He is very dificult to understand as he is from Zimbabwe and his accent is strong. He is very fast and expects his students to just know what he is talking about. He will make you take a pop quiz everday with 2 or 3 questions and if u get one wrong u basically fail. No exam reviews and no multiple choice.
He is fast paced, so unless you ask questions, you will most likely fall behind. Do the homework before he teaches it in class. GO TO CLASS because he takes pop quizes when students decide to skip class frequently. If you show that you are trying, ask questions, etc., he will make you get a passing grade. He cares if you care.
Worst professor on the planet! Study guides are never like the test. You can barely understand him based on how low he talks and his accent. He doesn't care about the students or their grades. DON'T TAKE HIM! You'd have luck learning algebra from a 5 year old.
You can't even understand this guy and when you talk to him he will ignore, avoid or just be rude and give you an attitude. he rarely responds to emails, his study guides are different than his exams, and he blames the whole class when the average for an exam is low instead of looking at his methods.
The worst... Don't take Magomo it will haunt you. He speaks in riddles and will argue with you when you ask a simple question
Magomo is very rude. I would have been an honor student if I didnt run into his class. Exams are never like the reviews. From short examples he will assign long complicated problems that become quizzes. heavy accent and he speaks too low. Gets angry with the whole class when the average is low instead of trying different methods. Say No to Magomo.

Professor Magomo is absolutely amazing! I don't have enough good things to say about him. He is so genuinely concerned with your progress, and is very good at making you feel at ease learning Calculus. I wish I could take him for Calc 2, 3, and Diff Eq. Prof Magomo is the BEST!
It is one of the best professors on this campus. I had him for calculus I. He was extremely helpfull and very clear in explaining material. All you need to do is come to the class and do the homework. After taking him for calc. I, I felt more than prepared for calc. II. He is not strict on homework deadlines as long as you work on it.
Worst teachers I have ever had. He will not help you on the HW and he gives you riddles for questions you ask him. He expects every student to come to his office every hour of everyday for help and study. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES!!!!

Lib. Arts Math: BE WARNED THAT THIS CLASS WAS BY FAR THE WORST I'VE EVER TAKEN! Obviously, he's knows his stuff but talks in riddles. Horrible at explaining in a concise way. He OVER complicates very simple ideas which makes understanding extremely difficult. Had to teach myself. Despite the bad class he's a very nice guy. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF!
He's a great guy but unless you have a fundamental understanding of the course or get behind your screwed. He goes way to fast and his explain actions don't make sense.
He could be the best professor at Edison, however he goes way to fast and needs to treat us like we are student learning not a class full of math experts. He really tries to help you pass. He was better toward the end of the class, but needs focus on every step and not just go with the final answers from students already understanding the class.
I took him after hearing mixed things from other students, you will either love or hate him. Our class consisted of about an hour and a half of frantically trying to keep up with him going over some kind of obscure theory that we don't need. There was no order to his teaching, bounced all over. He was very condescending when you went for help.
If you have a hard time in math he is not the professor you should take. He has a heavy accent and it is difficult to understand him. He wants you to pass and helps you a lot. Explains things kinda fast but if you need help he will help you!

I recently took Professor Magomo's class over the summer and I must say that he is a very patient, helpful professor that wants all of students to succeed. even though we did not have much time he stopped for any student having problems and tried to explain every step anyway he could think of. I definitely recommend professor Magomo!
Magomo really sucks. Even though I received an A from this course, teaching was really poor. Professor did not seem so helpful, and if there were difficulties, he blamed everything on students. I will not take his classes ever again. On his course you are pretty much on your own, so take his class only if you handle math very well.
Professor Magomo's enthusiasm for Math is contagious. He is an excellent teacher. The course was difficult, but he dedication to seeing you through successfully is undeniable. Take a course with him and you're certain to learn something about life as well.
worst teacher ever!!! hard to understand, does not know how to communicate with students, gives 5 page worksheets as classwork expect students to do worksheets for no grade and gives a quiz at the end of each class only puts 0 as a grade book for missed attendance. SAY NO TO MAGOMO!!!
His explanations and responses about math= more confusion. NOT clear,thorough,or cohesive. Told us we could use a notecard and day of the test he changed his mind. Too much time on things never tested on, not even on the final. Only passed bc of xtra credit and drop of lowest test score. Nice & available to help, does not make him good, DONT TAKE!!

