Professor Peterson is easily the EASIEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is always willing to help you out and is an extremely nice guy. There are about 15 essays that you do total, and almost all of them, he will let you correct them if you did poorly. He was always available to help and always has a smile. TAKE HIM!

Though sometimes he does get a bit boring by talking a lot but his discussion is always so interesting!

Your final grade is all of your points added which consists of three 1000 words essays, five 500 word short essays, in class writings, and little grammar quizzes (if he wants to) And an essay type final (unless you like your grade) STRESS FREE CLASS! And he is so sweet and helpful :)

TAKE HIM! He is a great teacher. I actually loved this class. It was very laid back, he accepts late work without penalty if you are in a bind, and gives you chances to redu your work if need be. You will not fail his class if you put in effort. TAKE HIM!

He's an amazing teacher, and he really tries to make sure you pass the class, and understand the material. He is very understanding if you have a situation which prohibits you from turning work on time.

Mr. Peterson is one of the nicest people that you will ever meet. He's one of those teachers were no answer is ever wrong, but it's always "close" or, "Here's a better answer..." We watched several interesting documentaries, didn't write a research people, minimal homework, and there was no final exam. 10/10 would recommend Mr. Peterson.

Mr. Peterson, was hands down the best English professor that I had so far! He is very simple and is also passionate about teaching. He does give grammar quizzes and essays, but he would prefer to grade you on your efforts. He cares more about a student learning than strictly just giving them a grade for their mistakes. As long as you show up to class and write the small stories he requires, it is almost impossible to fail his class. I wish all my teachers were as easy and helpful as he was.

Prof. Peterson is a great person. His class is easy but not in a bad way. He wants you to know the information, but the material is common sense! If you want an A, put an effort in on your speeches. Make it something interesting. Quizzes and final are super easy. Straight from book and ppts... read them. Short, and like I said, common sense.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER

i had him for ENC 1101 this semester that just passed. it is an easy A class, if you do all essays! and he gives out extra credit all the time. hes a little boring sometimes. after the each quiz he goes over them Easy A! hopefully his 1102 class opens up next semester 2016.

He's a very easy going and helpful man. You will be graded by the quality of your writing. He's generous with the grades. He is flexible and understanding. I purchased the textbook, but think I would have survived without it. He expects participation and seems to get upset if you don't.

He was really helpful when it came to essays. He would help you and give you the points you deserve. He was a really easy grader, gave you extra time to turn in work. Up until the last day, which was good for some students. If you missed a lot of classes, he would mark your grade down. Overall I liked his class.

He's an amazing teacher. you get 12 essays. 10 essays are 500 words and 2 are 1,000, and you get 2 grammar quizzes . he is really an easy grader and if you make a mistake in your papers and if you hand them in on time, he will let you correct your mistakes and hand it in again.

It's INSANE how nice and sweet Doug is. LOVE HIM. Impossible to NOT get an A in his class. Do all the homework, which are EASY. He gives so much opportunity for you to bring your grade up. VERY understanding. I bought the Browns book b/c it looks like a good investment the Patterns book i found a link online. He mostly blows up the pages on board.

Professor Peterson is what makes an AMAZING professor. He is super laid back and chill. He let's you turn in assignment even a month late and will only take away one point. I missed class so many times and I was still able to catch up with the workload. You have 6 writing assignments each 600 words and then a 1500 word research paper. TAKE HIM!!!!!

I loved this class; he genuinely cares about his students. There is a lot of writing of course, but the topics are easy to write about. He gives you fantastic feedback on your writing and allows you to redo an essay for a better grade.

Mr. Douglass Peterson is the best teacher. He takes his job very seriously. He is always on time. Though summer class was too long but he made it very joyful. His way of teaching is very good. If you really want to learn then take his class.

