This is the NICEST woman you will ever meet... she is a tough teacher as far as tests (multiple choice) but grades labs fairly and offered some extra credit. She is really hot too!

TOUGH TESTS! Labs are fun, gives extra credit opportunities. Cool person and very willing to meet with students. She is very intelligent and knows her material but has difficulty breaking it down for the rookies. Will not give copies of Power Point notes.

Knows her material, flexible W/ students schedules if u need additional help. U can study hard for tests but, the way she rewords her tests from her notes is very confusing, hard to study. Nice lady though, labs are fun & she helps u if u need it w/out hesitation. She makes things interesting.

She is an excellent instructor.She works very hard and if you want to succeed in this class you will have to work too! I made an "A" in this class one of the few that made an "A" This is a tough class but if you really follow the Power Points and bring a tape recorder to Class you will get an "A".

Very helpful...will set aside times to study or go over anything that was discussed in class...also doesn't test over anything that isn't given on powerpoint!!

I recieved a "B" in this class, but i had to work my butt off for it! Not an easy class. Although, she is very helpful when you have questions. make sure and take notes... pages and pages and pages of notes

Dusti is an awesome instructor she will prepare you for advanced bio-courses and if you are wanting to be a nurse or doctor,Dusti is the best to get you prepared. This is college and you have to work place this class center of your schedule and you will do great and get in a study group and keep your book after you finish you'll be glad you did.

Dusti seems to teach on a very high level. Although, she is very helpful if you are confused on a topic, she tries her best to help. Her lectures are the powerpoints (she will give you on blackboard). Test are very hard and at times the questions are tricky. I received a C & studied alot. My class average was a C. Very little extra credit.

Dusti is all business when it comes to Biology. If you are looking to coast, you had better look for another instructor. If you want a solid Biology foundation for futire coursework in Health Sciences - then this instructor is for you. You will have to earn your A !! Great teacher !!

Her exams try to trip you up, multiple to choice to letter E with similar terms!If you like writing reports go for this class!If you like lectures in lab time.No getting out ofclass orlab early.There are good with the bad&stress shes willing to help. She does have X-credit avialable and you learn alot. Shes also very nice.So you will learn or drop.

At first, the class was a bit overwelming, but after getting use to her teaching style I'd say.. you have to work hard and pay attention. She's makes sure you take what you've learned with you.

I think she knows her stuff. I had a very difficult time in her class. You will need to beprepared to work ur butt off. She is very avaible (has a office) to ask questions or be tutored. Don't think of leaving lab/lectures early. She uses every last min.

This class is not easy at all (tons of writing, never get out of lecture early), but Dusti is a GREAT teacher. She really knows her stuff. I worked my butt off and I ended up with an A. She does offer a lot of extra credit too.

Pay attention and read the material and the note but she is a great teacher and very bright. She will help and answer any questions. Gives extra credit, which you will want to do, but I would highly recommend her.

Dusti is extremely available to help w/ studying - even met w/ several of my classmates before huge test. LOTS of lab homework and you need to stay on top of all assignments. Class was not easy, but informative. She also provides extra credit if necessary. Need to come to class prepared w/ notes from BBoard! Teaches off of those.

She is awesome. Very helpful and as long as you pay attention the class before the test you will get an A. she is pretty easy but you have to do the work.

Dusti is a wonderful professor. She makes biology fun and interesting. She is very helpful, and always lets you know what will be on the test. I would highly reccommend her to anyone.

She is AWESOME! Read the Guide tio Writing to help you write labs and learn to graph. Just follow the format and use it! HARD class, but she is very fair with grades.

She was awesome!! Her class is not an easy "A" for sure, but she is a great teacher and if you take notes and study them.. you'll do great! She does make you write short essay's in Lab but their not to bad. She is very understanding and you leave with a bowl full of knowledge! Good Luck!

What a great teacher... Dusti explains concepts in several different ways, so you're sure to understand. She's really got a gift for teaching. Wish I could take her for more classes... she really knows her stuff. Pay attention and ask questions. She's more than willing to help. Sweet lady!

