Makes class fun and involves the students. Definately a good Professor!
Good teacher and very helpful. Medium difficulty.
Nice guy, course is meant for Soci but still has a conservative bias.
Too heavily weighted towards Pyschology. Earth to Sociology get a new text book.
Class is somewhat boring, teaches directly from the text.
Great teacher. He makes going to class fun and interesting.
If you like avg. this is your man. Fools most in to thinking he is a nice guy.
Really boring, teaches too many coarses.
Very boring, extremely easy. Went to this class about 5-6 times and got an easy A.
Spiel is directly from text. Don't look for any original thinking from this professor. His lectures are uninspiring, he's a company man.
Great Teacher. Very Interesting lectures, very enthusiastic and well prepared every day. I liked his teaching style so much that I took all of his classes.
Very long winded!
i really enjoyed his class, he really made the subject matter more interesting. Plus the way the class is set up, it is much easier to do better if your not good at taking big tests
Very methodical, very well planned, very organized, very thorough--let me repeat: very thorough. Explains things in great detail, gives hand outs with the details, has a website with the details, etc. Every class he teaches is about the same, butI like!
great professor!
spent to much time on administrative asspects of class
very fun guy! easygoing and always available to talk to. loves to tell funny, random stories. no tests, just quizes and one paper. easy A if you show up for class! LOVE HIM!
What a great class! It was my favorite all semester. I really enjoyed having small quizes weekly, as opposed to 3 big exams. Go to class and make an A. Overall, Adams was excellent!
Pretty redundant in what he says. Go to class, he gives excellent bonus points. Kind of boring though.
Whoa... boring! Thinks hes funny but hes not. Laughs at his own jokes.. Its an ok class to take, not that hard, if you can stand to sit through it.
Very smart but repeats alot. Just need to go to class one day a week and you can ace the quiz. Great teacher.
Very easy. Horribly boring though. Just show up, write down the bullets on the board, and do the crossword and you will ace the class.
Very nice and helpful. Pretty easy class and he cares about the students. If you have any questions about his grading, go to him! He could possibly help you. : )
This is by far the easiest class i have ever taken. All you have to do is look over the study guides and take one quiz a week, write two short papers and a paper for the final and if you write them you pretty much get an A. Plus there is like 30 bonus points possible. Easy A...he is a great guy and a good teacher also and asks many pertinant ?'s
Awesome instructor. If not clear on something, he will explain it again if asked. Fun, though, not always interesting. Class was very easy. Skim the study guide or read a short chapter and the quizzes were a snap. Just 2 short papers and 1 longer one. He gives lots of extra credit. Great open discussions. Class actually applies to real life.
Dr. Adams is an awesome teacher, he just repeats himself a lot
Great teacher, whom is very sarcastic and very blunt and to the point, yet he does seem to repeat himself often, and is always asking for suggestions for class improvement and will then critique the comments for his and our pleasure. The book is needed for your writting assignments and you have the option of a book review or final exam.
Deadly boring. He has everything so standardized that its hard to keep interest during his lecture. Makes for an easy A though.
Take Criminology with Adams during the summer. It's so much fun, and he gives lots of grade opportunities.
I hated this class. Its easy if you go though. There are no tests except the final but you have a quiz every week. He offers only 20 bonus points.
Be sure and study for all of the quizzes- they add up at the end. READ the textbook and make notes or flashcards- most of the class is self-taught.
Does not give tests just quizzes each week. If you can get the outline, you don't have to go to class. Optional 10 page essay to substiture for the final.
hes a good teacher the only bad thing is that even tho he says u can retake up to 5 quizzes in the end, they CANT be quizzes u have ALREADY TAKEN so u better make sure u do well on them the first time or if u plan on retaking them in the end, make sure you just dont take the quiz if you dont know the material cuz you will be stuck with a bad grade
easy a. class is very easy if you go to class and read. very little readin per chapter. gives opportunity for extra credit, great teacher.. knows what he's talking about
This class was incredibly easy, and I consequently liked it very much, for it provided me with an easy A. The quizzes aren't bad. Go to class, copy the powerpoints, go over them for a little bit, do the 20 extra credit points, and an A is easily in your grasp (much less effort than other classes). I recommend this professor.
Class was boring, the tests were mindless, and his lecture was dull. This is one of the worst classes I've ever taken, but if you like EASY with a capital E, he's your man.
He's not very lively, and is unable to keep anyone's attention. We watch the simpson's every week in his class. His questions on the tests are mostly about the post-modern and other theories. they are multiple choice. We have a quiz on each chapter every thurs. If you read each chapter twice, you are guaranteed to make an A in this class.
He is a good teacher but not very enthusiastic. His class is easy if you actually go to class and take notes. He gives weekly quizes that can help your grade a lot if you do good on them.
