Dragos rules!!!!! Great at teaching, great notes, and very helpful. Keep it up man.
He's awesome and he sings in class sometimes.
Dragos is great. He's like a big teddy bear! His notes are amazing and the way he presents new concepts is terrific.
This guy RULES. Sit near the front to get the best of his jokes :)

What can I say? Nothing.
For a first year math teacher, he's the best you can get!
Okay, anyone who doesn't love his class must be out of their mind. One of the best math techers I've ever had, and immensely funny guy. Exams are straight forward, you know what to expect on them. Drah-gos Huh-ree-mee-ooch is way to much fun to pronounce
This prof was awesome. Anyone who doesn't like him has no sense of humour. As for the enlgish comment, he can speak it just fine (but he has an accent). As long as you are not xenophobic, you shouldn't have a problem with his english.
This guy's greatness. so funny.
Great prof. Keeps you coming back to this boring class, just because he's so animated. Totally sign up for his sections if you get the chance.
His lectures could have used a few more proofs and a few less examples, but the material covered was made accessable and anything that was unclear was explained quite well in office hours.
Best Prof Ever! So enthusiastic, helpful, smart.. clarify questions.. my section was packed full by the end of the semester.
Amazing prof. Others are right he's hilarious.
This guy is waaaaay tooo funny. His class is extremely enjoyable. Whenever he covers a dry topic he will always say something stupid to make you laugh. Excellent teacher and is always available for help. Exams are easy if you understand his notes and review sheets. There should be more like him.
Certianly made Math intersting. Funny yes. Examples in class easy, assignments? drop dead hard.
Lets see, my class had about 30 people registered however our lectures in Vwing were packed to the point people would sit on the stairs. Other teachers should take note of their attendance decline. Dragos is the best math teacher I have seen at the UofA, compared to ~10 others. Class examples mimic test questions and aren't just out of the book.
Good explanations and lectures. Pretty helpful outside of class time. Definitely entertaining and would highly recommend for higher level courses.
I like his style of teaching, although the assignments he gave are harder than every one expected. very enthusiastic prof and i think he does care about students compared 2 those other profs. They just want 2 finish the class as soon as they can
I only had trouble understanding him on a few occasions due to an accent and heavy lisp, but other than that - he is hilarious! Assignments are a reflection of exam material. He is not an unfair prof and does not give any surprises on exams.
Most math 101 profs don't have oversized V-Wing rooms (I mean V 106) that are so packed with students people ALWAYS end up sitting on the stairs. And heck, he LOVES us students (he says so...ALL THE TIME). Without doubt the best there is.
Very fair prof, knows exactly what he is doing. I highly recommend.
I have never enjoyed a calculus class so much before in my life. I was excited to go to class because I always thought, "I wonder what Dragos will say and do today". He has a great personality, is very loud and very animated. He explains concepts clearly and points out areas where there is potential for studetns to have troubles. Get in this class!
His notes are key for his class. Exam questions are similar (if not the same) as his examples and the assignment questions. He gets disappointed when class average is low, and he is willing to help.
BEST PROF EVER!!! He made a difficult calculus class really fun!! He was really funny and energetic, and I highly recommend him!
Fair assignments, exams were entirely fair if you attended class and did the assignments. Hilarious guy. Get this class if you can. Dragos is one of the best math professors available, in my opinion. His analogies are pure gold. GOLD. The textbook is worthless, though. His online lecture notes from Allegretto were much better.
Wow!! Dragos is hillarious and a wonderful prof to boot. He looks like Robert DeNero and talks like Borat and has a great sence of humour. Definately the most entertaining prof I have ever had. I was not at all a fan of math, but Dragos turned me around and I actually enjoyed his course!!!
Awesome math proff, definetly worth registering in his class. Along with his amazing teaching comes a sense of humor like no other. Have an integral for breakfast every morning and differentiate for dessert.
Dragos is a saint
best prof. eva..!
Dragster is the best. He's not only hilarious but really good at laying things out. Dragos >> than any other math teacher ive ever had. Period.