Honestly, Mr. Peterson is one of the nicest professors at HCC. Not only does he clearly show his love and enthusiasm for English, but his presence alone makes me smile. His personality is so empathetic and grandfatherly. You can see the benevolence in his eyes. I wish I could take him for ENC 1102, but I can take him for LIT 2000 in the fall. :)

Professor Douglas Peterson, is a wonderful teacher. Not only he is very knowledgeable, but also he is an outstanding human being. He genuinely care for his students. His ENC1101 class is an easy A if you do the homeworks and make an effort .He is very flexible if an student has a situation . Over all Mr. Douglas is selfless and knowledgeable .

Easiest A I've gotten so far, my friend had a grade of 105.67% at the end of the semester. Extra credit is basically given for every assignment if you do good enough, no final exam, essays are super short 600 words usually. Take him, super super superrrr easy A+.

Professor Peterson deeply cares about his student and works with you if you had any problems. As long as you attended most of the class, you will do well in his class. I really enjoyed his class, I wish I could take him for another class.

TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! you have 500 words essay almost every week but my writing has become better. I was horrible when it came to writing, but this class helped a lot. He is a light grader. After you do 2 or 3 essays you will find it very essay to do the next essays. Their are no grammar test. He is such a nice guy, I would love to have him again.

This professor is very kind and caring. He gives journals due every week, about 500 hundred words, but very easy to do and easy grader. Just do the work and it'll be a breeze.

Mr. Peterson: outright my top three favorite professors at HCC. I took him for ENC1101 & LIT2000. He is a very kind older man and is so incredibly easy to talk to. Most of the time, I even stopped by his office just to conversate! LIT2000 covered Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and more a general audience would enjoy. I'll miss having him.

Professor D is such an amazing person. Yes you have to do reading journals 500 word count due to the Gordon rule. He actually cares for each and everyone of in the class. If you at least try he will give you the credit. I will most definitely be taking him for ENC1102. YOU WONT REGRET TAKING HIM!!!!!!

Take professor Peterson for ENC1011! He grades easy. I got an A on all of my papers and I know Im not the best writer. He gives positive feedback too! His grammar lectures are boring but you dont really need to pay attention. The in class writing and journals are so easy. Take him if you want an easy A!

There are 5 reading journals, in class grammar assignments, 7 in class writing assignments, and 1 1250-1500 word essay throughout the semester. The grammar final isn't really a final. For LIT, we watched a bunch of films. You have to do online journals but they are only 200 words and only due every few weeks. You have to buy a few books off amazon but its less than $20. He is really understanding, gives extra credit, willing to help, and very funny. The class is overall fun and I would recommend it to anyone.

The discussions can count as an assignment and I get participation points. Since covid, there's more work online but they're easy and doable and at reasonable due dates. Love him

I have Professor Peterson for ENC 1101 and I will definitely take him for ENC 1102 next semester. He always gives you feedback on your writing without deducting points like professors usually do. Not that much work on his class, just the perfect amount. He is such a sweet person!

Always has a smile on his face, really brightened my whole day honestly. Will give you constructive criticism on your writing but won't penalize you if you are still developing your writing. This class is such an easy A, he has no tests, just a few short quizes based off short storys and the only papers you have are short journal entries. The final paper at the end of the sem is an easy 2-3 pager. Just attend class and do the small amount of work he gives and theres your A! Prof. Peterson is so caring and understanding.

I loved this course, it was so easy with only around 5 essays ( mostly opinionated.) He gives you ALOT of smaller quizzes (5-10 q's) that you can take over and over for the best grade. He is a very caring guy who obviously loves what he does. Taking him is a MUST. Also free download of the textbook. You will not regret it!

Best Professor ever, he is really nice. Once you submit your work he will look at it and send you corrections that you can fix and send it to him again for 100%.

Highly recommend! There was a lot of work but its easy. A few essays and a lot of 5 to 10 question quizzes. He lets you take all quizzes and submit all essays over again until you get a 100%. If you do not have an A in this class then you are lazy! He genuinely cares! He lets you get 100% on everything because he says it helps you learn.

Professor Douglas Peterson, has been amazing with giving feedback and helping where you need it. As well as giving multiple opportunities to correct your grade to get the scores you desire. Hes been my favorite teacher by far and Ive learned so much from him. If he wasnt retiring I would request him for English comp 2. Hes a great teacher!
