Great teacher. If you ever have a question he will break down the problem so it is easy and understandable. Very friendly and even funny at times. I would recommend him to any student who has been away from school for a while.

Mr. Wendel is a very nice teacher. He will always break it down for you if you don't understand something in class. Gives plenty of time to do the homework. He has given handouts every class which is SO helpful! ALWAYS does a review before tests. SO helpful! I wish I had taken him for college algebra. I would take him again!

Wendel was a very good teacher. He prints his own notes and goes through them with you. You know the dates of the tests weeks in advance. The final was 100 questions from the tests with different numbers. The book wasn't really used much, but make sure you have a calculator!

Extremely helpful in explaining problems to students with any questions they may have. Tests are mainly multiple choice and have some questions where you just show your work. Study the notes he gives out in class and study old tests and you will do great in the class! He gives equations on tests which is really helpful too!

This is the teacher who will actually help you learn math. It's clear he wants his students to walk away with a clear understanding of the subject.

Grades based on homework, quiz's and 4 tests. very helpful most of the quiz's are take home or on math lab. You don't need the book however need math lab. Study guides are similar to tests. Gives you all the worksheets for the notes doesn't take attendance however i had no problem showing up he made math fun and gives real life examples!

Pretty straight forward class. He is really great with working with you if something comes up and provides downloads of notes and practice tests for you to print out and use if taking the online course

Math is typically a tough subject to learn but Mr. Wendel did an outstanding job teaching it and making it a more enjoyable subject to learn. Every class he did an excellent job on throughly explaining the material and will also greatfully answer a question if you have one. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking math. Mr. Wendel is a great teacher. I took the combined Prep math class and he makes you work for your grade. He is very laid back and will always help you with any question or concern you have. You only need the My Math Lab online. He is very nice and helps. Their is 3 tests and if you get below an 80 you have to do homework and quizzes. Take him!

Would recommend if taking college algebra online. Hw and quizzes are taken on mathlab. All tests are proctored but he gives very helpful study guides and let's you correct 2 missed questions on tests which can possibly bring your test grade up 7-9%. Responds quickly to emails. I've always been horrible at algebra but have a B in this class.

I took him 2 semesters in a row mostly because he's really hot but he's also a good teacher! I'm bad at math and got a B both semesters! Lots of homework but it's good practice.

Very prompt to respond to questions - I couldn't take a test one Saturday due to computer issues at the school - when I asked for an extension so I wouldn't have to miss work, he extended the due date by a week so I didn't have to AND it was on a Saturday evening when he extended the date so I could reschedule the test and not worry all weekend.

Fast paced 6 week summer course. Difficult to keep up for an A student and someone who is good in math. Always available for advising. Quick response in emails. Good person. Would recommend.

Prof. Wendel is an excellent (if not one of the best) Prof. on campus. While he gives homework/quizzes, he makes available at the end of the semester and only expects students to complete 80% of it. His lectures are taught well, with clarity and is always happy to go into detail on a problem. Is prompt to answering emails and wants you to succeed.

Mr. Wendel is such a great teacher. During class, you go through and work out problems on your notes. The tests are pretty easy as long as you study. He will sometimes have an extra credit question on the test also. Homework is online and can be done anytime as long as it is finished before the test for that chapter. He is very understanding.

I loved Mr. Wendell so much. I honestly wish I took him for statistics. He is great to take during a summer term. The tests are easy, and it's easy to get an A as long as you do the homework on my math lab.

Wendel is an amazing professor! Does great at explaining the material, is always willing to help explain any problems and seems like he's there for the students. I highly suggest taking him if you struggle with math.

Amazing teacher. He really makes math understandable, but remember, you have to put in the time and effort at home to learn. He is there for you if you need extra help. Study the handouts and study guides, and you will ace the tests. I loved his class so much, I am taking him again next semester. You will not regret choosing him!

Math isn't my easy subject, but with Mr. Wendel's exceptional help I passed with flying colors, and I actually enjoy math now. He's very kind, truly cares about his students, and is willing to help. I took Intermediate Algebra, currently taking college algebra, and look forward to taking statistics with him.

Took my first online class; it being math. He helped me with every single question I had and was very patient. Lets you turn in late work for a 5% deduction. Always checks his Email and responds. An amazing teacher and really helps you through it all.

Stuff I 'learned' in high school was brought up and I dreaded it immediately. But Mr. Wendel explained it in a way that was easy for me to understand. He's a great teacher and takes the time to offer up alternative ways for you to make up a grade/assignment. The notes in class are easy to follow. All you need is the MathLab code, no textbook.

