Very good techer over all. Keeps a test bank on his faculty page which is exact to his tests. Has good productive lectures.
excellent prof. -- born to teach -- my inspiration for a history degree.
Doug was great. I recommend!~
No Comments
Excellent professor! He delivers very enthusiastic lectures and clearly enjoys history and his job teaching it. Jump at the opportunity to take his class if history is your thing.
Mr. Klepper is a very fun guy. He tends to go all over with his lectures. He jumps on chairs and walks around alot. However, that does not matter because his test banks are on the faculty web page, and the "essay answers" are usually from the
Great teacher.
funny guy his lectures are all over theplace hard to follow. but intersting. 4 parts on test a. wordbank real easy(on his web) b. map(easy) c. explain ( write a lot on this part to get ahead) d. match or vocab (hard, dont know what word to know:(
He's a hottie!
Hot?? Mr. Klepper? Now, that's weird!! Real crazy teacher who jumps all over the place with his lectures. However, the class is fun and he makes it interesting. He has test banks on his website that are extremely helpful. Be prepared to work
One of those profs that you will remember well after you leave his class. His lectures are energetic and interesting. He does digress sometimes but if you keep up with the reading and glean hints from his lectures to essay questions then you will do ok.
Took him several years ago. I remember him from substituting at my highschool in the late ‘80's. He was great then and great now. He’s down to earth, untraditional, entertaining and funny. He made history quite enjoyable.
He does jump around a lot, but makes up for it when you he gives you partial credit for blatantly absurd answers. He's fair and has a lot of interesting information aside from the course material. He'll entertain you take him
Klepper is awesome. I wish I needed more history credits just to have his class again. The test material is given to you, so just pay attention to lecture and enjoy it. Although he may be a little scattered, he's definately cool and very knowledgeable. Take him if you can!
Real cool, fun, easy tests...
Funny guy, i enjoyed his class as long as i was awke enough to listen. Very enthusiastic and knowledgable. Gives student every opportunity to succeed.
Great Prof, not hard at all if you just listen and take notes.
what a cool guy he is. very entertaining, very funny, good lectures, not so difficult tests. making me want to take up history as a minor.
This guy is great!
Klepper is a genius when it comes to history! Although, his lectures may put you to sleep sometimes. He jumps around a lot because he just knows so much information. His class is easy. Just study the testbanks.
this is one of the best teachers that I have ever taken. He is so knowledgable of the subject and cares so much for teaching and helping and it was a pleasure to be in his class. If you have to take this subject, or just like history, this is the guy to take...you will learn so much
a great class, easy, all material on tests given, EVEN ESSAY QUESTIONS, has 2 choices & will give them to you verbatim the class be4 the test, even for the final. He's weird but lots of fun, LOTS of fun. An easy A and worth the time/effort.
He posts testbanks on his websites that the majority of the test comes off of and as long as you study those, you have an "A" If you aren't into history, the lectures will probably bore you, but the class is easy and he's hilarious.
Very nice and entertaining professor. Knows his history and loves to teach it. Test are exactly the same as the study sheets. Great personality and sense of humor. I highly reccomend him. Wish I could take him again.
I took this class before he made it tests easier via testbanks and I still made an A. Klepper is smart, attentive, hilarious, and goes out of his way to make the class fun. He's an All-Star cast by himself! One of the most enjoyable experiences I've had at SFCC.
This class is interesting, but don't take it at night time. Class is way too long and you dont get a break always. Also, make sure you read the book and the test banks.
Took D.K. at night,...makes you a little sleepy sometimes, but he definitly tries to liven it up. Made an A in the course, but I did have to put some effort in to it. He gives test bank questions for each chapter before the test. They are hard to find sometimes but its worth looking them up, as they basically are identical to the Q's on the test.
By far the best class I've taken at SFCC. He is really excited during his lectures, and really knowledgeable about the material. Tests are large, but not difficult if you prepare. Quizzes always seem to have 1 or 2 tricky questions, but the rest are easy. Awesome professor.
