This teacher is HARD! He does not help you at all.
Just plain mean!! Needs to have more patience with his students!!
He's a very good teacher, but fickle. If he doesn't like you, you're in for a rough ride. If he does like you, he'll help you in any way he can.
Would not look at logic, goes to conclusion of problems. Horrible review. Isn't helpful at all. I would think this is why he is now teaching lower level courses. Avoid this teacher like the plague!!!
Biased and plain rude. On exams he takes loads of points off for small details...ex. a sqr rooted function, the answer max was positive deducted points for not showing the (-) when it was not ask for.....
horrible!!! avoid his classes if at all possible...very unlikely you'll pass...worked like crazy & got a 68 on the FIRST test...thought I understood it, too...he takes off for EVERYTHING!!!
Homework grades are a lie. They don't count.
A little harsh. He added a section 2 days before a test to be cruel to those who didnt do the homework. I did fine.
It's his way or the highway! He often makes mistakes when explaining problems AND on his answer key for exam reviews. Made A's in Trig & Pre-Cal; making a "D" in his class. Can't use what I learned prior in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM. He needs t
I have always passed math..the stuff I did in his class was all stuff I did in highschool!! Yet I made a C!! Why?? He never let us finish our tests..he taught a lesson, gave us a quiz, then checked our homework before giving us a test. DONT take
Math is usually my favorite subject, but I just dreaded this class. At first, I couldn't stand the way he teaches, but I got use to it. Out of about 20 people, more than half dropped. Not an easy teacher, but if you try, you could end with a B.

Don't ever let your cell phone ring or he'll take points off your final grade. If I didn't remember what I learned in my previous classes I would be completely lost.
He is not a good teacher at all. He stands in front of board, blocking everything he is writing. I could not understand chicken scratch on the board. Works problems way to fast, and will not slow down when asked. Do not take him.
you'll be moving your head and body throughout the whole class just to be able to see what he's doing on the board. I do not recommend this teacher. If you don't understand something you'll have to go to the si sessions, the si teacher is much better than Green (her name is Tamy).
Let me check your binders cause were in 3rd grade again! This guy is a barney and doesn't teach good at all don't take him!
oh my god what ever you do, do not take him. I feel like back in kindergarden with him. He goes off subject and says random things to you that don't make sense. He is not a very good teacher.
This man talks about things that dont have anything to do with math or the lessons. He critizes us all. He has TERRIBLE handwriting, his darn x's look like 4's!! I usually ignore him and daydream or stare at this hot girl who sits next to me. I teach myself the math at home and do the homework.
students are right on the x & 4's but he's not a a writing teacher! Plus if you did the homework you would understand the math. He is real world!!!
i did not like my experience with him . the only thing he taught me that if i wasnt to his expectation than i wouldnt make it . close minded and rude. i guess its just old age or something . but yeah dont take his class .
He makes you keep a note book, it will be graded. He can sound real mean. Do all the homework and everything else he tells you to do and you should do fine, a lot of wotk though.
His class is not as hard as people make it seem. Seriously, do your homework and you should be fine. It's the slackers that don't pass. He does have very interesting views and if you undertand his jokes, he can even be enjoyable.

Do not take him!
this dude cannot not teach!
worst teacher ever. dont take him whatever you do
This teacher althought not the worst teacher in the world, is not a very good teacher. He teacher alternate methods than are in the book, and then on the tests takes off points because you didnt do it how the book said. He also gives you 40 mins to take a test that "[i] dont know how long this tests takes, i did not write it and i havent taken it
He does not need to be teaching at a community college - maybe a military school!!!
This class was easy for me, but I didn't like the way Mr. Green teaches. He is a nice man, but he keeps seating charts and precise accounts of attendance. If you miss like 3 days you have to drop the class, plus he grades this notebook.
This teacher is not hard. He does does have a seating chart and counts your attendance buy I don't think its that bad. The notebook check its just an easy exam grade you can have if you want.He is kind of strict. His teaching methods are ok!
hmmmm. very strange teaching methods. would not reccomend if you suck at math.
hmm. still currently in the class. honestly he's not that bad but he tends to stray from mathematics to his personal economic views since he feels that we are not taught government to it's full extent. if youre looking for easy credit i don't reccommend this class. i've been making all A's but I go to SI sessions and it's a lot of work.
