He f****ing sucks! he cant solve his own problems!
I graduated 2004 Spring. Students DON'T take Troeger he cannot teach period. I think he pays city college to keep his job. This guy is the worst professor I EVER had. The Dean need to take action against dumb bell like this guy. Help need!!
THE WORST TEACHER ON THIS PLANET>>> PERIOD
How did this guy get a job teaching Computer Science? I'm sure he's good @ something, he should leave City College and seek it out. IM A NETWORK ENGINEER trying to get by degree so I won't get passed up again for management. This guy lectures students about how the "real world" and seems to have spent his entire career within the classroom
I actually agree w/ all the negative reviews below. I can work hard, but I expect to learn something useful for my hard work. I get the idea w/ this guy that I'm working hard at chasing my own tail. There's lots of effort by everyone but very little learning. I don't think he's a bad person but there is definetly something very wrong here.
I will just requst the Computer Science department to take this class for themselves and then regret themselves for still keeping only this professor to teach this course. only this F course cs 335 is delaying millions of bright students future in computer science.why ? we cannot avoid this course. it teaches us nothing except a low GPA and teaches

The class was hard, but with alittle bit of studying and talking to the prof. the class was understandable. He was always in his office during office hours to assist students. His exams were hard but they tested you on what you know....Overall hes not that bad as people say. He just won't give you an easy A and thats not a bad thing...

OK, this class is NOT a walk in the park and you have to take it if you're a CS major. As for the professor, you cannot avoid taking it with him. Do all the HW problems he asks for, and go see him during office hours if you need to, and you should do just fine. You must have a pssion for programming to pass with a decent grade.
This class is NOT an easy A, but I for one am all for actually LEARNING something! It's a challenging subject, but with some genuine effort, you'll benefit in the end. Attending office hours and interacting with the professor and classmates makes for an easier time. Doing (and understanding) the homeworks makes tests much easier!
I had Professor Troeger for a programming course and he is very tough, but if you do the homework and study hard you will get a lot out of the course. he is not going to spoon feed you, you must work hard. His style is hard to get used to, but well worth it in the end. I felt a great level of accomplishment after passing his class.need more like hi
What a nightmare! The worst class I have EVER taken. Not only is this class useless, but it is extremely difficult, and I mean EXTREMELY. Avoid if possible.
He is a sorry excuse of a person. He tries to paint this nice image of himself but he is not. The only guaranteed way to pass is to kiss his... I've seen poor programmers pass his class just by going to his office hours. Sorry I don't kiss... If he doesn't like you no matter how good you are he will find a way to fail you. Horrible professor.

This class is HARD, and I love programming. Mostly it's learning to think recursively. In anycase, I loved it. It wasn't easy, but I learned a lot. I disagree with what everyone is saying here. Troeger is actually one of the best CS teachers at CCNY.
He's a good professor. You all need to study hard for this class, OK! He's helpful, but you need to know what are you talking about because he's very proficient in the subject. It is interesting. You can get a good grade in this class. Just do as he says. Study what he assigns. He's always very organized and prepared, do extra work in the project.
Try to avoid but you might have no choice.He will make you do a lot unnecessary work.But he is helpful.
Best professor in the CS department. Extremely knowledgeable, clear and respectful. Doesnt grade HWs because he says it encourages students to copy solutions online. Instead, he expects you to honestly solve it and visit during office hours to address issues or questions. Topic is HARD. Lecture is not enough, must do HW and work hard for your grade
He does a good job in teaching. However, his grading system puts you in a position that you have to work very hard to pass. Don't drop his class even if you get a bad grade. It is not worth it. When you graduate, many jobs, won't ask you about your GPA but your understanding on the material. Move on and master functional programming yourself!
Honestly the course is not that tough but the professors exams are so tough and time constrained that you got be a pro to even get a B ,He provides notes on Piazza and they are so elegantly and clearly written which are going to help you a lot, You can only understand the lectures if you read the notes way ahead,Be prepared to work really haaarrrd
The course is easy to understand, but you really need to practice solving the problems because it's all about having the knowledge necessary and creativity since there is always more than one solution. His lectures explain the quiz/homework solutions in detail but you really have to pay attention. The quizzes/test are HARD AS HELL. Majority drop.
He is a really hard Professor. He doesn't really care about the students. His lectures are really confusing. You don't have to go to any lectures he hardly even teaches the information , you could basically learn it by watching videos . His quizzes are so hard , you only pass if your program is similiar to his. You can't do it your own way.
He's knowledgeable and a good professor but I think you'd be better off with a different professor that teaches csc.
Students just want to pass, Majority of them are willing to accept a D in the course. He Expects you to type programs that take a few hours if done at home. In a regular class session, sure he gives you hw assignments related to the exam but he even says they are insane to figure out. You can get a high grade, if you commit like 40hrs a week
Incredibly difficult. The "lectures" are just him talking philosophically about programming. Nothing is hands on at all and EVERTHING you have to learn by yourself. This might be city college's fault though too. Just take an epermit at Laguardia. Much better option if you only need this one class as a preReq (I'm civil engineering)
Tough professor and difficult course, but I can't say he's horrible like the rest of the guys over here. You gotta do the homework problems, and meet him for his office hours. Gives detailed and lengthy homework, but in general wants to help students. You'll need to put in a lot of time for this course (he expects around 6+ hours a week of study).
The quizzes are by far the hardest I have ever seen. I would study 10 plus hours a week and still fail the quizzes. Several times I have come across quizzes that were irrelevant to the lecture and homework. This class was nearly impossible to pass, even with hours of studying, tutoring and reading the text. Stay away if you care about your gpa!
When someone asks me who was my favorite comp/sci prof at ccny, I always say Troeger. I worked hard as hell, had a difficult time truly understanding new concepts, but kept at it. One day, a switch turned on. Advice: read in advance. Go to lectures. Do the problems - in that order. In his lectures he drops hints about the projects/hw's.

