Makes the class funny and enjoyable. My only problem was her emphasis on proper wording, only to find confusing and misleading questions on assignments and tests.

She gives you all the info you need to study for tests which helps a lot. All you need to do is go over your notes and the info is presented in a way that is easy to understand. She is very energetic and makes the class enjoyable.

Dr. Mccain is an o.k teacher. She goes a little to fast with her lecture and notes. Her tests are kinda hard, and shes really loud. She is definitey an extrovert!! She has an outgoing personality and is very nice. She gives our candy before tests.

Dr. McCain is a great professor and a wonderful person. Her tests are tough, so study hard.

She is a fabulas teacher! H=I have learned so much from her and she makes it very interesting. Her tests are very difficult though, you must be able to use the information given not just know it. She is my favorite prof i have had so far at the college

#1 rule, dont miss any classes. If you miss lecture you are in big trouble. Make a freind and get their notes, book will help you none. Dont bother arguing over grades, it is a futile effort. 89.9999% is still a 3.5 to her. Irregardless of participation.

I have right now, and havent taken a test yet. But, she is a very fun , interesting teacher. I will take her class as often as i can

Dr. McCain was a wonderful influence in my life and the best professor I have ever had. I don't think I will ever have a better professor. I will never forget the things I learned in her classes. She is a wonderful person and an excellent professor.

Not a class for the faint of heart, esp. in the half semesters. Read & study or you will fail that simple. Welcome to college, you will actually have to learn something and not only definitions but be able to use theory in practice. Im a CJ major, found it difficult but do'able. I think many taking this class seem to NEED therapy, to many questions

Dr. McCain is an excellent professor.But only take her is you are serious about learning.You will leave out of her class and actually feel as if you've learned psyc. She's 1 of the best professors I've ever had! A good hint that helped me get a 4.0 is to read the book. Don't just read notes. Many of her essay quest. come right out the bk. Good luck

don't need a book, hardly even need to come to class- assuming she actually puts the notes online. generally, if you come to class and take notes, you'll pass every test with flying colors. provides lots of extra credit. fantastic teacher.

She is the best teacher I've ever had. Entertaining, and she teaches things very well. If you're going to take any Psych classes at Mott, take McCain, she's just awesome.

Shes a great teacher, always happy and upbeat, making students feel comfortable. She goes over everything more than once if you need it. The tests are super easy if you read the material. She makes the class INTERESTING! :)

Not sure what McCain some of these other people had. She can speak very fast, is not an easy dont need the book class. If your not a Psyc. major your going to WORK your butt off. Teaches like everyone there is a Psyc major and wont cut any slack. If your .000005 from a 3.5 you'll get a 3.0 Tuff no excuse instructor, dont miss classes or your lost.

Dr. McCain is a super nice lady. She keeps the class interested by letting everyone share personal stories and commenting on them. Extra credit is available. Exams are majority multiple choice (80%). Homework was never assigned. Just study because all you have for a grade is attendance and Exams. Its not a blow off class, but not super hard.

Great professor- Clear presentation during lecture, wonderful, understanding personality. Snacks during tests, another bonus. No points taken off for missed class. Only negative; essay questions for test...make sure you study!

I am currently enrolled in Dr. McCain's class and I've found her to be extremly interesting and helpful. She knows what she's talking about and uses different ways to help students understand the material. Very personable, but no non-sense.

One of the best teachers at Mott. I don't know what problem some people had with her she's very helpful you do have to show up and study (OMG what a horrible thing for a prof to make you do!) You never have to write papers there are 5 tests that are 80% mulitple choice and 20% essay Seriously, if you cant handle her class, good luck at uni!

Very nice person, very energetic and enthusiastic. No homework just make sure you study for the tests and they won't be so bad. After the 1st one you'll see how she presents her tests and you should be fine. Lots of in class extra credit which significantly help your grade!

Dr. McCain is fun and enthusiastic. Attendence isnt required but she offers x-cred for inclass part. which can raise you a full grade. You have to do more than memorize key terms. You really have to know how to apply the knowledge. That's very important to do well on her test because most of the test involves scenerios and 20% of test is essay.

have her for abnormal psych she is great... really good at engaging the class and helping us learn... lol she talks to us all like we're future therapists which is inspiring as well. she even gives advice about personal issues during break and after class.

she is the only prof that I have ever known to remind me to pick up the review sheet when I leave class early after a test... and not even in a condescending way, kind of caring and concerned. great teacher too, just hard seems to be at more of a grad lvl than undergrad, def directed at psych majors

one of the hardest teachers in this world, but still one of the greatest at the school. she will make sure that you get it, and if you she dont she will meet with you afterwards. love her she is cool, and make class so fun.