Mr Magomo is best professor ever! Really cares about the subject. Gives quizzes all the time but it helps you learn the material! Replies to his emails! My favorite teacher here at edison for math!
He's an "okay" professor. His tests weren't easy and he gave study guides after the first test. "The first test was hard!" A little confusing and he did give extra credit for test correction. I had better math teachers. He should fine better ways of communicating with students when teaching.
Nice Guy. Poor Teacher. Explains simple concepts in confusing ways. My impression is that he has been teaching a long time and is on cruise control. Appeared unprepared to teach calc III. He know this material, he is just not good at teaching it. I will not take a class from him again.
This is one of the worst Math classes ever. This is the only professor that did not drop a lowest test, and did not re-open the homework and quizzes at the end of the semester. Quizzes are due on random dates! Every other professor I've had the quiz is due on the day of the test, which makes sense! Lectures are too long and useless! DO NOT TAKE!
Many students complained about him but it was because they were lazy. I did NOT do much studying or work for his class and I got a B in Calculus. If I did study it would have been an A. In relation to other professors he is MUCH easier and is easiest professor at the college for calculus. Compare his exams to other professor's exams for proof.
Its too bad he is a very nice guy, because he's not that great at teaching. It is apparent he is very intelligent however he is very confusing in the way he teaches. He talks in riddles rather than a clear concise way of teaching a concept. He is probably FANTASTIC for higher level math folks. Only take if you can grasp or can handle math very well
By far the worst math professor!!! If you want to pass this class don't take him!! Stay far far away!!!!! Dosen't explain things well at all. Makes you feel as though you are beneath him! First day we had a test and tells us if you don't pass this test you need to find another class or go back to basics! Will explain five ways to slove something when it only took a few easy steps and one system not five!! Why they still have him there is beyond me!! Half my class including myself and my friend dropped his class becuase it was so bad! Awful professor and is very hard to understand and soft spoken. If you have trouble in math he is not the guy for you!!
I had to take this class because I could not CLEP test out of precal and trig. So already knowing the material I just sat in the back on my laptop and did homework the whole time. This professor would get mad that I wasn't paying attention to him. He is very confusing and I would not recommend him.
I took Mr. Magomo for Precalctrig thinking it would be an easy A. Oh boy I definitely was wrong. The material itself wasn't too difficult but because you have to cover 2 classes in 1 semester it has a lot of workload, trust me a lot!! My Suggestion is take the class if you have dedication, easiness to understand accents, and study and CRYing time
He is a great teacher. He's always ready to help out with homework, but his lectures very long and sometimes confusing. Although he's class was a challenge, I learn a lot from him. I recommend him, for anyone who want to know the world of mathematics.

This class was indeed difficult, not because of the material, just because the material was not presented the correct was; I feel as if this class was too much of a cluster. Good professor, hard to understand at points. Tests are multiple choice and fill in the blanks. If you do not like math DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! If you do, Good Luck!

Magomo was easily my favorite professor. I had surgery in the middle of the one of my semesters with him and he was very understanding. He took his own time to teach me 3 chapters of material and make up tests. You should go to his office and ask for help even if you don't need it, if he sees you working hard, he'll raise your grade!
Prof Magomo changed my view on Mathematics, he made the subject very approachable . The tough homework prepares you quite well for the test. Do your homework, every problem!!!
Only take this class if you do not mind accents. Tests arent to difficult. Provides a study guide after first test. Easy class if you put on the effort.
Magomo is very helpful and genuinely wants his students to succeed. I was honest with my hatred for math and he helped me throughout the entire semester, but I did put in the work as well. He makes students try their best and he works off the energy you give him. Just do your work and try to get the grade you want and he will provide.
Magomo was great! I really liked him. He was easy enough to understand about the math, and his accent isn't really troublesome. He gives you worksheets to help you understand the material and pop quizzes for extra credit, but only if you're there. Pay attention. He'll call you out if he see's you nodding off or on your phone.
He is an okay guy, but he is really hard to understand sometimes because of his accent. He is very sarcastic though and he thinks that the only reason students fail is because they do not pay attention. If you have to miss class you better contact him or he will give you a zero on the stuff.
Do not take this professor. He teaches stuff that isn't even on the curriculum and expects you to understand it.
His accent is a little hard to understand but you get used to it. He wont tell you this but at the end of the semester he will drop the lowest test and quiz grade. I finished with a 68 after all that and he still bumped me up to a 70.
If you want to learn, take his class. he wants everyone to learn and pass his class. If you not good at math, i recommend his class , because the amount of help he gives you is amazing.
Magomo is a nice person but not as a teacher. I took his night class I sat near the front and I barely could hear him or understand him. He exports all of the lecture notes onto MMLP. He frequently teaches you last minute material that he added to the exam and expects you to get the answer right on the exam, because he just taught it to you.
Not organized what so ever, makes everything more complicated! Jumps around and expects you to know how to do things. When you ask him a question he makes you sound dumb.

