Interesting lectures. Pay attention and you will pass his courses. Willing to answer questions and discuss the answers in class. Tests are a breeze if you've read the material.
Beware. This man obviously has an incredible bias against Christians. If you're looking for an OBJECTIVE philosophical viewpoint please look elsewhere. He has a atheistic agenda to push.
Great teacher! Breaks down all the material in the book. His quizzes are easy if you learn the terms and read the book. Fun personality and willing to help.
Everyone has a bias. Krueger does a great job of teaching the material. Very informative, very fun. If you want to learn, take Krueger.
this is a great professor I was recommending him to everyone when I took his class and after that he really challenges you to think outside the box if there is sucha thing as a box!
If you are looking for an easy A, this teache ris not for you! You only take 4 or 5 tests, a midterm, plus a final that is over ther whole term. There is no other way to get a good gread unless you take notes, and reas the book. He is very knowledge, and very clear as to what he wants you to learn, which is everything.
What a cool guy! Loved his world religions class! I learned so much in there that I actually use! It does take some occassional studying to make an A, but he still makes it fun and totally interesting, so take it if you can! PS-Reread your notes to study for his tests-that's where he gets a lot of material.
Hardest class I have tried to take yet. I had to drop with a W. I will not attempt to retake any philosophy course. You are expected to meomorize every def in the book. I felt like the class was taught as if you were expected be a philosopher after this. Nobles and savages was the lamest thing ever and these are your extra credit for tests.
Very funny guy. But kinda creepy too. Has darkness in his eyes..you can tell he desperately needs the Lord. He is an avowed atheist, but he really doesn't make a point of it in class, it's very subtle, and I think he does a pretty good job of being objective. Tests are not hard if you do the work. Good teacher, needs prayer.
Hard class--I converted his power points into word documents and studied for testing. I made an 'A' but had to work my ass off. His lectures are dry and boring, he is weird but the class was mandatory...
I took World Religions with him and absolutely loved the class and then chose him for Philosophy. He is very knowledgeable of the material and I did not find him biased at all, very objective. You do have to study, especially for the cumulative final. He gives a study guide of terms, know the definitions & you'll do fine. He does magic tricks too!
World Religions was a complete blast! Prior to taking the class I had no idea about Jainism, which he introduces to a great extent. I highly recommend taking this class if you want to expand your horizons! He's very objective and an atheist; He doesn't need prayer - Christians need reason.
A very funny and nice guy. (It's all about definitions)
Yet another Prof. at NWACC who should be teaching at Yale or Penn. If you don't take one of his classes you're missing out on the experience of a lifetime. As a philosophy prof., he's incredible. While he is more than capable of thinking esoterically, he is incredible approachable and makes the material approchable too!
This class could have been horrible. He is a very interesting man and entertaining. If you study his power point slides you'll get an A. One of the best teachers I've had...
Krueger is a great professor, and a great guy. The class is not all that difficult as long as you study his slide shows and memorize the definitions he gives you. He is very approachable and keeps the class very interesting. At times can be monotone but has good sense of humor.
Not an easy class.I am taking it right now and I hate it. He has this ridiculous "Dice of Doom" thing (rolls your number you have to answer his questions) that he does that just makes the class so awkward and it singles people out. He is an 'okay' teacher, funny etc, but the tests are freaking hard... you have to know EVERY definition.
KRUEG! I started out hating the class but then it totally grew on me. He is a good teacher. Totally knows his stuff. You have to study A LOT and you really have to go to class to keep up. But.. if you go to class and read the book then it's really not that hard. I would recommend him !
I took his online class, so I didn't get to meet or talk with him and as with most online classes, you are pretty much on your own to follow the due dates and do your work. However, the couple times I emailed him, I received quick and helpful responses and the quizzes weren't bad since they were open book.
I took this class online. He is specific on what he wants from you. I highly recommend taking this class online. The worst thing about the class was the textbook. It was more effective than a tylenol pm.
krueger gets an "ehhh" rating from me, because was just alright. he puts all his lecture ppts online, his quizzes and exams are straight from ppts. i feel like i could have taught myself this class using his ppts and not going to class. i recommend him, just don't take him early in the a.m. because he'll put you to sleep!
took intro to philosophy online with him! very easy. only have 2 tests and 4 quizes. all material comes straight from the book. ive emailed him several times and got an answer the same day! very helpful teacher! would recommend for an easy 'A'!
