This class is a lot of effort and homework. The notes we were given were unclear. He'd put videos on from the early 80's that talked about what the earth would be like in the 90's so they seemed rather pointless.

Good class if you are interested in learning more about the world~fun labs, but some slackers can ruin the group labs

He's really cool and funny. The tests are medium hard, though 2 pages of notes helps! Definetly worth taking.

Duke is a pretty professor. This class was interesting and fairly easy. There is quite a bit of work for this class, but he gives plenty of time and opportunity for in-class work time.

good teacher really knows his stuff, if you show up everyday you should get an A. Dont need the books, Dont wait till last min to work on projects, study in groups. will learn a lot on this topic

I took the accelerated BIO 201 and 202 and it was well worth it. The tests are tough, but he gives out practice tests prior and doesn't pull any trickery. He is a fair and genuinely wants everyone to succeed in his classes.

The class was more interesting than I thought it would be. There's a bit of work to do during labs and some outside of class but he is very helpful if you ask him questions. He sticks to the class syllabus so there are no surprises.

Duke is a great teacher, I took the accelerated bio 201/202 classes. Lots of work and you really need to stay on top of it if you want to keep up. Practice tests are provided and a lot of the questions are on the actual test. Not an easy class but if you can stay on top of the workload you'll do ok.

I took the accelerated A&P classes and they were the toughest classes I've ever had. The teacher was really good and will help you in class. The class is mostly self taught, don't expect detailed lectures. Don't take this class unless you can spend at least 20-25 hours a week on it and don't get behind on your lab book!

I thought Duke was a great teacher. He was SO interested in what he was teaching that it really involved you. Review for tests was hardly existent, but you just needed to read the chapters and know the vocab and other random facts; the tests weren't too bad. Labs are a must and you have a lab notebook grade that counts for a lot. Would recommend!

Very interesting class! I learned so much about the real world and the problems we face. Fun labs, but don't plan on missing any. He is a good teacher and actually will answer your questions.

Duke is awesome, he loves what he teaches. Put the time in (at least 25 hrs per week) and you will do great.

I highly advise taking a science course with Duke as the professor. Every class is fun. Only negative about the class is the lab book. Do NOT wait until the last minute to complete your lab book. Finish each lab/organize your lab book after every class.

He is a really nice guy and super funny but he was very vague about things. The lab notebook was a little hard to understand and when given projects he told us to "pick a topic" but didn't get into details about what exactly is a good topic. The only thing that was super clear to me was his "links" page. Man he loved that thing.

Good Class. Teacher is very helpful on projects and lab work if you ask him. If you go to class every week and read the book and online labs & stuff its not that hard. A lot of lab work is in groups, so make sure you get good lab partners who show up each week.

A&P is not easy but Duke guides you through it. Impressive since the class did not involve lecture , he is just really organized and executes everything clearly. His tests ARE difficult but he provides other point opportunities.The manual is your holy grail.He tells you exactly what you need to know & you actually learn! + I found him to be funny.

I love Duke. Wish I can take him for every class.

I took this class as a hybrid class, advance paced, self taught. He makes you do a lab notebook with is amazing when having to learn everything on your own. Every class there is either an Exam or Quiz. He loves giving you additional resources to aide you in learning. Tests are pretty tricky and you absolutely need to read all the chapters to pass.

I took his bio 201 8 week class and it is a lot of work. You will have to work on his class at least 20 hours a week. He does give a practice test that is helpful before exams also what helped me with exams is using quizlet to help study. He has a lab manual that is VERY time consuming so don't wait to do. I do recommend him.

Great Class if you really want to know more about WILDLIFE. its half online so better save some time to do the work at home. Some of my lab group never showed up and were always pissed cause they were behind. Just be prepared show up and do the lab work. Fun Class!!

Took this class last year and loved the online format with weekly labs. Dont miss class or youll get behind. and make sure to get a good lab partner, avoid the slackers and cheaters. He lets you use notes for the tests and a look in the book for a couple minutes, a real plus! I recommend him over some of the others...

had to work for my A, but good class. lots of extra credit. Read the book and the labs and its pretty easy. tests are right from labs and chapters,no surprises and he lets us use notes during the test.

Just finished class, pretty sure I ACED it! Yeah! its basically self paced with labs, so don't blame anyone if your not doing the work. LOL .All the assignments are easy, and due dates are posted at the beginning of the semester so there are no surprises. Took a while to figure out the self paced format but once I did it was easy. Don't get behind.

Thought this class was online, but it had weekly labs to do in class. Lab notebook was UGH! but test were right from book. He lets you use book during tests. One of the best classes I've taken at Pima so far.

Overall good class, hes clear of his expectation. The lab book is important for a good grade.

Awesome class. Loved the once a week lab meeting. Its a web plus lab class so you need to read the book on your own. Everything is right from the Book. Lots of extra credit and some Fun Field Trips. Good Class!

He teaches online and D2L classes with labs. Something to do every week. I liked the way he sets up the class and projects. Don't get behind. Get a good lab partner and watch out for people who never show up and want all your work. Pretty easy if you can pass an online kinda class.