The best prof you'll ever have. Amazing notes. An accent, but one thats easy to understand and listen to (and sounds cool too). Does LOTS of examples of every kind to help you approach any type of problem the hmk or tests may throw at you. TAKE HIS CLASS. If you cant register in it, dont show up for yours and show up to his. ITS WORTH IT. FIVE STAR
Greatest teacher I've had since coming to this school. He is very into teaching math and is just a lovable hilarious guy. I attended his lecture even though i wasn't enrolled in it.
BEST PROF EVER! he makes math fun with his analogies ! and i think his favorite rapper is PD ( P Diddy) :D
BEST PROF EVER! had an awesome time going to his class. He knows his math but he is also extremely funny and entertaining! My only advice is to get into his class before it fills up!
AMAZING TEACHER. I went to him even though I was registered in another class. Funny, and helpful. He offers review sessions as well before finals. Amazing guy, get him if you can.
He Is INCREDIBLE. He keeps the course interesting and fun. He has incredible analogies and takes his time through the tough parts of the course. He has an accent but is still very understandable. Another good thing is he does not use a microphone, so he is more clear, dont worry though he has a loud voice so you can still hear him well.
Quite possibly the funniest prof ever. I really looked forward to his class, even though it was in the evening. Very helpful, fair exams and so, so funny. Dragos rules!
Great teacher!
One of the best math professors at the university. No reason to go to the class I was registered in, because he made it 100% more interesting and explained things crystal clear. It is hard to decide whether he or Enver Osmanagic was my favorite, but there is really no reason to choose.
*Dragos Voice*: "Leesten heeere! Theeees guy is the best professor in all University! I Like, You Like!" Honestly he really is the best, he talks like borat and has Robert DeNiro's hair. Plus he keeps you laughing all class. He likes to refer to functions as "girlfriends" and teaches you how to "smell the answer". THE BEST.
This guy is a god
To illustrate how good this guy is..I have 3 friends NOT registered for this Prof class, but they went to every one of his lecture. Did I mention another 5 non-friends people who hijacked Dragos class? We once have people sitting on the floor during class. This guy is clear, give examples and hints to written assignments. And He's FREAKIN funny.
Best math prof hands down! He explains the theory and concept in a way so anyone can understand it. He's very funny and talks really loud and it's actually difficult to fall asleep in his lectures. He's so helpful during office hours. I've asked some really dumb questions and he never made me feel stupid.
Dragos is a huge win. Explains concepts in an understandable manner using humour. Great prof to relieve the stress of school.
People ended up sitting on the stairs, thats how packed the room gets. Go to this man's class. Dragos is a living saint.
EXELLEN PROF, NICE AND FUNNY. IF YOU TAKE HIS CLASS, YOU WILL LEARN AND HAVE A GOOD TIME
If you do not get this guy, do everything in your power to switch into or show up to his class. This man is a god
One of the funniest and most approachable profs out there! His notes are very concise, his jokes are hilarious, he makes you love math. If you're in first year, make sure to get into his and Enver's Class!
Best part of my week is going to this dude's class, he's awesome
Greatest math prof ever. Period.
Hands down best prof
He made math enjoyable. I know of at least 3 people who attended his lectures from other sections. He always related math and ladies... a little unconventional, but memorable. His accent was a little unusual at first, but he's AWESOME! Knows his stuff.
Excellent prof. Explained difficult concepts very well. The most enthusiastic math prof I have ever met, he is very passionate about teaching and wants all his students to succeed.
An excellent professor, would highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic professor. Truly understands and loves what he teaches. Is genuinely interested in the success of his students. Dragos is hilarious in class and his examples give you a good idea of what you will see on the exams. Do everything you can to get into this man's class, he is a Boss.
Dragos is definitely the better of the 101 profs, however he gets overexcited and is unable to clearly explain things. But overall he is a very good prof and I would definitely recommend him.
he is an excellent prof, i love him so much. He explains things crystal clear, he is so cute, THE best calculus prof ever~~~!!!
Best prof ever. would highly recommmend him. after a while his class would get full as students from other classes go to his class as well. thats how good he is
a gentleman and a scholar. makes math fun and interesting, i know several people who consistently attend his lectures despite being registered to other sections. highly recommend his class if at all possible to get into.