Mr. Wendal is an extremely nice man. Everything he does is nice to the students in some way. Don't second guess him you'll just end up looking dumb.

Mr. Wendel is such a wonderful teacher. I am normally horrible at math but he taught statistics so well and always offers help when needed. There is alot of online homework, but if you get over an 80% on it he will bump it up to 100%. Also- his personality is just the cutest!!

His methods of teaching may be quick, but if you pay attention Mr. Douglas is actually a great teacher. I would recommend him.

Mr. Wendle is by far the best teacher I have ever had at EFSC. He cares about you and really wants you to pass. I have never been good at math but he really helped me and I got a B! I reccomend him to EVERYONE taking any math course he is also such a laid back cool guy!!!

I thought I was going to hate statistics but he has made it my favorite class I'm taking this semester. Highly recommend him for all math classes. As long as you study the review, you'll do well.

I took Mr. Wendel for College Algebra and it was super easy. He gives many, many examples, a step by step breakdown of each, and multiple ways to complete each problem. If I could, I'd have him teach all of my required math courses. I passed with a "C+" because I didn't do any of the homework, but I received A's and B's on tests regardless.

Great teacher. Uses interesting examples to try and help students understand problems. Drops 2 lowest homework, 2 lowest quizzes, and lowest exam grade. Mr. Wendel is a nice guy who wants his students to succeed. He is approachable and available outside of class.

I took Professor Wendel for Statistics. He was very thorough and made the subject easy to understand. I highly recommend him. Expect online weekly homework, online quizzes and 5 tests in class. The book was not needed, only had to purchase the online access for homework. He goes over everything in class and gives handouts.

Mr. Wendel is awesome! He really cares about his students. About a quarter into college algebra I approached him, hopeless that I would pass the class. He encouraged me to keep pushing, and I passed the class with a B. He is funny, with his little anecdotes "Good good". I would definitely recommend him to anyone who struggles with math.

I took his remedial math class a couple years ago -- if you struggle with math, THIS PROF IS FOR YOU. The math is still hard and it can be a struggle, but he's very patient, and doesn't make you feel stupid for not understanding. (Also, sign up for his classes early in the semester -- they fill up fast!)

Keeping up with mymathlab is important. Gives you a chance to get points back on your exam if you correct your mistakes. Replaces a low test with final exam. Answers e-mail promptly. Other teachers are harder and don't give extra points. Recommended!

I took this online class as an elective before college algebra! The entire class is on MyMathLab, however he has discussions for extra credit on tests. He reply's rather quickly with any problem, and there are quite a few proctored tests. The class is on your own pace, however make sure you meet the due dates!

He is super nice and always listens. He isn't super tough but he won't give you the answers. He will help you figure out any problem though.

Took my first college math class online. Mr. Wendel responded to my emails in almost a few minutes! He also gave me a ton of extra credit and he takes your lowest score and replaces it with your final. Which in my case, was very helpful! Would take him again!

The class I took was self-paced. Mr. Wendel was there when I needed help and provided solid structure to the classroom. If your a veteran, or someone returning to Math after a long absence, take Mr. Wendel's class.

Professor Wendel is a great teacher for online math. I work full time and took 3 classes during the summer, it was really tough, but he was amazing at giving me numerous extensions to help me cope. I ended up getting an A in the class, and math is NOT my strong suite. He answers emails quickly. A must take professor!!

I am taking his College Algebra class online. Its an easy A/B, assignments due each week. 4 Proctored exams. Theres about 50 assignments total but easy to perfect every single one. He replys to students emails asap and he cares. Has Discussion Boards to correct missed test problems and sometimes adds them to the test score after.

I recommend Mr. Wendel to anyone struggling with math. This is my 4th attempt (I know horrible) with a current grade of "B." He explains math in a way most can understand by using everyday situations. I recommend his wife as well. They have the same teaching styles which makes it easier should classes be full for one. MR. WENDEL IS AWESOME!!!

I have already failed this class one time before and am horrible at math. I took wendel online and i did so much better. The extra credit he gives really helps a lot. I signed up for more math classes with him.

The best professor I've known. Super helpful and responds fast. Goes above and beyond for struggling students (like me). I'm taking more classes with him in the future. He really cares and gives excellent advice. Highly recommended. I wish more professors were like him. He is an awesome person.

I took him for intermediate Algebra. We use My Math Lab and it was very clear and easy to follow. Mr. Wendel was always available outside of class when I e-mailed him and was very thorough. I had a family emergency and he was easy to work with. The class does require you to keep up with work or you can get behind quickly. I enjoyed him as a teacher

This is the second class I've taken with him and he is just awesome! I have always been bad at math but somehow I got a B!!! His online class is great, very clear what needs to be done every week. There are four proctored tests which is my only complaint because each one was $25.

