Easiest teacher in the world - try and take a once a week class - all you have to do is give a speech every week and you end up with an A. He even does the whole "bring food" for a potluck type-thing. WAY EASY.

Proffesor Knows how to teach people, he is not like other proffesors that because they had it hard they will make it hard for you. His teaching techniques makes you take his class over, and over and over again...... Thank you proffesor Lobenstien

Lobenstein was great, really graded fair and was very supportive of the students. He teaches not just to be a good speaker but also how to be a supportive audience for those that are not comfortable w/speaking.

A lot of outside assignments. He gives an outline for you to use for all of your speeches. Pretty easy. I was dreading taking this class, but the class was fun(when I wasn't preforming). As long as you try your best, he'll give you an A. Very sweet and funny teacher. Great class.

I was nervous just like everyone else but in some way he makes it not so nerve wrecking to get in front of. hes very down to earth and has alot of funny stories (especially with his pigeons). hes very chill person and a chill grader too. outside assignments but they are all worth if for this teacher

At first I was a little apprehensive about this class, but it was the by far the FUNNEST CLASS I've ever taken at Moorpark! Professor Lobenstien is the BEST!!! When I originally read all of his ratings I thought I would like magically love speech or something, but really wasn't like that, so don't get your hopes up. He was a very nice guy and his class is SUPER easy, but I still hate speech (not that I am blaming him). He is for sure the way to go for SPCH M01 at MCC.

Professor Lobenstein is a nice guy and an easy professor to take for speech if you're looking for an easy A. He drones on a lot about boring topics such as pigeons and makes attendance mandatory if you don't want to write the final paper due the last day of class. Before attending this class I wasn't a big fan of public speaking. Prof.Lobenstien really made it comfortable to do what you had to do. Took him over the summer. He is intense and tries to scare people the first day but it makes sense. Excellent professor with a ton of wisdom, wants everyone to succeed. The class I took with Professor Lobenstein was my first on-campus class. But I'm so glad this was my first experience! He made sure the class environment was supportive, comfortable, and non-threatening. His lectures were interesting, and he clearly explained how to perform our speeches. He also allowed us to choose almost any topic for our speech!

This was my third attempt at completing a speech class. All previous attempts were haulted by personal fear and lack of understanding. I took Professor Lobenstien's Intro to Speech class this semester and was pleasantly surprised. His first day tactics were a bit scary (don't be late) and he comes off strong but he sets reasonable expectations of what's ahead in the semester. He's clear and direct but also very comforting and creates a supportive environment, which makes it easy to present speeches. The topics for speeches are fun and keep the classroom interested. Show up, present your speeches, and follow the format and you'll get a high grade. Loved this class, would definitely take it again.

If you need a speech class and are nervous about talking in front of people than I would take the class with Professor Lobenstein. Really vocal guy, very animated - I took this class being very nervous about speaking publicly, now I feel I can tackle almost any speaking assignment - such an applicable course and intuitive professor. 5 speeches, no quizzes tests or any other surprises. I wouldn't recommend any other teacher than Drew.

Great Prof! Very fair, kind, funny, and clear. Gives great guides for speeches, he's very open, doesn't discriminate + allows imagination. Gives good, clear feedback and answers qs. But seriously do not be late! Be respectful + participate. But also just enjoy... It's a fun class! Totally recommended for anyone willing to put in some work.

He's is a great teacher and is very encouraging to all shy students or who have trouble with public speaking. If you show that you actually tried in compiling your speech and practice (because it does show) then it's an easy A. Word of advice do not show up late or miss any classes that way you don't have to do the extra assignment.

Take Drew Lobenstein if you are terrified of public speaking! I was seriously dreading this class, but Professor Lobenstein really wants to make you feel comfortable speaking in front of everyone. His first couple of weeks antics really help you get to know everyone and to understand we're all in the same boat! He really is truly inspiring!

Professor Lobenstein's public speaking is definitely the class to take. I did it over the summer and only 5 speeches around 6-8 mins. Follow the rubric of each speech. If you show that you prepared, used mostly eye contact, and visual aids you should get an A. You don't have to be that great at speaking, as long as you TRY, LISTEN, AND PARTICIPATE!

I took Oral Communication at Oxnard College. Everyone hates public speaking, but Drew got us through it no problem. Just don't be late because he will start asking you a lot of QUESTIONS and then the WHOLE CLASS will start LOOKING AT YOU making you the CENTER OF ATTENTION which is probably your least favorite place if you are taking this.