I feel bad for whoever have him. The wrost professor you will ever have. He will take of alot of points of if you make the most tinitest mistakes in your exams. Hes good at failing students. He takes off point for no reason. His class is a mess and confusing, he doesnt finish his work.

Terrible, disorganized, takes points off for every single mistake. Doesn't curve at all, say's he doesn't curve because "you wouldn't want your doctor to have gotten the job by getting a curve", but that makes no sense when you're teaching a 1000 level course with the difficulty of a 3000 level course.
Difficult professor but lectures were better than others. Wished he wouldnt have been so strict since this was a 1000 level course.
This class will make or break your career as an engineer. Had to work hard for my grade as engineering classes only get harder.
If you want to pass this class, make sure you do all the homework and visit his office hour where you will be solving homework problems on the board. Most students don't do the homework which is a biggest mistake. Try to get hold of past exams to prepare for his midterms and finals as the questions will be very similar. He grades very harshly.
Hard professor but learned a lot. Pay attention to lectures since theres no feedback for writing proofs on your own. Avoid if GPA is more important than content.
He gives homework for basic concepts and arent too much related to whatever topic your are learning at the moement. I have taken this same exact class at an actual university and it was way easier to follow than this guy. He expects you to know things that he thinks were taught in elementary.
He's not a bad professor by any means however, his quizzes/exams are just absolutely brutal. He is quite lenient with grading, such as giving a point for trying. The homework assigned weekly, hardly if ever has any correlation to the quizzes/exams. It would be in your best interest to study the notes he writes. Don't take him if you value your GPA.
You will need to spend more time on this class than any of your other classes otherwise you'll fail. His exams are graded harshly and gives you a textbook with no solution which he then tells you to go to his office after class for maybe an answer. Homework not mandatory but they don't really reflect on whats going to be on the quizzes. Have fun!
You need to spend a lot of time. 2 midtern and one final. Quiz and around 30 questions as HW every week. But finally, you will learn a lot. He curves a lot. If you study well, you will get A
Some people understood what he was teaching but I was completly lost. I studied 8+ hours a week, went to all classes but got a d or f on every quiz. Since 2 professors taught the class, when we told troegger how the other guy told us to do proofs he said it was 'wrong'. Troeger's exams are extremely hard and one must put in an immense amount of effort and time to ace them. Look at the assigned homework problems early and take your time to understand them. The key to passing the class is to review lecture notes and slam your head on the homework problems until you can understand/solve them. Do the project well.
This professor will definitely ruin your GPA. The exams are extremely difficult and very different from the homework. The only saving grace is the project at the end of the semester. Majority of the class gets D or C.

