Fun professor. Very funny. Gives you handouts of his slideshows/lectures. Attendance is a grade, but going to class is fun. Read the chapters and go to class, you will do fine on the tests. You get to drop your lowest test score. EASY A!
Dr. Adams is a very respectful person. He has great experience stories to tell and has a very interesting professional background. Loved his class. Is my favorite so far!
This class was a blast! Dr Adams is great and very willing to answer your questions without making you feel bad. He is very professional in his mannerismd but he alsways adds a twist of humor at the end. Highly recommend this class!!!
Dr. Adams is an excellent teacher who is fun to listen to. He has amazing background in the field and tells the stories that keep your attention. Very clear. Favorite class!
Awesome Prof! Best class ever. I wish he would teach more classes so I can take all of them. This class will boost your GPA!
Intro to Forensics is a very interesting/easy class. He has real life experience and interesting guest speakers. He gives you a copy of his powerpoints, so you really don't have to take notes. Tests can be hard if you do not attend regularly and do not study the handouts. Take this class!
All around great, great, great. You will love it as much as I did. Im almost sad I have to leave. He says the first test is the hardest, everybody in my class did worse on the third. You have 5 tests and a comphensive final. No homework. He will give some extra credit points, but not alot. You wont need it them anyway. Just study the handouts.
This was the best class I've had in college! I learned so much and he made it so easy to understand. I loved the fact that he is who he is, but doesn't act like it! I also appreciate the fact that he wants you to get it! I just hate that all of my other teachers weren't more like Dr. Adams!
It was one of the best classes I've ever taken. If you have any interest at all in forensic science I suggest this class. Since he's retired FBI he really knows his stuff and has really interesting stories.
Dr. Adams is an excellent professor. He relates what you are learning to his real world applications. He was the Director of the FBI lab. His class is amazing. Everything is on powerpoints. Often has guest lecturers to speak about other fields of forensics. Highly recommend him.
Dr. Adams is a wonderful professor. As long as you pay attention in class his tests are easy. He was formerly the Director of the FBI Laboratory so he knows what he is talking about. He doesn't take attendance. The day after the test he spends time discussing it and sometimes gives the class points for unclear questions. Definitely take him!!!!!
He's nice and he's got a few jokes. Is very fair on what he puts on the test. I highly recommend him.
Excellent teacher! Knows what he's talking about and very knowledgeable in his field. Come to class every day and listen and you will get an A. All tests are directly from the lectures, I never even used the book!
Very easy if you go to class. His tests come straight from the lecture and power points. No need for the book.
Awesome prof. very clear with his expectations and very funny. Dont sweat this class, its fun and easy if you study. He knows everyone's name on the first day.
Very helpful at explaining the stuff he goes over. Everything on the tests are straight from lecture and his power points. He will work with you and does not expect you to know everything by detail. He gives six tests a semester and his final is not comprehensive. He actually knows what he is talking about Wonderful Professor!
Very good teacher, highly recommended. No need for the book as all test questions come from the lectures.
Enjoyed this course thoroughly!
An extremely good teacher. Asks questions of the whole class, and actually looks for answers. He WILL know who you are before you enter the classroom. He DOES take roll everyday, and he does so in his head, so it is a pretty good idea to come to class. Every lecture will be on the test, including guest lectures.
Dr. Adams is awesome and makes class enjoyable. For the Intro to For Sci class if you make an "A" you don't have to take the final.
Dr. Adams is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is brilliant, highly experienced and a genuinely nice person. I had an interest in forensic science before this class, but now I am double majoring because of this class. Don't buy the book unless you just want to. Dr. Adams doesn't use it. Make an A and you won't have to take the final! :-)
The BEST!!!
Dr. Adams is great and this course is a great fun way to kick start your time in the FRSC program. Go to class and talk to him outside of class times and he will do everything he can to help you. Not a hard class at all. He is the best professor I've ever had. Tests are straight forward and If you're making an A then you are exempt from the final.
Dr. Adams is absolutely amazing! He is so helpful and is very experienced in the field of Forensics. He's funny and makes class extremely interesting. If you get an A in the class before the final than you don't have to take the final. This class was an Easy A. You don't need the textbook- his tests are based completely off of lecture.
Great teacher. You will need to study for the tests. He gives you everything you need. Love all the real world experiece he shares.
class lectures and web content, (powerpoints) were perfect for the exams. The real world examples and his background that he brought into the class would inspire interest in the subject if you needed any help getting interested.
Dr. Adams has a vast amount of knowledge about the Forensic Science field. He uses power points for his lectures & most of what's on the exams comes from them. The rest of it comes from his lecture. He gives chances for extra credit. He gives 5 exams, but no quizzes or homework. If you don't do well on tests there isn't any way to improve grade
Great teacher! Do not need textbook at all - all test material is over his power points and lectures! He does randomly take attendance and takes away 3 points from your test grade for that missed day. Gives 5 tests during the semester, no other coursework is assigned, so overall grade is based off tests! Does provide some ex. credit opportunities.