Very interesting teacher with great personality..very laid back. Easy to do well in general soci class..weekly quizzes are based upon notes and book. Attendance is a plus to find out about 4 chances for extra credit (20 pts total). Great sense of humor. Really enjoyed class and topics covered.
EASY Class, just go to write down the outline. very boring other than that - suggest taking a laptop so you can do other homework or get on the internet. lectures really have nothing to do with what is on the quiz. He tends to ramble A LOT!
He's really cool and if you do what he says its an easy class.
Great professor. Realy enjoys teaching and is very nice. Gives a lot of extra credit, but you have to go to class to get it. Weekly quizes are pretty easy as long as you just pay attention and take notes. Of course it always helps to be somewhat interested in the subject too.
Very interseting class. Teacher very funny. Weekly quizzes, not bad. Have to read or at least skim the chapter and pay attention on Tuesdays. Get to watch movies or tv shows on Thursdays.
Pretty good class.
Professor Adams is an awesome teacher! I am taking him for general sociology. You do not have to ever go to class on Tuesdays and there are no tests! Just weekly quizzes every Thursday! The good thing is that he gives a ton of extra credit and wants you to do good Bad side you have to devote about an hour and a half to study for the quiz each week
He's a great teacher and can be taken advantage of easily. Read the chapters twice before weekly quizzes and do all the extra credit.
He is the easiest teacher I've ever had. He is hard if you DON'T STUDY FOR THE QUIZZES. Read over the chapter twice before the quizzes every week and you won't get below a B. Go to class if you want to on Tuesday, but if you're tired SLEEP. The only reason to go on Tuesday is to get a bunch of extra credit. It got me a 93. Do the extra credit!!!!!!
The class was one of the easiest. I only studied for the first weekly quiz and got an easy A in the class. Be sure to take good notes and glance over them before each quiz. Attendance isn't required, but I would highly suggest it because it makes studying a whole lot easier. He can be helpful...sometimes. I wouldn't take the class again.
I loved his class. Really Cool and Laid Back. You have a quiz every week and he gives a ton of bonus points. The quizzez are fairly easy ! If you read the chapters like you are suppose to of course. I would def. take him again !
I adore this class. I am seriously considering changing my major to Sociology because of him. Prof. Adams is laid back and gives a TON of extra credit. Make sure to go to class and READ the chapters before each quiz. The textbook is interesting...not boring at all. Overall, take Professor Adams and not any other person for Sociology.
Easy class. Study the vocab in the chapters of the quizzes and know how to apply it. I'm in the honors and it is an easy, easy A. Gives tons of extra credit. Tends to ramble a little, but NO TESTS, only quizzes and a book report for honors.
He was funny and i really enjoyed his class but you really do have to study for his test!
Dr. Adams is awesome. I had him for sociology and Fulbright Perspectives. He even invited my FP class over to a get together at his house to meet his family. This guy genuinely loves to teach and cares about his students. Gives you lots of extra cred. opportunities. Not that you need it, you read the chapter (like 20pgs) show up to class, get a 100%! Or pretty close...
Really passionate about his teachings, you should study for the tests, gives a lot of extra credit, and puts most of the notes on blackboard.
He is a very nice person and he teaches very easy but often less structured classes. Don't be late to class. Requires participation....really likes to get the students involved!
Very friendly and always avaialbe for questions and willing to work with students. Passionate about his department of study! Uses a lot of class participation. If you attend class and listen you should easily get an A.
This class was really easy. I think I only went maybe 6 or 7 times, and those were mostly for tests. This guy is extremely lenient, gives a ton of extra credit, and is just an all around good guy. I recommend this professor!
Great professor. I highly recommend him. Although attendance is not mandatory, he makes class interesting and gives out extra credit often. Fun class. I definitely enjoyed it and made an A, no problem.
I had this professor for Honors Gen. Sociology. He really cares about his students and wants to help in any way he can. He clearly enjoys teaching, which makes attending his class very enjoyable. Highly recommend.
He teaches according to his own beliefs, not the text, so it makes tests a little difficult. He gives out a lot of extra credi though.
By far one of the best professors I've had. I read every chapter required in the book and it will definitely prepare you for the bi-weekly quizzes. There are a few writing assignments and one huuuge book review (probably the worst part of the class). Dr. Adams is extremely funny/nice/interesting. I learned a ton in this class.
no homework besides 2 short written assignments. i just read the chapters the night before the tests and did pretty good on them, so the tests are pretty easy. as a teacher he likes to teach his opinion rather than the book. going to class is a waste of time, but it's an easy A if you read the chapter
you don't have to come to class to get an A. just study for the tests using the powerpoints and books.
