easiest math teacher!

this will be a touch class no matter who the teacher is, but Doug is MONEY, he does everything he can to help his students understand before you move to the next section. He will go out of his way to help you. He is very well at explaining things and an excellent teacher.

He is a wonderful teacher who spends the class time clearly expaining and making sure everyone understands his topic of the day. He speaks loudly so everyone can here him and he tries to get everyone involved in class!

By far the easiest and best math teacher I have ever had, not to mention Calc. 2 is much easier than Calc. 1. If you need to take Calc. 2. take Doug Squire's class b.c you will get plenty of extra credit, hw is not collected, and tests/quizes arent hard at all.

Doug is awesome. This class is tough.. but easier than calc one.. and doug really makes sure you understand everything. hw is not collected but he takes a lot of quiz/test questions from the hw so i advise doing it... because its worth it and doesn't make you feel stupid. if you think you've never had a good professor at wvu.. take doug.

Doug is one of the best math teacher I ever had. He explains in easiest way. However, you still need to solve problems yourself, doing homeworks to memorize all formulas and you are good for tests.

He is a great teacher! I highly recommend him, his classes got higher scores than most classes on the exams. The class is hard b.c of the exams but he doesnt make them so its not his fault. He's really nice and smart and will help you out alot.

Wonderful! Clear, helpful, and very understanding. Doug seemed to sincerely care about the students' comprehension of the material. He was also very effective in conveying the big picture of calculus. Tests were extremely fair as well. Highly recommended.

Straight up good guy. He knows you don't wanna be there any longer than you have to. He gets the point across and his methods are the best I've seen in the math field yet. Doug is a great guy and will help you with anything at anytime. I am taking doug again for calc and for once in my life I'm looking forward to a math class.

he is so easy, he lays everything out how it is, he is super helpful and really explains the material in an easy to learn way. ace the tests and you dont have to do homework.

If you can take this teacher, do it. He's excellent - he makes everything perfectly clear, the work load isn't bad at all, and he's really helpful if you're having trouble. He gives opportunities for bonus points, too, and he gives partial credit if you obviously understood the concept.

I miss this teacher now that I have a different Math teacher. Seriously, if you can get into his class - do it! He is an excellent teacher, and you will learn a lot! I wish he taught higher level classes.

Hands down best math teacher ive ever had. I've learned so much more from him than any other math teach i have ever taken. He made calculus seem like it was basic math no joke. Take him if you have the chance.

Doug is wonderful. He wasn't my teacher, but my lab section instructor. Having him for lab and the 2-hour review sessions he held are the reason I not only passed the class, but got an A. He teaches very clearly and is patient, working through problems until he's sure you've got it. Take him for this course.

Douglas is by the far the best Math teacher I have ever had. The teaching methods this person has is incredible, makes everything crystal clear and does not try to trick you on his exams (which are extremely fair by the way). The amount of time he offers outside his office hours is amazing, especially when exams are around the corner. TAKE HIM !!!!

His test 1 and 3 are harder than every other professor's tests, but his 2 and 4 are pretty easy. He does not try to trick you. He is extremely helpful, two days before the final he met with 3 of my friends and myself for 2 hours going over anything we asked in his free time! Final is pretty hard but could have been that I took a final before his

Doug not only did an excellent job teaching during our scheduled class times but would also host study sessions to clarify any details that were not making sense. An extremely fair teacher who in my opinion would make sure any student would pass provided they were willing to put in the effort.

Doug is the reason I passed every one of my math classes in college. I know of no better math teacher than Doug Squire. The nicest and most helpful and fair math teacher I have ever had at any level period.

hands down best math teacher i've ever had. he teaches you only the things you'll need to know and doesn't give busy work.. the homework doesn't have deadlines as long as you get all of it done before the test. If you have to take math at WVU, take Doug's class. excellent teacher.

Doug is by far the BEST math 126a teacher out there. He truly cares about the students learning an understanding o course material. He makes himself available for help outside of the classroom multiple times per week and tries to consider everyones schedule

Doug is amazing, he is so helpful, he always makes himself available anytime always holds out of class study sessions, will reopen hw and quizzes if you didn't finish them on time. Hes a really great person and really does care about his students.