If you're looking for a good history class I would highly recommend Prof. Klepper. He is a great teacher, and makes the class one you won’t want to miss. The lectures are great; tests aren’t anything to be afraid of (if you study the test bank and listen) and he covers the material well. You will learn a lot from him.
VERY unorganized and unspecific person. His notes are a bunch on jamble on the board with sloppy and small handrighting. Easy to get mulitple choice questions right off the testbanks. Short answer is rather difficult. He is good teacher. He rambles a lot in class but is very smart person and has tought many different classes for many years.
I just love professor Klepper. His lectures can be a bit scattered but if you read the test banks, you will do fine. He SPELLS OUT what you have to know for the tests. Great guy! Honestly loves what he does. I'd take him again in a heartbeat despite the absence of breaks during his nightclasses!
Professor Klepper really has a lot of information to provide his students, he knows what he's talking about. His lectures seem a bit scattered at times, but that's not always such a bad thing. He gives questions based on lectures and study guides that are posted online. Good teacher.
Really cool guy.
Great guy, I just love him.
klepper is crazy cool. he gives you everything you need to know for the tests (4) and there aren't any quizzes. one paper isn't too difficult and attendance is pretty lenient. the only downfall of klepper's class was the grade scale. only gives A,B,C,D doesn't give any +s. overall i love the guy, but now he is done teaching the class
Great teacher learned a ton.
I HATE History, but I LOVEd this class. I actually looked forward to hearing his retelling of European history as a series of interconnected stories. Way interesting class.
Tell all your friends that this is the teacher to take for history. I would recommend this professor for students who hate history. I wish he taught all my classes--especially calculus. He has a positive attitude with a unique outlook on life, and a passion for teaching history.
You must like lectures because that's all he does. If you do the test banks he post online, you'll pass the tests. Only one project of the year was a paper & oral presentation. In the beginning he takes roll but he really doesn't care by the end of semester. he's willing to help you out if you have issues.
This is the man for history! He makes the class fun, there is no homework, just do the test banks online, and you'll pass the class. Great Teacher!
Awesome teacher!
Best teacher I've had at SFCC so far. Mr. Klepper has a great sense of humor, he is very helpful, knowledgeable, and an excellent lecturer. His class was always the bright spot of my day. Take this class, you wont regret it.
Easily the most fun class I've ever had the privledge to attend. The class is basically stand up comedy about history. He makes the subject so exciting and fun to learn about that you cant help but show up to his class every day.
He is the most animated and funnest teacher I have ever had!! =D I love Mr. Klepper. I went to his office for help and he took the time to answer every one of my questions. If you are willing to learn, he is willing to help. The hardest part of the class was staying awake while reading the textbook at home. This guy is one amazing person.
This guy makes class fun, everything he says is hilarious. Best history teacher i have ever had. Make sure you do the test banks or the test well be hard.
Klepper is a character! he is very funny! He is kinda hard to understand because he talks fast or mumbles, one. BUT his class is extremely easy and all you have to do to pass the test is do the reviews online because they are word for word.
He's kind of spacey in his lectures. But exams are fairly straightforward.
AMAZING! Very cool and laid back guy! There's something about that beard.
He's a very entertaining teacher, and that's about it. Not quite good at organization or summaries. He kind of just babbles on and on. Hard to get a clear answer for anything. Good guy though.

Teacher makes class interesting. The textbook is very useful. He is a little confusing with lecture, he jumps from country/people often. Tests are pretty easy bc he gives a test bank multiple choice question which appears exact on the exam. He gave one essay question for the exam prior so students can brush up on the topic. I recommend this class.
Great teacher. Interesting and funny. Changes subjects fast, so pay attention. DO YOUR STUDY GUIDES and you will get A's. To do your study guides, you MUST read the chapters. Don't be rude and talk during class, but if you are, Klepper will put you in your place. PARTICIPATE in class. Ask questions. Don't ask redundant questions.