Dr. Hrimiuc is an amazing prof. He makes the class fun and interesting. The only course I had with him was Math 309, and he did his best to teach us the course. The course itself is crap with a crap of a required textbook. Oh and he is extremely helpful outside class. Definitely recommended.
This guy is hilarious! Do not ask him a question because he will not understand and will ask the class "what this guy is talking about?" Awesome prof though! Did examples that were very relevant to the midterm and final and this class was always exciting and fun. Took a while to get use to him but if you can take his class jump on the opportunity.
It's a tough class but Dragos will teach you everything you need to succeed and he's god damn hilarious, you won't want to miss a lecture; not that you can without getting screwed. It is taught way different than high school math is so be prepared for that.
This is probably one of the all-around best profs I had this semester. His accent and style of teaching can take a bit of getting used to, but once you get used to him you'll be happy you're in his section. He teaches concepts well, is hilarious, and completely prepares you for the midterm and final.
I say he is the best math prof in this university! He has a bit of accent but he is way too good enough that you don't even care about his accents. Definitely take his class and you will ace the course for sure!
He's a beauty. You'll understand if you take his class. You'll understand how to math after his class. You only learn once. #YOLO
Very good
He made the math class easy and interesting. "As long as you love me ". He is very helpful and very funny. You will never want to skip his class, and the note is very organized and helpful,
I was never enrolled in this prof's classes, however I attended all his lectures for MATH 101 and MATH 209. Excellent notes, lots of examples, very very helpful. He goes out of his way to make sure students fully grasp the ideas at hand. Highly recommend, greatest prof I had the pleasure to learn from.
One of the best professors I've ever had. He's so cheerful, so much that I would go for his morning classes to cheer myself up! Made complex math really fun and easy to learn!
He's so good that people who are not even registered in his class come in for his lecture (some people had to resort to sitting on the floor). One of the best calc profs yet. Thumbs up.
Enjoyed each and every second of his lecture, he keeps everyone engaged.
Easily one of my favourite profs. His notes are amazing he keeps his lectures at a good pace and is very helpful. He is funny and cares about his students. He made a hard course enjoyable!
Dragos is amazing. He makes class something to look forward to and is so funny in class too. I recommend him 110%!
Favorite prof of 1st year! Class was fun, enjoyable, and challenging. His notes were spectacular, and he made everyone smile. Run to his class; most of the people who attend aren't registered in the class (like me), so the room was above capacity every single lecture. He was granted a new lecture theatre to accomodate, but it was still full.
Favorite prof in first year, im taking math 209 with him in 2nd year. At the end of the course, I was pro at this course and received an A, people from other classes come to his class.
Great Prof
His lectures are amazing. He gives you exam hints all the time and literally wants you to do well. A great prof. overall.
Really awesome prof and actually pretty funny. I looked forward to his lecture. Weekly online assignments which were fine. Tests weren't too hard. He has a European accent but I personally didn't have a hard time understanding him, and for those that did on occasion, he would gladly repeat what he said
In the first week there was an apparent problem with Dragos' class... There were not enough seats for everyone to pack into the 200+ lecture hall. People would be sitting on the stairs, desks, etc., and there is nothing poor to say about him. Great prof with the same examples that others use but he puts it into a better context compared to others.
coming off a rough semester in math 100 i thought that math 101 was gonna be a disaster but there is something about dragos that makes you love math and do well in it. If you listen closely to him and do what he suggest you will definitly end up with an A+. Also if he notices alot of people struggling with assignment problems he solves it in class!
that accent tho 333
He stopped the class and gave students time to rate him, interesting professor
Hilarious lecture! Such a funny and responsible guy! Amazing and cute! Love him! He is always willing to help!
one of the best, if not the best prof in the math department.
Dragos makes math 101 both entertaining and understandable! If you do manage to get a spot in his class, you better be there at least 10 minutes early if you want a seat as students rush to his class. If you review his notes, attend his review sessions and do the practice finals you will do well!
Excellent prof! Very passionate and teaches really well. One of the best profs
Drago's explaned everything perfectly, he is loved by students and respects everyone. His class average is always above all the other prof's. He cracks jokes and makes learning fun and interesting.