Going back to school after double-digit years since last coursework. The class was tough and I'm still working on my study habits. The help is there if you'll just ask. Unfortunately I waited longer than I should have to ask. I took the summer accelerated course. I know I would have done better in a regular length course. Passed w/a B!

Dusti was a great teacher! She gives you opportunities to earn extra credit. She reviewed with us for tests and tests were hard but you need to be able to apply concepts not just memorize facts. I took the summer course and it was fast and furious but she is very helpful if you ask. Would highly recommend her and hope I can take her again.

Great Teacher! Tests are challenging so listen to lecture and study power points. Tests are MC. Study sessions for tests really help. She does give extra credit which helps a lot. Would love to have her again as a teacher. I dreaded going to the class but ended up enjoying it.

She's one of the best teachers I've had. Her foundation in Physio helped me tremendously in Biochem. I hardly used the book at all. I definitely recommend her.

Very nice and smart. Labs are fun, some are long but some not too long. SHe will help you if you ask. Use the Guide supplement to graph and write reports. It is worth it!

Took this in the summer 07. Dusti was very nice, her only fault was she seemed a bit nervous in front of the class at times, and she can be a bit scatterbrained, but can't we all?! Her labs were interesting and fun. She's very helpful, just ask. She gives an extra credit lab and we did a ec field trip as well. Had to work hard but got a b. Take her!

honestly, i was afraid of this class at first because some say that the tests are hard and i don't do well on tests. the tests are kinda hard but her powerpoints tells you what questions might be on the test so just remember to do those questions. dusti knows her subject and teahes with a passion. she's very helpful. i'm sure glad i took her.

She is a great teacher. The tests were over the study guides. She will make the time to make sure you understand. The tests were pretty easy.

She is energetic and knows the material well, but she is not afraid to say "I don't know". Her tests are all off of study guides and notes, but they are easy if you put effort to it. I actually learned Biology this time. She is worth every penny. She will help you whenever you need it, and guide you through until you get it. She's the Captain!

She is a terrific teacher, not an easy class.If you attend, read, go to lab and study you will do just fine.You will learn the material and remember it.She is a great teacher and will give you the foundation for any medical or science program

Mrs. Sloan is an outstanding teacher! She is also attractive! I took her class for 8 weeks in the summer and it was difficult. If you study the Powerpoints, 98% of her tests are over the powerpoints. The other 2% are over the labs. But she gives EC, and is extremely helpful one on one. I struggled but I ended up with a B.

Dusti is awesome! I had her for bio for majors and physiology and made A's each time! you dont even need to buy the book because the tests come straight from her notes! you do have to study though, but other than that it's an easy A!

Dusti has been a blast for cell culture! She's very informative and not afraid to tell you if she doesn't know something. She is willing to sit down and work things out with you 1 on 1 to help clarify things. No book useage but all tests came straight from labs and notes she gives you! I'm going to miss this class! Glad Im taking her for Micro tho!

Dusti is an awesome professor! She knows a lot about microbiology and makes the class really interesting. She gives a study guide over each chapter and tells you what is going to be on the tests. If you go over the study guide you will do great. Dusti is a very likable person; funny, down to earth, helpful and fair! I'd recommend her to anyone :)

I absolutely LOVED her! I took her class cuz of the good reviews! So very worth it! Obviously the lab test was hard (not her's) but she didn't make it worth many points because of that. Class was so easy as long as you studied. She answered every single question politely and knew exactly what she was talking about!

Had her for Micro, all-around great prof. Yes, the tests can be difficult, even "hard". My issue was with the amount of material covered per test. I believe there was 1 test where I had around 20 pages of notes to study! I managed to make an A (barely). If you are interested in the field or really want to learn the material,then take her class!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Feel very prepared for the nursing program. I had a death in the family and very sensitive to everything going on during the semester. Not an easy class, but it you want to learn and apply material, she is your girl. Very passionate about micro and understands her students have lives too! She is AWESOME!