You don't have to come to class in order to get an A. We had a test every other Friday, a final, and two short papers... read the book and follow the powerpoints that he puts on blackboard and you will be GOLDEN! Gives SO MUCH extra credit opportunities! I ended up with 60 points OVER a 100%... I'd definitely recommend him...
I was not too thrilled with having to take this class at first, but by the end of the semester I really enjoy going to class. He makes most lectures relatable and is willing to give extra credit to boost your grade. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Adams has a weird sense of humor and can be awekward at times but I loved this class. You don't necessarily have to go to class but if you go and pay attention you don't need to study much. Gives so much extra credit I think I earned 90 extra credit points with only 300 total points possible in the class. Definately take honors if possible!
By far one of my favorite professors at u of ark! easy to talk to, very understanding that his class isn't our only class. gives tons of extra credit. study the info on the slides and you'll be fine. if you don't make and A or B in this class...you obviously have no drive whatsoever and should go ahead and drop out of college now. ADAMS ROCKS!
Dr. Adams is awesome. He's really understanding and will let you take a project in whatever direction you want! He gives loads of extra credit and he's really enthusiastic about his material. He's really a great teacher, but you definitely have to read the book to pass the tests. He doesn't really go into depth in the lecture.
Great professor. Genuinely wants you to succeed and does all he can to help you. Many extra credit opportunities. Open minded to your ideas on assignments.
Very helpful! Great class... don't have to go but alot easier if you do!
BEST teacher I have ever had. He wants his students to succeed and does EVERYTHING he can to help. He knows his stuff, and makes the class VERY enjoyable. I got an A in the course. GO TO CLASS. Even tho he does not take attendance, I found the course very easy because I went to class. TAKE DR. ADAM'S CLASS!!
Had Adams for sociology and he was a great teacher he gives out a lot of bonus points so go to class his exams go from the text book so read the book. He grade easy for the writing assignments. For my final I wrote the optional 12 page essay and got an A on it
Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class helps you understand the material a lot more. Very helpful and approachable if you ever have any questions. I found the class to actually be really interesting and it's not even my major. Overall if you need this as a filler for your schedule take this class.
Makes class very interesting. Lots of bonus! If you email him, he will not email you back. If you go to class, the tests are a piece of cake!
Dr. Adams was really nice. Attendance wasn't mandatory but he made the class fun and the tests were easy without reading the book if you went to class. Gave a lot of extra credit and was really lenient about when assignments were due. Likes to take care of issues through graduate assistants which are nice and helpful also.
Attendance isn't mandatory at all, but I would go to class and copy the questions from "The Game" because they are basically the questions on the test. If you have MWF class, tests are every other friday which sucked. Tests are pretty easy if you go to class and study the game & book. Gives lots of extra credit! Extremely nice/funny guy.
I had him for General Sociology and Fulbright Prospectives. He doesn't take attendance, but I highly recommend going to class, and stay for THE GAME. The questions are almost identical to the test. He offers tons of extra credit. If you have a problem, TALK, not email, to him. If you take initiative, he'll usually give you the benifit of the doubt
This class is for first semester Fulbright freshmen. Taking it allows you eligibility to register for Spring classes early. TAKE IT. Dr. Adam's is great in this class. We usually just talk. Sometimes he brings in speakers that are interesting, like a lawyer who will answer ANYTHING. He also gets us pizza. That alone is worth it. :) 687
This class is super hard. If it wern't for the extra credit though, i would have gotten a C. Luckily i got an A
Dr. Adams is very funny and makes the class very interesting. Neither attendance nor tests were mandatory, you could make up all of the tests at the end of the year if you wanted. There were plenty of extra credit opportunities. He's great! Take this class!!!
Very interesting and fun teacher! WRITE DOWN EVERY QUESTION FROM "THE GAME". He says those aren't on the test, but literally every single one is. Stay til the end of class play or write it all down. So much extra credit it's hard not to get an A. I suggest reading the chapters because his powerpoints don't include everything on the test. Easy class
This professor is very passionate about the material the provides. He is interesting, funny, and keeps your attention. You didn't have to go to class, but I always enjoyed it (and I don't really like school). Pay attention to "the Game"!! Take advantage of the many extra credit opportunities.
Very interesting class, he is passionate about sociology and provides excellent examples to help you relate the material to current events. Pay attention to the game and know the textbook front to back
If you are disciplined enough to keep up with the Chapter Readings, and actually study, you will do great in the class! He and his Assistants are great. Just read the book, and attend class sometimes. It's not mandatory at all, and it just depends on how you learn better.
Do not take Adams. He makes you do a huge project. Test every other Friday. 2 papers. It's a lot of work. Yes it's easy but a lot of work goes into it. His graduate assistants are the best and deserve all the credit. Not him
Such an easy class. Doesn't take attendance and you can still do well if you don't go. He does get a little angry in class sometimes though.