Took a couple of his classes, 115 and 105. He teaches online and webhybrid labs. Good classes. Just skim the chapters before class, read the labs and do the extra credit for an A. He always helped me and my lab partners with things.

Taking his 160 class now. Gives alot of extra credit. Let's us use a Notesheet for the tests. Gonna take his 115 class in the fall.

I liked this class. Loved the field trip. Do the extra credit. Had a good lab partner that made it fun.

Environmental bio class was fun with a good lab partner. liked the extra credit credit and joined the STEM club for some more fun times at Biosphere and Desert Museum

Good class! .i liked the labs and that he tests right from the book. It's a online hybrid class so don't expect lectures. Lots of extra credit.

Took the 8 week class and passed with a B . It's alot of online work and exams. My lab partner was always mad cause it's a lot of work, buts it's only 8 weeks. No lectures in his online-video based classes but he's clear about everything and always answers questions.

He really knows what he's talking about and I'm glad I took him. Everything is right from the book and lab manual. Get good lab partners and the class will be a Breeze.

Like the way the class is set up on D2L. One of the better classes I've taken. Everything is clear on the syllabus and online. Just signed up for another class from him. Easy to follow the instructions, do the work, and get an A.

Took this wildlife class and learned so much. The Desert Museum field trip was dope. Glad I hung out in Bio115 with my buds. Go everyweek and it's cake.

Busted out an A in this class! He's a decent dude and offers extra credit and helps out if you ask him. He'll let you use notes on the tests then explain your wrong answers for some more points.

Good class. You'll need the book. He let us work with a partner on lab reports and let us use a note card on tests. Always helped me and my partner and gave us extensions on tests and things when we asked him.

Needed one more science class to graduate and kept putting it off. Glad I took this one. Just read the book and don't get behind on labs and it wasn't that hard to get an A.

I had a great experience with Duke! He is very thorough in his online lectures, and answers all questions you may have. It is easy to understand and obvious he puts a lot of thought into his curriculum. If there is any questions, he never fails to contact you immediately. He even includes video lectures you can watch! I highly recommend him!

Loved the web hybrid format. Lots of work in the 8 week class but he helps out alot if you show up & do the work and ask . No lectures but the class is not set up that way and he is very clear with online lectures and powerpoint and lots of practice tests. If you show up and do the work every week its not that hard, but dont slack off.

Good but fast eight week class. Tests are right from the book. keep up on labs with a good partner. He puts lots on online material each week to help out with everything. One of the Better A&P classes since I like online classes. Really liked the STEM club that he has every week with lots of cool things in the new makerspace for class.

Took the 105 online class first 8weeks. It's ALL online so a lot of homework. Something to do each week. Was a good class though. Test and quizzes are easy if you read and study before each one. Gotta A- dawg!

Took him for Bio105 online. Great class but the 8 week class kept me busy. He always answered emails right away and has open chat sessions for good help and feedback. Wish he taught more online classes.

If you're taking an online bio class, go with this professor! He's really an awesome teacher, one of the best I've taken at Pima. The tests are easier as long as you actually study. His assignemts are easy but some can be time consuming so make a schedule and stick to it, because you will be reading a lot.

Not gonna lie i didnt know what to expect in this class but im so glad i took it. I liked it more than i thought i would. Hes a really good teacher you can tell he likes his students. Its not a traditional class but you do have to show up and do labs each week. I'm taking his other classes next semester.

Lots of work but not everything is graded so heavily, so missed work doesnt always have such an impact on grade. Helpful. Provides PLENTY of extra credit thats actuallly possible to get done. Not so strict on how work is done, but rather the effort and attention put into it.

Lots of extra credit available, makes class fun.

Took Duke for 8 wk Bio 201 class . He's a real nice guy . Alot of interactive assignments but they are fun . You will need to be able to work in groups otherwise you will not pass because the labs require partners. He offers extra credit so take advantage of every single point available. Tests are hard but manageable . Also took him for Bio 202

Took Duke for his Bio 202 web hybrid class. Definitely alot to learn in a little amount of time . Good amount of homework and a research paper to write but it's manageable. The exams are straight from the book . Alot of interactive activities to do in class so that's fun , get a good lab partner you will need it . Definitely a good AP class to take

Good class but 8 weeks isn't easy. He gives extra credit and can tell he cares about student grades. Lots of reading. Let's you take exams twice.

Class was online because virus closed school. Duke make it a good class with lots of help and some extra credit. Just dont get behind. Recommended if you want a good teacher.

Professor Schoonmaker taught a wonderful and informative class that taught me much more than I was expecting from an environmental biology class. All subjects taught in this class were important to learn as an average person and none of it felt unnecessary or overly complicated. All assignments and modules were easy to follow and easy to complete.

Took the class last semester. 8 weeks class takes a lot of study time but can do it. he helps a lot and always answers questions.

Glad I took the class with this prof. always helped me and my lab partners. and he helped with my recommendation letters for other school apps. Recommended

Easy class as long as you keep up the work and stay on top of your discussion posts. Class is set up so the modules are the same each week, easy to fall into a routine for completing work.