Took for microbiology. Great professor. Tests are pretty hard...multiple choice, fill in the blank & essay questions. extra credit available. lab exam is hard but I didn't take it since I had an A. Took in the summer. very fast paced. Labs are time consuming but interesting. Must identify an unknown disease..can be hard but she's a generous grader

I AM TAKING THIS CLASS FALL 2011, SO FAR SO GOOD. THE CLASS IS CHALLENGING, NEED TO MAKE SURE TO READ THE NOTES, ANSWER THE STUDY GUIDES AND FOR THE TEST SHE PROVIDES A SECTION IN THE NOTES THAT SAYS EXAM MATERIAL. IF YOU STUDY THE EXAM MATERIAL YOU WILL GET AN "A" IN THIS CLASS. LAB IS A BIT BORING AT TIMES. I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER.

Sloan is AMAZING! She is very clear, very helpful, and very interested in the subject. Show up every day because she adds 5 or 10 point quizzes in at random, but they are completion grades normally. Study guides for tests are helpful and labs are fun. Do the work and pay attention and youll get an A. Choose her over anyone else!

Fantastic professor. All test material comes from the study guides and Ch. outlines, so there's no need for a textbook. Lecture can be boring at times, b/c she reads directly from power points. Many opportunities for EC. Labs are easy. there is 1 lab test. overall great class!

AMAZING teacher!! Micros not an easy subject but love the way she teaches, gives u study guides and exam material questions.. Just study and put effort into the class and ull do good!! Can't wait to take her for physiology!

I recommend Mrs S. Grade sys is based on labs, pop-quiz, online labs, and test (both lecture and lab) I made an A but I had to do all the extra credit (max 30 pts) which you have to work for. I did not buy a book. Test based on notes and lecture. Will give point for attempts at assignments as long as you show up. Not allow to enter if more 5 late

I took this class in the summer and it was very fast-paced. My summers are pretty busy so I made a C, but I know I could've at least made a B if I had studied more. Great teacher who knows her stuff. I'd take her for micro if the class wasn't already closed.

The thing I like about this professor is that she is very organized. Puts up what you need to get done every week on blackboard. Also has a sense of humor which is nice. She is very lovely and is studying for a PhD, so she knows what she's talking about!!! Labs are cake. Study the notes and study guides and you'll do great! Don't really need txtbk.

Prof. Sloan is the best. She gives you everything you will need for the week the Friday before. Tons of extra credit. Tests are hard but if you study, you will do find. She is sweet lady. TAKE HER, TAKE HER, TAKE HER!!!!

This class is very difficult and demanding, however this class is perfect to prepare you for a science or medical degree. This is the kind of stuff you will be doing only tougher. You cant get a degree without knowing anything. That being said if you take this class be prepared to study and attempt to understand the material!

SHE IS AMAZING! Be prepared because her class requires a lot of dedication. She offers 2 extra credit options, one being metric systems and other is an option lab that is also metric conversions. Tests come from notes AND study guides. She encouraged and helped me as MUCH as she could to raise my grade. Ended with a B! You will learn a ton! :)

Professor Sloan is very smart, helpful, approachable, & timely. She gives 2 reviews before tests, allows access to recorded lectures, and offers extra credit both on tests and for grades. Her lectures are from the PP with the assumption that you read the material prior to lecture. This class is amazing, based mostly on material studied!

She gives you all the materials needed to make an A in her class.. you just need take time to study for her tests. she gives you study guides for each test. Just study and you wI'll pass!

Professor Sloan is the best science teacher I've had at TCC. Lectures + exams are clear and easy to follow. Study guide and notes are available to help you prepare for each exam. As long as you study from them you should make an A. She also gives a bunch of extra credit opportunities. I highly recommend her if you have to take Human Physiology.

