very easy going guy.only 2 tests. one mult choice and one true/false. The final is optional. Go to class take notes and u'll do fine. I would recommend to anyone.

Awesome prof. a really great guy. If you just show up to class show some interest you will pass easily. His big thing is participation, he just wants to know what his class thinks. A great class to voice your views of our society in.

He is a great teacher, one of the best I have had. His summer class is the easiest, we right 10 2page papers. He makes the class fun and interesting. Take his class if you can, I really enjoyed it. I will try to take him again.

Sometimes I fell asleep and sometimes I was intrigued with the discussion. It depends on the day, but he is a good teacher. Participate enough to let him know who you are, but not so much that the rest of the class want you to shut up (ai yai yai).

Great guy, this is my only 8 am class and I don't mind getting up for it. Very interesting and teaches very well.

8am classes arent fun in general, but he made it interesting. Some parts are boring, but towards the end, you get into it.

I don't like taking early classes but he is a great professor. If you can pass his test then you'll pass the class

This teacher is very easy. He also is very intelligent and really makes you think about the world we live in today. I recommend this class for all you slackers out there because you don't have to come to class and you can still pass!

He is very helpful, his lectures are fun and easy to understand- He usually gives the class an option of test or paper and tells you what you need to do in order to get a good grade (follow instructions and he will give you an A)

This guy is hilarious! I would definately reccomend him. His lectures are not boring and the tests were questions taken exactly from quizzes he told us to take online. The only thing is the tests are the only grades in the class. Final is optional...take him!

He's the best. All you have to do is study the practice tests on the website and he uses the exact same questions on his test. If you are happy with your grade after the first 2 tests you dont have to come to class anymore. Honestly i still wanted to because he's really interesting and well spoken.

His class was so awesome. I loved having him as a professor. Take him for Soc200. One day he does notes the next day is discussion it's awesome.

I went to three classes total, didn't take the final, and had gone out the night before two of the tests. My grade in the end was a B. Plus he made the classes i actually went to interesting. He's pretty funny too. He's better the the other soc. teacher's out there.

awesome teacher, only had class for the first month of the sem and got a C+ had to write 2 pg paper every week but it was worth it for having the rest of the sem off. make sure to mkae appointments w/ him if you dont understand.

Great teacher! He doesn't care if you go to class, tests are all taken from online practice tests. Study those and you'll get an A. Even though you don't have to, attending class isn't bad - he makes it interesting.

People only dont like him if they do stupid stuff like walk up to him while he's lecturing. He knows what he's talking about and makes it interesting by having discussions in class, he cares what you think and doesn't choose 'favorites' or care about attendance, he only cares if you get it or not.

Great teacher.Attendence can't hurt you, but it can give u extra points at end of semester.Only 2 tests. 1st one is RIGHT off of his website no joke. 2nd one he tricks u and makes it hard.But in general the class is easy. The final is optional and is all essay but really easy he tells u about it

Pretty good teacher. He makes his lectures interesting. He used to take the tests from the internet but he switched it up on us :( He is a cool guy though. I would suggest going to class now that he has changed the tests!

He's an easy teacher compared to other idiots I taken. He clear and straight forward. Study all your notes and you will get an A.

Good teacher, is only interested in making sure you understand the material, is also very helpful when you ask questions. I had him over the summer so didn't have to take any of his tests, only write papers... probably skews my opinion.

Dr. McConatha is an awesome professor. Very entertaining and intelligent. His exams were surprisingly easier than I expected. I went to class everyday, barely studied, and finished with a B. Most of the information is common sense...pay attention in class and you're golden.

Fun teacher! Classes are huge but he makes them seem small and personable. Good sense of humor but little time for the typical whining and ****ing students utilize to bluff their way through school. Study for the tests b/c there's barely any homework. Keep an open mind, Sociology can be interesting if you work at it a little.

easy class, I only went to 1/2 of them, tuesday was lectures, thursday was discussion ab the lecture. Entertaining, experienced and friendly. Knows his****. If you do good on the first two tests = no final! Help him out and give him feedback cause he really wants you to take it all in.

Best teacher by far! His class is worth attending because it is interesting and there's intelligent conversation. I absolutely reccomend him!

Hes very nice! i had class Tuesday Thursday, we had class every Tuesday, and Thursday we would meet for a big project. very interested in what he does. He is cool. If you like to work alot outside the class - take him. the big project throughout the class is helping an orphanage in India. Not Too hard! two tests, and final is optional.

He was the best teacher! He was fun and informative. He kept class interesting and was very easy going! TAKE IT IF YOU ARE SMART! He basically tells you what are on the tests and if you study a little you will be OCMPLETELY fine!!!! Finals are optional depending on other test scores.... GO FOR IT!

Fun discussions. He is very blunt with words in class. Study his power points before the test and you will be okay. His tests are kind of hard though. But he gives a lot of extra credit. He cancelled class a lot:) He makes you fundraise for Ashryah Initiative (poor children in India.Pretty much my whole class got A's though.

