guy, tells some funny stories. if you dont miss classes you get extra credit. 3 exams with about 100 questions, not too difficult if you study-he gives review sheet. 1 paper, short, easy subject. keeps you entire class time, but interesting to begin with and he does a great job teaching.

i took him for deviant behavior and his stories alone are worth it alone to show up to his class. He is a decent teacher, take decent notes and read a little bit and youll be fine. He is a bit odd though
Wonderful professor. The class is hardly boring. I have learned so much in this class and I would definitely take another class from him.
Nice, smart, total goofball. He gets distracted very easily. If today's lecture doesn't suit you it is easy to set him off on a tangent. Since his stories are entertaining, treat him like a cable box. Don't like the program? Change it! Challenge level is what you should expect if you're taking the class.
goes on tangents like whoa, especially when encouraged by students. stories are very entertaining. subj matter is interesting. 3 or 4 exams with t/f, multiple choice, matching, fill in blank - pretty hard, STUDY! 1 paper at end of semester, pretty easy to write. if not for anything else, take it for the stories he'll tell!
Interesting topics obviously but tests are unbelievely hard compared to his lecture style. Paper was easy.
Great professor, good class very interesting. All test come straight from your notes, so no excuses if you don't pass. If you don't pass, then you're just lazy.
Great Prof.
you should attend every class because you get extra credit for it..read the textbook, take good notes, and study for exams...not that bad
Dev. behav-weird funny guy, study guides for 3 exams are really long(5pgs, study and come to every class-a ton of notes, paper on labeling either yourself/others. Not a bad class, just sometime a bore to sit through. Although some of the things he says are entertaining. He says that when peope give him the middle finger then he is "being fingered".
I really like this teacher you should take him. Social Dev. class is real interesting you learn about topics that are really different.
Pryor is a cool professor with a lot of stories, 3 exams 1 paper just do the study guide and all the reading
Deviant Behavior was such a fun class, and challenging too. Coming to class was always enjoyable, he's charismatic and knows how to make a bunch of twentysomethings laugh. Tests are tricky but do the reading and go to class and you'll be fine and learn a lot in the process.
I think Dr. Pryor used to be a hippie back in the day.:) Took him for Deviant Behavior. I appreciated his knowledge and ability to remain unbiased. The class definitely forced me to challenge my judgements on certain things. Quite a rewarding class, in that you learn more about yourself and other people.
HE WAS THE BEST. HAD HIM FOR THE FIVE WEEK SUMMER COURSE AND IT WAS A FOUR HOUR CLASS BUT HE KEPT OUR ATTENTION.THERE WAS ALOT TO LEARN IN A SHORT TIME BUT HE MADE SURE THAT WE FULLY UNDERSTOOD THE TOPIC AND HE WAS EXTERMELY HELPFUL.I BARELY READ THE BOOK AND STILL GOT AN A-...
He was really cool. Great stories from his research. knows a lot on the subject and keeps it interesting the whole time. wish i would have had him for a regular semester. tests are huge but easy, gives study guide, most answers from lecture so don't skip class.why would u want to anyway. hes fun! one 5pg paper, easy. highly recommend.
OK this is what you need to do to get a good grade. First, take good notes (%,#, Names etc). If it comes out of his mouth write it down unless he tells you not to. After you take the note, read the chapters he talked about in class or the other way around. Answer every question on the exam guide. It might seem like he'd never ask it but he will.
Great teacher. Always willing to help. Tests were easy but the study guides were a pain. Overall good class I got an A.
great teacher! just take good notes and actually study and read and you'll do great! gives extra credit if you miss no classes or only a few, lets you use a notecard for exams, and is available to meet with for missed notes! interesting topic and he is very knowledgableand makes it fun!
Great Professor! I enjoyed his Interpersonal Violence class very much. Mid-Term & Final were decent, he is a fair grader over-all. You can tell he really cares about his job & his students, he's very passionate about what he teaches. Very helpful as well. I will probably take another one of his classes in the future.
Great professor. So knowledgeable and really cares for his students. Midterm & final - allows notecard. Debate. 1 short paper and 1 long one. Offers extra credit. He is an incredible teacher, even if you don't need this class - take it.
too difficult and detail oriented for an intro class. don't take if you are a junior or senior
Nice professor, he rambles a bit. He tries his best to be helpful and cares about his students more than most professors.
stay away if this is not your major. whoever tells you this class is easy is lying. Pryor is fine. not as helpful as people are giving him credit for. His tests are impossible. Class is very boring as well
Don't need text books. Come to class to get extra credit. Take good notes because that's whats on the test, even the percentages. Interesting class with lots of stories. Discuss sensitive topics
Write down everything that comes out of his mouth. EVERYTHING. His exams are 125 questions but there not hard if you study for them. He gives an 8 page study guide which is basically the whole test. If you fill that out then youll do great. One paper that is not longer than 6 pages. Overall awesome class very interesting.
