The class coursework itself is straightforwad enough. There are a few issues in the online course that are outside of the professors control, but he was always available by phone and made it clear what you would need to do to pass with an A. Did the extra credit just to be sure.

Professor Phinney syallbus clearly outlines what you are to expect in the class. Also, he offers you extra credit to help you bring your grade up. He is a very caring teacher because he would allow to make up a work or make you re-submit for a higher grade. He is a fair grader and if you fail its because you didn't put effort in your work

Easy A/B just check the due dates and make sure you address students by their name when reply to other student's post because points will be deducted if you don't. But, overall, he's a great professor and gives extra credit. You cannot fail.

I did horrible on the midterm and I still managed to pass Professor Phinnys class with an A!! It was hard because their was no study guides but he lets you use your notes and the book. This course was intense because it was a 16 week class compacted in 6 weeks. Be prepared to read and do assignments, but it is a very interesting class. Very fair grader, gives good feedback. Responds promptly to emails and texts. Gives multiple extra credits to help you get a good grade. I would definitely take this professor again!!!

Great professor! through out the whole class discussion(respond 2 people) and quiz due every week. 2 assignments and a presentation. For midterm and final you choose 2 questions to do 2-3 paragraph essay and multiple choice questions timed like two hours and about 50 questions. If you read you will be fine and will be easy. Love this prof!

The coursework wasn't burdening and he gives good feedback on your assignments. In general, the course even if it was sped up, was not difficult. He gives 2 attempts on quizzes and extra credit.

Professor Phinney class was great. He replied to all my emails, gave me feedback on all my work, and reminded us what was due. The class is easy if you are focused. You have assignments every week, but they are easy and should only take you about and 1-2 hours. You can easily get an A in this class if you don't forget anything.

This is the best Professor ever. This was a 6 weeks class so it was a lot of work due every other day but if you stay on top of it and give it your all you won't regret it. Ive taken online classes for close to 6 years and Ive always felt like it was pulling teeth to get a email response or my papers graded. He is immediate with the responses to any of your needs and is clear on what his expectations are. I never struggled in the class. He opened assignments early for me when asked. 100% WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Professor Phinney was very nice and understanding. As the actual course goes, there are weekly quizzes and discussions, which are fairly easy. There's 2 'worksheets' and one project that's assigned throughout the entire course. The midterm and final are a combination of all the quizzes, so I took pictures and studied those. Easy 'A' class!

I took AMH2020 online with Professor Phinney. The class has asignments due each week along with quizzes and discussion usually every other week. The course itself it not difficulty if you stay up to date with everything. I would take this professor again.

The class is very straight forward. There are discussions and quizzes due weekly. Occasionally there is a longer assignment that takes maybe 1-1.5 hrs to complete but not bad. I dedicated maybe 2-3 hours a week to this class and passed easily.

There are a lot of reading involved. However, the professor is very helpful and provides clear instructions. He grades your work the day after you submit it, even if you are working ahead and the work is not due yet.

Professor Phinney was great. I didn't take my Mid Term, missed a ton of assignments and still passed with a high C (you can do MUCH better). There was a lot of reading, but you honestly don't have to read everything if you know how to search for answers. Extra credit assignments. This was an awesome class! Just make sure to finish your work on time and read the online textbook. You could easily finish the course weeks before it's actually finished. You could do quizzes, tests, discussion question, and SAQ's with your notes and textbook. Final is open notes! Easy A! As long as you follow grading criteria.

Easiest A I've ever had at Broward College. Literally just submit, all of your work and you will have a guaranteed A. He also gives heavy weighted extra credit that could easily take a C average to an A. Great with communication. 10/10 recommend, especially if you are new to online classes.

Great professor I took his class online and it is a history course which means it is time consuming as far as the readings but the professor gives great feedbacks. Every point counts so start smart by caring early in the semester instead of when you see youre grades are dropping. I would definitely take his class again.

Good professor! There was a lot of reading and writing but that is typical for an online class. If you work smart, it's an easy A - just make sure you complete everything that he asks of you such as the word count. He also gives really good feedback and grades everything quickly.

Good professor, very professional. Follow his instructions and do your homework on time. Dont copy anybody else or the internet and you will pass the class.

I have no negative comments about this professor, he was a quick and fair grader, just follow the directions and you will pass. Open book for final and extra credit. My only advice is to make sure when you reply to discussion you address the name of the person who you are relying too! I forgot on one discussion and got a D which is my own fault.

The discussions are also supper easy to do. They only need to be 100 words long. He didn't give that much work. No essays or anything difficult. There were only four assignments.

There were enough extra credit assignments available to help you understand each chapter better and help balance missed assignments or low grades received. The course was not difficult neither were the quizzes. Class and responsibilities were easy to understand. Professor Phinney was also very accessible and willing to help.

I had Professor Phinney for AMH2010 through dual enrollment at Broward Online. He was always quickly accessible for anything and truly cares about his students. He gives two 50 point extra credits to help regain any of the missing 900. The course is a lot of reading and writing but put in effort and you will do fine. I would recommend for anyone.