Doug was a GREAT teacher. Always there to help you and meet whenever you ask. He's very courteous with grades and do whatever he can for you to do the best you can in his class and succeed in math overall. He genuinely cares, and i wouldn't take anyone else but him for 150!

He was very helpful and very clear when he was teaching. He does a ton of examples and makes sure everyone understands it before moving on. Tests weren't too hard. If you study and do all the homework and in class work it's an easy A.

Doug is by far the best teacher I have ever had in any subject. He truly cares about his students and will do anything he can to help them. Just go to class and do the hw assignments and you'll do fine. If you do need any help he is always there for you. He is the man. I would recommend taking anyone else for a math course besides him.

Best and favorite teacher I've ever had. I am so glad I had him. He'll go above and beyond to help any of his students. He keeps you interested in class and gives a lot of extra point opportunities and bonus at the end of the semester. Do the exam reviews he gives out and go to review sessions and you'll get 100% on every exam.

A great teacher for Calc 150. Makes sure he breaks down each of the problems so everyone understands. Gives out many bonus opportunities. And, overall, tries to make the class as easy as possible so everyone can get an A.

I have loathed math ever since 4th grade. I can honestly say Doug made me actually enjoy coming to class and interested in learning. Best teacher I have ever had in my entire life. First letter grade I have ever received higher than a C. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Squire is the best teacher you can have for a math course. I am currently taking Math 150 with him and he breaks down every problem and teaches very well. If you have the option definitely definitely take him. You have to go to class and take notes in order to learn the material.

TAKE DOUG. If you have the chance, make sure you get in Doug's lecture. He goes out of his way to make sure you understand the content and will do whatever it takes for you to succeed in this class. Best professor I've had yet.

Best math instructor i've ever had. Took the class over the summer, very fast pace. Dough had many review periods after class and before tests that are very very helpful. His final policy is very great too; get an A on the final, get an A in the class. The must-have teacher for calc 2.

One of my all-time favorite teachers. Doug is so sweet. He's a kind, helpful man. He really cares about if people are understanding what he's talking about. He wants everyone to do well. I feel like these are extremely rare traits to find from teachers, especially in math/science fields. Great communicator. He's awesome, so you should take him :)

Examples given in class are nowhere near as hard as the homework questions. So, you'll spend hours wasting away on Mylabsplus, trying to solve problems only somewhat similar to the ones presented in class.

he is coolest teacher in WVU! he really build your interested in math and always start from easy meterial. a lot bonus point, like what is 1+1 as quiz question in class. YOU SHOULD TAKE HIM!!

Really enjoyed this professor. Easily one of the top professors I have had here at WVU. Smart, Helpful, you name it. You can't go wrong with Squire. Doesn't mean be lazy though.

One of the best (probably THE best actually) professor I have had at WVU. Very helpful, both in and out of the classroom. Genuinely cares that students both learn and succeed in his class. Always held review session(s) for exams, including a total of 5 for the final exam. Would definitely recommend.

Great professor, probably the best math professor at WVU. Tough class though. Calc 2 is a tough class in general and Doug makes the material easy to understand. However the only thing is he doesn't believe in online homework or collecting it and he doesn't count attendance so if you don't do well on tests you won't pass the class

Doug was an awesome calc professor, he was really clear in his lectures and extremely helpful when it came to tricky topics. Some of the tests were tricky but as long as you go to lecture you won't have a problem with it. He gives a ton of "quizzes" basically show up and put your name on a piece of paper and hand it it, they're worth a lot tho.

Even 2 years after taking the course he still remembers my name and asks how I'm doing in courses in a genuine way even though I wasn't a teacher pet or anything like that. Really cares about learning and seems like he loves his job.

Doug was the best professor I have had my entire 4 years here. I failed out of math 155 and thought I was awful at math. Doug told me to give it a chance, never miss class and ask him personally if I didn't understand anything and I got a 99.8 overall in the class without actually needing help once. His lectures are amazing! fun! and educational!

Honestly the best teacher I have ever had in college. He makes lectures very interesting and really makes sure students understand the material. Must attend class in order to do well. There is homework on every chapter, and some can be very lengthy, but he gives you a whole week to do them.