Amazing prof. By far favourite of first year. Taking Math 209 with him this year and looking forward to it.
In the few short weeks that I've had him, I became entranced by his aura. He teaches math so superbly that it feels like a piece of joke.
His notes are on point. Very funny guy.
HARD COURSE. Great prof, if you want to do well hes your best bet at the university of Alberta ,and his lectures are definitely memorable.
Dragos is one of the best profs I've ever had. He teaches a tough course, but does his best to help out with homework questions and material that students are struggling with. He is entertaining, kind, and thoughtful. If you have the misfortune to have to take math 101, make sure it's with Dragos!!
Pretty good prof. Not as in love with him as some of the other students were, but he's able to explain things quite well. Generous marker
Dragos' communication skills and enthusiasm for what he teaches makes him stand out from every other professor.
Amazing professor! He truly makes math 101 bearable.
literally the best math prof I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend :D
Dragos is the man. He is very understanding of other students and respects them. Jokes around just the right amount but always knows what he's saying. He gives free review sessions which are absolutely amazing and always get 350+ people attending them. Made that course alot easier than it is
He is one of the best math profs at uofa for sure. He makes integrals so easy, if you mess that up, no one can help you. Although he goes just a tad fast when doing a problem, his examples are spot on and can actually help you do webassign/written assignments unlike some profs who give weak examples and expect us to magically know how to do it
Dragos is a great prof who keeps math interesting and gives helpful examples in class. Highly recommend.
If he is teaching 101 or 209, and his class has space (good luck), then you cannot go wrong by taking his class. He keeps students awake and focused. The material he teaches is found difficult by most, but if you follow his notes, your golden. These lectures are memorable and a privilege so cherish them!
He is a phenomenal teacher, he is very passionate about math and very hilarious. His classes are super fast but very well explained and useful. Tests are not the hardest questions but the material is quite hard. He is great one on one and he cares about his students success.
Dude is a straight savage, reps his colors in class. I was scared that he was going to bash in a kid for wearing blue at one point. Good prof though, Compton Crips for life. If you're like Saltine Bud you probably won't need to go to class. He sat at the front every day eating saltine crackers and listened to music and probably crushed out an A. C
Terrible exam writer
Literally a god
This course was difficult but Dragos makes the material bearable and is good at explaining it. Although he moves quick through the material and gives easy examples in comparison to the assignments and exams he does prepare you well for the exams! Midterm is usually easy in comparison to the final! Remember to study for it!
Best Professor I ever had at U of A. Very knowledgeable. Always managing to explain the most difficult concepts in a cristal clear manner. Wonderful class!
Great Professor. His lecture is fast, but he explain quite clear. He would give a midterm and final exam review for free. Can't expect better.
Best Math prof at the U of A. Very helpful in his office hours. Great notes. Examples done in class tend to be old exam problems so he prepares you well for exams. Easy to understand even with slight accent. Has won numerous teaching awards. There is a reason why people sit in his lecture even if they are registered in another class.
Definitely by far the best prof I've had in University. He's prof you must take in your lifetime. Legendary prof with legendary lectures, you can't miss them.
This man is the best professor the UofA has in their math department, easily. Math 209 is an extremely difficult course to grasp, but Dragos' notes are designed perfectly to help you succeed in the examinations. He is quite hilarious, and just an all around caring and well respected guy. 1 hour after registration opened, his section was 1/2 full.
He is very passionate about teaching math. gives lots of examples, often very funny. Notes are well organized and enough for preparing for exam.
He's is hands down the best prof at u of a. You MUST take him for any math course. Theres a reason people come to his lectures even when their not in his section! His notes and examples are the best for exams, he's got a nice sense of humor, and he really cares. Love this guy
This man is a literal God. By far the best prof at the u of a, maybe even the world.
This professor makes a hard class really enjoyable. Props to him.
DRAGOS IS AMAZING! 11 out of 10. Don't miss his lectures. They will change your life forever. He is a living legend. LOOK AT THIS! He's super adorable and his jokes are educational too. Will make your uni life 101 times better.
Engaging and helpful lectures. Does lots of examples, many of which are similar to assignment questions. Really charismatic and has a passion for teaching. Great prof.