He is very hard to learn from. You can not read his handwriting because he writes in cursive and really, really small and slopy. H egive A LOT of homework. On test days he gives a quize at the beginning of class then lectures and a chapter or two then the last 20-30 min of class he gives the test...not enough time!!!
Finite Math. Did not give enough time for exams because he would lecture before. Went very fast, and would skip steps making it difficult to learn. He did give good reviews which told us exactly what to know for the exams. Gave *A LOT* of exams--SIX! If you're not good at math, then do not take him. No homework quizzes in this class.
He's an Ok Teacher. Easy A if you already know Math. Tests are easy. But he Gives too many homeworks which is good practice for the tests. Notebook.?! Yeah you have to have notebook for his class and he grades it. Do your homeworks on time and you'll be fine.
Worst instructor I've ever had. I tried hard to do well. I asked questions in class but he made me feel like I was the only one who didn't get it. He would sometimes not even bother to answer my question and he would continue on. His reviews were in the book, which isn't helpful b/c they are already there for you to see. He doesn't seem to care.
I think Mr. Green is a pretty good teacher. He does have a seating chart and grades notebooks but its not a big deal. Notebook grades can get you an easy A since you can bring them to him early and he'll help you get it right. and he drops your lowest grade. He assigns lab hours which is a pain but it helps in the long run. I finished with an A.
I could not agree more with all the bad reviews I have read. He is very difficult, not because of the material, but the way he teaches. No clarity !!!
He doesn't teach! He gives you at least 8 major tests for the semester, and he assigns (LOTS OF) homework that he does NOT actually take up from you.
I just don't like his teaching class. math is my favorite subject, but after taking this teacher, i am scared to the math. He is not clear in his lectures. and most important . he does not give you the whole class time for exam. first half hour he do lecture than start the exam which is too bad. I don't recommend him, better take other teacher.
ok this teacher is the worst teacher i have had in all my life!!! he makes you feel like a complete idiot when you dont understand the material. i would not recommend this teacher to anyone!!!
he's the worst math teacher i've ever had. i don't recommend him!
definately the worst math teacher ive ever had, math has always come very easy to me but not with him, hes not clear at all, he doesnt answer questions, and he makes you do a ridiculous amount of lab hours.
he's the worst teacher i've ever had. u have 8 test throughout the semester, writes very bad, and he's teaching style is very very horrible. i strongly do not recommend him.
ohhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhh dont take him he is vary hard. man just dont thing about it at all
HE IS VERY VERY HARD. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE MATH DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
He's not as scary as people make him out to be. He challenges you to learn, if you study and still have problems get help from the Math Lab or the Sucess Center both have qualified tutors who are there to help and its FREE! If you don't ask for help its not his fault. He knows the matierial and he wants you to know it too.
Great teacher! Would definitely recommend him to people who really want to learn. If you're willing to do the work, you'll pass. Yes, he requires lab time (small amt. if you're doing well), but if you want to pass why not go, it's free! I hadn't taken math in 20 years and I got a B.
he was the worst teacher i have ever had.Although the subject he teaches is easy he makes it more complecated for no reason. I had A on allmy test and my attendence but he ended up giving me B for note book not being organized or whatever .I strongly recommend everybody to not even think of taking him.
He requires lab hours for a grade! it is required to get up to 5 hours of lab PER WEEK! who has THAT much time on their hands?!
Had his class from 5:30 to 6:50 and had another class afterward at 7. He would reserve our room and continue teaching after class was over. Also REQUIRED we go to the math lab. This should have been in the course description because some people work and take other classes. Berated my class for not doing well on his test. BAD TEACHER! DONT TAKE!
Mr. Green is an excellent instructor. He explains all information in a way that is easy to understand. The math lab hours are not bad as long as you keep your grade up and it helps to get students used to using their services. I wish he taught some of the higher level courses.
He lectures constantly on how you should live your life which got annoying at times. If you don't know the answer to a question when he asks you, prepare to be humiliated by his condescending remarks. He assigns way too much homework. I'd try to find a different teacher if you had the choice.
I took him for intro. algebra and thought he made things easy and was funny with his corny yokes. He always gives you a review over whats going to be on the tests and is willing to help you.
Hard class. You have to keep a notebook in a certain order its really unnccessay but its a must for a good grade in his class. tons of hw which ends up benefitting you but still he could lessen it. not very clear so i was always at the s.i. sessions and math lab. but i put in the hard work and pulled out with a B and math is not my thing!
