He looks like a big teddy bear. Really good at keeping class discussions interesting. I HATED the reading, but ENJOYED it after we discussed it in class. He will most always compliment for your comments "very insightful. Nice. Good contemporary connection." He occasionally says "any more questions? Alright, I have a headache. Class dismissed" :)

Great teacher and great class. He makes class interesting and if you aren't happy with a grade you got on a paper then he will work with you to rewrite it. Very helpful and just a nice guy!

Great class. Dustin is a great teacher who can portray the material in an effective way. The toulmin essays he makes you do are actually really helpful teach you how to write a good paper. He gives full credit on papers if you try hard and turn them in on time. Highly recommended, great class, great teacher.

professor Crawford is by far my favorite professor. He is very intelligent and really makes you think outside the norm. He is hilarious and very helpful if ever you need to talk with him one on one. Work load is perfect and he likes putting emphasis on your strengths and show you how to use those to overcome your weaknesses. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

One of my favorite professors I've ever had! He's an easy grader, but I still learned a lot from his lectures. He's really willing to work one-on-one. He even brought me extra outside material to help me with sources for my final paper. The only complaint I have is his interest in bringing his personal politics into the classroom.

Dustin may be my favorite professor. His class does require some time and effort, but he grades pretty leniently and made my English 2010 class interesting and enjoyable. Excellent teacher. I did the 7 week summer semester, and I was very pleased with the course. The format: assignments were due each week that built to a larger research paper. It was a great learning process. Dustin is very helpful and encouraging. The text he used was available as a kindle ebook for only $11 which was an added bonus! Fantastic!

I am not a writer, and I don't like english. However this was an awesome class and I enjoyed Crawford as a teacher. You need to keep up on the reading but I didn't find this difficult because the readings he selected were always very interesting and some of the best I've read. He is very helpful and tries to know his students, take it from him.

Professor Crawford is a very good and practical teacher. He could be a bit clearer on formatting instructions sometimes, but as long as you know how to google andor show that you made an effort he is very good to work with. He also will reply to your emails REALLY fast, even on nights and weekends. He is probably my all time favorite professor!

I would recommend taking his class even if you aren't an English major. His grading scale is a little unclear but he is a really helpful person when you talk to him in person. English 2010 with Dustin had been hands down one of my favorite classes taken at the university. TAKE THIS CLASS! The long research paper might be difficult to some, but it's only one paper for the semester and if you choose a topic you love, it's not bad at all! Professor Crawford has been my hands-down favorite professor. He is incredibly kind, and really gets you interested in what you're learning. No really, you're actually going to CARE about the class and class discussions! Everything was very simple, and fun! Dustin is AMAZING. Seriously, best professor I've ever had. The course, Survey of American Culture, was focused primarily on war. I was not looking forward to this course at all when I found that out but I'm glad I stuck it out. This course gave me such a greater appreciation for literature and war and I declared my major in English after.

He is amazing, but participation is key, as his lectures are small. He cares about everyone and does not want you to waste your time. You write a final paper that takes up a lot of your time but he gives great feedback. I loved this class and learned so much! There are readings at the beginning but they are not too bad. Honestly, an incredible professor. Get the textbook and do all the readings BEFORE class. Most class is spent discussing the readings, so even the harder, more confusing readings can be understood once you discuss them in class. Take notes of his lectures because those things appear on tests. Really fun professor. Prepare to discuss heated topics.

Scratch out the typical reasoning, evidence, and conclusion we all know and hate, he wants writing that comes from your actually thoughts, and he gives you the freedom to do so. be warned that if you use chat-GPT to write essays, he knows and will dock your grade. I loved this class! You will have to read but the textbook is online, so you don't have to buy it. There were some group projects but weren't bad at all and participation is incredibly important. You have a short writing assignment every week (emphasis on short), you have essays occasionally, but from what I hear he gives a fraction of the homework and assignments of the other professors. Great teacher.

He was absolutely amazing! After this class I found myself searching to see if any of his other classes count towards my degree. You read a lot of short stories, but hey, they're short. He really likes group projects, but they are fun and aren't meant to cause any stress or anxiety.

Weekly homework are discussions based mostly on pdf readings where you have to analyze what they're discussing. He is so kind and relates to all his students and cares about writing. He can meet with you based on your schedule. Get to write a paper on topic of choosing, you do have to research, write outline, rough draft and final draft, that's it!

Even if you do not like english, take a class from him. He is a great teacher and he is passionate about what he teaches. He also gives you freedom to write what you want to, no matter your writing level. He understands that students are different form each other. If you are improving throughout the semester, you will have fun and get a good grade.
