Really knowledgable, knows just about every aspect of marketing. Make sure you go to class(he will give pop quizzes)! Test aren't too bad, but do go to his review sessions and study.

He could sell a pair of binoculars to a blind person. Very enthusiatic and care about his students.

Curved big time. Quite a few people got A's. My class was once a week - he missed it several times. A very interesting speaker. Tells a lot of stories. To prepare for tests, go to the study sessions and read his powerpoints.

Love him! Wants all his students to pass! Gotten in trouble by MKTT department for giving too many A's, but he does not care! Really cares for his students!

I'll be graduating this December and can tell you this: you will not find a professor better than Dub Ashton. Dub is a brilliant man who knows marketing inside and out and, above all, has a genuine interest in seeing his students learn and succeed.

I have Dub for an 8AM FBC class and to put it simply, he is probably the only instructor Ive had that early who didnt make me want to go back to sleep.

Dub's a blast! Unfortunately, the class is terribly repetitive when he is not telling jokes or talking about his wife spending all his money. I think Dub is a great professor, and would take him again in a heartbeat... I just didn't like the class; it was too easy, and like taking M&C all over again. But if you have to take the class, take Dub!

Dr. Ashton for the most part is a pretty good professor. He is very knowledgable about marketing and has had a lot of experience. The lectures tend to be pretty boring though. Go to the test review sessions! He is very helpful if you go to his office to talk to him. Somehow he learns almost everybody's name in the class.

He made the class very interesting. When the semester was over, I really knew the material.

Ole' Dub is a character- he is organized and always on time- he has a lot of experience in the business world. If you are the type that is just worried about getting a good grade and not learning a thing- DON'T TAKE DUB- I think he is the best teacher I have had in 4 years.

He's the kind of professor that tries just a little bit too hard to be funny. Can spend an entire class period talking about his wife and encouraging students not to get married. It's not the best class ever, but I can bear him.

Dub is extremely funny and tells good stories. He has review sessions on sundays before his tests and everything he says in those is on the test. Take the class. you won't regret it.

Dub is not that bad. If you can sit through his ongoing stories about himself and his family then you will be fine. He gives great reviews the day before the test where he tells you everything that will be on test plus he gives attendance points every once in a while. Very easy and helpful teacher if you go to class and pay somewhat of attention.

He repeats stories often but they are true. I know this because he was my dad's grad student at the U. of Ga. and recently my prof. He promotes himself quite alot but, that's just good marketing. Don't mis-understand me, I'm not sold on him. We don't even get along anymore, but he is a great teacher who helps both in and out of class.

Everyone says that Dub talks about himself too much, but it's relevant to what he's teaching. The guy is a very good teacher and he wants students to do well. Don't buy the textbook...I never used it.

Greatest teacher. He makes a point to remember everyones names and tries to get to know you and help you succeed. He loves to talk about his family but defiantly made it interesting. Test are fairly easy, know the vocab no matter how much he says he doesn't use the book. Take Dub, won't regret it.

he is a very nice professor and give out easy exams! the grade he curves on exams is based on the highest grade in class, so easy to make an A even though the % of the actuall grade is not an A. He is also helpful. However, the exam contines 80 questions which is too long for me at 730am in the morning.

You learn nothing you hadn't learned in Markets & Consumers the year before & all Dub cares about is bragging about how he's the god of marketing. If you can put up with being bored and annoyed take this class for an A.

Dub is one of my favorite marketing teachers. His class is reasonable and not meant to trick you. If you attend class and the study reviews you will have all of the answers. He suggests two hours of extra studying in addition to the review sessions in order to get a good grade. Overall, great teacher, I would take anything he offers. Don't buy book

I took a couple of mktg classes from Dub in the late 80's. He had a knack for relating mktg principles to real world experiences. He also imparted in me the importance of being creative and unorthodox in your approach to solving mktg problems. In retrospect, I learned a lot from Dub, and I've been very successful in business to date. Thanks Dub!

Dub may be a nice guy, but lectures are not very organized. Get used to confusing powerpoint slides (the same ones everyday), and test questions that could be any one of the four answers. If you think like he does, you will do great, but if not it will be difficult for you.

I had him this semester, and I personally struggled with his class because his lectures contained a lot of material very quickly. He's very personal and gets to know everyone, and name calls throughout the whole class. Attendance is taken by random pop quizzes, and he does them very randomly, so go to class. Any chance you get, TAKE DUB!!! Best professor I've ever had. Took his class Summer 1 session and we had 3 test, and 12 quizzes. quizzes where fine and the test as well and he curved all 3 test! Just take him, you won't regret it!

Very well-respected professor. Teaches MKTG with a passion and truly cares about his students. You have to work for an A, tests are difficult and class is mandatory. Large amounts of material on every exam which makes studying difficult. Uses prior experience in the business world to relate MKTG3433 to the real world. Tough class, but well worth it

Yes, his tests are hard and he might end up teaching you more about life than actual marketing but he is a gem. He showed up every day to class early to shake hands with you as you walk through the door and learned everyone's names within a week, despite being older and a cancer patient. I've graduated 10 years ago and he is one of the most memorable professors. He teaches you stuff that will help you in the real world and challenges you to think. I remember the students that would skip and only show up on test days; he would mess with them by introducing himself. That was hilarious.

Without exception, Dub Ashton was the most influential and inspirational professor I had at University of Arkansas. Without his personal interest in my success as a student, I don't think I would have made it to graduation.