Minimester class, fast! He was fair, outlines the material on the board, made it clear. Nearly broke his back trying to help and adjust if you needed him to. Note-taking was INTENSE. HE TESTS YOU ON THE NOTES! Great prof! Reading isn't too mandatory, but it helped. Exams are 120 Q: T/F, MC and fill-in-blank, one six page paper. Interesting class.
Dr. Pryor is amazing. He is so knowledgable and tries to make the class interesting. If you want to do well though, you have to do the readings and go to class. You have to take notes on every single thing he says in class. If you do, you'll do fine. Not an easy class if you aren't willing to put in the work. But if you do, you'll love his class!
Mustache is a pearl... enough said
note taking.. tooo intense. test is way too difficult. study guide doens't even help at all. avoid!
I'm in his Deviant Behavior class now and note taking is INTENSE. He talks way too fast and writes everything on the board. I'd like the class better if he used powerpoints instead of writing a bunch of jibberish on the board.
Professor Pryor tells cool stories sometimes and classes aren't too boring. Tests are hard. The study guides are very long and confusing.
I enjoyed this class so much. He is a really nice guy who will be glad to answer any questions. As long as you take notes and write what he says you should be fine. The study guides are lengthy, but helpful. He also gives a curve too. I recommend taking this class if you're interested in criminology, he has a lot of knowledge on the topic.
HE IS GREAT!!! Must take. You will be good as long as you take notes... EVERYTHING he says. Also, must read the books. If you don't miss class he gives you 8 extra points and two points if you keep your name tag for the whole semester. He was very helpful and cares about his students a lot. Go to his office hours if you need to!!!
He's an awesome teacher. Take his class. He's funny and not too difficult.
Dr. Pryor is awesome! He is so knowledgable and loves to teach. There were 2 tests and a final and 2 papers. His tests are tough, but fair. If you go to class and study for exams, they won't be too bad. He is so funny and nerdy, I would definitely take him again.
Awesome professor... knows his stuff and will go out of his way to help you. Opportunity for extra credit. Test are challenging if you don't study. Take notes on everything he says because he will test you on it!
Dr. Pryor is a great professor. The class requires reading but it's worth it. The study guides are long but very detailed and a lot of help. They aren't mandatory but there for assistance.
He is one of the best professors I've had at towson, he is so knowledgeable on his material and does expect some work from you. You get study guides for the exams that are basically just the power point outlines, but if you go to class and take detailed notes you will be fine. If you go in and talk to him during office hours he loves it
3 test (almost 100 questions) If you barely study you'll get a C just from coming to class.. There are - 2-3 page papers .. Very easy. Extra credit for turning in name tag at the end of semester.
As long as you study for the exams and take good notes, you will do fine in the class. If you don't take good notes or don't come to class, then you won't pass. he gives you 8 extra credit points towards your final grade if you don't miss any classes, and 5 extra points if you miss one class, and 2 extra credit points if you miss two classes.
Great professor that is very passionate about the subject of criminal justice. Class is pretty easy but lectures are boring. Take good notes and complete the study guides and you will do fine in the class. He also gives 8 extra credit points for perfect attendance. So go to class and study and you will get an A.
Straight forward professor. Not an easy class. Take a lot of notes but all needed. 3 exams based off it. Memorization is EVERYTHING in passing exams. If you're not good at that don't take it. Reading textbook is optional if you can memorize his notes which is what i did. Study guide is exact and extra credit is offered, 2 essays easy if you try.
Course is somewhat challenging, it is important to read the textbook and go to lectures cause he doesn't always cover what's in the text but excepts you to know it for the test. And lectures usually contain answers to test. YOU MUST TAKE DETAILED NOTES bc slides aren't available on BB. 3 tests Lectures are fun but he often goes off topic.
The professor is very passionate about this subject in his lectures. He goes off topic and has a lot of stories. But mostly what is on his notes and what he says is in his exams. Long exams with a lot of information in it. But he is very helpful if need help.
Professor Pryor is a really good professor! He grades things on time, and gives pretty good feedback. He teaches off powerpoints, but also goes into detail beyond them, so you can't miss the class. The tests are pretty straightfoward, but he expects you to pull vocab words from your head for there is no word bank. If you study, you will pass.
Doug Pryor is an amazing professor. He really shares his experiences and knows what he is talking about. Most people would probably say "Oh he asks to much of you" that is completely wrong. If you wish to actually learn something he's the professor to take. Things to do to succeed: take good notes, do the reading, come to class, and ASK FOR HELP!
Unless you need this class for your major, do not take with Pryor. He purposely makes his tests harder than they need to be to the point where more than 40% of the class failed his tests. Goes off of his personal notes, doesnt post ANYTHING on BB. Hes a nice guy, but he should have retired years ago. Makes things harder than they need to be.
Always has a good attitude and throws in jokes to make some more difficult topics easier to listen to. The content of the course is so interesting the tests are straightforward. The professor gives a clear study guide and is willing to help. There were 3 tests and 1 final paper, but all very interesting and fairly easy to complete.
