Difficult to understand and unhelpful, but friendly.
Tried to be helpful, but often unclear. Slides hard to get off web and print.
If she said "is this clear" one more time I was going to shot myself
The best prof I have ever had. She's helpful and fair.
Tough to understand and confusing...short temper!
friendly, but lacks self confidence!!!
Testing Policy unfair - uses same test for Mon / Thurs sessions...Thur knows ans

She wants you to understand and do well in her course. Great sense of Humour.
excellent prof
one of the nicest profs you'll meet in your life
kinda scary...
Compensates for crap course notes with hints to exams, don't buy the workbook!
Funny lady, gives lots of hints for assignments and exams but sux at teaching
Exams were easy. But she's incredibly condescending & mean!
hot sexy woman who loves teaching. nice accent and sense of fashion. nice sense of humour, asks if we underestand a lot.helpful during office hours. talks a lot, ..... sometimes you ask a question and she tells you her life story
Talks about her overheads, but doesn't really teach. Seems to care about the students, but she should try being a little nicer.
She is the nicest prof you will always have. She is so funny and really cares a lot about the students.****ed students in her class do not appreciate her and are too dumb to know how good she is. She is so approachable if you actually try to talk to her
Interesting class, but text and workbook are useless and her ppt lectures aren't that great. She worries too much and should relax more! Midterm was fine, but exam hard!
AWESOME!!! Very funny and she seems to really care a lot about the sstudents! Chews gum a lot
She is unnecessarily rude and unhelpful.
I have never met someone that is as unapproachable as Dragana. She won't even let you ask a question before she starts putting you down. I don't think anyone like this should be in a position such as hers.
I find Dragana Miskovic very unapproachable, quick to judge and very rude. She is not able to reason with the students in a professional mannor but jumps to conclusions and will not hear students questions, concerns or ideas.
Misko is a very mean and rude person. She needs to learn to respect students and be able to listen to them. She is always cranky, if she doesnt like dealing with students, then she should just quit her job and stop pms'ing all the time
She has a very peculiar way of speaking, but she's generally very generous and helpful. She gave me one of those you're-such-a-moron-smirks but it's only because I did something stupid. Don't be stupid.
Wow.... dont approach her, she really wont listen. Be prepared for things to show up on your tests/quizes that you havent even learned yet. Dont expect her to ever reconsider an unfair test question
Great teacher. Lots of study materials provided, she covers the material as thoroughly as the class needs it to be. Responds to e-mails quickly which is real nice. Good looking.
Anyone who thinks she's a good teacher just doesn't understand what's going on in the course, and should consider a change in faculty. She frequently teaches material incorrectly and is too stubborn to admit it.
May be smart, but you'd never know it since she is too busy critisizing students. She is rude, unapproachable, inconsiderate and closed-minded. Not the makings of a good prof. Does not even come close to mediocrity in the profession. Beware.
This is a tough course but Dragana makes it easy for students to do well. Do the study questions and go to lectures. She gives lots of hints and 70% of the questions on the midterm and final you've seen before. Tutorials are helpful. I think she's Great!
Accent makes it hard to understand sometimes... Always readily available to help students. This course can be very overwhelming, and thats why her helpful questions and hints are awesome
Great professor, very intelligent. I think she is very good looking.
I just had my first and probably last encounter with this one. She seems like a true ****!!!! Extremely unhelpful especially as I am a DE student and don't have access to things on campus.

I have been in dragana's classes and TAed for her. She is an incredible person. I completely loved molecular with her and she was great to work for as well. Don't take her to seriously if you feel she is abrasive. She is my favourite prof and one of my best memories of waterloo! I learned tons!!
Really nice woman!!!!! If you ever need someone to talk to or someone to help you understand the whole picture! She is the woman to speak to!!!!!
Oh my God, what a monster! I was terrified of going to get my lab section changed and she freaked out! I can't stand her and felt like telling her off to her face, what rock did she crawl out from under?
If you think she's mean, you're either a woman, a panzy,a moron,or all of the above. She's may not smile as often,or at all,but she's incredibly helpful and an excellent teacher. Just because she has a stern way of speaking,it doesn't mean she doesn't like you. Grow some balls and approach her. Tool.