Theres nothing to say about this guy. You will know once you take him. City college should get atleast one more professor to teach this course or take it out of the curriculum. Theres no luck taking it with this guy. I promise
You will learn a lot in Prof. Troeger's class. That being said you will have to work very very very hard, to the point where other classes might be affected. Yes, he is tough. But curve crazy at the end. only a 20 to get a D. TWENTY. TWO-ZERO. Also replace grades if you did bad on the midterms. Just keep doing the problems that he or the TA goes over until you understand
In hindsight after taking Prof Troeger's class, the techniques learned in his class are very useful and can be implemented when doing coding interview questions on Leetcode. Do not recommend for anybody taking 2 other hard classes
It will feel like you need to dedicate your entire semester to this class. HW is on you to do, and there was a quiz every week. The exams were basically the quizzes combined. If you're a top model student who takes classes to challenge yourself, you can go for it. Otherwise, if you want an easy A, take Prof Lucci if you can. You have been warned.
Prof. Troeger is one of the best professors I had so far, he will reward dedication and commitment and he was always available and willing to help. If you actually want to learn and not just get a passing grade this is the professor for you, would recommend 10/10
Yes, Troeger is a difficult Professor, but that does not mean he's terrible. He's one of the few gems in the CS department who is genuinely passionate about the material. He curves well, even if he tries to scare you that you're in a D range. Troeger will teach you a different way of thinking and it will resonate in your mindset. He's great!
I think people can be so bitter because they arent willing to put in the work and before its too late, they are doomed. Prof Troeger loves what he does and genuinely cares about our success. Every topic he covers in lecture is followed by his asking if we understand it all or not.. this course was so hard but he is excellent!

Professor Troeger is your only option for this class, so you don't really have a choice but to take him. The class is very difficult, but if you read the lectures beforehand, do the homework, and attend his office hours with questions, then you should do well. Don't let the work snowball because it will be hard to catch up.

Professor encourages group study a lot which is very helpful. If you want to learn, take him. You won't regret at all. But if you don't want to put effort and be a programmer or a developer, I have no recommendation for you. He is very helpful and gives lots of extra credits. Professor is a nice person, but the course is not. Even harder than a level 300 course, you will not understand what he is saying in the class. If you guys don't believe me, go ahead and try him and you will know what i meant. Hwk are hard, no answers are given. Quizzes do not relate to hwk at all.
This class is the toughest class in CCNY thanks to this professor. The topics are interesting and are crucial to your career but his teaching style is the worst. Can't even pull out my laptop to test his code. He also needs a microphone. Most students will be happy with a D. Failed M1 and M2? Work your ass off on the project and you will pass.
He doesn't take hints from the overall poor performance of his students at midterms. He can't keep students engaged, doesn't give answers for hw . The whole class was just difficult and vague. Avoid.
This gentleman clearly shouldnt teach a freshman course. Spend 30mins talk about nonsense at the beginning and then extend the class EVERYDAY. Gives different test and quiz for different section. If ur section is the last one take it u r doomed. Because u will have the hardest. Midterm the first section which took it got 17 point higher than last
Also he doesnt give homework solution, so you need to go to his office hour and tutoring. About tutoring, they dont give you answer, you gonna figure out by yourself. About office hour, there are like 30 students for a 40mins OH. He expects u to spend 4-6 hours for each hour u spend in class. Which is impossible since I have other courses

Honestly one of the worst, (if not THE WORST) professor at CCNY. I don't understand how he's still part of the CS department, every negative review here is 110% accurate. His class is impossible to understand, and there's no escaping him for a second time because he teaches another required CS class for CS majors. He makes me want to transfer out.
Thinks his class is the best but I would rather take a class on how pillows are made since thats what I wish I could bring to his class. Also, his TA Maryam is really really bad and boring
This class made me want to change my major and transfer out. He made me lose my motivation to pursue this field. I love learning and I'm willing to take a challenge, but telling your students that they won't make it in this field if they do bad in this course isn't helping. I went to tutoring everyday, but I haven't improved. Didn't learn anything.
It's the day before his final. He's allowing us a cheat sheet but I know for a fact it won't help. I've done so poorly on his midterms and quizzes that even doing well on the final won't help me, but that's not the case because I'm also failing the final :)