Dusti is amazing!! I made 97%-107% on each test. She gives you study guides, notes, and PowerPoints to study. Show up for class because you can earn tons of extra credit! She is super nice and is willing to work with you. I made a 104% in her class!

A few opportunities for Extra Credit, take them up if you can. Lots of reading and studying. Hard class but can be done. Dusti is a great teacher, very responsive to questions/concerns. Made it a fun class.

Dr. Sloan was amazing. She truly sets you up for success. The class has tons of information, but she is a very hands on teacher. She is quite reasonable - lets you use a notecard on lab exams, and provides a study guide for lecture exams. You have to learn the material, but she gives you every tool to succeed.

Dr. Dusti Sloan is a wonderful person as well as professor. She makes every effort to help us succeed not only in the class, but in obtaining internships and experiences in the scientific world. Her Cell Culture class was probably the most fun of any class I have taken. I learned so much! She is the best!

Dusti is a gem of a person. She's very sweet and enjoys teaching the subject. Her labs are interesting and and fun to do. She's knowledgeable about the subject and when it comes to grading she is pretty lenient and understanding. Very compassionate and would take again.

Dr. Sloan is a great teacher. She gives you all the tools you need to succeed in her class. If you show up, put in some effort and study the material SHE PROVIDES to you, you shouldn't have a problem getting an A. She even does hour long reviews the day of tests and comes in early ON HER OWN TIME to help you.

Dusti is probably my favorite professor that I've ever had. She learns all of her student's names within the first two weeks of class and genuinely cares about all of her students. There's in class assignments almost everyday, so skipping is not an option. You def have to work for your grade, but taking her class it worth it. I've learned so much.

She is a great professor and is really passionate about physiology. The only thing I didn't like about this class are the long labs. Have 5-10 point quizzes in class and some quizzes on Blackboard. Tests are mostly multiple choice but does have essay questions & fill in the blank. Should be able to pass the class with an A or B if you try.

Honestly take her class! tests can be a challenge you have to study for hours but with the extra credit and usually easy labs you should get a good grade. attendance is mandatory because she does activities that you'll get points for it. She starts exactly on time so you cant be late or you can also miss points. worth it

She is a sweetheart. I had her for Human Physiology. She is very knowledgeable of the subject and I enjoyed her teaching style. She's very passionate.

Dr. Sloan is a great professor. She is very knowledgeable about her subject. Lectures are sometimes boring but pay close attention and write down everything she writes on the bored, anytime she writes on the bored it is important and on the next test. She gives extra credit points and does quizzes in class for and extra 5-15 points each.

She is great at giving various techniques to learning the material. Gives ample amount of extra credit. She hosts 2 study/review session before the tests in which she covers exact materials on the exams. She also provides guided notes, practice questions, and online recorded lecture to listen to again.

Professor Sloan is an awesome teacher, she acknowledges that Physio is a difficult class and goes out of her way to make sure that you are understanding the material. She will do reviews before the tests on her own time to help ensure that you are prepared. If she writes something on the board, make sure you take notes on it. Highly recommend!

Good professor, but would recommend taking this class AFTER anatomy if you can. Lectures werent the best ive had, but she definitely tells you what will be on her tests specifically during lecture. Spot on study guides for every exam, no homework for labs. If you do the study guides for exams and show up it should be an easy A.

Dr. Sloan is an expert in Cell Culture. Her class is challenging but rewarding. Labs are done every class period, so falling behind in your Lab Notebook is not recommended. If you study her notes and PP you will do fine on tests. Full participation in lab is a must.

Dr. Sloan is very helpful and full of advice. I wasnt a fan of her lectures because the were PowerPoints from the book. I preferred her own explanations. Lots of extra credit. Very accommodating to your schedule. She even called me and walked me through a whole lab. I wont say its an easy class but if you like science it cant be easy.

Professor Sloan was awesome. Physiology really is hard but the way she taught us and the amount of extra credit she gave us got me an A. I took physiology and anatomy in one semester and enjoyed it!! Give her a shot!