Dragana is a MONSTER! she yelled our whole histology course at us, and would get so angry when someone asked a question during the class that she would actually turn red and shake. REAL scary lady. Between her and Duxbury, they MUST be something up with that stretch of hallway....
Dragana is fantastic...at least from a DE point of view. She is so helpful and responds quickly to any questions you might have about the material covered. So far I haven't seen any of the monster stuff others have mentioned, although I've never met her in person. I give her an "A" personally.
She is the worst person to get in contact with. I needed to see a quiz i wrote b/c it was a really low grade and I know i got better mark b/c we took it up in class. I emailed her and she never responded. So now I'm going to see her but with all the comments below I don't know if I should.
Without a doubt one of the smartest ladies in this field i have ever met. She's a bit intimidating, and tends to yell when you cant understand relatively easy concepts in her eyes, but if your patient with her,she is very helpful and accomodating.Sometimes hard to understand, with her ARNOLD accent
She is by far one the most genuinely interesting people I have met. I am glad that the people who are educating us get frustrated when we don't know rudimentary concepts; it means that she cares about our educational experience. Well, I suppose those who complain prefer an apathetic souless prof.

She is one of the best profs I've had ever (I am a true DE student). Very helpful, responds to e-mails quickly, fair marking, great tips and genuinely cares for students and their quality of education. Class "A" prof....no question about it. Not everyone is perfect, otherwise life would be boring.
i went to her to see if i could make up a quiz that i missed, and when i knocked on her door, she screamed at me to get in... not too approachable... i'm quite scared of her now actually
she so scary that i scurred of even looking at her in the hallway i usually run the other direction
I admire her knowledge in the course. She is always well prepared and knows her stuff very well. But then sometimes she acts very cold towards students.
She yells at the class for not answering stupid questions. Yells at students for asking stupid questions and making her lose her trian of thought. Also noticed she glosses over concepts she doesn't understand, like simple math. Given, she is interested in her limited subject knowledge.
BEST PROF EVER. She is one of the nicest prof I have ever had at UW. She is actually the most caring prof. She has a humble heart and really wants students to learn the material. The students who complain about her are the ones who only care about grades. Biol 330 is a hard but interesting course!
She is definitley one of those profs that will leave their mark on you. I owe her so much- she is the nicest person you'll meet at UW. Go see her and pay no attention to what other people say.
She's not as bad as everyone makes her out to be! She'll treat you with the same respect you show her.

One of my favorites. Honest, open, caring and knowledgable. Definitely strives to help students understand and achieve success. A true diamond in the rough, as are many of the so-called "instructors" versus faculty. These seem to be the people who really care and work hardest to make our experience worthwhile. Thanks Dragana.
Dragana is the friednliest person you will ever meet on this campus... a true and honest person that will be there for students no matter how busy or stressed out she may be... as such, she is a very easy target for retarded students who make her out to be a monster despite never knowing how much she sticks up for these same morons
Great course. Her study questions were so helpful. Her lecture notes were so complete you didn't even need to pruchase the text. Overall if oyu want to take this course she is a great prof but only teaches in the spring.
Anyone who says anything about Dragana is clearly just looking for someone to blame for their bad mark. Honestly, I am the dumbest person on Earth and she was able to teach molecular biology to me. I love her.

1)makes easy midterms; 2)lets you choose which midterm grade to take 3)gives your the option not to write the second midterm 4)writes paragraphs of notes on your 27 page assignment even though she has 350 to read. 5)offers the final exam as your final grade...... HOWEVER.. it IS killer and start assignement as soon as you get it. It is killer!!!!!!
Dr. Miskovic taught me molec. bio and is my academic advisor. She is a very caring person both as my advisor and as a professor. She asks us diff ways for her to teach the concepts to us so that we can understand it. she's concerned about whether or not we are grasping the basics. however, She may be intimidating esp when u dont know basics
No Comments
Totally rude individual with no sense of teaching. Should not be head of bio!
She isn't as bad as I had expected before taking 330. If you ask a question, you must demonstrate that you have put effort in trying to understand the concept and specify why you can not understand it (NOTE: remain calm) She is very direct and has such a unique sense of humour! BIOL 330 is where I start to like her!