He is very nice and a hippie. He gives 2 tests and an optional final w. service learning project. The first is mutliple choice the second is true and false. And i dont know about you but i SUCK at true and false and will probably bring your grade to a B-, I am taking the final unfortunatly. But he is a great teacher! And is happy to help.

Easy class! No textbook, just internet wiki. Tests are easy, just study the powerpoints. He does get annoyed easily though and makes 10% of your grade based on raising money for an organization in Africa (which is so unorganized and not as nice as it seems). Oh, and he's sexy.

Hands down easy class of college so far. It helps if you go to class but his tests are a piece of cake. Offers extra credit too- which makes in almost impossible to get anything less than 100%

take his class...it's really interesting...the first test was hard for me...but the second test was super easy...plus there's extra credit...if you do that, then you're definitely going to get an A.

The only reason I got a C is because I thought the class was a joke and didn't study...once. The class is super easy, I highly recommend him.

I loved this guy. very easy to understand and technology savvy. he always incorporates current events in his class. no one should get less then a B in this class. Oh and you dont have to buy a book!

This is one of the best Teachers at WCU! Attendane isnt mandatory, doesnt use the book and requires everyone to follow him on twitter for the assignments! Coolest professor I know. Also he doesnt make you stay the whole class period if he is done with the class discussion. Test are all online. Take him!!

This class was one big group assignment. You got to pick your groups. We only met for class maybe 5 times, your supposed to meet with your groups, through the semester we had 3 things due, just so he knew we were working on something and than finals week a 4 page paper PER GROUP not person and power point were due, this class was CAKE, hes awesome!

Such an easy A, but still an interesting course. Would absolutely recommend.

If your really intrested in sociology i would not recommend but if you need a easy gen ed i would 100% recommend this! he is so nice and you only take 2 tests and there both online. if you get an A on both you do not need to take the final! You only need to go to class once a week. dont wait until the last minute to do the twitter responses though!

Great class. Uses twitter for homework which makes it a lot easier and interesting. Final is optional, so get the easy A's throughout the semester. Use the power point slides for the online test and their really easy. Really nice guy too.

Probably went to this class 4 times the whole semester. Tuesdays are lecture (takes attendance) and thursdays are discussions (optional). Kind of hard to pay attention because he's so easy. Chillest professor on campus, easiest class I have ever taken so, both tests are online, twitter response every week which is so basic. Definitely take him, it's an easy A type of class.

Dr. McConatha uses an online textbook for SOC 200 and the two exams are on D2L, so that was extremely convenient. In class you have the chance to argue your answers, so sometimes he will give everyone extra credit. You don't have to take the final as long as you take the first two exams, do the Twitter responses, and are satisfied with your grade.

Take this class! He is the man! If you skip class it doesn't matter but his class is one you don't mind going to. Respond to 10 articles he posts on twitter and take the midterm and final thats the class (do the tests in a group of people from class) A+ is easy for a class worth your time without busy work

McConatha is the man! There are 2 online exams and 10 responses to articles he posts done on D2L. Attendance is not mandatory, but I went to almost every single one because he made it interesting. He let us out early pretty much every time. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in sociology.

He is super laid back and chill. He lectures on tuesday with a powerpoint and a discussion on thursday. He posts twitter articles online and you discuss those. My attendence was optional, but no sure if he does that every semester. 2 tests, optional final and no textbook. You literally cannot fail his class if you show up. Really cool guy.

The easiest class you'll take for sociology. Attendance is optional, no homework besides 2 twitter responses, and 2 tests. the class is much easier if you go to class, but doable if you decide not to.

This is the easiest soc class you will ever take. Showed up to about 5 classes and still passed. Class is optional and everything is online (exams, hw)

We watched Cardi B, 21 Savage, Kendrick, etc. music videos all of one class . Dr. McConatha is seriously amazing. Go to the lecture class and take notes. Then go to the discussion class just because it is interesting and fun. Final is optional, just do well on your other assignments and this class will literally be the least of your worries.

Take the Test with the group and do all of the Twitter work easy A

One of my favorite teachers! Such a great person and professor. Take him if you have the opportunity because you will really learn a lot.

Dr. McConatha was an amazing professor. Easiest class I've ever taken in my life. As long as you did the 10 twitter responses and did decent on the 2 exams, you son't have to take the optional final. Sad that he's retiring after the winter semester.

if you like your grade from the 2 exams and 10 twitter responses then you can opt out of the written final. exams are online and he encourages you to work with classmates on it. all powerpoints online. class was supposed to be over an hour but we were never there more than 45 min.

One of the easiest classes I've taken at wcu. 10 short twitter article responses and 2 tests word for word from powerpoints and you can take them with a group if you want. Never keeps class for the full time and final is optional. Lectures can be kind of boring but attendance isn't mandatory. Overall easy A.