4 quizzes for 100 pts, midterm 300 pts, final 300 pts. If you go to class, read the powerpoints, & study before the test you will easily make an A. I am a good student and have a 100%, if that is any indication. No homework & there may be 2 or so bonus assignments you can do
Doug is the MAN! Honestly if it weren't for the wannabe "free thinkers" that talked out loud all the time trying to sound smart...this would have been the perfect class! But that's not his fault...so TOTALLY take his classes!
He is passionate about the class, creates a safe atmosphere for discussions and very comical :) I took two of his clases and I would take more if he taught them. I extremely recommend this teacher.
Easiest class I have ever taken. After first quiz, I stopped reading assignments. Use the index of the book to look up key terms doing openbook quiz/test. If you get less than an A in his online class, you shouldn't be in college classes. They are that simple!!! I do not normally like online, but this is the only way to take this class. EASY!!!!!
he knows his stuff, and everything is power point. Got to love it.
Online--easiest class EVER, hands down. If you want an easy A, I suggest taking it online, and during the summer!
Krueger is a very cool guy. He's funny, and he really knows what he's talking about Philosophy wise. He has everything on PowerPoint if you ever miss class. His quizzes and tests are hard, but not if you study. I'd recommend him above and beyond any other Philosophy teachers at NWACC.
All the comments are junk becuase those people took online his online class is way to easy his physical class you have to seriously study hardcore and first quiz will hold u down everytime so do good one that and u might have a better chance of getting a B but an A pretty much Impossible maybe 3 kids go A's in my class of 24
This class was a peach. Study the book and power points. It's not that hard. People seem to over complicate what he expects for the tests.
Great class. Actually enjoyed the lectures. Not anti-Christian. That's crazy. Philosophy has to address issues such as God. Tests are tricky multiple choice mostly. A little too tricky... Other than that, no complaints.
he's the best! philosophy isn't exactly the most interesting of subjects, and he makes it interesting. he gives examples of everything. he's very clear to understand, plus he's just entertaining. i definitely plan on taking more classes with him for sure.
It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this guy belongs at an Ivy League school. His lectures are of top-shelf quality. As a Christian I didn't find his lectures offensive for the most part. I ended up with a D in the class but didn't study at all. I plan on taking his class again. Very talented and undoubtedly the best lecturer at NWACC.
He was really cool. He is very smart and makes it easy to understand a very complicated subject.
Professor was very passionate and knowledgeable about subject. He moves very fast and I found him very hard to follow on some days. There was a lack of homework and helpful study guides until i asked for them. good professor if you like a lecture environment. not so good if you need structure.
Had this teacher for both Intro to Phil and World Religions passed both with a B. Great teacher, knows what he's talking about. Attend class because he pulls test questions from his lecture/powerpoints. Get involved with the in class discussions and you'll have fun and learn at the same time.
Amazing course when taken online. He provides notes, and it is an interesting subject! This man seems very intelligent, regardless of me taking him online and not face-to-face. Just because the tests are ALL online does not make it simple...but it is a pretty easy going course once you get going.
I had him for both Philosophy and World Religions. He is an incredibly smart guy. His tests aren't too bad as the material mostly comes from his power points. He doesn't assign homework. Show up to class. His classes will stretch your brain in ways it's never been stretched before. It's awesome.
This teacher was AMAZING. He is so smart and he makes things so funny! He is not biased when teaching principles of philosophy and he makes the concept so incredibly easy. One of the rare teachers out there that WANTS you to get an A.
I could listen to his lectures all day. His study guides aren't much help, but he really tries to help you get a good grade in his class. I would take any other class he offered if I could. Great analogies! He's very witty! His tests are not too hard, but not too easy either. He's a great professor!
This guy is amazing! I took him for philosophy and world religions and I couldn't recommend him more. His lectures are amusing and informative. His tests aren't easy, but just going to class and taking notes and studying them means you'll understand it. Take him!