Easy class. Just read the chapters before the tests and you will be fine. Don't have to attend class. Gives a lot of extra credit if you go to class and play 'The Game'. Easy A.
• Doesn't go into depth at all • Tries too hard to be the “cool” professor • 20 mins of lecture • Doesn’t test on material not covered in the lectures • Project is EXTREMELY simple • 2 essays we had to write were graded leniently – just follow the format • Doesn’t like to answer questions during class – “Not enough time” apparently
Actually attending this class has done me no good at all. Only lectures for 20 minutes and goes so fast you cant comprehend. Fascinating to listen to, but difficult to understand. Tests are easy if you study.
Attendance is not mandatory nor necessary. Lecture does not help for tests. Offers a lot of extra credit through games and other. Easy project. Easy essays. Cool teacher. Not clear in lectures, therefore not helpful for tests. Just read the chapters for the test and you should be fine. Very basic. Not meant to be too challenging.
This class is very easy if you go to class. The book was not mandatory but helps you get an A on the test. Tons of Extra credit I mean tons of extra credit if you go to class. I averaged a B on the tests but the extra credit gave me a super A+. You will have 6 tests, 2 papers, 1 project(easy 200pts), and a final exam. Tests are kind of hard.
You do not have to go to class but it is an easy way to get a ton of bonus points. Make sure you read the chapters before the test because that is all they are based on and try and stay for the game seriously, you get a ton of bonus.
Great class to take for an A if you put a small amount of effort into studying for the tests. Stay for the game and get bonus, it will raise your grade by multiple letters.
This class is very easy and interesting, great class for an easy A. All you have to do is read and outline the chapters before the test and you will do fine. Dr. Adams is a very busy man so he does not do much interacting with students outside the classroom; that being said the TA's that he uses are outstanding and incredibly helpful.
Fairly easy class if you are prepared to study. Explained well gives out a list of what will be on the test's. The book is not required, but recommended. Will at times say that there is a section in the book that will not be in lecture, but will be on test; that is the only time you will need it.
Told us to only study what was on his outlines, but on tests he would include a ton of info not on those outlines. Rambles on and on about things that don't pertain to the class. Doesn't know how to explain himself very well.
This dude is the greatest person of all time. The "Doogie" knows his stuff. Seriously he's the greatest professor of all time. Sociology is my life now.
He is a very good teacher. He realizes that most of his students are not taking it for their careers, so he does not make things too hard. You will have to read your book and study a tad bit, but it can be done. He gives lots of bonus if you go to class and he is fun to listen to. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Short and simple: 1. He doesn't do email- communication is MOST important for students and teachers. 2. Does NOT know how to stay on topic 3. Tests every other week... which is ridiculous. I stopped going to class and learned all of it from my book. Worst class.. couldn't sit there and listen to him ramble for an hour.
Adams was a pretty chill professor. Very helpful, and the class overall is really easy. There's a test every 2 weeks over the past 2 chapters, but if you pay attention, you're good. I'd recommend getting the book, helps out a lot, as Adams does not address everything. Attendance isn't mandatory and he has a "makeup exam day" if you miss an exam.
The good news: general sociology was pretty easy. A test every other week but it's only over 2 chapters. Attendance not mandatory, just read your book right before the test and you'll be fine. He's also a very lenient grader. The bad news: Good luck trying to get in contact with him if you run into a problem. He does not answer emails.
Dr. Adams is one of the best professors I have had at the U of A, and he truly cares about his students.
He gives awful lectures. Luckily they are only about 35 minutes then he goes into an optional "game" at the end of class where the participants get bonus points for answering questions correctly. There's a test every other week which is draining. The TAs for my class are great though. One of them does a study session the night before the tests.
Lectures (very boring) the first 30 minutes of class and then leads into optional gaming portion of class, if you win you can receive extra credit. Attendance is not mandatory. I always skip class, go to the review session held by the TA the night before an exam and makes A's on the exams. Typically there is an exam every two weeks.
The lectures are boring and everything in the powerpoint comes straight from the book, just in a terribly organized matter. I skipped class for a whole month and didn't review before a test and got an 80. Tests every two weeks but if you miss them you can make them up. The last half of class everyday is a game for extra credit if you get chosen.
This class was so awesome. The lectures were interesting, but all of the notes are online so it's not hard to jump back in when you miss. You need to study for the tests, but there are so many extra credit points that it's hard to do poorly in the class. He really seems to care for his students and he puts grades up super fast to eliminate stress.
Dr. Adams is a good teacher. At the beginning of the semester I failed the first two test, because I studied the wrong material. Then I started getting A and B's, I ended up with a B for the class. He gives extra credit and they are easy. For the tests study all the vocab from the chapter and the sociological perspectives. Good luck!
Easy class. Lectures are very boring, but very simple. You can read textbook and still do fine. Gives a ton of extra credit opportunities.