I didn't really learn anything from this class. The notes are sporadic, but he's hilarious. The tests are a little difficult to study for, because the questions come from so many places.
I loved this teacher! He's funny and knows a lot about the subject he teaches. He does make fun of the idiots in class because it seems a lot of people don't take his class seriously. So if you do have him as a teacher, respect him. Or you'll get yours. Otherwise, just do your study guides and read the book (take notes!) and KEEP OLD TESTS to get A
I loved this class and would highly recommend it to others! Be sure to utilize the test bank questions too!
Awesome professor! He's a bit eccentric, but hilarious. If you pay attention to what he's saying, he's really easy to follow. I took EUH2000 with him a while ago, so when I needed a modern history class I took this class because he was teaching it. He's my all-time favorite history professor I've had yet.
Awesome professor! His classes were alot of fun, and he was always funny if you were listening to his lectures. Even though what he talked about in class wasn't always on the test, I was able to make up for this just by reading the textbook before each test and I was fine. He is always very helpful and will answer any question you have. Take him!!!
Klepper is a nice teacher. He is funny and happy to work with students. come to class, complete assignments on time and take notes from his lectures and you should be fine.
Took western civilization 1. Was a great class, didn't even have to buy the book. He presents the information very well, really knows his stuff and is funny. Highly recommend this class if you like history.
Great teacher. I felt like I learned a lot from his class. Grading is easy, and if you attend class you will practically be guaranteed an A.
Hilarious teacher. He's always really interested and enthusiastic about the material. Definitely take his class if you can!
Mr. Kleppers is a great teacher. He knows his stuff and you can tell he enjoys teaching. He is funny and engergic in class. His class isn't hard but if you want a B or higher you have to study and do your work. I took him for HUM2250 and was pleased with the class. His Ancient Civ. class looks great. Take him!!! F.B.
Although he is a nice guy, he's very disorganized. If you're not good, or have no interest in history, then I suggest you look for another professor. He's exams are not like the study guides at all. Jumps from one topic to another. No "good" notes. Really nice guy, but not worth it. Take someone else.
TAKE THIS TEACHER!! Look he is the most knowledgeable, and enthusiastic teacher i have ever had. I always have fun in his class, he actually keeps me from skipping school! He uses no slides, all chalk and talk. so what you have to read the book a little to ace his tests, but ITS WORTH IT!! I created an account for this website because of him!!
I do not recommend anyone to take this class with this professor. He is very disorganized, never one time, and tests are not like the study guide at all! Very tricky. This class was even more stressing that my calculus class. It's an interesting class, but take someone else.
So i read all the previous reviews and decided to take this class... OMG HUGE MISTAKE... he is a nice guys and tries to make the class laugh. but his what he lectures isn't on the test. so you hear him talk for a hour about BLAH!... just dont do it unless you like to teach yourself.
Klepper is the man! He's really passionate about the course and does his best to bring you more than just the lecture. we watched old films and discussed paintings on an overhead projector. Only 3 short papers were assigned and we got to choose the topic of our own paper. Simple, fun, easygoing. What college should be. Do the work, get the A.
Awesome professor. I would recommend to anyone. Not your typical professor he makes his class lectures fun and tries to involve the class. With his class though you really should take notes. I hardly looked at the book and relied mostly on my notes but reading the book is helpful. If you put in the effort you will pass this class with no problem.
Really strange but good guy. Tends to be a little jumpy during his lectures as far as what he teaches but tells you what's on the tests and it's actually on the tests! For a relatively easy history credit I would highly recommend this class!
ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS- EVER. GREAT GUY ALL AROUND BUT VERY GREAT AT WHAT HE DOES. EVERYTHING WAS VERY INTERESTING AND WAS WORTH COMING TO CLASS!!