Didn't learn anything, but the teaher is very funny. You'll enjoy going to class.
Great prof. Lectures from powerpoint presentations. Quizes over units, and comprehensive tests. Study by following guide and slides for tests. Show up or not, and still do great. Makes it interesting by relating to modern examples. No homework, class is cake.
Even though I didn't really let a lot of the material sink in due to the fact that I'm a stonge believer in God, his class was very easy. He did a good job at presenting the material so that it wasnt offensive. He used powerpoints which prepared you 100% for the test. I found the class to be really easy. I got an A in his class. I Highly Recommend.
one of the best teachers i have ever had. he teaches very well and is SO smart. would recommend him anyday
Dr. Krueger has been AMAZING this semester! Although there are controversial topics covered in the class that can create pretty heated discussions, he does a great job at respecting others beliefs and opinions. Easy A if you attend class, everything on the tests are on his powerpoint lectures. He posts easy to follow and very accurate study guides.
By far one of the best professors at NWACC. The guy has a passion for what he teaches and this translates into your grade. Show up to class and you will be entertained and informed I promise.
Dr. Krueger makes Philosophy interesting and easy to understand. He is straight forward with what he expects and what you need to prepare for his tests. I would take more classes with him.
Easy for an honors class. Just lots of memorization of terms in. I learned a lot, and really liked the class until Kreuger talked about Judaism and Christianity. Rather than informing us of facts, he bashed the reliability of these religions. Can tell he has something against these 2 religions. This bothered me, but ignored it. Still good class.
Amazing teacher!!!! Going to sign up for his other classes.
He encourages critical thinking and discussion. We had all sorts of fun conversations in the class, about all sorts of subjects. (Science, politics, you name it!) He has a good sense of humor and amazing kilts, he's very nice, and explains the concepts he teaches about very well. His enthusiasm is catchy.
Had him for ethics and time flew in there. Not a moment where I was bored. Tests are easy as long as you do the study guides. Extra credit was given for an optional assignment.
Great prof. Kinda strange but very interesting and funny. Loves what he teaches and makes sure that everybody understands what he is talking about.
Go over study guide the night before and you're good. Went to class just to hear lectures, puts all powerpoints online.
The most enjoyable class I've had this semester. There's not a class that goes by that I don't find myself laughing in. He's very good with teaching the necessary material, and the tests aren't hard if you show up to class and go over the study guides he provides. Definitely recommend this professor!
He post all his slides on blackboard and attendance isn't required. You truly don't have to go to this class to pass just keep up with when test are but his notes are pretty scattered but his point does come across at some point. Test are super easy if you do the study guide and make notecards. Does give option for lots of bonus points at the end.
Kreuger is by far my favorite teacher I've had a NWACC. He's super hilarious, which makes that class super enjoyable. You do have to study for his tests, but they aren't hard if you put in effort. He definitely knows his stuff, and although discusses controversial topics, is in no way offensive. I recommend everyone to take him if you can!
I loved this class and it was a breeze. The tests are super easy if you read the lecture notes he provides. He is very clear about what he expects in the class. Take any class this professor teaches!
He was a great professor! Everything was crystal clear from the start! I took his delayed class. We had 5 tests which one was omitted, and a very short paper for extra credit of 50 pts. I would definitely take this class again! You learn a lot and it isn't overwhelming. He understands that you aren't only taking his class. Only used notes!
Professor Krueger does a wonderful job teaching philosophy. I was never bored in class. He teaches very energetically and very enthusiastically. The only thing he graded on was 5 tests we took throughout the semester. However, the tests are very easy and multiple choice. Multiple times, I aced the test with a perfect 100. Great teacher.
Dr. Krueger is a very intelligent man with entertaining lectures. My only complaint is that he discusses his political/religious views in depth, which can be offensive. Regardless, he is a very caring professor that will do anything that he can to help you. He truly cares about his students/profession. Very obtainable A.
What can one say about Dr.K? He's the best professor I personally have ever had. If you haven't taken him... FREAKING take him. It was the most amazing class and we had the perfect dynamic. Doug makes you work for it, but you'll come out a better person.