Has an accent, so if you have a problem understanding people with accents choose someone else. He knows his stuff and will explain it in a way you kind of understand but the MMLP was what really helped me. He does a lot and I mean A LOT of HW online but he was lenient with some deadlines. You kind of teach yourself in the class. Do the study guides and get the answers to those as those are very helpful on the tests. Not many people understood some of the ways he introduced some subjects, but use MMLP to really help you learn and grasp the chapter.
Hardest class I've ever taken. Gave him a chance despite other reviews. He only works with students he likes. Class requires extensive amount of time for homework and tests are heavily graded. Very hard to follow his lectures. He covered 4 sections of a chapter in 1 class. No reviews. Promises extra credit but doesn't give it.
he works through the algebra in problems very fast so his lectures just arent the best. calc isnt the easiest subject so u cant blame him too much. he made the 3rd exam and final relatively easy so that was great. 100% do the study guide. he's very nice and he'll do what he can to make sure u get a good grade.
His quizzes are unexpected and he prepares you poorly for them. If you miss a class you'll really regret it because of all the material he would go over. His test and quizzes are a disaster. After the mass failing of Test 2, he made the Test 3 and the Final multiple choice with the same questions and answers from the study guide. This saved many...
On the first few days of class, this professor made a good fist impression. Don't let that fool you, as for someone like me who takes notes this professor was a no go for me and I don't recommend one bit. If you have to sign up for a calculus class, beware the tests are NOT simple nor multiple choice if that matters to anyone.
He will start to explain a problem then halfway through decide to go back and change some of the initial figures so it comes out the way he wants it too. Not conducive to note taking. The homework does not correspond well to what is taught in the class. Most of the class learns form on-line sources or tutors. Worst professor I have yet taken.
Has a good knowledge of Calc 3 topics. However, too much time is wasted during lecture because he improvises example problems that often turn out to have no solution. Stick to the syllabus calendar for reading and homework even when Magomo gets behind in class. He will include later subjects on tests even if he doesn't have time to teach them.
A great guy, and even better professor. He's easy going and always around to help. I took the PreC/Trig course and it was extremely fast, but he always made time to derive formulas or answer questions. He's the perfect professor for anyone looking for a career in mathematics. He does an amazing job of connecting the arbitrary to the real world.
I absolutely did not like his class. He was so lecture heavy and is hard to understand. I do not recommend taking him.