Great teacher, cares about his students, gives lots of extra credit, wants his students to pass. attendance is not mandatory but to pass the test just go to class. The TA's are awesome and help a lot. Get the book, vocab is a life saver for the test.
Lots of extra credit was offered! I had a 129% in the class at one point. We had tests every other week! But they were really easy and not very long. GO TO TH REVIEW SESSIONS! The ta would say some questions word for word. Dr. Adam himself was really boring and not very helpful but the ta's are amazing! I never went to class and passed with an A.
Dr. Adams is a good professor! Gives lots of chances for extra credit. Tests are every other week, but they are easy!
So easy! The TA does review sessions where he practically reads the test aloud. Never went to class and had over a 100 in the class. Hard to not get an A. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!
Very great and enthusiastic professor! Gives a lot of extra credit, so go to class! Only lectures for about 20 minutes or so, then plays games so you can win bonus points! Also has reviews to help with tests. Gives lots of in-class examples and posts power points on line! Very nice and extremely helpful! :)
Great professor, he really wants you to do well, and wants to help you out (as long as you ask for it). Participate in class, read, and you'll do well!
He was great I recommend only skipping class on Mondays
He's awful. Does not stay on topic, his lectures are wothless, questions on the exams are WAY TOO SPECIFIC. And the worst thing here is that his class is useless, won't ever take advantage of the "knowledge" acquried in class. Avoid him!!!!!
Unenthusiastic professor. Lectures are very boring, but the TA helps for about 10min of the lecture. The tests are extremely specific, if possible take this class with a different professor.
He tends to ramble but over all hes a fantastic teacher. He played music almost everyday before class that had to deal with what the lecture was going to be about that day. Lots of extra credit opportunities too!
Awesome class.
If you do not miss the tons of extra credit opportunities, you will get A easily. It is very important to go to review session. I highly recommend you to read a textbook before taking tests. All tests will be held once every three weeks.
Adams is very scatter brained. He goes off on tangents very often and he usually reads right off the power point. His tests are kind of hard and very long, but passing with an A is very doable.
Attendance is not required but you can play a review game at the end of class that can give you up to 20 bonus points. Do as many extra credit things as possible and go to the TA review sessions!! TA's basically give you the answers for the exams.
I wouldn't say this was an 'easy A' kind of course. The lectures were pretty boring, so it was pretty hard to listen and engage. If you don't study for the tests, you won't do well. However, the TA during my semester had amazing review sessions a couple days before the tests and that helped so much. Go to them. The amount of extra credit is great.
lectures are a little slow, but there are always review sessions before tests. professor adams offers so much extra credit!!!! he wants all of his students to do well and it is very clear to see that. not hard, but still important to study and read the material
I showed up to his class maybe 3 times all semester? And of course his tests. The class was extremely easy, and the amount of extra credit available is ridiculous. I averaged a low B on all of his exams but because of the weighting of the project(which is also easy, I did a 2 min video about items in my room) and all the EC I passed with an easy A.
Adams is super talkative. He goes off on rants and never really stays on topic. The class itself is pretty hard so if you want to actually LEARN then chose a different professor because this class is all about passing on extra credit points. You never really need to go class except the last 10 minutes but every extra credit chance is like 20 points
literally just do your work on time and show up most of the time, easiest class I've ever taken ----- go to the review sessions
This class was so easy. I hardly ever showed up, but got an A. He is funny, and easy. His tests are 100 questions, but they are simple questions. Just read over the textbook before a test and you'll do well.
You never have to go to class- in fact, I did better on the test when I missed all the classes before a test. What he teaches in class has nothing to do with what is on the tests. Buy your textbook and read and study that because that's what the tests are over. He gives SO MUCH extra credit though, seriously SO MUCH.
Attendance is not mandatory, and I did better on tests when I did not go to class because Dr. Adams can go off on unrelated tangents and confuse you. He puts the lecture slides and chapter vocabulary lists up on blackboard before each exam. If you study these, along with all the EC opportunities, it is an easy A.
You don't HAVE to go to class, so if you sleep in or just want a day off, its ok. BUT i highly recommend going because its hard to learn it on your own. I didn't buy the book and was fine. He gives SO much extra credit, i've gotten C's on the tests but still have a 95 because of all the extra credit he gives. He's a good guy!!
The tests are filled with questions on vocabulary and scenario's that are written about in the chapter, but never mentioned in a lecture or the notes. His only advice given on how to better prepare for exams is to read the notes, when half of the notes never make it onto the exam. The tests are hard, read the book, and don't count on extra credit.