Great prof!!! expected the worst but she's actually really kind and helpful. Will go completely out of her way to help you. But do NOT get on her bad side. Expects a lot but helps you achieve it.
shes awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Notice how everyone who actual has a class with her (i.e. 330 or 308) really likes her, and it's the BIOL 130/139 people who don't? She's really nice and funny, but she has 1500 first years to deal with and when you don't know your head from your a$$ she gets annoyed. Be smart, and she'll be nice.
OMG i love her!
She provided the class with study questions from which 70% of the midterm tests and final exam questions are derived. As long as you do the questions yourself, and thoroughly, you will learn enough to get a great mark. Unlike other bio profs at Waterloo, she does not try to trick you with multiple choice. Go to her class. She's funny.
The best prof ever... Sometimes she seems scary but she is a very nice person and always help her students.
need some improved interpersonal skills
On of the best professors at the University of Waterloo hands down and she teaches core molecular biology for that reason. There really isn't a good reason why a BIOL 130/139 student should meet with Dragana, if you're talking with her in those first year courses, its probably because you're not a good student.
Great prof! Easy course materials and easy midterms/tests. Miskovic doesn't try to trick you. The course material is easy but there is A LOT of stuff to memorize. Use the study questions for review and good luck memorizing around 200+ slides. She WILL ask you to list a lot of the controls and the proteins involved. Easy 100 if u do memorize.
An awesome professor. Very funny (without meaning to be) and helpful.
I gave Dr. Miskovic a chance this year because I know a lot of 1st year students are unfair in rating her here, but....ugh. She isn't interesting, her slides are PACKED with information (essay points!), and they are overly colourful. WAAAAY too much info to memorize, and WAAAY too many study questions. Just my opinion though; people do like class.
Probably the best prof in the Biology Department. She really truly honestly wants you to do well. I went from a 51 on the first midterm to a 96 on the second midterm, all because I went to her office hours, did the study questions, and asked questions. I love her sense of humour, and how she sticks up for her students. Thank you Dr. Miskovic! :)
She's awesome. This was the first time I took a course with her. She was so generous to give us a make up midterm to boost our marks. Her study questions and her hints for the exams during lectures were very helpful. She really wants you to do well. So, study hard and do your part. You should be fine:)
A really fair professor. Strict but fair. The course is really hard to cram if you do not keep up with the material. She gives you what you need to know, you just have to do your part and do the study questions. Office hours is often unhelpful and intimidating. Great person, cares about the students, just has a hard time showing a friendly side.
Wonderful professor. Many students misunderstand her intentions because she can be blunt at times. She really does want you to do well, and gives great insight if you see her during office hours.
She may be helpful during office hours but that doesn't change the difficulty of this course! The course covers a lot of content which accumulates at the end. The final covered all of the material from too many lectures that to cover all the course material you would probably need 2 weeks of continuous study to thoroughly understand for a 80+.
An excellent professor, dedicated to students who show interest. Exams are fair and challenging, but she provides study questions which make up 70% of each test. She is available for help and makes students feel important. Anyone who complains about her may either be in first year or is not willing to put in the work demanded by this course.
This is the first time she taught the course. 25% midterm, 75% final. She gives you study questions and most of those questions appear on the exams. Also she has bonus questions on the exams and gives an overall +10% to your final grade for submitting your own study question. Course was difficult but she made it enjoyable and easier. Great teacher!
She really loves to test you with written tests and finals on a lifetime's worth of knowledge. We had over 210 study questions to do when the final had about 30. She mostly read off the slides in lecture and sped through all the material. The bonus marks are to her discretion so you'll end up with maybe only 5% for one of the hardest courses at UW.
This class is VERY content heavy. However, Dragana wants ALL her students to do really well. I mean she gives you the study questions and they appear WORD for WORD on the exam and there's like 15% overall bonus in the course almost. She might get mad but she really does care. She knows her stuff 110% and will give you the answer to any study questio
There are much better ways to test students on embryology than completely long answer exams. I've seen them on google at other universities. Reads off of powerpoint slides and did not take any time to explain. She has a ruthless marking scheme that does not allow for partial marks. This course will significantly lower your GPA.
