He is very helpful and makes sure the entire class grasps every concept, the only drawback is if you do understand you have to sit through him going ove it that many times.

Very good teacher, no book invovlved, but required palm pilot. They are very helpful!! TAs are nice too. His tests are very straight forward, and the TAs have review sessions before every exam to put you on the right track.

He is a wonderful teacher and his TAs are great! Do not take this class if you don't want to work. It is only easy because of how well he teaches you. There is no book, only a palm pilot and it is incredibly useful. I highly recommend his Stats class if you have to take one and pass.

Mr. Lunsford is by far the best mathmatics prof I have ever encountered. If you have to take stats, BEG and PLEAD to get into his class!

Lunsford is VERY entertaining. Each test is cumulative, so by the final you have to know a ton of formulas and it was pretty straining. Luckily, he offers a ton of extra credit and easy quizes, so about half of his students get an A. The Palm Pilot was a waste of $125; it didn't work half of the time and I resorted to using a regular calculator.

I have been a TA for Lunsford. He is a great man. The TAs help you and he keeps the classes very interesting. Take him if you can... it will be like no other stats class you have ever experienced!

This is one of the best stats teachers you can find. He has been a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend to me while finishing my degree at the University of south Florida. This is some one who enjoys what they do for a living and makes it enjoyable for everyone around him. :)

This class was easy! Go to class, pay attention, do the homewor, and study and you will get an "A." Definitely a very easy class. If you need a math for gen ed., take this class. It's the easiest math you can possibly take. Actually...this class ISNT math AT ALL- and Lunsford will say that quite a bit. He's an awesome teacher.

I took his class during Summer B, so we had a semester of info thrown at us in about five weeks. So, it wasn't a walk in the clouds. However, his clearity and ability to treat students like people helped. A bit of advice, choose your T.A. wisely. Your T.A.'s teaching/grading style will effect your grade. Also, you will have to study. But Take HIM!

This class is amazingly easy...Lunsford is awesome and keeps the class so interesting...he is sooo laid back and when cell phones ring in the middle of class, he stops teaching and dances!! He also wrote his own book that costs like $12 at Grays book store. He cares about everybody and wants every single person to pass. He is amazing!!!

The guy is a jerk, but his tests are fair. Go to class so you don't miss the daily quizzes, and definitely go to the review sessions. He knows the material, but wasted a lot of class time with us taking long surveys for his "thesis".

I LOVED this class! The professor was amazing. He knows/understands that college students need to be treated like kids sometimes. He breaks everything down to the simplest form and makes sure all students understand before he moves on. He is definitely one of the best professors at USF.

AWESOME prof. My advisor told me to take him-he breaks everything down, even if math isn't your thing, it's comprehendable and possible for you to get As on the tests. Interesting, comedic, and truly cares about his students-Gives very useful advice on grad schools and anything else you want to pursue. Extremely patient and talks down to nobody.

A very good professor. There are 3 exams plus the final exam. I definitely recommend that you go to the TA review sessions before the exams, the TA's prepare review sheets for you. But, if you have any important questions about the material ask Lunsford. Don't worry about the correlation and t-test you have to do to pass the class- you can do it!

At first I was worried that I wasn't going to do so well in this class due to the fact that I suck in math. But I was wrong. You just need to go over your notes and practice the problems. If you need any help just ask for it!! Don't be SHY. I have an A on all my exams.Great Class!!

Good teacher. Biggest drawback is you're forced to buy and use a PDA. You can use a different calculator (like the TI-83) but you'll have to teach yourself to use it (he teaches the PDA in class). Go to the TA review sessions, they help. He requires the homework to be done before you are allowed to take the test. Not doing it=no take test.

I found this class difficult! But, I did get an A. However, it didn't come easy. I got an A because I attended every class and I went to every single TA session. You need to go to the TA sessions, they are amazing. Study hard, I proved you can do it, even if you have trouble with numbers and formulas. The key is to find a great TA!

AMAZING! He made everything very easy to understand. I am not good in math at all and the first thing he said was "This is not a math class" It really is fun and easy to learn! GO TO THE REVIEW SESSION! They do problems that are identical to the test just with different data. I failed 1 test and still got a B in the class.

Take his class! He makes a potentially confusing course easy to understand. His teaching style is very engaging and he will answer any question you have, and works with you until you get the concepts. He tells jokes and keeps class upbeat. There is a daily quiz straight out of the book so if you go to class and do the homework you will do well.

