Boring, wants your attention, teaches prinicple of clear and concise, but is not himself. Better than other teachers in that category.
Good guy, likes your attention, pretty easy grader, def. the best for this class ... take him
Doesn't teach you anything, i took no knowledge from this course. Feared going to class due to boredom. would take someone else
This guy is GREAT. He takes a lot of interest in his students and makes difficult subject matter clear. He's very firm in his grading so do NOT screw around or you may have to repeat the class. Definitely a "taker."
Fun class, thought provoking issues raised. He's a good prof, makes you think while guiding you the whole way.
very strict on his policies. doesn't mess around. let's you redo papers with a minor penalty. sometimes is not clear when lectures
An excellent teacher, loves what he does. Exams do not count for the majority of the grade, although they can be tricky. Classes can be boring, but he makes you think about the material. Take him for this class.
Very boring lectures, but he is a easy grader. He is also a very nice person and a ok teacher.
Class is extremely boring and he has no idea how to lecture. Since he has strict absence policies, you will be forced to sit through every class. Loves to go off on tangents and talk about random stuff. You will learn nothing in his class at all.
Attend class and study definitions for essay exam. He is a great guy, very helpful!
he's a nice guy, gives you a study guide before the test, tests are all essay so make sure u study. he gives you a chance to redo any assignment for a better grade as much as you want. classes are pretty interesting- an easy a or b if u study the guide before the test
Very personable guy. Gives you a study guide with 50 terms to know for the midterm and final. One group and one individual case analysis which you can rewrite as often as you want, one 5 minute group presentation, that's it. Attendance is mandatory and graded though
Makes you study 50 terms for a midterm, but only puts 4 of them on exam. Seems unorganzied and always changes due dates for assignments. Makes you do a case analysis with a teaching note (thats stupid I am not a teacher)
Makes you study 50 terms for a midterm, but only puts 15 of them on exam. so boring to sit through in class. i picked him b/c he had a good rating but now i regret it and im a B+ student and i will prob get a C or C+. Take someone else
He sucks, make sure that everyone in your group does not plagiarize or everyone in the group will be held accountable even if only one member is responsible. Class is extremely boring and teacher is not helpful. He thinks he is always right.
Classes are pointless, 50 terms to know, 15 on the test. Doesn't listen to the advice he asks for. Calls people out in class to make them look unknowledgeable. Asks for answers, gets an answer, then repeats the same answer taking twice as long. Has no idea what a teacher is supposed to be. Boring & non-sentimental. Yeah, I'm pissed and he sucks
Grading is unclear. Tests are essay. Nice guy. Made alot of students angry with his views on "academic dishonesty"
This guy is terrible. Expects you to run his class. If you dont ask the question, he wont teach it. HARD tests, LONG project, SUPER boring. Gives you two super technical 20 page long articles and considers that helpful. Will openly admit he is only teaching about half the material. Your whole grade pretty much depends on the final exam. AVOID.
worst teacher at towson. he calls people out in the middle of class saying they "look confused" or "look like they don't understand" seemingly to humiliate them. asks for suggestions but doesn't act on them ever...extremly boring. he needs to get into another profession. keeps you after class has ended even if it's a 2 hr 40 min class. don't take
2 difficult essay tests with 2 q's each, a big group project, attendance taken, relies on the participation of the class to keep the lecture going. I will be celebrating if I get a C. (he doesnt use c- at least)
I dont know why this guys gets such a bad rap. He frequently will stop the class to see how people are doing, if they are confused, ask people individually. I think that is more caring than most profs. Learned more in this class than in the rest of my towson business classes.
Very clear about his expectations and always asked students for input on the class. He awards extra credit if you do more than he asks on assignments. 2 tests are essays but he gives you a study sheet weeks beforehand. I would take him again. Definately not as bad as I was led to believe. Just make sure you cite your sources in APA!
I took this guy awhile ago, he said I would not amount to anything and I had no integrity...too bad im an executive now. He is a horrible teacher and failed half his classes. The females and the people he liked who appealed, were able to pass and graduate. The people he didn't like, did not. He obviously plays favorites and thinks he has power.
At the begining of his class, you will feel he's very hard. I think he does that to challenge students. But at the end of the semester, he grades easier. I thought I would get a B- for the class but I got A-. Make sure you read the book well, the test is on it.