Great teacher. Not out there to get you, honestly! Just do the study questions, do them weekly, so you don't have to cramp(there are 200+ study questions). But this course does have lots of material , but she makes it better by giving you questions ahead! I took it as an elective and loved it! :)
Dr. Miskovic is one of the rudest and most disrespectful professors I have ever met. When approached during office hours, she is condescending at best. It shouldn't matter whether you're a first year or finishing a post-grad, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. I have taken three classes with Dr. Miskovic, hopefully this is the last.
the world would be a better place without her!!! not a bad teacher but a horrible person
This is my second course with her. And it's just as awful. This course has a very demanding reputation as it is, and her course style just makes it much harder with her 200+ Study Questions that you have to answer. If 303 isn't mandatory for you, save yourself the headache and avoid it.
Dr. Miskovic is one of the best profs I have ever had! You really have to earn those grades in her class though - she will not have any mercy on people who don't show up to class and don't do her study questions. The study qs can be overwhelming due to the number of qs, but they are extremely helpful!! Go to office hours and ask lots of questions!
Don't believe what others will tell you (unless you're a first year student..): Dragana is AMAZING! She may be a little intimidating at first, but if you go talk to her during her office hours and actually ask her questions, she is helpful. She wants you to do well, and it shows. Her exams are fair if you do the study q's (unlike 308 with Wolff)!
You're very unhelpful and rude to everyone. You need to be willing to teach your stdents and explain concepts to them instead of just saying "they'r ein your notes." We know they're there, we've read them, we just haven't been able to put the ideas together. If you don't like teaching students, don't teach at all.
Considering she provides you with study questions that constitute 70%+ of the midterm and final exam, getting an 80+ is definitely possible with some memorization. People rag on her for being mean or rude, but when you see her during office hours she needs to see you've put a conscious effort into trying to figure it out for yourself. Great prof!
Excellent Prof. Though course material is edging on difficult and overwhelming, in office hours (and even not in official office hours), Miskovic works diligently to help your understanding. Though first impressions may be intimidating, Miskovic is one of the most humourous, dedicated and helpful profs I have had contact with at UW.
ahah this website is hilarious found it as i needed her contact for reference...shes a great lecturer and very helpfull, some people were intimidated by her demeanor but shes a great teacher. I got to work under her as a TA and loved it.
One of the best profs i had in university so far. She is very helpful if u go for help during our office hours. No textbook needed, memorization of the study questions can help you score 80+ in the course.
Was not present at the labs, only the TAs were. Lab quizzes for her lab were so difficult, I failed a few!
Although the labs were quite boring (a lot of standing around waiting for things to react, etc), getting a good grade here is fairly easy compared to, say, PHYS 111L. Her final is fair and her quizzes are straight out of the lab manual. Do a bit of reading and an 85+ is more than possible.
Dr. Miskovic is one of the most caring people you will meet at UW. Please believe me when I say that it is 1) worth getting to know her, 2) TAing with her if possible, and 3)Most importantly, Taking her classes. She breaks a lot of barriers you will have with other profs, and will help you in the future with anything-I got into med school bc of her
Dr. Miskovic is an excellent professor, she is very helpful and caring. If you take the time to get to know her and do your work and ask her for clarification she will do her best to help you. However, if you think she will just give you the answers, that isn't happening. She is very passionate and wants her students to succeed.
Great Prof! Gives you student questions that covers all the content on the tests. Bonus questions on the tests and a 5% clicker bonus. She honestly does her best to have her students get good grades. Fair grading. If you understand all the study questions you can easily get 90+ in the course, no joke.
The best prof in all of Waterloo! Very helpful and caring! The course itself is very challenging but she's an amazing professor and makes the course very manageable. If you put the work into any of her courses you will end up with 80+ for sure!!!
Was useless as a prof, this course was maddening to take. Molecular Biology has potential to be interesting, until you talk in a monotone voice with a heavy accent the WHOLE time, seriously question why she is even in teaching, doesn't seem to care at all. Exams were horribly written, not extremely hard, but didn't fairly assess material covered
SHE'S ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! TAKE THIS COURSE WITH HER!
Possibly the best prof I've ever had. Really helpful, caring, rewards hard working students. Gives you an optional 90% exam if you did poorly on the midterm. She's just a really great person overall.
Extremely rude person. Her class isn't too bad since she gives you so many options to do well. But seriously, not really a nice teacher to approach; extremely condescending.
She is a wonderful lady!! Great resource for course / material and future avenue advice as well. She helped me understand the basic science as well as serve as a critical reference to help get me into med school. I really appreciate everything she has done for me!!