You're honestly trapped as a CSC or CE major. He's the only professor that teaches this class during the Fall and Spring so your best luck is delaying your graduation and going for the summer class with the better professor (summer class is only 30 capacity). He should curve overall grade more: high F -> D+, D -> C+, C -> B+, B -> A, A- -> A+
2nd class in the CS/CE curriculum and Troeger will undoubtedly hurt your GPA. This class wouldn't be as bad if we knew our GPA wouldn't be tarnished b/c this class is harder than it should be and employers/internships don't know that. Adjust grade with difficulty. Better curve to overal grade: high F->C, (D-)->C+, D->B-, (D+)-> B, (C-)-> B+, C-> A-
he is nice man but course very dificult there is many xtra credits and doing ok enough on quiz and hw may safe grade. exams is hard even go tutor and officing hour but some credits get from this. grading not same. sometime good partial credit sometime none. many hours lose sleep for this course. avoid when possible.
well. He prob tries to scare us with the D average grade, but he curves quite a bit. Only one guy failed over 100 students. 20got A 20 got B. Meanwhile he still should change his teaching style. This is a freshmen entrance level course.
This course was so difficult due to the professor's style of teaching. Don't let the first two weeks fool you once proofs start getting involved it becomes very difficult to keep up. Also, no feedback on hw, it was not collected. You get called to the board to the board in recitation. IMO this is a major issue you do not know if your proof is right
really has potential to be good, but his teaching style is purposefully the most difficult he can make it. needs to give solutions for proofs, he thinks its "babying" but the tests averages (usually around 20/100) show that explaining to students is necessary. Anyways literally get 1 question right on each exam and you'll pass. goodluck.
He was super difficult but the curve kept up with it to give better grades. Sometimes it felt like the course was being taught in another language. Failed my exams so quizzes and HW seemed to have hit home for me. As and Bs were given like never before (43/95 got As and Bs). I will never forget this class. Seems to be making a great change..
Extremely tough professor with terrible teaching style. Average test grades for the class will be around 25/100. There is really no getting around this. Your best bet is to do the HW to get extra points during recitation. Quizzes are significantly easier than the tests. Get around 2/3 questions right on the tests and you may slide by with a B.
definitely a lot of work. but the stuff he teaches is essential so even though hes hard, its worth it since you leave his class genuinely understanding the concepts. very proof and concept heavy. seems like a tough grader but curves a lot and also curves at the end of the semester. homework and lecture examples are crucial for exams

This guy is horrible. For 335 at CCNY he is unavoidable. The material is difficult and he expects an insane amount of effort to pass difficult exams. Only chance of passing is if you literally solve every problem thoroughly and suck up by going to his office hours. watch 'Andy Balaam Scheme' on YT and get ready for rdy for stupid q's on exams
I honestly thought this Professor would be good, in fact, I'm still in this class CS104 Discrete Math Structure 1 until December 20th, 2019, but actually he isn't good at all, he is nothing but a big mess in Discrete Math Structure, proofs don't make sense, he is very strict and arrogant professor, lectures are boring, and he is one of the worst!

Too much studying, too little reward. He just gave us a ridiculous final. Had a two sided formula sheet with all the theorems he gave us this semester. I wasnt able to solve a single one. Its impossible to prepare for something like that.
He is an absolute nightmare. I still cannot grasp the fact that CCNY made him an intro professor. He sucks and deserves to be fired. Its statistically proven that if more than half the class is failing/doing poorly, then the problem is the professor. This professor was the problem and his grading is horrible. He can prove his way to getting fired
This class requires an EXCEPTIONAL amount of time and effort to get a good grade. He curves (A80, B 60), but his exam questions make acquiring those grades a herculean task, especially for the final. However, in terms of character, he is a decent professor who is willing to answer your questions during office hours. Anyway, Avoid if possible.

No matter what's going on in class, he just keeps talking what he planned, even half of the students in class can't follow. He's an intelligent guy, but not a teacher
Although the class is coding, he makes you go the extra step to think and write your thinking about your coding which at this level, many students were not taught that way. His exams are very very difficult. He is giving oral exams while the class is online (1-1 15 min exam basically).
By the end of the semester, I found myself begging for points to pass the class. 20/100 Passing. Oral exams are a nightmare, Written exams are tough as hell. Class project was also difficult as hell. Save yourself by practicing scheme r5rs and proofs before you take the class otherwise you will have it hard. scheme is wierd
A 5/5 difficulty on RMP doesn't even describe how difficult this class is. I found myself investing more time into this class than my other 4 classes COMBINED. Be sure to attend lectures, office hours, and tutoring sessions if you want the 5 points for attendance. He does oral exams. Make sure your other classes are brainless before taking Troeger.
I find his lectures bland where I just fall asleep and work on the lecture/hw afterwards. He makes the class 1000x harder than it has to be. The "exam" is 1 question. If you don't do it his specific way, you are done. He's a really nice guy but a brutal grader. Take this class with really easy classes, the effort for this class is ludicrous.
You can't avoid this class so my best advice is to write anything that comes to your mind in the exams. He can see that you are trying (at least). And as someone else said, go to his lectures, office hours, and tutoring sessions. Also pray to the gods, even if you don't believe in it.