During the whole class you have to read a lot to be able to answer all the quizzes in each module. The reading is very enjoyable and the reflections are super interesting. The need to put yourself in the position of whoever is arguing during the different stages makes you reflect a lot and look at other points of view. I really enjoyed this class.

Am I allowed to say this is one of the best professors I've ever had? I mean the reviews don't lie. You have to be a self starter. You will not get by without reading and learning the material. If you space your time right the class is great. If you try and pile everything on, you will struggle. There were many quizzes but no major tests. We did have one final writing assignment that was worth 50% of our grade. Loved the class overall!!

I took Professor Phinney Summer 2023. His class was very straight forward. The work is very easy. I took him for the last six weeks of the summer. The workload was a bit much, but as long as you're focused it's a piece of cake. There is one final paper, but he isn't a tough grader.

They make the assignments and coursework totally understandable. It's clear they want us to succeed. Such a positive online learning experience!

Take him!! Prof. Phinney gives a clear syllabus, helpful video, & is not a tough grader. He wants you to do well & is available if you're stuck. I took his 6 wk class & workload wasn't too much. Open book quiz after each unit (2 chances), discussion post for each unit-nothing crazy, no midterm, no tests, 1 final paper done in stages w/feedback.

This professor made the class fun and the material interesting. All the material was graded quickly and I could improve the assignments with the feedback. I learned the material, did the assignments, and got an A. Doesn't get better than that.

He responds quickly to as many discussion posts as he can, and gives good feedback and constructive criticism on how to improve on written assignments. He also provides opportunities for extra credit at the beginning of the course for doing a syllabus quiz and an introduction discussion post.

Professor Phinney helps you as much as you need all throughout the course, specifically on the research paper. If your work needs some extra help he will be more than glad to assist you and always answers as quickly as possible. He will always give feedback so you will never question if your work is good or not. It is easy to get a good grade.

Professor Phinney Douglas was an amazing teacher! He quickly graded my discussions and work and gave great feedback on my assignments. While there was some reading involved, the assignments that were given were fairly straightfoward- one discussion and quiz per section. (He gives 2 attempts for each quiz) I would definitely take him again!

Professor Phinney is an awesome professor. Very knowledgeable and gives feedback on a regular basis. He also has several videos for tips and helpful information that will help you throughout the course. You can tell he really cares about what he does and really makes the learning experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend him!

I have been attending BC for about 2 years now, and Professor Phinney has been the best teacher I have come across so far. He is extremely detailed and involved and with attending online I appreciated how involved he was and when an assessment was not correct he would give you amazing feedback and would allow you to submit the assignment again.

Professor Phinney is an amazing teacher, I had him for AMH2010 and AMH2020. Both classes consist of a quiz and discussion per unit, and a final paper that is worth half of your grade. Professor Phinney has videos that break down all the assignments for the final paper and offers extra help if needed. He is truly super kind and understanding.

He was not a difficult professor and was understanding if you turned your work in a bit late he would let it slid once and a while. as long as you communicated with him he was great.

Super fast and easy grader Each module comes with discussions and quizzes. I also took this class in the summer so the work may seem like alot but you have some time to do it. One final 5 page research paper is assigned near the end.

By far one of my favorite professors, I have ever had. Such an amazing professor!

This has been my favorite Professor, he is kind and caring. The work is interesting and he fosters a fun environment to learn in even though it's all online. I can not say enough nice things about him!!

AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! Definitely take him! He is very fast with grading assignments. There is a lot of discussion posts, papers and quizzes (not proctored) but they were very easy! As long as you stay on top of your work you will pass with an A :)

As long as you read your syllabus and careful instructions, you'll be fine. He truly does care about everyone doing good in his class. I would definitely take his class again.

He really cares about his students and responds fast. Took this as a dual enrollment class and it was easy. The final is only a research paper.

Genuinely one of the kindest professors I've ever had the pleasure of having! Excellent professor, the material was interesting and fun to learn about, which is hard to come by nowadays! If I could re-take this class, I would do it again! I cannot find a single con to having this professor, because he made learning so enjoyable for me! 10/10!

BEST PROFESSOR IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!! I was actually able to enjoy learning without worrying about my grade! He is super nice when grading, I got 100% on all 15 discussions and on each of the 5 final paper related assignments. He gives his personal phone# and responds super quick. Watch his video in the beginning! TAKE HIM! You will not regret it!

Professor Phinney is literally a breath of fresh air. By far my favorite professor at BC. Very straightforward and present which is important. Always gives feedback and responds/ grades immediately. Very understanding of the fact that his students have lives!

Professor Phinney is one of the best instructors I've ever had. His teaching style is unforgettable because he doesn't just teach history—he makes you experience it. He puts you in the shoes of people who actually lived through them. He encourages you to think deeply, reflect personally, and write from a real human perspective. Take his class.

I took AMH2020 online with this professor. He had a lot of helpful videos and made the course easy to understand. This professor was extremely helpful and gives great feedback. Overall had a great experience, would recommend.

Nice professor and answers your emails/text in a timely manner. Didn't have to pay for the online textbook. Assignments and tests are easy. Research paper as a final which he gives you feedback on in your first draft submission to perfect it. 10/10 would take again!