Online and overall very easy. He gives you summaries of what is discussed in the book. I literally only used the book one time all summer. 5 quizzes, one is dropped and a final. I never read before quizzes or the fine and just used the summaries and made an A. 2 discussion posts a week but they are super easy.
The class is almost entirely lecture-based. There aren't any papers, but there are 5 tests plus a final. The tests ask specific questions, but you'll be fine if you use the study guide to study from. Your lowest reg test score gets dropped. Dr. Krueger is amusing and knowledgeable, really helping you to learn what makes an argument solid.
Dr. Krueger was an ok professor. He teaches fine, however he really pushes his depressing views of life on the class. He wants everyone to believe what he does, and ridicules anyone that has a different opinion than him. I found most of his view points sad and offensive.
Dr. Krueger is an amazing human being and teacher. He opens his students' minds to new possibilities and ideas and inspires them to be more creative, useful, and productive members of society. He never shows bias, and always ends his sentences as questions so as to a avoid offending anyone. His mission is clear: To help people become their best.
alright y'all, let me tell you about this prof. He is wonderful and I personally love his class. He's funny and overall a great teacher. Sure, he sometimes wears questionable things (ex: olive green suit with neon orange tee shirt) but he overall does a good job at explaining the subject at hand. 10/10 would take his class again.
You are only graded on 5 quizzes that are all online and open book. Does count off at the end of the semester if you don't post in the discussions. Only thing I didn't like was that this a spoon fed class.
Discussions are evidence that one is thinking, and I applaud most anyone who might encourage others to think for themselves. This professor gets a couple thumbs up for his unique character, ability to encourage a free-thinking environment, and for being entertaining enough to hold the interest of even the most irksome class clown. ;) - A+
Dr. Krueger is great! Really nice, respected, and free thinking professor! Personally I wasn't a fan of the same routine he would do. Lectures, quiz, repeat. Made the class seem longer than it actually was! Overall easy class.
Quite the interesting guy; especially the lectures he provides on the topic of Philosophy. The Summer online course mainly consists of short quizzes and discussions with fellow classmates. Highly recommended!
I took the summer online course. Total of 5 quizzes, lowest gets dropped. At the end you have a small essay for bonus if you choose to do it. Overall easy and interesting class. You do have to participate in discussion boards . Good professor. I enjoyed it. Read his lecture notes. He is very clear what he expects out of you. Would take again!
Professor Kreuger is my favorite professor so far. The readings he assigns cover material quickly and concisely while his lecture notes make them easier to understand. His recorded video lectures make you feel like you're part of a class, even online. Just do the discussions (which are interesting) and quizzes (which are easy) and you will pass.
Incredible lectures, even had PowerPoint for after so you could review what you had learned which made the quizzes quite easy to study for. He has a textbook but didn't really use it. His lecture style is very engaging and grades fairly. Would absolutely take it if you are taking this class for credits as it is not boring, and for getting started.
It was a privilege and joy to take Dr. Krueger's course. He creates great analogies and makes topics easy to understand and apply to life. A positive, hilarious person, he enriched the course content. He allows people to express their thoughts freely and discourse. I learned a lot in his class, and I enjoyed listening to his lectures.
Best professor ever, I had him for two classes and learnt so much in a fun way!
Honestly the class itself was extremely boring, however it was also an easy A. I would recommend the online course over in-person. Prof. Krueger was pleasant, it was just dreadful to go to class and almost fall asleep each time. However, I don't regret taking his course.
I took this class online and had no problems. He gives feedback, and the workload is light and easy to understand. There was a textbook that I may have picked up twice. Just ensure you're paying attention to the timed tests; those are nerve-racking. I would retake this professor.
Krueger is a great professor. His lectures are entertaining and interesting. He gives 5 quizzes with complete study guides and drops the lowest score. Definitely take him if you can; he is super smart and fun.
Uhhhhhhhhhh
Amazing and caring professor. Loves to crack jokes and interact with students, and is willing to help anytime. Slides and study guides are posted on Canvas, and he generously grades tests. The only grades in this class are tests, so make sure to study.