Dragos can be overhyped. He is in fact a great choice for a prof but when you're struggling with concepts, his messy writing and accent (sorry) can make it extremely hard to keep up with his fast paced lectures. HOWEVER, once you get a grasp on the material, his notes are great, lots of examples. He holds a review and tells you the exam basically.
Hands down the best professor at the university. His lectures are always full of enthusiasm and the notes are very effective. The review sessions for preparing for exams are also very useful. Definitely would take again.
Pros: Enthusiastic, very good at explaining integration, does a helpful review session Cons: Goes very fast, writes messy, makes many mistakes, doesnt upload or make printed notes Overall, a pretty good choice but not a class that you need to absolutely switch into at all costs
Enrol in this prof's class if you have the opportunity to. He is very engaging and makes a subject like math rather enjoyable to learn. He gives very good examples and emphasizes the material that is tested on. It's a must to come to class since he doesn't post the notes online. He also gives a midterm and final review session thats really helpful.
final exam is super hard
Dragos is pretty average at teaching for a math prof but it's all the other things he does that make him good. He holds a review session every exam for all math101 students while collecting money for charity and put me on the full version of webassign even though I never paid. What a g
Two things about him: 1. He is poor(mediocre at best) at teaching. He goes VERY VERY fast and overall stimulates a chaotic environment in his lectures. He doesn't have the best handwriting either and also makes quite a few mistakes. And worst of all, he doesn't post neatly written online notes. 2. He has awesome review sessions, good man at heart.
Hands-down one of the best professors Ive had at U of A. Dragos is an inspiration, very caring and passionate about teaching. In his lectures he pulls out the material that is important for exams and he is very clear about what you need to know. He makes the material easy to understand through excellent chosen examples. Overall amazing teacher.
Best math prof I ever had! His lectures are interesting and easy to follow. In-class examples are super helpful for understanding the material and doing assignments. Moreover, he's so passionate about math, inspiring me to love math too. Very easygoing and helpful outside of class when you need help with assignments.
A absolute god.
Best Guy
Best math professor at uofa. Lectures are very good and he gives lots of concrete examples which are sometimes similar to assignments and exams. No need to use the book. Funny person and class is very lively. Definitely recommend.
Amazing professor. Makes math really enjoyable and explains every concept so well and does good examples, yet lectures never feel rushed. Very kind and helpful in office hours as well. Will miss him for sure. If you are able to, take his class!!
Dragos is great! Sometimes his lectures lack smoothness due to mistakes or confusion, but oh well. He is passionate and obviously cares a lot about his students. Math 209 is tough! You'll definitely want to do well on the midterm because after the midterm the course gets much more difficult and the final was very challenging.
Dragos was definitely my favourite math prof so far. I had him for Math 101 and as soon as I saw he was a 209 prof I signed up for his class. Make sure in class when he says something is important and you should know it, memorise the formula/example/etc that he said is important because some version of that question will come on your midterm/final!
People stay up until the minute registrations for his class open for a reason.
Daddy
Dragos cares for his students and is very energetic. He makes the lectures interesting and has a lot of energy. He also explains the concepts very well.
Terrible professor
Dragos is a very entertaining professor in lectures. His notes are pretty good, but good luck following along if you miss the lecture, even though he does post his notes. He is excellent during office hours, although his social skills seem questionable at times, he is good at explaining problems and wants to help his students succeed.
Dr. Hrimiuc has a wonderful personality and enthusiasm that he brings to all his lectures. He is highly knowledgeable about his classes and fully explains all concepts.
Literally the best math prof I've had in my entire life! Yes he has a bit of an accent but it's not that bad and he writes everything anyway. Also I had him for the online switch in winter term 2020 and he transitioned super smooth and recorded lectures with handwritten notes on an Ipad. Honestly what a Gem!! 110% will be trying to get again!
"Daddy Dragos" has a bit of a cult of personality around him, as you may be able to tell from these comments. Nevertheless, they aren't undeserved - he is a good prof, occasionally humorous, but the course is very hard. But, if you're taking it, it is mandatory for you, so good luck! Definitely a solid choice for a hard class.