Mr. Adams seems like a chill guy. I could probably get along with him outside of class. As a teacher though, meh. He wants student to come to class, but doesn't give enough incentive to do so. The notes you take in class often don't correlate with what's on the test. If you do take his class, I would skip class most days, and read the textbook
This teacher gives a TON of extra credit so take advantage of that!! He tends to ramble on about things that aren't related to the class so I found it was just easier for me if I didnt go to class and just took notes off of the powerpoints on my own time and followed his study guides
He constantly rambles and tries to make jokes. Spends too much time on tangents. Pretty boring class as a whole.
Lectures only go over the definitions of vocabulary. The tests will blindside you with difficult questions over extremely specific studies. If you follow the "study guide" you will make a 70 on the test at best. Lots of extra credit though.
Honestly, it's pretty hard to get an A on the exams because he will ask very specific questions that's only talked about in the books. Also, there's not as much extra credit as people are saying unless you're really lucky because there's optional quizzes and only 40 people get chosen to gets credit for it (never got chosen btw).
Barely any of the stuff from class shows up on the tests, he has his TA's make the tests for them, and a ton of stuff is straight from the book. He gives a ton of extra credit, but the tests are still hard. He doesn't really explain anything that well either, so don't count on too much class help.
There were way easier sociology classes to take than Adams. The tests are actually really hard and very difficult to be prepared for.
Adams is an easy choice for SOCI2013. If you go to class and write your name on a notecard and turn it in, your name could get drawn for 5 points of EC(40 people get chosen in class). You don't necessarily have to go to class because his powerpoints are online; but, I would suggest going so you are familiar with the material. Lots of extra credit.
I loved Mr. Adams class! It was non mandatory attendence but I attended every class! He made every lecture more enjoyable, he goes throw slides (that he posts) and explains them which frankly is way nicer than having to figure it all out on your own! He then takes "brain breaks" and shows funny videos! He is very sweet and there is ample EC! :)
This class was insanely easy. Quickly everyone realized you don't need to show up to class and that his lectures were pointless. About 80/470 people showed up usually. That being said, literally do the online quizzes, he copies those word for word onto exams. You can also get extra credit daily. Bad professor, easy A.
Doesn't talk about chapters for the test. I had to study on my own for chapter quizzes and exams. He tries to make the class fun but it doesn't work out in his favor. There is no point in going to class unless its for extra credit. You'd do better on your own than to show up.
I took Adams as a freshman, and he made me look forward to going to class. I am a business major, and I took sociology because it seemed interesting. He is entertaining, an easy grader, and overall a super chill dude. You have unlimited retakes on the chapter quizzes, and he hands out extra credit like a person giving out free samples at walmart.
Get ready to teach yourself and get a tutor. The only thing that is saving my grade is extra credit. He is a very nice guy but the lectures are not helpful for the test and quizzes.
As long as you read the textbook and use the online quizzes to your advantage, you'll be fine. I went to class maybe 5 times throughout the whole semester and didn't get below an A on any of the tests. online quizzes are the exact test questions and there is A TON OF EXTRA CREDIT. you would honestly have to try and fail this class honestly.
The class is extremely easy but is very self-taught. The lectures are long and boring, rarely cover the full material needed for the exams. However, the quiz questions are identical to the exam questions and can be retaken an infinite amount of times. Very good for studying. Also tons of bonus points offered throughout the semester.
I took this class this semester and it was very easy. I showed up only for test days. If you take the quizzes multiple times before a test then you'll do fine on tests. He also offers a lot of extra credit so its an easy A class.
Attendance is non mandatory, yet he knows faces so if you ever need anything he is more likely to help the people he recognizes who attend his class. Super nice dude, just take the practice quizzes he provides and you will for sure get an A.
Attendance was not mandatory. Gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities. Quizzes and Exams were very easy if you were prepared.
Adams is a super nice guy and I didn't mind this class because it was really easy. I would recommend this course if you want an easy A and need to take another basic. I would not recommend it if you are looking to be challenged. Overall, I enjoyed how much he cares about his students, but I wouldn't have the attention span to take him again.
Really easy class, but felt pretty self taught. The in class lectures got off topic frequently so it's easier to just teach it to yourself. If there was a book I never used it. Exams pull almost all the questions from the quizzes. There were a ton of extra credit opportunities. Seemed like a nice guy but the class was giant so I never met him.
By far the weirdest professor Ive ever had, super awkward and mumbles during lectures. I had emailed him asking about extra credit as I had an 89.3 and he just responded with No. I recommend finding another processor if you actually want to feel engaged in lecture and want someone that the other students also respect.
Adams is a nice man who knows what hes talking about. The thing is he rambles on quite a bit in his lectures. But class is optional so most people dont go. Pretty easy class if you read the powerpoints and use socratic.
Hard to properly rate when I barely went to his class. His lectures weren't the best, but you could take the quizzes as many times as you want and the exams were just questions from the quizzes. Probably spent 10 hours max on this class over the whole semester, easiest A.