Professor Pryor is a great professor but his grading is sometimes difficult to understand. He did a great transition to online learning due to COVID-19 but his grading does not make sense, there is a raw score and an "actual" score that you have to understand. Other than that, he was a great professor and I would recommend him to anyone!
Required reading of "The Tender Cut", a graphic book about self-harm with no clearly defined alternative assignment. Class content focuses heavily on the book, almost unavoidable to not read. Don't take this class if you're easily triggered, there's midterm and final content about the book along with a book report. 5 assignments in total
You're graded on two exams, three think exercises, and weekly discussions. The exams are open notes, and you have 2 hours for the final. He gives feedback on your discussions, which is helpful. You also have an opportunity for extra credit. He is super nice, but doesn't really hold your attention. You really have to force yourself to pay attention
Hes such a sweet man. Yes theres a textbook but he provides great PowerPoints that can be used instead of the textbook. Do the study guides he gives, theyre just like the test. Also do the forums theyre all extra credit.
Take this class. Attendance isn't mandatory and all the lecture notes are posted online. There is a book, but you do not have to read to get an A. Just study for the three main exams, and you'll be fine, and he curves the exams.
Prof Pryor is by far the best Prof I have had. He is kind and caring towards his students he wants everyone to get an education. He is very knowledgeable in what he teaches. He only assigns 3 think exercises which are at least 3 page written papers but you only have to do at least 2 of them to pass, they are easy. Tests are very demanding so study!
Nice professor, but he just didn't suit the way I learned. He was lecture heavy and the lectures were basically just definitions from the textbook and his own personal storytimes. Exams were both easy and hard even with studying (manageable though). Final is online. Really boring lectures so I suggest taking notes to keep yourself awake.
Prof. Pryor is one of the best professors I've ever had. He makes the class very interesting and funny to attend, and the content is fascinating and presented in a very easy to understand manner. There's a lot of required reading, but it's still covered in class, so as long as you're on top of that it's great! Few assignments and 3 exams required.
Professor Pryor is great. He is older, but has been at Towson for many years. He knows what he's doing. The class is quite lecture heavy, so prioritize going to class... it will help tremendously. He only has 3 exams as well as 2 short essays. The exams are lengthy and pretty challening so be prepared for that.
He is so lecture heavy that it made it difficult to process all the information he gives us.The study guides he gives us for exams are like 6 pages long excepts us to remember everything on it and doesn't grade fair.
If your taking this Professor, be prepared to read, read, read. His lectures are tough to understand and you will likely not find the answers for your study guide on them, so be prepared to resort to your textbook, which is another nightmare. He makes last-second changes to his exams, and his study guides are also confusing to fill. Good Luck
This class was amazing! The lectures are slightly boring but bearable. He curves every exam, there are 3 exams and 2 papers. No other grades are in the class. He gives study guides for every exam; if you do them, you will likely pass them. A nice man, and genuinely cares about his students. Please take him!!
Great guy. Talks pretty monotone so it can make you a little sleepy but the material is really interesting. 3 exams worth 25% of your grade. Last 25% comes from 2 projects. Only takes attendance 8 random days out of the semester and if you're there you get extra credit. Powerpoints are posted online so you dont really have to go.
Pryor is a very nice and personable guy. There are 3 exams, you can have one note card to help you. He usually curves slightly and they aren't too hard if you look back at his slides. One paper that you can choose from a few prompts for. Pretty lowkey class. My second class with him.
Dr. Pryor loves what he teaches and its clear in his lectures. He takes attendance 10x but only grades 8, so you have 2 skips. There are 3 exams from the powerpoints and readings but you have a 5x8 index card to use- exams are easy. Paper is also easy and he gives you two different choices. 2 extra credit film options as well. Definitely recommend!
Easy class if you follow the lectures. It's only 3 exams and 2 papers. Exams are curved. Lectures get kinds boring and he rambles. Great professor and very caring. Take him if you have the chance!
The lecture can be quite boring, but he gives great lectures. The exams are not hard if you study and understand the concepts more thoroughly. He might look intimidating because of his blue eyes, but trust me, he is not haha, he is very understandable and kind, but strict on grading. He takes attendance for extra credit 8 times randomly, be aware!
This professor is very passionate about what he teaches, and likes to make sure that everyone understands the material he is going over. There are only 3 tests, and two papers required for this class, and they aren't crazy hard. He can often ramble, but if you listen his stories can be very interesting!
Class was really interesting however exams are hard and the course is graded by only 5 things so if you mess up on one you might be cooked. Lectures were super long but if you sit in the front I feel like it is more interesting. He posts all the powerpoints online and 90% of the test material is pulled straight from there. Lot of vocab so be ready
He's a chill guy, but the content was pretty outdated and his exams were unnecessarily difficult. Study guides weren't accurate to what was on the exams. Lectures were very monotonous. Only four assignments total, not including extra credit points.