This is by far the worst teacher i have ever had.Not only does he make you keep a notebook that is most of your grade but when he calls on you to do a problem if you get it wrong he makes snide little comments about it. If you dont do the work his way, which is confusing, he takes off points. I would never wish him on my worst enemy.
His class is really hard. If you take his finite maths class make sure not to take more than 2 more classes. He takes off points for every little thing. It's his way or the highway. Good Luck! You will need it.
ive only had him for 3 days and im already behind. he goes way too fast and the way he insists on showing you how to solve a problem is difficult. i am very happy i dont have to have him for a full semester!
hardest math teacher i ever had i didnt know he was this terrible just randomly got him. i hate have to stay after school till like 5 or even six and i think im still failing i get no help from him. just the tutors and they r better than him. u cant read his handwriting at all its like a doctor cause u cant read it all. he should retire.
<continued>..lab 98487 hours a week like he does. he complains the whole class is not on schedule but he tells stories, usually not on topic, that last for 24 years.& i hate his stupid sweater. & his chicken scratch has got to GO! dont take this class unless u want an F on your transcript & have no life to dedicate to unnecessary binders & math lab
no comments please b'coz i want to be in trouble
Very helpful at first but became irritable as semester went on. Would not explain problems very well. Would stray off subject and then not answer questions because of lack of time. Made many mistakes because of fatigue (evening class) so that made things confusing. Sarcastic and demeaning at times. Not recommended.
He is a very hard math teacher unless your already great in math. He treats his like their stupid. San jac should have fired him years ago.
I read all the comments and they are so true. I started San Jac later in life and he was my first teacher, it was such a bad experience I didn't return for a couple of years because he will knock your self esteem down.I finally got the courage to try math again and now I attend UHCL. San Jac does have great teachers he's just not one.
he is such a horrible teacher. he did not explain anything clear, he assigned alot of homework, and was so rude. i hated this class i will never again take him as a teacher and i do not recommend anyone else to take him. i finally stopped going to his class and failed and now im taking the same class at a different campus and passing with an A.
Mr. Green is a great teacher. It may seem stupid to alot of students, that he makes you keep a notebook, but it really does help. It also counts as a test grade. (easy A) He does expect alot out of you, but I found him to be very helpful during his office hours. He wants you to succeed. I would reccomend him to anyone!
he is not a very goood teacher .but if you do exactly as he says .and do the homework youll pass just fine if you do the review sheets and studdy your test corrections youll definatly make an A
I think Mr. Green was an excellent teacher. He definetely knows his stuff. He offers SI and if you go to SI and do your notebook life he says you can pass the class.
1333 Mr.Green is extremely rude. You have to keep a binder that must be kept to his high standards. If you do not have at least 16 hours a week to devote to his class going to the math lab and SI please do not take him. He teaches a brand new never before seen subject 2 minutes before the class ends then gives home work.Whatever you do dont take him.
pretty rude! I was kind of scared of him I had to drop I just couldnt understand him discouraging to students also
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! He is psycho! Always putting students down. Good luck passing.. Oh but if you're asian, then he said you'll pass.
Would not recomend him to anyone at all! Especially if your just getting back into math. He tells your everyday that your most likely going to fail and he is very rude. I would never take him again! I work and i am taking other classes and i never had time to stay at the math lab as long as he expected us too!
The last comment was sweet but why would a student want to take a verbally abusive teacher when San Jac has many great math teacher!
Ok so most of these comments are true. Haha especially bout the "if your asian you'll pass", he really said that one time! If youre working and cant make school your only priority then DONT TAKE HIM. The only reason im passing his class is bc i took PreCal my sr yr in hs,went straight to college right after and had time to do his hw bc i dont work.
Wow this guy is in need of a career change. he is abrasive, grummpy and does not like questions. the ti-85 is gods greatest gift to mankind acc to him. Find some one that enjoys teaching, aviod this depressing character.
I've never failed a class before. I'm usually an A/B student. I failed this class. It was very hard. He's nice, but the tests are really hard. You really have to do the work and then some. More than half of the class dropped. He was rediculously hard. I do not reccommend unless you're a math major.
What can i say abou Mr. Green? He was not very 'teacher' like. He assigns alot of homework, and expects the students to do it all. You spend alot of time in the math lab rather than let him teach you how to work ou the problem. For me, he over-complicated things. In other words, its either his way, or no way.