Initially you will be overwhelmed, but the course is not that bad. If you are a failure at life and plagarize, he will seek and destroy you. So as long as you aren't stupid or have the awareness of an amoeba, you can pass this class
I really enjoyed the class. His academic integrity obsession was a bit grating, but I think it's because he really cares about correctly citing sources, not because of some sort of power trip. The content is good, and he adds personal anecdotes to support the material. But be prepared to participate in class and for the essay exams.
You have to work hard for this grade. Attendance=Mandatory. He expects a lot of students. At time the class is very unclear. Not really him just the subject in general. hes alright inthe long run. 2 tests which are extremely tough. Only two essay questions. Do all your work, participate, and work hard on the project.
Gr8 guy. He likes to help you. So gives you a chance to redo a paper which scored to low. Mandatory for attendence in my opinion a bit extreme. Hoever really i really advice U to take him for this class. I am in midlle of the class so i'll let you know more at the end of this class.
What a great guy, excellent Prof. and very helpful. 2 exams and 5 short response papers and an arbitrage assign. that you can redo and its easy. he really cares about your grade and always asks for comments or concerns at the start of class. I hope I can take him again, he is what all teachers should be.
Alot of class was wasted with him lecturing us over and over again about plagerism and citing properly, you never get out early. Picky grader and his point scale makes every point count. He is a nice guy and means well. He wants you to learn. I didnt like his point scale or his essay exams, you could get a low grade even if you knew the material.
Nice guy and a good teacher. Class work is easy and he is willing to give you do-overs. Read the book and know definitions and you will be set for the tests. Definitely recommend taking him!
I had no idea what to expect with this course but I am glad I had him as a teacher. He is very helpful IF YOU ASK. Know vocabulary and be able to have examples and you should be fine. Assignment and paper are easy, tests you have to to study!
dont take very long and boring class. teachs from a whiteboard and you cant read his hand writting. if he asks a question and no one answers he moves on. both tests are essay style they arent too bad but get ready to write A LOT! attendence is taken every class but does help your grade. he trys to be funny but he is NOT!
Notes are basically directly from the book, but its still helpful to take them. I found it useful to just take the notes in the side margins of the book... he follows everything in order and its great for studying. He's a very nice guy and can be interesting at times.
Relatively easy professor. He's VERY concerned about plagiarism so make sure your know how to do proper citations when writing papers for his class. He only gives two tests and both are essay exams. He goes off into tangents when giving lectures and can get kind of boring.
DONT TAKE, basicly you turn in your paper and take your exam at the end.....the rest is up to him.
He's a nice guy, but his class is extremely boring. I felt that Management is common sense if you've worked in an office environment before. I felt that he grades okay, but expects a lot. A midterm, 2 one page papers, a 5 page paper and a final. Asks us to memorize 60 definitions per test but only puts about 15 on the test. Exams are written too.
grest teacher he expects a lot but i think some ppl forget that WE ARE IN COLLEGE!!! he gives you study guides b4 every test with a list of terms on it. As long as you know the terms you will get an A easy. go to class he is BIG on participation if you talk to him he will try to help you as much as possible
Sanford is a fairly nice guy. Exams are hard becasue he has you memorize about 50 different terms, but the class isn't too bad. He grades a lot on attendence, so show up to every class and you'll do fine. His handwriting on the board is sometimes hard to read, but he will clarify if you ask. The only real negative is that he is clearly a liberal.
Sanford is a nice guy with good intentions, but his obsessiveness over plagiarism handicaps the full potential of the course. He talks about it so much, and marks down on papers for such minor and silly "plagiarism infractions" (ie - missed quotes, a misplaced comma or period) and other seemingly meaningless errors. Don't take him, he's too picky.
He's very square. Can't think out of thew box. Claims to be ethical correct. What a shmuk. However if u work hard u'll be fine. looks like a nice pers. but i bet he's got no life.
Do NOT take his class he is boring and the only thing he cares about is citing in APA format. This was an online he should not be teaching an online class not ever again. I didn't learn very much and wish I had waited to take the class in the fall.