if you want to pass this class you MUST be two chapters ahead of him at all times. his test, for whatever reason, are structured this way. come to class knowing the info that he will be discussing because his teaching is confusing if you are trying to learn from him. if you can take anyone else, I think Rasford teaches it in the summer.
This was probably the hardest grade I've had to fight for. I would not recommend him if you have a full-time job or anything that is time consuming because you will be spending around 10-15 hours a week studying or doing homework. I gave him a 3 to be fair because I did sign up for Precalc/Trig, a 5 credit hour course. Just be prepared to work.
I took Professor Magomo for Pre-Calc and Calc I as a dual enrollment student. He does a great job of helping you understand WHY you are doing the math you are doing, instead of just focusing on WHAT math you are doing. He will always find time to help in his office. These are NOT easy classes, and you should not go into them expecting an easy A.
Very nice guy, very bad teacher. He is disorganized and easily gets side tracked by his own difficult practice questions and typos. Speaks and writes in difficult math terms and symbols. Very hard to study for his tests because there is a random element to them and include problems he said in class would not be on it.
Very difficult to understand, very similar to just reading the book and the definitions out of the book. I learned more from khan academy and you tube than this professor. if your do not already have a good understanding of trig/calc, I would not recommend trying to learn from this professor. He does know the material just can't teach the material
I wouldn't recommend to take him for calc 1 because he didn't want to help me when I went to him for help, he would raise his voice if you didn't understand something that he was teaching.. he reviews something that you are getting tested on the first half of the class and expects you to learn it for the test.
He really cares about teaching and he loves doing it. Also going to him outside of class to talk about your homework is helpful.
Took this class over the summer as a transient student and it is probably the worst decision I have ever made. Didn't stick to the syllabus at all and administered exams and quizzes randomly and at bad times. He once started a test with not nearly the allotted time left in the class to finish, which is bad when you have a job. Worst experience ever
Perfect Professor! I know some people on here say he doesn't stick to the syllabus, but its because he is formatting your learning experience based on your comprehension, and not where the syllabus says you should be. He makes you do problems in front of him in class which is the best, because then you learn how to do it correctly. &Study guides!
Lectures are difficult to understand and professor gets frustrated when student does not understand something. One of the worst professors I had taken at FSW.

Took this class online to do my Intermediate math credit. The homework was easy, however, when it came to testing his questions were wayy to hard and required some geometry. Which we are NOT learning in this course. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you stress about your grade. A whole semester spent, wondering was grade I had in this course.
I took 1033 with this professor and I don't recommend him. He does not know how to teach. He is very rude and if you ask for help he gets mad and he will never answer your questions . Tests are very hard and different than homework and lectures if you wanna pass this class don't take him.
I have been out of school for a couple years and expected this to be a "intermediate" course. However, I was given hours of homework(I would spend ALL day doing it), test/quizzes on material not even covered and to top it off he does not grade any of your work! I complained to the dean and still no idea what my grade was. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
The class has difficult material, but you can really tell he wants his students to do well. As long as you are engaged in class and putting the work in, you should do really well. Never turn down his extra credit opportunities.
I've never had a class so ridiculous. This professor say will say that a test covers sections 3.1-4.1 for example, and have COMPLETELY different material on the test. He is rude and disrespectful. He sent me a message out of the blue in the middle of the semester, which at this point I had an 85% B, telling me it will be all my fault if I fail. RUN
Let me just start off by saying this is one of the worst professors I've ever had. If you are a fan of hours of homework, disrespect, and general rudeness this is the class for you. He is rude, ignorant to his students, and called my class "stupid" in an email. It got so bad I had to reach out to my school. RUN if you take this class.
This professor is something else. People dont understand what he is saying. I had to go to the math center every day. Worse class in my life. No review for exam. He goes fast. He is mad because you dont understand. He is not patient. One day he can be nice and the next day he is mean. I had to withdraw.
He does not teach well at all. He expects us to learn everything from elementary even though this is our first time learning this. There are 3 test in the whole semester but each of them are very hard since he doesnt teach very well. His accent makes it hard to understand what he is saying.
He's a great professor, very thoughtful and caring. But I'm not a native American so I can barely understand what he says all the time, his accent is very strong. I RELIED HEAVILY on my TEXTBOOK to get an A. Math is not hard with me, so if you already have a good understanding of math and think you can self-study, go for it. Again, his accent.
This professor is the WORST professor I've had in my whole life. He is unwilling to teach you the material. If you don't understand what he is teaching you he will call you stupid and tells you to withdraw. His tests also have nothing to do with the material we "learned" in class. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Do NOT take this professor. Yes this is a hard and fast pace course. Though, the professor does not make the course any easier instead HARDER/ CONFUSING. He says to ask questions if you dont understand but if you do he will NOT explain anything and tells you to figure it out on your own. He does not provide any resources for help. Just text book.

Makes the class way harder than it's supposed to be. Everything I learned was on my own at home. Lots of homework that doesn't even represent a large portion of your grade. Barely any test reviews. Fell behind and then the rest of the semester was super rushed and behind. Will never take another course with this professor.
Chose someone else. Incredibly hard to reach, tests are your grades, no test review, super rushed, and very disorganized. My takeaways from this course are that I learned how to learn math through YouTube. Worst math professor I've ever had.

