There are a lot of assignments. I have had more assignments in this class than anybody else I know taking it with another professor. However, Dr. O'Keefe is very helpful. If you send him an email, he will recommend ways to improve your paper and help you think of ideas. VERY helpful and a nice person, he means well and grades fairly.

There is a lot of work in this class but most of it is very easy. If you do the work and go to the lectures, you will do very well in the class. The exams are all short answer, but it's all from the Firehoses. He is super nice and he makes literature enjoyable!

He is a great guy that really loves what he is teaching which is why its hard. He goes over tons and tons of poems and stories and expects you to know everything about the work, author, time period, and techniques used in them. Gives a lot of small assignments every week that will scare you at first look but are easy and save your grade.

Hands down the worst class I've taken. I honestly think Auburn should fire him. If you are not an English major there is really no reason to take this class. If there is any other class available go ahead and save yourself the time and effort. Take anything else. Douglas is the problem, there are endless readings and quizzes every day.

Dr. O'Keefe is horrible. He assigns so much work, and while it is doable, his tests are impossible. Most of us take a literature because we have to, but he treats this course as if we do not have any other classes that we also have to worry about. Exams are all 40 questions short answer and you have to know every detail about every reading.