McCain was an...interesting teacher. Worked extensively with powerpoint presentations. Download those and dont bother with the book, unless its just to reinforce the notes. She seemed to talk in circles and was really hard to follow. Plan to learn the material on your own.The tests were confusing. On the bright side, plenty of extra credit!

Dr. Mcain is just awesome! she is very very nice but her tests were soooooo super hard! I am not sure I would take her class again but she did provide powerpoint notes I dont think I ever cracked the book!

I've had her for Abnormal Psych and Theories of Personality. She understands what she is talking about and does notes off of a powerpoint. Goes at what ever pace the class needs and will answer any question without hesitation. As others have said, the tests can be hard, but if you put in an hour or two studying the night before you can do just fine

She is amazing! Passionate, funny, keeps your attention. ALL of the notes are on powerpoint, and tests are based off of them. Attendance is necessary- she gives out extra credit points each class.. She also drops your lowest test score! Great teacher

She posts power points before class so you can print them and then take extra notes. With a little studying the class is super easy. If you have over a 90% you don't have to take the final. She gives a good study guide and makes sure everybody understands. She is a little unorganized but not horribly.

I've taken her for general psych and abnormal psych. She knows what she is talking about and is extremely helpful if you just ask. She works with you very well and is very understanding. She tests hard...but I find that actually makes her a good teacher. She expects you to LEARN the material. If you just study and ask questions you'll be fine.

I took the class online. It was quite easy. We had video case studies, 3 quizzes per chapter cluster, and then a test. She challenges you though. It's not enough to just know the definition. She expects you to apply them. She doesn't respond to email quickly so don't expect a reply immediately but all in all I would take her class again.

One of my favorite instructors. I had Dr. McCain for two classes (Theories and Abnormal) and she is spectacular. Her classes are not easy, "filler" classes.. and they shouldn't be. You have to be able to grasp and apply the concepts. I get mad when people bad mouth her because she is phenomenal.

I have Mrs.McCain for the winter semester and I found her class to be somewhat easy. All you have to do is pay attention in class, print the powerpoints, and study ONLY what's on the study guide and you will do just fine. The in-class assignments help bring your grade up at the end of the semester as well.

Dr McCain is such a wonderful instructor. She is always available during office hours and email. She mos def wants her students to succeed. Although, you should not take this class unless you are prepared to study! Its alot of work...Taking Dr McCain will make your Mott expierence one hundred times better. I feel privaleged having learned from her.

I had Dr McCain for both Theories and Abnormal. These classes are not easy..Although if you apply yourself (study, Study AND STUDY) you will do wonderful. She will make your expierence at MCC most rewarding. It whould be mandatory for every student to take her. ;)

nice teacher. She goes over material as expected, but does not apply material at all like it is on the tests. Book is a waste of money for this class...Tests are STUPIDLY difficult...I'm a 3.5-4.0 student. 40% of the class is failing right now at midterm. I Have a 1.5 at midterm. If you are going to take psych, do NOT take her!

I had Dr. McCain for General Psych, Abnormal Psych, and Theories of Personality. If she taught more than just those three, I would take them! Excellent Professor. Listen and you will learn. Her classes are not for those who do not wish to make an effort in this discipline. Not easy classes, you must study the material.

I took Theories of Personality with Dr. McCain. She is entertaining and gives you all the information you need to do well. As long as you understand the information and can think critically about it, you will do just fine on her tests. Loved this professor!

She's a very knowledgeable and kind-hearted lady. Her tests aren't very difficult, just study and know how to apply info. I didn't study for a quiz and relied on class-time knowledge and still got a B. She even brings snacks in for tests. She really knows about Theories of Personality, and is really clear in explaining it

Dr. McCain is a brilliant and compassionate woman who has led a fascinating life. I learned a lot in her class albeit lectures could be boring at times. The workload was very manageable but most students will need to study in order to succeed. Go figure.