This class made me want to throw up. I was so nervous I thought I would have a heart attack. The teacher is amazing. It won't seem like it at first, but keep going, SHOW UP EVERY DAY, and do the speeches. The summer session is shorter but more involved. He knows people hate this class and are nervous. Find a friend in the class to help.

Drew is the absolute BEST professor hands down to take for speech!! They do NOT get better than him. In 2 years and 18 unit semesters; his speech class was by far my favorite class I have ever taken. He is an amazing person and professor, and knows how to create a team that respects one another, so we ALL were very comfortable speaking! Take Drew!

He is constructive and if you put in the work you can get an A easy in this course. Just show up on time the first night and be open to the course and put in your best.

Lobenstein is a very easy going speech teacher. He wants everyone to get an A. He isn't very clear with his directions, but I think that's why he grades pretty easy. He is very inspirational and understands that people are very anxious about public speaking. He tries his best to try and make you comfortable talking infront of your class.

I took the four week summer session. Best professor I have had, he did a show and tell exercise that bonded the class making it easier to speak in front of them. Great professor always there after class to answer questions. All quizzes were take home, if it was the normal semester the quizzes are open note.

Drew Lobenstein is an amazing treasure at Moorpark College. If you have an open mind and are not self absorbed he will change your life. If you listen and are ready to learn some very important skills that you will carry for the rest of your life, he will and can teach them to you. BE ON TIME!!! Drew is an amazing human and teacher! Lobenstein is one of the best professors I've taken. Speech makes everyone nervous, but this class was very helpful. He makes everyone feel comfortable, and as long as you try your best you will pass. I recommend Lobenstein to anyone, really awesome man.

Public speaking is something most people are not comfortable with - professor included. He was very encouraging and fostered a family like environment. DON'T BE LATE! Grew the most in this class by far. Would take him again for sure.

Professor Lobenstein really cares about his subject matter. He's a speach teacher so he loves talking. His lectures can get kind of long and tedious but he does have some really cool stories! Going to class is must but if you put in the work and show up it's not a hard class. Did not spend a ton of time outside of class doing homework.

If you are looking into taking a speech course, you need to take it from Professor Lobenstein. He will help you build your confidence and learn a lot about yourself. He is empathetic and really wants the best for and from his students. Two outside activities and about five speeches total. I cannot recommend him enough.

If you dread or fear public speaking, go through professor Lobenstein. Easy going, makes the class feel comfortable, and a fair grader. Make sure to arrive early to class! 4 main speeches, two quizzes, and if you have perfect attendance he will void the final paper.

Prof. Lobenstein's method of teaching is effortless, unstructured, and effective. Perfect attendance is incentivized. He fosters a safe, closed environment for expression and mistakes. 10/10 would take again.

Before Professor Lobenstein I had bad anxiety while speaking in front of a class. He creates a great atmosphere for his students to feel confident and secure when performing. My abilities to speak in front of people has improved greatly and I can't thank him enough. He wants you to succeed and really does care about his students!

My whole life, I have been terrified of public speaking. this class helped me overcome that fear. The teacher is hilarious and has lots of cool stories. If you present your speech on the first day he grades more easily so don't put it off.

Professor Lobenstein is truly one of the best professors I've had. Coming into this class I was absolutely terrified to get in front of the class and speak. By the end I had a lot more confidence in public speaking. He gives great feedback that truly helped. Do NOT miss a day of class and you don't have to do the final assignment (writing) part.

I was really dreading taking this class so thats why I kept prolonging because speaking in front of people is not my strong suit. Prof Lobenstein is by far the best professor you will EVER take. Public Speaking is a nightmare, but his class format is so supportive that you will leave his class confident and like your classmates are family. He is crazy passionate about his students and social issues. He is hard of hearing so speak up. Make sure you prep.

He seems like he doesn't know what he's doing half the semester and talks for hours but when it comes time to delivering the speeches, you won't regret taking him. He's amazing. You don't need the book.

Professor Lobenstein is a must take class in public speaking. He is simply an inspiration and I enjoyed every class with him. There are about 6 speeches to complete the whole semester and they are honestly so easy. As long as he sees you care about what you talk about, you will get an A.

THE GREATEST GUY! If you are at all nervous about public speaking, this is your professor. He is incredibly kind, and very interesting, love his pigeons. He was a pleasure to have as an instructor. At first, you might think he doesn't know what he is doing, but you will see by the end of the semester, he had it all planned perfectly!

I called him the bird man. He loves pigeons and wants to be friends with his students. Be patient, don't over think. If you show up for every class then you get an A in the class.