Please if you value your GPA at all, you WILL NOT take his class!! I am here to warn everyone not to take him! He is rude, a horrible teacher and dont even dare ask a question. He will make you feel stupid for asking. He rambles on about politics and grades hard. I cant believe hes allowed to teach! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT TAKE HIM!
This professor is a terrible teacher. He does not clearly teach the material and does not clearly answer questions. he makes you feel stupid if you get a problem wrong on a test. His handwriting is crap you can't even read it when he is writing notes on the board. If you have to take Tech math make sure not to get this guy.
I do not recommend Mr. Green AT ALL. I had to drop this class. It's funny, but his handwriting really is horrible. He does not teach well at all, and I actually spent lots of time in the math lab only to end up dropping the class. If you don't understand something, he sort of just moves on. He'll re-explain it, but not enough. I wouldnt recommend
Here's the thing guys: If you suck at math DO NOT take him. I got a B+ only because I didn't care much. He has 7 exams and final; very few quizes; binder grade and online hw. TRUE he does not teach enough about a topic but ANYONE who is just repeating a class OR taking the class because you know the subject IS OKAY to take him. (messy handwriting)X
Mandatory lab requirements several hours per week, tells you not to do it the way they show you. New topics @ very end of class. Illegible handwriting. Treats questions as a personal offense. Class was packed, not even enough chairs first 2 weeks, 40+ students. When I dropped there were six others left. And that's not even 1/10 of the problems
If you're not very good @ math, class is almost impossible. If you're not excellent @ math, forget an A. If you can't go several hours per week 2 math lab, forget a B. Doing homework helps slightly, but if you don't understand it's almost impossible to get him to explain, & no matter how much homework you do if you don't understand it it won't help
DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! WORST TEACHER EVER!!!! Makes math seem a lot harder then it really is. He always made students feel dumb when they asked questions. One time someone made a comment they didn't understand it & he actually said a comment like even monkeys can understand this. TOTALLY RUDE!! Hated going...I ended up dropping the class!
if you're really good at math and don't care too much go for him... lazy ppl of course drop.. so attend to class do your best!!! &he gives little information about a topic but DO YOUR HW and it will help!
HORRIBLE!!!
Cant read anything he writes and he jumps from topic to topic very fast and even answers his own problems wrong when he works them on the board!! Be ready to teach yourself!!
Honsetly, you have to teach yourself. I made a C in this class and that was ridiculous suggesting I don't get low grades. His teaching method is scattered. He is interesting to talk to, but not helpful with the work. I suggest not taking this class if you value your GPA
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MAN! The worst teacher I have ever had!!! He has terrible chicken scratch. you cant read anything he puts on the board. He also flies through the lessons and expects you to understand what he's talking about when he lost you at step one.
Great professor, he expects you to understand Math to the fullest, if you love math (like i did), take Professor Green! Amazing mathmatecian everr! I loved this class and encourage you to take this guy if you love math just as much as I do. Great & Understandable Professor at San Jac. South!
PROF.GREEN IS SMART AND DEFINITELY KNOWS THE SUBJECT BUT HIS WAY OF TEACHING CAN MAKE THE CLASS HARD AND CONFUSING. HE SOMETIMES JUMPS FROM SUBJECT TO SUBJECT AND HAS A BAD HANDWRITING, WHICH CAN BE A PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO TAKE NOTES. IF YOU LOVE MATH AND IT INTERESTS YOU, TAKE HIM.IF YOU NEED VERY DETAILED TEACHING IN CLASS, TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.
I could not understand his writing to save my life, the has a very strange method of teaching(you will basically teach yourself)..if u want a miserable semester (he;s the perfect teacher for you)
Very confusing wants you to do only his methods which are more confusing than the ones I was previously taught. He's rude if you ask a question, has you keep a notebook the entire semester. Also on test days teaches new material for 30 min before you start test. Which confuses some people more.
This professor is very difficult and demanding. His lessons do NOT cover the test material, and he expects you to watch hours of his podcasts every week. All of the homework is on MyMathLab, which is confusing and expensive. He requires that you keep a binder full of his random papers, and he gives pop quizzes very often. I do NOT recommend him.