Was very kind. Provided many notes and would answer questions well. Genuinely cares about his students and sees their grades as a reflection of his abilities so he really does try his best to teach his students and confirm that they understand.
Absolute gem of a professor! Super sweet and his notes are good (and legible) if you can't make the class.
Great prof. Really good notes and he posts them after class filled out with any example he didn't get a chance to cover. He takes pride in having his classes do well on exams so you know that he cares about teaching. Definitely recommend if you have a chance.
Dragos is actually incredible, he teaches in a way that made everything click for me. If you pay attention and ask questions when you start to feel confused, he'll guide you back to the right track immediately. You have to take a class with him, I definitely will try to again.
Dr. Hrimiuc is a real gem. He is exceptionally caring and an excellent teacher. He leaves you with a good set of notes, and most of our exam questions were similar to examples done in class. He does have an accent, but he is still quite easy to understand (if anything, it adds to his charm). Highly recommend.
Dragos is a fabulous prof who actually cares about his students and wants them to pass. He is the only reason I actually made it through the class and I wish I had him again. Don't be afraid to ask him for clarification on topics and make sure you understand EVERYTHING he does when solving examples.
Well respected at The University of Alberta, speaks volumes.
Amazing professor who really cares about his "Dear Student." Lectures were very useful, and he was a very engaging speaker.
Dragos is definitely one of my favorite professors. He's considerate and cares about his students. I found the lectures pretty engaging and he made the topics pretty easy to understand. His notes are good and the in-class examples are very relevant to the assessments.
Dragos is a decent professor who cares about his students, however his expectations are crazy high. The preclass quiz questions were extremely difficult, sometimes taking hours. This is on top of a ~20 minute preclass lecture. I could barely understand what he said at his lectures, and he could improve on class notes alot. Preclass notes were nice.
I never watched the preclass videos but his lectures were amazing and very helpful. He was very engaging funny and caring. The only downside was the assignment questions were much harder than the in-class sample problems, but I found exam questions to be a good balance between the in-class problems and the homework questions.
Great professor. Made the course as easy to understand as possible and always had a great attitude in lectures.
This man is hilarious and he also teaches the material effectively. In a department filled with some very monotone profs, he is the ray of sunshine that you seek on a cloudy day. His lectures resemble a comedy show at times but you somehow leave with a better understanding of calculus compared to what you entered with. His skills are unmatched.
fun and interesting to listen to, which makes it easy to focus during lectures. He's also very clear and takes the time to help the students understand. I don't think there's a better math prof than him, he's up there with Faruk and the other legends
BEST MATH PROF YOU CAN FIND. His notes and examples that are in the lectures are very clear and match exactly what is being tested. He never shy to tell you exactly what will be in the midterm or finals. ATTENDING HIS LECTURES ARE SO IMPORTANT. I attend every lecture and got 90+ on the midterms.I just slacked off in the end and finished with B
He made the challenging material easy, and is hilarious and engaging.
He will probably be the best prof I will have in uni, funniest guy and actually cares about you as students. He's the course captain for 101 so he gives lots of tips for exams. Notes are easy to follow and make sense, just have to get used to his accent and cursive writting but after that its amazing.
Dragos is the embodiment of mathematics. Once he started talking about finding the volume of my grandmas potato a knew that I had to attend all his lectures. Dragos cares for his students gives fair exams and cares for your success. Everyone loves dragos.
Honestly Dragos was not horrible, but he was just not it for me. He doesn't wear his mic and prefers to scream across the room to teach which makes it quite hard to understand what he's saying specially that he has a pretty thick accent.
Dragos makes things very engaging, attending lectures was a must in order to succeed. I did not go to any of his office hours but would imagine he'd be very helpful. He made math suck a little less.
Gave great advice for exams, and told us what examples really mattered for assignments, not to mention the man is so funny and he made lectures engaging. Great guy.
He is a very funny prof. He genuinely cares about his students and their success. He points out the important areas to focus on for the midterms and finals. He has nice notes and gives extra examples. The notes and practice are very useful for the midterm although the finals are a bit tougher for everyone. Overall, he is a great prof 100% recommend
Mr. Hrimiuc is a really amazing professor as he provides and walks through all of the worked examples during the lectures, which really help us answer questions given to us in the Pre-class quizzes, Written Assignments and Online Assignments for MATH 101. The kind of problem is that he is quite old so his tone is also quite loud.