Professor Adams is one of the chillest professors ever. Literally all you have to do is study his quizzes he posts (which you can take an unlimited amount of times) and they're the exact questions on his tests. Easy A.
Doug is awesome! He is so nice and you can tell he really cares about his students and Sociology. Although my class was remote delivery with him I knew that if I ever needed anything he would be understanding. I was I could've had his class in person 10/10 recommend.
Dr. Adams is a great person; however, his lectures were very bland and drawn out. He likes to ramble a lot. I went to lecture the first month and then stopped and did fine. If you read the textbook and take the quizzes, you are set for an A. His class was not hard, and the content is fun and interesting.
I had his class last semester remotely, and I barley went to class. He lectures but they were kind of all over the place so I just studied his weekly quizzes. All you have to do to get an A in this class is take those quizzes and memorize every question... there's your test. He's a funny guy and definitely does care about Sociology.
If you actually want to learn anything from this do not take this class. If you're looking for a super easy A, take it. I stopped going to the lectures after the first test, and all I did to study was memorize the quizzes because it's the same questions on the tests and ended with a 102%. I didn't retain anything and he is the most boring teacher.
Was definitely the easiest class in my otherwise difficult schedule. don't really need to show up to lectures to understand the material. The whole class is graded off quizzes given throughout the semester (that you have unlimited tries on) and 4 exams. There is also a project that, if done early, you can gain quite a few extra credit points on.
It's an easy A. You don't even need to show up to lectures because his tests are basically questions from his quizzes. There's also a project that's really easy and gives extra credit if turned in early. Also his quizzes can be taken an unlimited amount of time to study for the test.
I PROMISE THIS IS THE EASIEST A YOU WILL TAKE. Tests are on lockdown but you literally will get A's on every single one because they're word for word from the pre-quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory ever which is good because I attended the lectures at the beginning of the semester and they're a total waste of time.
would not take again because his lectures are so hard to follow because he drags on and rambles a whole lot; get ready to read the entire book if you want to pass. he seems like a nice guy just very bland in what he does; if you have a hard time focusing with professors like that, find a new class to take
Douglas is a nice guy, and it seems like he cares about his students, however, his classes are soooooo boring, and he barely teaches half of the material on the test. Your best chance of passing the class is to take the quizzes over and over again. He's definitely not the worse professor on campus, but he isn't very good either.
Went to class one time and got an A. Just do the practice quizzes over and over until you've memorized all the questions and you'll get a 100 on the exams.
super helpful
The class was a very easy A. The professor is nice, but his lectures are hard to pay attention to and very simplistic to the quizzes and exams. However, if you use the quizzes to study then you will be fine for the exams.
He is a good guy and is very understanding. I liked his lectured and the tests were exactly like the quizzes.
If you need a sociology credit, take his class. It is incredibly easy and there are tons of extra credit and retake opportunities. Attendance is not mandatory but I go to class because Adams is a sweetheart. He cares so much about his students' success and is really easy to talk to.
Seminar in Sociology is one of the easiest courses I've taken. Dr. Adams is super nice and understanding. He gives out a bunch of extra credit. This class was actually very fun for me, the books he chose are super relatable and fun to read. Overall it's a very interesting class. Only issue is that he never answers emails, just talk to him in class
Don't have to go to class at all
Easiest class I have ever taken. I stopped going after the first week and ended with an A. The weekly quizzes are the exact test questions. He is also a very nice guy.
I took Prof. Adams Social Problems class over the summer and it was great. He gives all of the work at the beginning of class so you can pretty much go at your own pace. The work was interesting and still challenging. I would recommend and would take his class again.
Show up, take some notes, or don't, you'll be good
If you take dj adams, you will have the time of your life. best blowoff class ever. I went to one class the first week and never went again and got a 96. Tests are easy, boring lectures but you do no need to go, and overall interesting class.
have to do a short video, all you have to do is list 20 material things that you find important to you, and you get 20 bonus points. the whole class is just taking the quizzes which you get an infinite number of tries on to study for the test which are the same questions from the quizzes. just memorize the quiz by taking them a lot and you get an A
Professor Adams is a great guy. All you have to do in class is take quizzes (with unlimited attempts), and then take tests over the same exact questions from the quiz. I only went to class for the first month or two and ended with an A. I feel bad that nobody showed up to his lectures because he is such a good guy, but attendance isn't mandatory.
This class was hilariously easy. If you go to class, do the quizzes to study for tests, and put in minimal effort an A is totally within reach. Throughout the semester people stopped going to class which was a little sad because he's nice and just a good guy as well. If you need an easy 3 credit hour class this is a great choice for a class & prof.