Have a public speaking fear? No, he won't cure you. But he WILL give you the environment to learn how to be more confident with yourself and communicating to others. This guy is a blessing to the Moorpark staff. He really does embody the teaching style of, "You get out what you give in." Not an automatic A, but give a little effort and be rewarded.

This prof is beyond amazing and very caring! He makes the class so comfortable. He may come off lost and boring at first but there's a secret to his madness. I took the summer class and i regret not taking the longer semester. I literally talk in speech format now! lol Take him but NEVER be late, trust me. Very easy class. Oh and speak loudly.

Professor Lobenstein has been one of the best professors I've taken in Moorpark College, he makes the speech class feel safe, I have social anxiety and just the thought of taking the class made me feel sick, but he makes everyone feel so safe and by the end, everyone felt almost like family so I didn't feel judged, I got my first A in his class.

This man is amazing! He really does love his pigeons, call him the master of birds if you will. Would spend a whole lesson showing and talking to us about these amazing creatures. Honestly, didn't learn much but there isn't too much to learn about public speaking. He means well and is a great instructor, just be patient and he'll get to the lesson.

I loved Prof. Lobenstein. Seriously one of the best teachers I've ever had. Every minute was entertaining. He really wants you to do well and succeed. Speak up and you get the credit. I hated public speaking, but he made it enjoyable and had great feedback.

Great professor honestly a gem. Makes you feel comfortable and gives good feedback. He is definitely a talker but for a reason, if you pay attention its actually speaking techniques to prepare you for upcoming topics. Just be patient, participate, and show up and youll get an automatic A. Coming from a nervous speaker this class was easy breezy!

Professor Lobenstein is a very kind man, but kind of tends to ramble in his lectures. He gets side tracked in his teaching very easily which can be a little frustrating. I don't think that he is cut out for online class because we had many technical difficulties within this class. I think in-person classes are more his element.

He isn't the best at using Canvas. Sometimes it was hard to understand what he was saying due to the quality of his mic over zoom, but my class set up a GroupMe chat. He gives good feedback after your speeches, provides PDFs of the textbook, grades for completion, and gives you an automatic A on any assignment if you show up to every class.

Professor Lobestein has been the most helpful teacher! I loved taking his class. I wished it wouldve been in campus but he was so great over zoom. I recommend to anyone looking to take a communication class. He is helpful, kind, and very caring. He makes you feel comfortable. 10/10 would recommend!

Omg. Hands down the best best professor at Moorpark. Drew is caring, sweet, and wicked smart. I took him for public speaking and he understands the fear. I took him over 2 years ago so this was in person. One girl began crying because of her fear of public speaking and he stood and hugged her till she felt better. PLEASE TAKE HIM!

This has been my favorite class so far at moorpark. Even online, Drew brings such a caring and thoughtful energy to the class. He is super nice, all of the speeches we did were fun to do and everyone in the class was so supportive to each other. Few assignments other than speeches, grading is lenient, and he accepts late work.

This class was extremely easy, very good for a first college class experience. He makes public speaking not hard at all. He gives good feedback, but doesn't grade any assignment, other than the ones in person, until the end of the semester. He's a fascinating dude. He does makes the homework seem unnecessary to do, though.

He is getting up there in age so his computer skills are a bit lacking at times. He has trouble clearly using canvass and creates assignments late. He has fantastic lectures and is a super interesting person with lots of wisdom. Perfect for a public speaking professor.

A wonderful professor, though he could use some assistance with digital tools due to his age. The assignments are straightforward, primarily consisting of videos and text responses in lieu of traditional quizzes. There were some challenges accessing the textbook and viewing videos on Canvas. He's very hands-on but could benefit from tech support.

He's really into bird haha. As long as you participate in class that's all that matters and you will definitely get an A. Also if you really want him to like you share stuff that's personal (if you're comfortable with it).

He spent a great deal of time ensuring we were comfortable with the environment we were speaking in which helped an awful lot and gave a generously light workload. He absolutely goes on long tangents but they are entertaining, and in retrospect, were good examples of "off the cuff" speeches. Absolutely would take again!

You haven't truly experienced Moorpark College unless you take Drew Lobenstein the Wise. Never have I seen a teacher cultivate a community so masterfully. I had some personal trouble in this class but I would never say it's hard. Be prepared to hear the best stories ever told by a human.

Professor Lobenstein is a caring and engaging instructor. The class is very easy, with minimal assignments beyond the fun in-class speeches. Though he struggles with technology, the online format works well, and unstuckstudy was a helpful supplement for study prep.