He was the best prof I have ever had. He is so caring and was a big help during office hours. He is also very funny. Did very similar examples to the 2 midterm and finals in class.
Honestly one of the best professors in the entire university. Genuinely the nicest guy I have ever met. Absolute genius at teaching, his examples notes, and logic are impeccable. Take his class, whatever class he has, absolute legend. Dificulty is worth it. Understand the material you do not need to practice.
Math Goat
I love Dragos and his lores. He is funny like a monkey
He's the Wayne Gretzky of Integrals, the Michael Jordan of Series, and the Pele of Parametric curves. In all seriousness, Dragos is the GOAT of intro math. His lectures are amazing and he explains topics in a simple and easy to understand way. He cares so much about his students and is genuinely hilarious. He sounds like Borat and it's way too fun.
Very knowledgeable, doesn't wear a mic which is a problem when sitting in the back rows. despite his loud voice, it was still hard to hear him clearly
He's probably the greatest math professor out there. He's got great, engaging lectures, and relates math directly to life. He's the high priest of calculus, and taught us how to baptize integrals. I never had goosebumps in a math class before Professor Dragos when at the end of the course the entire class stood and gave him a standing ovation.
The 'Math GOAT' Dragos makes lectures super engaging. His clear explanations and relatable humor made a tough subject a bit less painful. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for extra practice alongside the free textbook.
ABSOLUTE ROMANIAN GOAT OF THE MATH DEPARTMENT!! He is the savior. If you rate him below 5 you need help.
Simply amazing. Lectures are so engaging and he explains things clearly and teaches so well. You should feel lucky if you have the privilege of being in Dragos's class.
The most legendary professor. If you work hard in this class, you can expect to see your efforts pay off. That is indicative of a class conducted by an incredible educator who loves to see his students succeed, rather than fill a bottomless pit of ego like some other professors who want to fail you for their own satisfaction. Truly a great man.
HE IS THE BEST PROF EVER. IF YOU SEE ANY CLASS WITH HIM TEACHING , TAKE IT EYES CLOSED. YOU WILL LOVE MATHS AFTER STUDYING FROM HIM
Dragos' teaching betrays his reputation. I found his lectures disorganized, filled to the brim with mistakes, ended late, and he often blabbers for 50 minutes. Very few examples. Half the class didn't show up. Dragos' teaching makes this class more difficult than it has to be. Despite this, he seems to care about our success and is ironically funny
Probably the most overrated prof in ECE. Lectures are just him shouting out loud his already posted notes, and then fumbling through examples. You gain nothing by attending lectures instead of just reviewing the notes yourself. Homework is ridiculously difficult and takes ages to finish. Class is uncurved leading to a 2.5avg for a third year class
It's so hard to understand what he's saying, it takes more energy to do that than to stay awake in his lectures, and then he's just not a good prof. He would rather rush through 3 examples in the last two minutes of class just to prove a point and "impress" the students instead of actually helping them understand. I would not recommend this guy.
PIECE OF JOKE!!! :)
Honestly, Dragos isn't that bad. He cracks jokes to keep class interesting, but his lectures can be boring and hard to follow. He skips steps in examples and jumps to answers with little to no explanation. If you prefer detailed instruction, attend another professor's lecture. I went to Faruk Uygul who explained his work clearly and thoroughly.
My biggest issue was that he would leave examples completely unfinished and skip important steps, leaving everyone extremely confused and frustrated. He would crack funny jokes but I want to actually learn math over my prof asking us if we pulled huzz on the weekend. I ended up switching to Yaskin's class which is more bearable.
Very hard to understand his accent. After a point I stopped attending his lectures because they weren't helpful, however I revised his notes afterwards and that helped.
The absolute GOAT. M309 is a very content dense course, so he goes through things pretty quick. Will need a little revision outside of class to fully grasp concepts. Go to his office hours, it's super helpful. Also cracks jokes to keep us engaged. Personally I didn't have a problem with the accent but I can see how some people might. 10/10 prof tho