This guy is a horrible teacher. He isn't very clear and flies through the lessons.I've caught him in mistakes he's made in doing a few problems already but insists he's doing it correct when I went to the math lab and they told me I was right. His methods are far more complex than they should be. I wouldn't recommend him, EVER.
I recommend him .He is a great instructor and overall a good person. He is helpful.
Kinda confusing but he has mandatory podcasts that clarify things. you have to try to fail though. He lets you do test corrections and gives you credit back plus he curved a lot of my classes tests. You will have to do work and put in effort but overall it's not overly bad. Fairly understanding if you go talk to him.
Math is my favorite subject, and i hated coming to this class. I disliked him very much, I recommend taking another teacher. He gets frustrated if you don't understand something and he tells you to look up youtube videos if we run out of time in class. Avoid him if you can!
I love math, but I think I won;t do it anymore. He is not clear and explain the easier material but you have to study the hardest one by yourself. He treat the class as students are in the ARMY. do not ask a question because he is not going to answer. you have to be like he wants and if you are not.. better drop it. He does not use the correct skil
Awful, awful teacher. He teaches using "podcasts" (he doesn't know they're called youtube videos) that are incomprehensible and he is rude when you ask for help in person. He grades his students' notes as though it's middle school and not college. Avoid this professor at all costs.
I took him for a Summer session and ended up dropping him after 2 or 3 weeks. He's a horrible Professor! He doesn't even really lecture in class, he expects you to go online and view his "podcasts" which are not clear and do not give enough examples. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
the worst professor ever I dropped his class at south and drove extra miles to central just to take someone who didn't bellttle you... I don't understand why he is still teaching I am a grown woman approx 5 yrs younger than him and wonder what in the world is he doing teaching this class.. podcast really????
Funny guy, but be prepared to devote a LOT of time to this class. Mandatory podcasts (which were helpful) and lots of HW (also helpful). I spent a lot of time in the mathlab. Must keep a notebook, with very strict guidelines. Lets you do test corrections for pts back on tests. He gives lectures before tests, which sucked. Bad handwriting.
The WORST professor ever!!! I wish I would have never taken his class. It's a bunch of crap he forces you to do, that makes you feel like your still in high school. If he is the last choice still don't take his class. You have a better chance just going to central of even if they have online classes take that instead.
Oldschool handwrites tests very good for learning methods if your math skills aren't that great. He knows his stuff but hes not easy. Only real complaint is you will almost never get enough time to finish a test.If you work problems slowly get a different teacher.
He knows his stuff-I'll give him that. But the way he communicates it with the students is very unclear. You know how the text book is written? That's how he talks. Would not recommend this class to a friend.
This teacher may be good at math but is terrible at teaching it. He will speed through notes with no clarity and then expect you to learn off youtube podcasts. Hes talks excessively and takes time from tssting. If you take this class be prepared to teach yourself
This was by far the most complicated class I have ever had to take. I took the 5 week course as a quick way to get the job done. Little did I know how stressful, confusing, and frustrating this class would be. I would not recommend this teacher to anyone who is new to math/is still learning. He is very difficult to work with!
I honestly dont know why some people have a hard time with him. He is a good teacher and very funny. He assigns a lot of homework but it is very helpful for learning the material. He is very fair and i would reccommend him to others. If you show determination and willpower, it is impossible for you to get below a B in this class.
This is the hardest class I have ever taken. 80% of my class has dropped this class. Lots and Lots of homework. His class needs alot of time and effort. We get hard quizzes every class. On test days, we have to take a quiz, learn a new lesson, and also turn in all the homework which leaves us with no time to take test. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!
Makes you keep a binder with all of your homework, graded quizzes, notes, test corrections, etc. (has to be perfect or he'll take points off) He lectures and quizzes on test day leaving you with only half of the class time to take the test. He gets confused and has to figure out how to do the problems he is teaching you, while he is teaching you!
Tons of hw. Lectures on test days. Unprepared lectures. You will have to teach yourself all the information. Have to do test corrections or he'll take points off your grade. Gives like 30 minutes to take test. Have to keep a binder with very strict rules, if not PERFECT you'll get points off. Horrible teacher. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!
Mr. Green is a very hard teacher unless your already great at math then stay away he will bring you down.
Personally, I really liked taking his class. He is a good teacher and will help you if you do not understand. He also has an SI instructor if you need extra help. He does move somewhat fast but everything is straight forward in his class. you do not need to purchase a book, just use mymathlab. He is a good professor.