The lectures are boring and he kind of goes on tangents, all you need are the chapter quizzes which are copy and paste for the exam, exams are lockdown browser and 100 random questions from the quizzes which for me is hard but to each their own, no idea what this ELP video is lol
This class was insanely easy. Recommend Douglas to everyone taking sociology! Tests questions are copy and pasted off of your homework assignments. I never made below a 95% on a test and finished with a 99% from extra credit! EASY A
super sweet guy, just pretty boring lectures. if you want an easy A I highly recommend this professor, all you need to do is retake his chapter quizzes over and over and you are guaranteed an A! I barely went to class either! Also gives so many extra credit opportunities.
Had him last semester, class is incredibly easy. Attendance is not required & lectures get a little boring, but he's truly a really nice guy if you ever need help. All you need to do is look over his lecture slides and take the practice quizzes before tests, and you can very easily get an A in the class.
Attendance not required. Tests were the exact same questions as the quizzes which you get unlimited tries for so just use the quizzes as mini practice tests and take them over and over to get different questions. If you do this then the tests will be very easy because you will know all the correct answers already.
Overall, he's a pretty chill funny guy. The class is insanely easy. You'll get an A if you do the online quizzes and the ELP video assignment. Attendance is not required, but I'd stay for his classes if you want to get a good laugh.
Thank god for Professor Adams. His attendance policy is very lax, but that doesn't mean you will not do work for this class. There is a ton of reading and a 3-page paper due every week. This is a required class, so there is no getting around it and your writing skills will improve by the end. He gives great feedback and provides clear guidelines.
attendance is really not mandatory as prof adams just reads off of the slides that are posted on blackboard. the lectures were pretty boring and it seemed like he did not know or care about what he was talking about. however, the class itself is very easy and is an easy A if you prepare for the tests.
I stopped showing up after week 3 and still got a B. The class is easy.
This class was fairly simple as everything was basically online and attendance wasn't mandatory. Lots of extra credit opportunities!
Dr. Adams doesn't have the most engaging lectures, but he makes his class accessible even to people with busy schedules. Attendance is not mandatory; if you take the quizzes multiple times and create good study guides, you will do well in his class. Curved me up to an A when I was 0.5 points away. Generous professor and makes learning easy.
I found him to be quite a dull lecturer, however, attendance was not required. I rarely attended class and still got an A.
Professor Adams is a very nice and caring man who understands sociology well. Non-mandatory attendance, by the end of the year there is usually less than 8 people that go to class out of the 220 enrolled. There are multiple extra credit assignments to boost your grade, and many study tools available for exams.
I LOVED Dr. Adams. He was super funny and engaging. I don't like having to read outside of class normally, but the books we read for his class were amazing. I learned so much and it gave me back my passion for sociology. He is super understanding and there are SO many extra credit opportunities. This is your sign to take his class.
Dr. Adams is a really nice, funny guy. I felt like I learned a lot in his class. There's a lot of reading and writing but it's all really interesting material and he's very very generous with extra credit.
Professor Adams runs a chill class with optional attendance. Acing this course is a breeze - just do the quizzes and use Unstuckstudy to prep for exams. Easy A guaranteed!
Dr. Adams is a great professor in his Seminar and Social Psyc courses. He gives a detailed course schedule so there are no surprises with assignments, attendance, or tests. Dr. Adams is a great communicator, willing to answer any questions before or after class. He offers extra credit every week! 10/10 would recommend taking his classes.
This class was great! There were a lot of readings and you had to buy 2 books, but overall not hard at all. He grades VERY easily I got 100s on most things. No exams only assignments and quizzes. Also gives a ton of extra credit even for just coming to class. If you have to take this class for your major take it with Professor Adams!
LOVE this class. although based on few tests it is very straightforward on what you have to know. the quizzes are open note. attendance is not mandatory. very easy to do well in this class
The professor was fantastic! They made the material easy to understand and created a great classroom environment. I highly recommend this class to anyone considering it. Gave us quizzes that were word for word the questions on the exam!
He is a very kind and funny professor. Class isn't mandatory, and exams are online. Not a bad class as long as you study and do the quizzes. There's an easy video assignment due near the end of the course. 3-4 timed quizzes due before every exam. Exams are on webcam lockdown browser, and you're able to take them wherever and anytime during exam day
He doesn't take attendance and tests are at home. They are copy and pasted from the quizzes. Super chill guy and so so nice. I honestly feel so bad that nobody shows up to class after the first week.
I took his class online and it was the easiest thing ever. Thank you!! I enjoyed it all!
Didn't go to class once. Such an easy class and such an easy class to get a good grade in. His classes are boring and he's a rambler, but nobody really goes. So chill so if you need to take a sociology, take his class
I failed all my exams but I never went to class. It was my fault I didn't do good. All grades were quizzes and exams, extra credit helped a lot. Great professor just harder class.