Sanford is rude. He'll call you out for something like being late or leaving to go to the bathroom. Attendance is super important to him, and even if you tell him way in advance that you will be out of town for an excusable reason, he'll tell you thats an unacceptable reason. All he cares about is plagiarism, so you better know how to cite somethin
Very nice man, great teacher, asks for feedback from students, always looking to help you. Has integrity and cares about plagiarism. This is a bit annoying when writing your papers but he is not crazy about it, he is fair and will work with you. I hope to take him for mngt700
DO NOT TAKE!!!!He Sucks!!!!!
If you want to ruin your life....You MUST take his class..He is ready to help you. unless DO NOT take his class never never never...
From off the bat, I failed this course. everything is out of 100 points so if you mess up it can count against you. I passed the course with a B but received a F overall for attendance issues. Go to Class, the course is easy, the professor is a **** and is never clear but just ignore him. ****.
People who complain about Sanford's class must not go to class. If you're paying attention in class and adding input to class discusions than you will be fine on the exams. I mean.. 20% of the class is attendence.. Great teacher but obviously a liberal..
Not that bad of a class, attendance is important and you learn from being there. One project which was BS and he grades harshly for such a waste of time project. Mid term and final which are not too bad and he grades decent on them. As is previously stated he is a liberal which can be annoying.
Worst professor i've had in a long time. His teaching is ok during class but when it comes to assignments and exams...his grading is horrible and he expect u to learn 90terms for the midterm and 134 for finals. DO NOT TAKE HIM its impossible to get a good grade with him.
very nice guy who doesnt tolerate bs from lazy students, He is caring and smart and you are guaranteed to get a B if you go to class, participate, read the books, and write lots of fluff on your definition and essay question only exams. Took him for two different classes and felt like it was a good experience.
AVOID AVOID AVOID. This guy sucks! His personality is so dull and uninteresting for a mngt professor. He will go on a tangent about random topics before covering class material and expects you to have perfect attendance. Are you kidding me? You will have to teach urself everything. avoid this guy!
Sanford is nice and means well, but good god he is boring. His teaching style is so un-professor like, obsesses about citing, likes introducing irrelevant stories. I can tell he doesn't plan his assignments. very odd guy. I would stay away.
Professor Sanford is fantastic! What a guy, very interesting indeed. Relates very well to his students and if you put in an effort you will be rewarded you can tell he cares, he even has two kids who attend Towson so you know he understands the college grind. Very fine professor indeed!
He's pretty awesome. He invites class discussion and made what could have been a terrible class an interactive one. My only complaint is he writes everything on the board rather than preparing a power point in advance.
I am sure he means well, and he might be a decent person but he is boring as all hell. He is not engaging, and his online class was not set up to interact with each other. It was 7 week class and I do not feel as though I have learned anything other how to deal with a bad manager.
Such a great professor and kind person! He is very helpful and cares about his students. 4He is the best. However, attendance is mandatory.
AVOID.
He is actually awful!!!! Do not take him if you want a good grade.
All this class will teach you is how to memorize definitions and recite them. Waste.
This guy is awful do not take at all costs. Graduating senior and I ended up failing the class because of attendance. Stickler for his rules and is not lenient on anything. This class will not help you whatsoever in your future the tests are memorizing 100 terms and being tested on 5 good luck
The other raters need to relax, this was such a chill class. All you have to do is show up, pump out 3 short papers (like 2 pages) on leadership, and some easy 3 question HWs! Yeah it's a lot of terms for the final, but it's short and to the point. He's so sweet and literally a dad, take him and you'll be fine.
He is lecture heavy in a good way. His lectures are not too boring because he's a pretty funny guy and has a ton of real life examples to back up what he is saying. He encourages class participation. His exams are written responses, he picks a few vocabulary words from the exam chapters and has you define them and give one real life example.
Teaching style is a bit dry, but the material itself is interesting if you put in the effort and participate; he does have a sense of humor. Gives a lot of vocab and only chooses a few to be on the exams, but they're easy definitions. Fairly easy grader, get 20% just for showing up to class. Really cares about his students and wants to help them.
His tests are easy which might be because it's his first semester teaching this class, but does a good job and isn't afraid to admit mistakes or when he gets distracted. Very understanding of student needs. Humors the class. Very honest and open. MUST come to class or have a reason; pretty relaxed when it comes to excuses like traffic. Chill guy
Overall a weird guy. His class has few assignments, a few papers and 2 exams. The midterm is you get around 100 terms and are tested on 6. And the final is you get 200 terms and are tested on 12. Too many terms but overall the class is manageable. He can be boring
Super sarcastic (which is a nice thing). Exams are bit tough because he wants you memorize all 200 terms (which is not easy), but lets you rewrite a paper if you mess up.