I must say he lacked clarification, when you would as a question he would answer something totally different. His notes are hand written by him and are not very legible, he will take off point for the slightest thing, Math is my weakness and he just was not the professor for me. I would not recommend him.
Great Professor, even though he does give a lot of quizzes, he still does everything he can to help you pass. He does a great grading system and is always willing to help you when you're struggling. I recommend taking him.
I took Mr. Greene twice. I made an A on the first onne and dropped the second time. He is very strict as far as keeping up with his classwork. If you are not very organized and math is your weakness i dont recommend him.
Okay hmmm where to start. When I first signed up for this class I do recall making sure it was a lecture face to face class, not hybrid class. He expects us to look at his crappy youtube videos that are in 480p! not even in 720p so it makes it hard to even see what he is writing. I regret signing up for this class.
Spends all class lecturing. Promises he will give us alot of time to work on the class work, but only get about 10-25 minutes a week. If you do not have a strong math background you will get very behind. Outside of class, you will have to do a ton of work about 4-8 hours for tests. Pod(video) notes, math lab HW, classwork, and test corrections.
If you do everything he asks, which is a lot, you will pass. There are a lot of online assignments as well as assignments he wants you to print out and turn in. He goes over some material in class, but I learned more in the SI sessions. If you are looking for an easy A, do not take him, but if you are willing to work, he is a good choice.
He is very smart and knows what he is teaching. POD notes can be bit improved and he has quiz almost every class.
Do not take this class. He lectures about life instead of teaching Algebra. He has no respect for his students.
He is very rude. He will talk down to you if you ask a "dumb" question. He acts like if you don't do well on a few things you'll be fine, but he hardly teaches. Most of his class is online. Don't take him if you suck at math.
I have NEVER felt like I've been set up for failure UNTIL I took his class. I attended EVERY class, math lab tutors and YouTube & still did not succeed in his class. He does not give enough time for test taking. Gives quizzes before his HARD test and he's far from understanding. If you are not a inch good at math I would not take his class.
By far the worst teacher I have ever taken. He does not help you at all nor respects you, he's always talking down on students and he picks on them when he knows they don't know the answers. A lot of hw. You have to watch his crappy videos on youtube in order to pass.
Even though he was a seemingly hard professor to begin with, I continuously tried in his class (well as much as I needed to) and I got a good grade. Although the binder may seem hard to put together, it is seemingly easy if you keep your work together throughout the semester.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!!! His test are super hard and he does not know how to teach. He gets lost while teaching and often gets off topic.
This professor was not helpful at all, i never understood what was going on. After asking for help i still recieved none at all, only attitude. He will not look through or mark your work when he grades it!
Gives tons of work. Makes you keep a binder according to his standards. Very monotone and gets off topic.
GREAT PROFESSOR. He emphasizes things he sees students don't understand, makes reviews, & wants to keep students on track. If you're a mature student who doesn't expect a handout grade, you'll be fine. Homework isn't due until test days. Gives points for parts of questions, not just for final answer. I wish I had more space, but he has been amazing!
I have a strong math background and STILL had a difficult time in his class. He does not teach a section fully before testing you, and expects you to pass with full mastery. Essentially, you have to teach yourself. There are instances where he will speed through a section, and then test you on it during the next class period. Don't take him.
Mr. Green is not a horrible professor, but he wants you to be extremely independent when it comes to class work and homework. There is a binder that you have to create throughout the semester and he counts it as a test grade at the end of the semester so make sure you stay on top of that because he is a hard grader. You also have to do MML.
This is a tough professor, but he IS fair. If you prepare, come to class, do your work, and study, you will do well in his class. Lectures are on-line so you can watch them as many times as you wish to be proficient.
He tends to wander off topic during lectures. He spends almost as much time talking about politics as he does about math. He also keeps a very strict classroom. Don't try to use your cellphone during class. Keep your notes nice and tidy, he'll want to see them at the end of the semester. Be prepared to work hard, even if you're great at math.
He is honestly an actual MATH COLLEGE PROFESSOR, if you are at a high school level and do not want to learn math, DO NOT TAKE HIM, if you are not capable to do your own critical thinking, DO NOT TAKE HIM, if you are ready to be pushed and challenged and you want to learn about Alg, Finite Math or Stats TAKE HIM , hes a real MATH PROF
Not very clear at all. Doesn't ever really teach you anything, you're expected to know the material before arriving to class. Expect to teach yourself or find a REALLY good tutor. Gives a lot of homework and a lot of random pop quizzes.