For all those saying she is horrible, obviously you were not working during the course. She practically gives you the questions before, helps you if you drop by with questions, and is the sweetest. Did all the study questions and went for help. 90+ overall and perfect final exam! Don't take the course if you whine about profs and are lazy yourself!
Extremely rude to students. Replies to emails like a week later. Doesn't care about the course, the entire course was handled by the TAs.
Took this course in Fall 2014 and by far the best and most useful BIOL course I've taken. She's changed it up and while the content is heavy its quite interesting for molecular biology. A must-have BIOL that has all the essentials for you to ace it (ie. bonus marks, sample questions, no textbook needed, etc).
Such a caring person. My favourite prof so far. You gotta look past her superficial details. Some people think she's harsh and cold but deep down she is a very caring and warm person.
You either love or hate Dr. Miskovic. I happen to love her. Kind-hearted, beyond intelligent, funny, and basically gives you the questions on her tests. She needs to see that you're making an effort (in which case she is VERY helpful) and will not just give you answers on a plate. VERY content-heavy, this is NOT a course you can fall behind on.
Great professor. Assigned study questions, which were optional and weren't handed in for grade, but made up 80-90% of the midterm and exam. Focus was on learning the material and not on tedious small assignments (of which there were none). Shows up-to-date research on embryology. Great prof, great class.
Awesome
She is a good professor and her slides include everything you need to know. The only thing I didn't like is that she needs to take a breather. She repeats the same thing over and over again so she talks non stop for the whole lecture, which kind of stressed me out. However, she is a good and quite funny prof.
Didn't show up to 90% of the classes and got 100% in the course. Do the study questions and practice final.
First year, youll think she is strict but by upper years you will realise she is one of the few souls at this university that genuinely care about you, your education and well being. Extremely caring, just be responsible for your actions. You cant be playing victim around her, she sees right through it. Extremely brilliant prof!
Dragana is not the most enthusiastic prof but she teaches you exactly what you need to know for the midterm and the exam. When she says to do the study questions, DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS! The exams are either the exact questions or very similar so it makes studying so much less stressful than it seems like it will be
Don't ask stupid questions
Solid prof, who you can tell is really passionate in what she teaches. Visit her during her office hours, she's great in helping you understand the material.
Dragana was one of the weaker profs I've had in my undergrad. Showed a lack of understanding in the course material and in speaking to students. Dragana exemplifies the weaknesses in our education system; and it is a shame she has gotten by for so long simply for being an educator that began during the prehistoric times.
One of the best, toughest, and organized professors I have ever had. If you do not do well in her class it is not because they are too hard (I don't have a great average but manages a really good mark) but rather a lack of work on the students end. She's a great professor that unfortunately teaches a lot of disrespectful and unmotivated students.
Dragana is easily one of the most amazing professors at UW. After taking Biol 303 with her I have gone out of my way to take every other class she teachers. Her office hours are incredible, she really wants to develop a passion in her students for biology. Her study questions are fantastic. DO THEM AND YOU WILL DO WELL. 11/10, best bio prof at UW!!
Rude. Asked her for a grade boost of 0.1% and she said that I wasnt the only hard working student therefore I didnt deserve it. Facilitated the worst online lab imaginable.
She's so rude to her students. Her emails don't denote any respect and it's clear that she doesn't care. There was this one assignment where she asked TAs to take marks off even though students followed the instructions given on the lab info just because the "expectations are much higher in university." We are expected to read her mind.
I had her for online bio labs and this course was one of the most frustrating courses I had to take. She is practically non-existent and the Ta's run the course but they don't even know what's happening half of the time and are just as lost. She has very specific marking criteria, so if you miss something you are done for. Pray you have a good ta!
She does not care about her students, she has the worst policies in her syllabus, one of them is that you have to pass at lease one of two main reports so you can pass the course regardless the other experiments, so failing is easy, TA does not explain everything coz we have only 30 min a week, they tell you to do research if you need more help!!!!
Every policy Miskovic has is with the intention to help you. Anyone complaining that it's easy to fail her class is boosting. She gives ample opportunity for bonus marks with her office hours and participation. If you go to class and keep up with the study questions she provides you, you should be more than fine. Miskovic is a homie