So my biggest problem was that no matter how much you study you will never pass. If you do your lucky. This professor switches up the test every single time. He isnt clear with his strategy of teaching. So it makes it difficult to pass. And I went to office hours and they left me more confuse than I already was

If you do not understand something he tells you to let him know and when you ask him a question he makes fun of you that you do not know how to do it. What I like most about this professor is that he is truly passionate about math. He encourages questions, and he truly wants us to understand the material. MAC1147 is 2 courses combined, so it's hard to teach 2 courses in the span of one semester. He did his best to help us understand the material, and I would take him again.
I beg you, please don't take this professor. His teaching style is terrible, he moved WAY too fast from subject to subject and doesn't even check with each student to see if they understand the material. He called our class dumb, his heavy accent is beyond confusing, and by the end of the semester, our class alone had a 60% fail rating.
His lectures are extremely unorganized and he wastes a lot of time on useless information. This has made us fall far behind and then he blames it on us. He sends emails telling students to withdraw. If you're looking down and writing notes, he thinks you aren't paying attention. If you like being degraded and humiliated, take this class.
Took Dr. Magomos Calc 2 class. I will say he is a tough grader and sometimes a little disorganized. But he truly cares about you succeeding. Make sure to take advantages of his offices hours because he offers a lot of extra credit. He even answered on of my questions on the Saturday night. He may be a difficult professors, but he is top tier.
When the hurricane hit mid-semester he had no idea how to manage. The lectures became disorganized and the class fell far behind. After 3 months of doing assignments from home, with several students trying to withdraw he decided to ask the admin to have our final in-person. He does try to teach, he's just extremely unforgiving regardless.
If you don't understand simple math don't take this professor. I struggled and had to self-teach myself. He has a very strong accent and is a heavy grader
Dr. Magomo seems to be a generally kind person. Okay, that aside- his class is horrible. He falls behind on material, blames us for it, and then skips the upcoming material entirely. ABSOLUTELY NO TEST PREP. He doesn't teach math, he reads slides, and treats you poorly if you don't understand. I would not him again.
If you communicated with him, he was nice, but he is hard to understand. His lectures are him reading straight off the PowerPoint and he has a tough accent to understand. Also, don't bother asking a question because he often can't answer it, if you can choose another prof. I would, I was on great terms with him and it was still a struggle.
You NEED to see him office hours. If there is a class after yours he will mind the time more than knowing someone understands a topic. Then when you see him in the office you will need to take over and do the problem in front of him and ask him to watch you step by step. Because he will do an example problem and assume you get it. He makes his students go to the board and embarrasses them in front of the class if they get confused. I currently have a B+ in his class and when I went to his office for assistance he told me he only helps failing
Don't take this class!!!! This class is very hard!!! He gets mad when you don't know the answer, picks on you if he feels like you not "doing anything", and also argues with you don't have your calculator. This class was the absolute the worst. Don't take this class if you don't want to fail.
Poor communication, a cold attitude, and deceptively challenging tests you could never leave with more than a 70%, regardless of how long you studied. Due dates wouldn't match up with the syllabus/announcements, and the workload was insane for such little payoff. Self-taught, absolutely zero support from Dr. Magomo. Studying did little to help.

I took this class online and the assignments and mml quizzes were easy because you had multiple tries. However, your entire grade depends on 3 tests that he gives you barely anytime to prepare for, only time to prepare for final which is barely weighted. Also, no actual lectures from him.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS PLEASE!!!! He's the worst math teacher known to man. He literally pressed me for not knowing the answer and he gives a lot of homework for 10% of the grade with 3 test being 50%. Do not listen to the 5 star reviews they're full of baloney.
I was not expecting so many bad reviews, I wouldn't say he's the worst teacher but there could be better. If you communicate with him he is very understanding. I honestly feel like I taught myself this course with all the assignments he would assign but if i was ever stuck, he was good help.
If you are in the process of registering for classes trust me when I say don't take him. He is so rude in his emails and literally gets mad at his students when we do everything right. I've never meant someone so inconsiderate. I had trouble with one of my proctor tests and had to email about it and he literally was so rude about it.
This professor is very tough on you if you do not understand and goes at a very fast pace.
Mr. Magomo did not teach at all. Be prepared to teach yourself and when you need to email him only to get a response weeks later. Just don't take his class; it's hours of homework worth 10% of your grade, while the tests you get no preparation for are worth 50%. He had no lectures, only PowerPoint slides and homework he didn't make.
Answers emails dry/mean. No lessons are up for online students. All have to be self-taught. Dates on Canvas are all mixed up. Tests have material that isn't from the chapters. Overall, it's unorganized; you have to teach yourself everything, and it's very tough to do well that way. I would do anything to not take this class again.
Beware of Dr. Magomo. Grade is purely based on 4 heavy test grades (including final). Hours are spent on homework leading it to not even affect your grade. He goes on rants during class, moves extremely fast and gets frustrated at his class when we are behind and not understanding. Tests are nothing like class work. I spent hours self teaching.