He was an awesome teacher his projects were really thoughtful and were there to help not hurt you and he made it so it was easy to pass he told you what was on the test and what to study the final were all the tests put together. overall a fantastic teacher!
Klepper is awesome, hes funny, sweet, and a bit goofy, but he knows all the material. Since it was his first time teaching this class, he was lenient about everything. His tests are reasonable, mostly text based, and he assigned one easy project. He is one of my all time favorite teachers, definitely reccomend. TAKE HIM!

I love this guy. A little eccentric as the smartest professors should be, and he is brilliant.
Love this guy. Just brilliant. Made me feel like the world was interesting after so many crappy classes
Great teacher, knows his stuff and makes history incredibly interesting.
He is an overall good professor. He knows the subject matter extremely well. He doesn't give you many grades back, but he is not that tough of a grader either. His tests aren't that bad. There is a major paper in this class but it isn't that bad.
He is NOT clear. Talks about the most random things, none of which are on the test. He has crazy amount of lectures and then you get to the test and its so broad- its like where did this come from
Well I took Western Civ -EUH2000? BACK IN 2012 GOT "C+" i didnt really read the book or study... Fall 2014 i took Contemp world Hist-WOH2040! I read more this time! he lectures on and on but encourages participation, tries to help but you may have to remind him... a bit scattered brained but he's knows his history! earned "B+" take good notes!
Loved Klepper's class, Knows History!!! You'll have to put in the work, but an A is obtainable. Great lectures, and he has a unique sense of humor. The exams are not hard, but you will need to read the material. Homework assignment are pretty strait forward. I plan on taking him in the future as much as possible. Great professor!!!!!
Knows his stuff, but you must read the text for 99% of info tested. Very easy grader with most test questions verbatim from not-for-credit quizzes. Even tells ahead of time what the test essay questions are. Need to show up and participate. Very available for questions and likes his students. Easy A with some effort.
He was very clear about what he wanted and gave plenty of time and notice for assignments. The end project was one of the most fun things I have done in a while since I got to pick the topic. It was a World History class and I got to teach about nuclear physics! Would absolutely recommend you take him.
Mr. Klepper is a personable, funny guy. The class was informative, and he always knew each topic thoroughly. The class isn't hard. The online hw quizzes are the questions on the test. I didn't use the textbook because I studied the quizzes online. Over all it was great. Only down-fall, he would usually lose some assignments.
If you care about more than grades I would highly suggest taking his class. Professor Klepper really cares about the subject matter and sometimes goes off on tangents to explain certain parts further. He is a little unorganized so trying to figure out when something is due on Canvas or in class can be confusing, ask questions! Very fair grader.
He is a fun teacher and you can tell he really cares about his profession. However, he gets off on tangents and it is very difficult to take notes in his class. If you need organization and structure, this is probably not the teacher for you. He doesn't give very many assignments aside from the occasional essay. Overall, I would exercise caution.
Great professor. Really makes the lectures fun and interesting.
Mr. Klepper has been my favorite teacher this semester. He truly values his students and makes a good effort to make the material fun and interesting. I used to hate history and was never good at it but Mr. Klepper is the kind of guy you want to do well for because of who he is as a person. Tests are super fair and he prepares you super well!
Be prepared to have little time on tests and quizzes with a bunch of questions. Also that the lecture never adds up to the book.
Speaks for lectures, uses chalk board and chicken scratch writing, have to really pay attention to him talking to take notes, read the book(Notes sometimes don't add up), and VERY scattered brain.
Klepper is a nice guy and the classes are very enjoyable, but is not very clear when teaching. Little of what he teaches in the lectures goes to the tests, and the tests are the only grades apart from a couple of quizzes which, again, come up as confusing. Would recommend to buy the textbook, but you can borrow it at the library too.
If you want an A in his class, just make sure you read the chapters and study the practice quizzes. His lectures don't really go anywhere, but at least he makes them enjoyable. Klepper's hilarious, I would definitely recommend taking him for this course.