He is the most difficult professor in the CS department. That being said, he cares about his students actually learning. Take this course with light classes so you have time to put in work for this class. Exams are difficult but not impossible. Even if you dont get to writing code, a decent design can get you a C.
I think the class is necessary to get an understanding of recursion, it isn't taught in depth in other classes, and this has made some leetcode easier to understand/ approach list dfs tbh. You wont like the grade you get though, it might even seem/be unreasonable but we got lucky with cr/no cr. Read his lecture notes before exams!
The class is twice a week, but be prepared to attend an additional session of office hours if you want to pass. The stress this class brings is tremendous. Create a circle of friends so you can study together support each-other. An enormous amount of work, so take with light classes. He fails people even if they try and majority of people get a D.
The work this class requires 3.5-4 classes. Don't take this class and Computer Organization in the same semester. Burnout is very real from this. If you want to pass with a D, be prepared to give it your very all. Please take with light classes. Create a study group. Troeger's heart is in the right place, but this class is incredibly difficult.
He intentionally designs the exams so very few pass, I'm not sure how this is even legal. If you give your best and study hard, very likely that you will still get an F. His exams do not distinguish those who study from those who did not at all. If you take it, please do not give up and keep pushing til end. I'll pray for you.
Troeger is excellent at teaching and gives good notes, but his exams are BRUTAL. Only 8 people passed exam 1. To survive 335 I suggest taking easy classes with good professors along side it. This class is extremely time consuming and he is a harsh grader. Definitely go to tutoring and office hours. Learn R5RS and brush up on 104 proofs. Good luck
Take the hint when the class avg (including all sections) is 20%. Don't blame it on the students.
Horrible teacher with poor time management and outdated teaching style. The entire testing structure invented by himself is extremely problematic. If youre taking him and are having a tough time despite trying your best, dont be discouraged.

I've never written a review on here but I had to come on here and say that this guy is easily the most demanding and delusional prof I've ever had. He expects us to devote an unreasonable amount of time to 335 as if we don't have other responsibilities. He will always find a way to make it your fault and not his. Worst of all: he's unavoidable. GL.
I don't think his teaching methods are good or his level of exams are fair. However the only reason I didn't rate him a 1 is because he really does care about the students passing. He continuously held these night office hours everyday where he would give really good feedback on our homework, or just go over lessons we didn't understand.
You only get points if you do things the exact way he wants it. The material isn't difficult, however, his lecture and approach are so pedantic and convoluted that it's difficult to discern how you're supposed to answer anything. He's incredibly condescending and isn't helpful in office hour. He doesn't answer questions directly- is unapproachable.
Go over his handwritten notes that he uploads on Microsoft Teams (after the respective class) and do the HW problems. If you do both, that is enough. I found taking notes of his notes (both class and uploaded notes) to help a lot. Proofs matter more than code. Note down what he's looking for in the proofs, and include those things every time.
This class is so painful... be ready to meet 4 times a week rather than the scheduled 2.
If you are gonna take this class, take the am class not pm. He's being very tough for the pm class the whole semester. For the am exam, all questions are from hw and his notes, he also tells them what to remember for the final exam. But pm class got like a whole set of difficult new questions. What a joke.
His quizzes and exams are tough and it's very easy to fall behind in this class. He struggles to finish lectures on time and has you attend office hours to wrap up what he couldn't do in class. He does care about his students and provides notes for all his lectures, but good luck finding additional resources if you struggle to understand his notes.
It's difficult to stay ahead in a class like this because it's impossible to find outside resources. Professor assigns homework that is not collected, but it's highly recommended to do it if you want to understand the concepts. Although the material is complicated, he notices students who put in effort and genuinely wants us to succeed.
He goes to lectures and make office hours way to time consuming and confuse the students instead of teaching the basics. He does not make it understandable to students especially those who do not have functional programming knowledge or Dr. Racket. Everyone failed yet he still have not come to the conclusion his teaching method is over outdated!!!!
This class is extremely hard!!! I recommend studying/practicing everyday and attend office hours! Also find a study group in your class.
i really dont recommend taking this class but you cannot avoid this man at all since this is a required course. This class has literally destroyed all my spirit not because of the difficulty but because of the amount of time you will have to spend on studying. If you can, please E-permit this class if you can, i wish i did.
This class had me stressing so much, i cannot even look at the professor anymore, it causes ptsd of the all nighters that i had to do to barely get a D. Troeger might seem like one of the nicest guys on earth, but the content that he is teaching and the difficulty of the quizzes and exams make him seem like he want students to fail.
He would rather fail people but he fail to understand that everyone is doing poorly due to his teaching style and improper testing format.
I will throw party the day he leave city college because of retirement.
Even though he let spring 2024 off easier than other semesters, for future 335 students: focus more on the 2nd half of semester rather than the 1st half. First two quizzes are very easy to score points on, midterm is doable, but project & final are the hardest. This course is still TERRIBLE. However if you have no critical thinking skills, gg!
Useless course with no outside resources. Professor tries hard to come off as a nice guy but really isnt. Will respond rudely if he doesn't like your question. Clearly takes pride in making the class unnecessarily difficult and enjoys when you struggle. Grades very harshly. Only way to do well is to kiss up a lot by going to office hours.
I am so happy for future students like 20 years from now this guy wont exist and the future students wont have to go through this useless class
what an absolutely useless class, If you're not great at coding this class isn't for you. It is a required course too so no avoiding it. I wish i was in CCNY after her retires, i just cant do this anymore.

