I'm a USC student and have made A/B throughout college even in my two math classes at USC. Mr. Culler is horrible, doesn't care about his students, and test are now where like any of the problems done in class or homework. I got a D and the class average was mostly likely a D or F. Avoid him at all cost unless your fine with a D/F.

This was a synchronous class. He does teach from power points but is very good at explaining step by step how to do the work.I haven't taken a math class in 20-plus years and he explained things pretty well IMO. He does use clicker quizzes, but it covers the information learned in class that day. Pay attention, do the homework and practice tests.

I took Culler's 4-week online asynchronous course over the summer, so I have no idea who he really is. He teaches through powerpoints and videos from the 2000's it seems. He responds to emails fairly quickly. Beware that the MyStatLab is a little over $100 as the cheapest option, so get a refund (don't miss the deadline by one day like I did).

No extra credit, almost NO late work accepted, harsh grader, the online class is all graded by a computer with no room for partial credit if your answer is partially right or in the wrong format. Discussions are mostly completion grades I think though

He is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. Really explains things well and will answer any questions you have. He also sounds like Matthew McConaughey. 10/10 would definitely take again.

This class wasn't bad at all. There are clicker quizzes, but the 3 lowest ones are dropped. The tests could be difficult, but there are practice tests posted for each unit. They are fairly similar to the tests, so be sure to do those a few times before taking the tests. Trig is difficult, but the structure of this class made it a little simpler.

Excellent teacher would take again. He does prefer pen and paper if that was an option. He is not a Technology type of guy, but he likes to use clicker questions to test the class understanding of the material after he finishes the lecture. The clicker questions count as light quiz grades. Will provide partial credit on test.

MAT110 was super easy (for me), and this class was the complete opposite. He is not good at explaining how to solve questions, and ignores that the majority of the class is completely confused. He uses iClicker, which is glitchy and irritating to use. Rounding is super important. Tests will make or break you. Take a different teacher.

For someone who hadn't done math in over 3 years he did really well in explaining the topics, broke down the problem and thoroughly explained how he achieved the solution. He's a great math professor that I'd take again. He would respond promptly for homework issues/questions. The practice exams, are extremely helpful to prepare you for the exam.

I took MAT-130 (asynchronous) as my first Dual Enrollment course last year, and Professor Culler was a fantastic teacher to work with. Anytime I was up late studying and had a question, he would respond within a few minutes. He also broke down many problems for me to solve step by step and gave me more resources to ensure that I knew the material.

I think Professor Culler is a great teacher! His tests are similar to the homework provided and will help you if you reach out to him. I really enjoyed this class this semester and I would definitely take one of his courses again.

If you aren't religious, I recommend picking some kind of god to pray to if you find yourself in this class because you will need one. It feels like the closest thing to a warzone that I will ever find myself in, and he yells at us instead of answering simple questions or does a whole ballet routine around them. It's awful.

A lot of bad reviews on here for Prof. Culler, but I really didn't mind him at all. As an introductory math course, he take it slow in the beginning and speeds it up throughout the semester, but all of his lectures are clear and concise. He teaches and tells you exactly what will be on the exams, and is always happy to help if you ask!

Prof. Culler really was a good teacher; he made the learning clear and concise and let us know exactly what would be on the exams. He started the year slowly and then sped it up once we all got used to the work we were doing. His Homework and practice tests were also great tools to study for the exams.

I don't know why ya'll hating on this man. He is lowkey a cool dude. super laid back. I mean yeah, the class isn't super easy, but there shouldn't be any surprises there. It's the subject, not the teacher. I would choose him to be my math teacher any day.