I had Dr. Lunsford for social science statistics and loved it! I took it in high school and didn't understand any of it but he made everything very understandeable and the testa aren't hard at all if you go to class and the reviews and actually try. I am an English major and find math very difficult... this teacher made math so easy! He was more than fair in grading. Teaching style goes above and beyond- he wrote his own *cheap* textbook that really caters to every the left and right brained individual. I hope I am half as successful an educator as he was for me and the rest of my class.

Very invovled professor, very help even outside of class. Will help you with question over the phone. You won't find a more knowledgable teacher for the class he teaches. Every question is answered with the approach of helping you understand fully what is taking place within the class.

Lunsford was a great teacher. I enjoyed the fact that he never moved on until every single person in the class felt comfortable with what he was teaching at the time. At first, the way this professor seems very elementary and low level in the way he teaches. However, as the difficulty of the course increases his persistence of each student understanding the material is extremely helpful in doing well in the class and in thoroughly understanding the material.

Greatest professor I ever had! Really made statistics a breeze.Got a 100 in the class! Still remember the material and am now a T.A. and a tutor for Statistics.

The class is easy but your best bet is to attend on a regular basis. He wrote the book himself which was very helpful and he "dumbed it down" as he would say so it's pretty easy to understand.

Anything that has to do with Math might as well be written in a foreing language for me. Professor Lunsford makes Stats extremly understandable, he teaches the course in a way that its easy to comprehend and interesting to learn. This is the only math class I ever got a good grade in and he has a dozen T.A.'S to help you.

There is a reason Lunsford's classes fill up so quickly. He is an excellent teacher and does everything he can to make sure every student passes his tests. If you get a bad grade it's because you weren't trying. He will answer a question 20 times if you need it and is just an all around nice and understanding guy. I definitely recommend him!

Professor Lunsford was an incredible teacher. The first time I took stat, i failed for many factors that had nothing to do with his teaching. the second time around, I utilized his study methods, did all the homework and went to tutoring sssions. The class was very difficult but he kept up interest by using real life applications.

Mr. Lunsford is an awesome professor! I was a student who "hated" math, and was dreading taking this course. I ended up with a B plus in the course. His teaching method is great, class is NOT boring, you use his book-so its not going to cost you 100 bucks, and the TA's are very helpful. I had professor Lunsford last spring. I'm not a math person by all means. However, professor Lunsford makes math fun and interesting. He keeps you on the edge of your seat and breaks it down in a way that is easy to understand. You WILL have to focus and apply yourself to pass the class, but the effort is worth it. Expect to take LOTS of notes.

Very Funny! He really wants you to learn the material he is teaching. He is always willing to answer questions (no matter how many times they are asked). There is a quiz at the beginning of each class, but they are printed in the book. Lecture are VERY HELPFUL! Tells you what is on the test, but you still need to study.

Something is wrong with this guy. He makes things easy to understand yes, but that's his only plus. If you don't pass one question on the exam (even if you get A's on everything) you FAIL! It's crazy. He's always using eating disorders as examples, if you have one or have had one this can be very triggering.

He was a great teacher very entertaining it was good to get a little extra than just the regular boring lectures I had everyday all day...the TA's were very helpful also. As long as you came to class you could easily pass all the tests the only thing was when I took his class I had to have a palm pilot which I never used again after that class!

If you want a teacher that explains the concept on a level anyone can understand, take Lunsford. He makes Stats so simple its insane. He wrote the book, so it's easy to follow along. The TAs and Lunsford answer emails quickly and are quite helpful. The TAs have review sessions that also help, and answer any leftover questions. I highly recommend.

I took this class with him several years ago but I can still remember him. He is funny and the TA's are also very available for help. The PDA he "requires" also makes the class soooo much easier

Excellent professor who takes the time to make sure all students understand the concepts. So clear, that even with missing three weeks due to unavoidable surgery, I was able to pick right up. If only he taught Stats 2, I'd relax more about taking it! If you're a graduate student and need this course, Dr. Lunsford IS the instructor you want!

I took his class like years ago when. Went to USF! Great class , great TAs, and he made the subject easy I understand . I've never said this about math before, but his class was the first math class I actually enjoyed going to and I actually learned and understood the material!

I tried to avoid taking STA2122 because I believed it to be one of the most impossible classes ever. I proudly earned an A, not because of my abilities alone, but because Dr. Lunsford was such an incredible and thoughtful teacher. Unlike most professors, he WANTS you to learn, and he WANTS to explain things in a way that makes sense! Loved him!