He's a great professor; very nice guy (even when the Chiefs aren't doing well), he makes math easy to understand and is available to help you if you don't. I would highly recommend taking his class, and I would take him again in the future.

Alrighty so Im not very good at math and there were around 3 pretty tough proctored tests which brought my grade down. A LOT of homework every week but its easy and you get unlimited tries. Hes such a caring professor and will email you if youre getting behind and will always email you back. He wants you to succeed. Please take him. No regrets.

Absolutely loved Mr. Wendel! He was so helpful throughout the course and made learning easy. There is homework for every lesson, but it is all online and included help if you don't understand. Tests and quizzes are easy if you pay attention to his lesson. Attendance is not counted, but try not to miss class because every lesson is important. :)

I do like this professor. He responds promptly. My huge problem with his class is that there are too may proctored exams! Its an online class and i was forced to go in for these 4 exams. 55 percent of your grade is 4 exams (3 proctored 1 take home) and 20 percent is the final that is proctored! he could have just made the final proctored IMO

This is the first time I've rated a professor and it's only because he DESERVES IT! I would 110% recommend. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Discussion boards to "fix" missed questions on tests for full credit. The ONLY downside was that all chapter tests are proctored. Just a little inconvenient. Still a 10/10!

Great professor, especially if you struggle with math; he explains things simply. I don't struggle with math myself; it was all review. He uses MyMathLab for hw. My only critique: I sat in the front and the clock to tell time/pace yourself during tests was on the left side of the room; put the time the on projector/in front please :(

I took College Algebra with Professor Wendel online. He was responded quickly to emails and was always understanding. All work was done through MyMathLab, which was annoying when it shut down at times. He didn't really do any actual teaching, more just told us what we needed to do in MyMathLab, but he would be available if you needed help.

If I would take all of my math classes with him I would. He makes class fun with random fun facts and always finds a way to relate it to math. His tests are easy since he provides a study guide that looks exactly like the test. There is about 4 hw assignments every week on MyMathLab (not a specific due date for hw- just the last day of class).EC!!!

Dr. Wendel is not a tough grader. If you are not good in math you still have a chance with him. Only thing I thought was a little tough is that it really is a self teach class. lots of homework but like I said, he is not a super tough grader and if you make an effort you can pass.

I took Mr. Wendel's hybrid class, so we only met every other week. In class he just goes over the concepts and help with questions. Outside of class, all the work is on Mylab Math, which can be pretty heavy sometimes. Some test's are proctored and others are not, but you always have a chance to earn points back on a test. I would recommend!

Professor Wendel was always available for any questions I had about my course. Though it was self paced and could be completed as quick or slow as you like, I still felt like I was connected to my class. I will definitely take him again for my next math course.

I am very bad at math, and I have failed every math class besides this one. Dr. Wendel is a great professor. He truly cares about his students, and always wants them to succeed. There is a decent amount of homework, but he does not have a certain due date. He keeps homework and tests open all semester long. Three are proctored, and two are not.

I liked Dr. Wendel's class, there are a lot of homework assignments through MyLab but for the most part they are easy. There are chapter quizzes which have unlimited attempts same as homework assignments. Test are proctored but you can take them at home with a webcam. There is easy extra credit also.

If you're bad a math, consider taking a different class because some of the topics in this are: statistics, Boolean algebra, algebraic geometry, and advanced trig/calc. Professor Wendel was nice and helped me quite a few times, but this class is homework HEAVY. If you bomb the tests, you bomb the entire class. But easy extra credit was offered.

I had Mr. Wendel in Spring 2023, I can really tell he cares about his students comprehension skills and making availability for help other students to achieve their academic goals. He was literally one of the best college professors I've taken since starting at EFSC in Fall of 2020. 10/10 would recommend taking Mr. Wendel!

I've never been a math student but taking this class with Dr. Wendel was the BEST DECISION. Class is homework heavy, and tests are proctored, but the tests/final are through Math Lab and the questions are pulled from the homework assignments, but if you take notes you will be sure to pass! Best class! Already signed up for his 1107 class.

Professor Wendel was great. I took this course online, however I could tell from his introduction discussion post that he was kind and wanted his students to succeed. Assignments are through Aleks, and tests are proctored, but if you put in the work and take notes on the lessons you will do fine.

TAKE PROFESSOR WENDEL! I can't say enough good things about this professor and his kindness. I dealt with some complicated health issues and ended up being unable to complete many assignments until the last week of class. Professor Wendel worked with me until the last possible moment and assisted me with clear expectations of what I needed. PT.1