General you should know this attitude. If you want to pass be prepared to teach yourself the textbook.
If you're strong in Math, take him. He also offers you to be teaching assistant in class if you are in top 2. Great chance, great professor!
uses My Math Lab HEAVILY, lots of homework but if you do it when you learn the lesson instead of the day before the test, when its due, then its not too bad he incorporates real world experiences into the lessons you keep a binder of all the work that is a test grade, easy A, lots of extra credit if you take the time you WILL do good. i got a 100
Very bad. Don't take his class if you want to learn and pass. Doesn't teach that well.
Basically, he requires that you do everything outside of class. You are required to watch podcasts that are unhelpful. The only reason I passed was because I taught everything to myself. Every time you come to class there is a pop quiz over the podcasts so you have to watch them. He does allow for test corrections but they dont give you many points
Very hard to keep up with, and doesn't fully explain topics. There's a lot of work, but as long as you do it you can easily pass the class. The biggest issue was his attitude and his expectations. I honestly taught myself more than he taught me, and MML was useless to me.
He has been teaching math for 30+ years so he is very familiar with the material. The problem is that he gets so into his lectures, that he does not thoroughly explain what he is doing step by step. There is a lot of effort you must put in with pod cast notes and online homework.
Daily quiz. Teaches like you should know the subject, I've taken precal and if I did not know college algebra I would've failed. He acts like you should know the material. Get ready to learn by yourself. Tough grader, very specific if you get 100 tries to find a mistake. Half class dropped in first couple weeks. Overall: Highly unrecommended.
Let try and summarize this. You must complete the homework and every single task he assigns to make an A in the class including all , I did however and still received a B due to his extreme work load and grading methods! He does give extra credit but the points are minimal. Extremely hard exams, and there are about seven!
I would advise to you to NOT take this instructor's class for many reasons. First of all, he has the most unreadable handwriting of any teacher I've ever had. He gives an enormous amount of work (graded notes + online homework + review packets+ daily quizzes all at once). His teaching is so difficult to understand that I just teach myself instead.
He's a good guy but as far as teaching goes he's not very well. Very monotone and boring be prepared to take a lot of notes. His lectures are very boring and he goes off topic a lot of times. His class is very math lab heavy it feels like your taking it online. He wont posts grades until the last second of the last day there due. DO NOT TAKE!
Pretty much an online class because of the MyMathLab assignments. Lots of homework. His lectures in class is very boring. He takes attendance seriously and his handwriting is difficult to read. Beware of quizzes almost every time you walk in to class.
This class started off well but turned bad really quickly. He is monotone and sometimes decides to tell stories about his life (job, daughter etc.). Many times we are not able to get through all the lessons, so he tells us to look it up on youtube and teach it to ourselves. Strongly advise to take this class online.
Math is not my strong suit, so maybe I'm a bit bias on the difficult level. However, I know I cant get better if the teacher lectures the class 90% of the time on how we suck at life. Your not a life coach.. your a math teacher... Rely on the Math program you have to buy. that's the only way you will learn anything.
He is really rude if you ask him about any problem he would say try to solve this by yourself. He doesn't know how to teach. Don't choose him. College Algebra is mostly what we did in High School but this guy will make everything so hard to understand. So, DON'T take his classes, please.
lot of homeworks though graders
I thought he was a good professor. he was always nice to the class and jokes. you need to participate to pass, most of homework is online other homework is what you didnt finish in class. other comments say hes tough but i just think hes stern and wants you to listen to what hes saying and participate so you actually pass.
He's amazing and truly does care.
If you value your gpa, do not take him. Very bad at lectures and his cursive handwriting is very hard to read. You ll have to decipher his notes and formulae sheet. If you have a hard time reading messy cursive then you will struggle and fall behind. Teaching yourself at home is probably better.
He has a very difficult time explaining anything and anytime someone were to ask him a question, he would mock them for asking that question. The environment of the class room was not to learn but to already know everything.
his handwriting is the hardest thing ever to read. if u cant read cursive at all you will not know what he is writing.
He was an awful professor, if you asked him questions about the material he was very short and rude. He feels you should already know the material before even learning it! I do not recommend him ever!
Dont take him.