Overall my Favorite Professor! It is greatly shown that he loves what he does, so much that he gets carried away on irrelevant topics at times. Supposedly the textbook is required, but the tests were mainly made up from his lectures. He is also a little unorganized so its easy to get mixed up on due dates. Easy A and is also pretty funny
An excellent professor. Eccentric, funny and overall knowledgeable. Pay attention on class, take notes and don't be afraid to ask! He can get you an easy A if you put a little effort.
Prof. Klepper was an amazing teacher! his material was very easy to understand and his tests were relatively easy to take! i highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys learning about the history of many different things. No homework, but there are a few papers to write and they are not difficult at all.
He is a funny guy. He comments on his own questions/statements but it just shows how knowledgeable he is. Lectures heavy but interesting. 3 in class assignments and 3 tests. Do not trip about the tests trust me, they are easy As you just gotta use your head on how to make it easy.. hint* hint*... Gives a study guide w/ key terms that you fill out.

Hes a great professor, with great lectures, but be sure to read the book because he will skip over important content that you will be tested on. Only 3 tests, plus a final based on those tests.
He is amazing, eccentric, a real professor-not a regect from City College, which is what I get at SF in the business program
Klepper was very funny and nice, but his lectures are all over the place and often out of order. You will have to rely on the textbook for information. Very few assignments outside of tests, so all you really have to do outside of his class is read out of the book.
As a person I really liked Prof. Klepper, I just found his class frustrating. He's a cool guy and really funny, but if you don't have the textbook and learn a good part of the material on your own you won't do well. His lectures are kind of unstructured and rambling so it's hard to take good notes in my opinion. Again, liked him but not the class.
I don't really understand some of the reviews that graded him poorly. While he is scatter-brained and will often go on long tangents, his lectures are still pertinent to the test and a good half of the questions will be from the lecture. He is quite funny and only gives a few test and an essay. Take if you are interested in history and need an A.
One of the best professors I've ever had. You have to show up to his lectures to pass, but you will want to show up since his lectures are interesting. Definitely write notes, because you are graded on 3 tests, 1 paper, and 2 quizzes.
Klepper is interesting. I was totally confused by the teaching style, kind of an all over the place story time that you have to soak into your brain or else the tests are very hard. No power points, just lots of scribbles on the board. He does want you to pass though. Try to look back in the book cause those lectures really didn't do it for me.
Klepper is literally the best professor ever! I took him for EUH2000 last semester and took him again this semester. Sometime's he repeats himself, but when he does usually it's going more in-depth about the topic. I highly suggest taking his classes.
Okay so Klepper himself is super cool, 10/10 would recommend just listening to him talk; he's super knowledgable and tells dad jokes! Other than that, there are questions on tests that he just does not talk about in class. This goes for hum2230 as well. Use the textbook! Really try to pay attention and you'll pass, it's not a difficult course!
I've had Mr. Klepper for two classes and would take him again if I could. He's a cool guy and I found his lectures very easy to follow. It helps if you're interactive in his class and ask questions.
Prof. Klepper is nice and very caring and smart but if you want a concise path between homework, quizzes and tests don't take this class. I like order ,precision but didn't get it here which was frustrating at times. Prof. Klepper was more than fair and very nice. Listen in class read u will be fine..
I took him during semester A and it was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. If you put in effort to his few assignments, you will get an easy A.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Klepper as my professor. Great teacher all around. Both a gentleman and a scholar.
He is very knowledgable about the subject and very good and conveying that knowledge to the students. He does have a tendency to go off topic at certain points, but he always gets back on topic before things go too far awry.
Took this 6-week course online and it was pretty self explanatory and easy to navigate throughout the semester. 30 question quizzes with a discussion each week, and two papers. He grades the papers pretty thoroughly, but provides good feedback. I would definitely take this class again.
Great teacher just have to stay on top of him with emails or go by his office but really caring about his students. Wants all his students to pass