If you don't be prepared to have to google the subject. It's mostly just trying to learn based off the online textbook. There's about 30 diff assignments so if you fall behind once you're kinda cooked. The only reason I passed is because I was taking another math class at the same time that explained the topics to me.
Professor Magomo's class is tough, but using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can really help. He moves quickly, so staying engaged and using online resources for study prep is key to succeeding.
Very entitled. He sends a message on canvas every day over useless things. Instead of putting out an announcement like 'hey just a reminder, if you got a zero on this exam its because this and this, he'll send a message saying 'I have told you guys multiple times not to do this and this, now you have consquences'. His rude texts pile up quick
He is so unprofessional, especially with his inboxes.
Before I start I recommend Professor Leonard on YouTube to past his class. He doesn't teach at all, only assigns google slide + couple links that don't work. You're literally on your own. I've taken math classes before : both online and in person and to be fair just take another professor for your sake . Take someone else.

Whatever you do just take another teacher. I took him and I regret it. I dropped the class because no way I was passing it, when students get a bad grade in exams or homework, he leaves pretty unprofessional group emails saying he's disappointed as if he isn't the one who doesn't teach? everyone in my class either dropped the class or failed it.
This genuinely was the worst experience I have ever had at FSW. If you are not naturally good at math, you will fail, and he will make you feel bad for it. He will call you out in front of everyone and make you answer question after question, and make you feel bad for not knowing without helping. Avoid this professor by ALL MEANS.
Overall worst experience with a college professor I have had. If you are considering taking his class do yourself a favor and run.. no sprint the opposite direction. Extremely unprofessional, will send group emails insulting students for not following the rules, which he did not specify.
Doesn't teach, Very rude, mocks students in front of others. His tests are never on the actual material you learn about. Don't ask for help. He will insult you for not understanding the material and then tell you to read the textbook. If he's the only teacher left, do the class another time with a better teacher. He is bottom of the barrel.
Do not take this professor! He is disrespectful and rude, calls you out by the wrong name after you correct him. Does not explain things throughly, your grade is really based on your final.
If you're not good with math and have a hard time processing it fast, I wouldn't recommend this professor. I find myself having to teach myself the material since the way he goes over the lessons is hard to grasp onto.
2022 ian i had no way of getting off island no wifi service on/off. school opened he demanded we be there for exam or email him for code which i did. day of exam still no code bc i did not give him good enough expl to why i was not on campus. emailed again and he starts spamming my personal # screaming why should he let me test, why not on campus
He teaches different than the Pearson homework which is confusing. If I ask a question for clarification he doesn't go into depth about it just a quick short answer next question. The pop quizzes are grade weird. I failed everything single test we had and ended the course with a F. Now I have to retake it love that.
Save your time and money and do not take this class with this professor.
Let me start off by saying I have never failed a math class ever. This was the worst professor of all time he over complicates everything. He was extremely disrespectful and would call us out if we don't know something and say things like it's "easy" and that "we should know this stuff". I truly don't understand how he is still at FSW.
this professor is genuinely the most disrespectful and rude person I have ever met. Please for the love of god don't take his class. You are guaranteed to fail. I have no idea how he is still teacher at FSW.
By all means, avoid this professor!
I would steer away from this professor. The material in Pearson and tests were different from what he would teach. He wouldn't teach in depth and barely finished material in time for the final.