Trouger must change his teaching style because no one is able to master and hone his problem solving skills and his incomprehensible exam. He still have not realized that the students are suffering mentally because of him and his course should be taught that allow students to digest information slowly and not move from one hard topic to another!

Got a combined 8 points from 2 quizzes and midterm, but the final project boosted my grade to a B. It is never troever.
He made 70% of the grade worth right after thanksgiving break and he bombarded us with a quiz, finals, oral defense, and project. I hope they replace him or he leaves.
If you don't show up to class, if you don't do the homework, if you don't pay attention, you will be completely lost and you will fail. The teaching structure is loose, and although the questions he gives on quizzes and exams are "fair" in the sense they cover things you should know if you've done the work, the road to get there is agonizing.
He's a good person, strict professor. For quiz1, practice solving Little Schemer. For quiz2, practice solving EOPL problems. For project, do not chat GPT because in oral defense, he will ask a variety of questions to see if you did your own work. Final had two problems, and one problem he had solved before in class. Just practice
You're better off epermit ting CSC 335 at Queens College than this man giving you PTSD and nightmares. The CS professors are more better than CCNY. CCNY needs to get their act together of educating students.

HUGE ROAD BUMP for CS Majors. honestly if you plan on taking him, do not take him during senior year. take him between your second year or third year so you have time to make up if you fail. Like 70% of the class fails. IDK why CCNY keeps this man employed.

Project was way too difficult. He either hates or likes your group. I spent so many nights worrying about passing this course, tried very hard only to get a D. Make sure you DO NOT have any syntax errors AT ALL. He absolutely hates it and will fail you on a quiz/exam for it. It's better to write less, with precise code. He is terrible.

I've been unhappy with this man, and I feel that my concerns about tuition value and academic support haven't been taken seriously. Given my goals in computer science, I'm considering whether Queens or Hunter might offer better guidance or a more supportive environment.
The course content is rough, but he does explain things very thoroughly in class and in office hours, which you should attend if you want to do well. His exams are taken mostly directly from hw's. In class, he was strict, but always made sure students were engaged, so you can't zone out. If you love theory this is a great class for you.

Most time-consuming class, try solving ALL HW problems and pay attention in lecture, you will definitely pass. He holds extra office hours. Don't get scared. Some exam questions were from HW, textbook, or his suggested practices. He looks rude in the beginning, but at the end of the semester he's actually nice. Review your discrete math!!!

Troeger is not a good professor; he makes this class way harder than it needs to be and grades with 0 mercy. Taking this class honestly will ruin your mental health (any of the reviews that are good are lying). That being said if you want to pass, make sure to attend the last class before an upcoming exam, he will give you a hint listen carefully.