Great professor! I have never been good at math and it's always been an area I have struggled in but Doug made it easy to follow along and really cares that all of his students are with the program. If you make a silly mistake on an exam and you go to him during office hours, more often than not, you will get points back. 13/10

I love Doug so much. He wants you to understand the material and he is always offering to have out of class study sessions before exams. In 155E, the tests are department tests so he has no idea what will be on them other than the sections they cover. He works really hard (successfully) to prepare you for the exams because they are so difficult.

Doug has no control over the test material given in 155E, but still does an amazing job at preparing kids. Hes always more than willing to hold sessions outside of class, especially before tests. I never thought Id enjoy going to my math lecture.

He was the best Calc 150 professor in my opinion. The class size was about 40 and he made sure everyone understood before he moved on to the next objection. Do the HW and you will be just fine in 150. At the end of the semester he offers up to 20 extra credit points.

Honestly Doug is one of the best professors I have ever had. I struggled badly in Calc 2 and when I retook it with Doug I visited his office weekly and talked often with him. If you care about learning and doing well he will make sure you're taken care of in class. I 100% recommend him! 2 years later and him and I still talk.

Best math professor Ive had at WVU! Clearly explained lecture content and asked if everyone understood. If anyone had questions he was always willing to help outside of class, and hold review sessions before exams!

If you miss any class you won't understand the material. he is a pretty good guy he teaches very well, but exam are kind of hard. he gave you a lot of handouts to do which is a really good way for practice before the exam. you can get easily full credit in the quizzes if you did not miss any class, he always do group quiz.

Doug is by far one of the best professors that I've had! He encourages us to talk to him as a peer, not as a superior, yet he gets a lot of respect from everyone. Before exams he has review sessions that are extremely helpful. He gives very few quizzes but a good bit of homework to make sure youre practicing the problems. However, its not always for a grade

Simply put, Doug is incredible. Ive never had a professor that cares so much for his students and really wants them to pass. He has no control over department exams so theyre pretty rough but he lectures so well and is so accessible outside of class to help. Calc 2 is hard and even though I didnt pass it isnt any fault of Doug. He is the best!

Doug was hands down the BEST professor Ive had my entire freshman year of college. I went from having a C in calculus 1, to a A in calculus 2, which is notorious for having high fail rates. On all of the exams (including the ones before the online portion) our class had a higher test average! Never miss lecture because they are all helpful

Professor Squire is the best teacher I've had in college. His lectures and homework go deep into the material so you know it inside and out for the exams. My section always had great exam averages because he prepared us so well. He is always willing to help out and ending the semester felt like saying goodbye to a great friend. Go to office hours!

By far the BEST math professor I have had at WVU. I have had most of the other professors but none have been as great as Doug. I suck at math but Doug really helped me understand the concepts. He really wants his students succeed and answers any and every question. Highly recommend going to his office hours, they are very helpful!

Doug does a great job explaining each unit. His review sessions before exams are incredibly helpful. In these sessions, you can ask questions on any type of problem and he gives detailed explanations and makes sure you understand. He has tons of classes but makes sure he has time for each of his students. I wish there were more teachers like Doug!!

He explained complicated math concepts in very simple ways, and taught shortcuts. Very accessible outside of class if you need extra help. Offered extra credit, and exams were short.

I would definitely recommend Doug to anyone taking Calc. I couldn't attend any classes because of a scheduling conflict and I still got a B. This is because Doug works through lots of examples and explains things very clearly. Not to mention he lets you call him Doug and is all around a cool guy. Would definitely take again!

best math teacher possible the class is very difficult but Doug helps you understand it and able to pass the class. warning the department final is very difficult and short on time but Doug helps with teaching the fast way to solve the problems

I failed Calc 2 the first time, but got an A with Doug.

AMAZING teacher, literally I got an F the first time I took it, partly due to my professor barely being understandable. Took Doug's class in the summer and he would literally join zooms with just me to go over stuff, ALL THE TIME. If the entire math department was just copies of Doug I would switch to a math major. My future son will be named Doug.