Professor Sandford is a good professor and he really knows his stuff but his classes are boring and can feel like they drags on. He is an understanding guy though and admits his mistakes. Grades are mostly dependent on essays which he grades pretty harshly on but gives good feedback on them.
Over-reliance on group work and almost no value to the entire class beyond the final. You can have an A until the final and get a C- if he does not like you. He is an awful person and I waited well over a decade to actually make a rating. Honestly the worst professor I ever had through PhD.. and that is saying a lot.
Douglas Sanford is anything but good, his lectures often left a sour taste in my mouth and his slowness on grading ruined an important day for many. with only 30 points in the class 2 days after graduation with 70 left to grade it made things impossible for grade security. Don't take if you want to have a good day knowing you actually graduated.
Don't take Dr. Sanford. Prime example of if you cant do it, teach it. Never graded anything and his grading criteria made no sense. Class is only out of 100 points and very few people in my class did well. Take an extra semester if he is your only choice for the class.
He grades really hard and most of his lectures are pointless. The rewrites option isnt as great as people say because you can only earn up to C otherwise its pointless. The group projects criteria was also graded harashly so pray he pairs with good group mates. If your writing skills are really strong take him or else youll fail.
This is the worse professor I have ever taken in my life. How does he still have a job? Please do not take him, my friends had a different professor and all had higher grades. His grading standard is useless. Zero understands how to connect with students and feels he's smarter than everyone and if they don't think like him, they are wrong. Dnt take
Tough grader. Lectures boring, slow. Takes attendance. Does not learn anything from his lectures. Exams based on learning a total of 100 worlds and being asked on 5 - 7. Group project are not that complicated just make sure you do the work correctly. But this professor is way too strict when grading papers but you can rewrite to get a C.
This is the worse professor I have ever taken in my life. He is a very tough grader and his lectures are very boring and pointless. He does give feedback on the assignments but you still don't know what does he need. I wish I didn't take it with him and I do not recommend him.
We were not told until 2 weeks before the final that it is cumulative with 104 vocab terms. These terms need to be memorized because you have to write the definition word for word, use it in a sentence, AND provide an accurate example. He is putting students approaching graduation and putting this in jeopardy over a final exam. VERY hard grader.
If you want to graduate and walk across that stage with a degree in your hands, do not take this professor. If you fail the final, you're done! Do not even put yourself through this madness. Good luck to all who take this course.
If you want to pass a class, do not take him whatsoever. He reads off powerpoints and makes you do group discussions every time in class. Every distraction is a point off. Final is cumulative with over 100 terms and makes you memorize all of it while there are only a few terms on the final. Basically, good luck trying to graduate taking him
The class is a TOTAL of 100 points. He's a strict grader and the class is heavily lecture based, you lose points for missing any classes unexcused and the final is out of 100+ terms that he randomizes to get like 6 terms for you to define as well as a question that has like 4 terms inside it. He's a nice guy but he runs his class like a boot camp.
Made the final have 143 possible terms for what? He was so difficult and would not work or compromise with students. Have never hated a professor more. Also, he is passive-aggressive as hell. Take anyone else if you can I had to take him because no one else was offered during that semester.
Professor Sanford is so complicated for no reason, his rubrics and directions make no sense. He makes things more complicated than they have to be. There are so many papers in this class, I didn't learn at all because I was always confused. Students would ask him questions, and he would say one thing and then say the opposite. Do not choose him!
I honestly wouldn't wish this instructor on my worst enemy, so I would highly advise anyone taking strategic management to avoid this tough instructor at all costs. He's very confusing and when we would ask him questions, he wouldn't answer them. If you want to graduate, do not register with him. Literally, every extra point counts in his class.
Professor Sanford is a very harsh grader, he expects a certain type of person and you really have to fit into that archetype to do well. DO NOT Take this teacher, it will make your school year much harder than it has to be.
Douglas Sanford, where do I even start with him. Not only is he very passive-aggressive, he also pushes z*onist ideology onto his students which no professor should ever discuss in the classroom. Overall, he doesn't give clear directions, says insensitive remarks, and masks it under the guise of humor.