All tests come from his powerpoint lectures. No textbook use at all. The only grade is (5) 50 question multiple-choice tests. If you have an A after test 4, you don't have to take the final. Dr. Adams is an OK professor. Show up for class and study the lecture notes to move on to the more interesting forensics classes
The class is really fun and he has extremely interesting stories.
Class was really good. I learned a lot. Make sure and print the power points off and bring them to class. Then study the PowerPoints with your notes for the test and the class will go well. :) I loved this class.
Excellent teacher, very fun and easy class. You'll actually want to go!
Dr. Adams is great! I loved this class! I didn't use the book just his powerpoint notes and I did great on the tests. As long as you attend the lectures and take notes you will be fine.
Professor Adams is one of the best professors I have ever had. He has many years of experince in Forensic Science and is extremely helpful. As long as you attend class and take notes you will get an A. I am taking him agian next semester. He has a very strict no phone policy. Be warned, I have seen him kick students out of class for texting.
This was one of my favorite classes! He was really interesting, and as long as you pay attention and take notes, you will do great on the tests! He's one of the best professors ever!
Professor Adams is my favorite professor at UCO. This was my second class with him. I wish he taught more courses! This was a hands on class so attendance is very important. Tests are mostly over his power points and class activities. You should read the book because he does throw in some test questions from the readings but not many.
Class was a bit too large, but if you are a Forensic Science major, you have no choice but to take this class.
Dr. Adams course was by far my favorite class I've taken at UCO so far. His experience makes his lectures worth listening to & class worth attending. He's AWESOME :)
He is super nice, but very slick. for a class size 150 students, he sure memomized the whole entire class but won`t call you out if not needed. sure attendance is not mandatory but he will ask you on last exam did attend class everyday. Thats why my grade drop 1 letter. but class was easy. no book needed.
Dr. Adams is a great professor! We never used the book, so don't buy it (unless Forensics is your major and you want it for that reason). The class is very interesting. This is the first year that he has given exam reviews, which was really helpful! The class size is over 100, but he knows most everyone's name. Overall, fun class, great teacher.
Dr. Adams is one of the people I have the highest respect for. He makes his lectures very understandable and if you don't understand, just ask for help. He has gone above and beyond for me to help me with everything from forensic to life lessons. Dr. Adams is always my go-to-guy
THE BEST PROFESSOR ON THE PLANET! I loved him. He uses his power points RELIGIOUSLY. The textbook is pointless. He even says in the first day of class that the book is optional. As long as you go to class every day and take notes on his power points, you'll get an A. Super easy class.
Dr. Adams was the former FBI Laboratory Director, so if there's any professor you'd want to have for this class, it's him. His stories are amazing, and he gets you excited to take more classes in forensic science. Tests are easy if you study for them. If you're on the fence about this class, take it!
Listen and take notes and you will do well in this class. If you miss a day, you loose a lot of information. Very important to take notes and pay attention. All exams are based off of his lectures. Hardly used the book. I would take one of his classes again.
Dr. Adams is awesome. The content in the class is interesting, and if you go to every class and take good notes the tests are easy. The lowest grade I ever got on a test was an 88 because I missed two days of class. He posts all of the powerpoints online before class. Didn't use the book. This class isn't as graphic as other FRSC courses.
Such an amazing professor! So passionate about his career! Very helpful, and will just hangout with you just to talk. FIX YOUR CHAIRS
Hands down the best professor I've ever had. I found myself actually looking foward to his class and was bummed on the days that we had guest speakers. His lectures were always interesting, and he was always available for one on one time. Provided reviews for every test.
Dr. Adams is one of the people I have the highest respect for. I looked forward to his class. His lectures were always interesting, and always willing to help you. His stories are amazing, and he gets you excited to take more classes in forensics.
Dr. Adams is a really cool and funny guy. His lectures are awesome and interesting and you won't want to miss class. You definitely don't need the book. All the test questions are from his lectures, I made an A on all tests except one I made an 88. The stories he tells from his experience in the FBI are super cool!
Dr. Adams is hands down the best professor at UCO!!! He knows everyone's names before the first day of class despite having 150+ students which shows that he really cares about all of his students. His lectures are really interesting, and if you study the Power Points that he posts on d2l, the tests aren't hard.
Amazing class if you're interested in the subject. I would love to take this class again.
Love this class! Dr. Adams knows his material and encourages class participation during lectures. Only 3 test, if you attend class and pay attention (not hard because he is very interesting) you will do well. Takes random attendance through a short question. Who better to teach this class than the former director of the FBI Lab..
Hilarious professor. Easy A class. Definitely take him! You just need study his slides. If you score well on all the midterms, you wouldn't need go for the finals.
Mr. Adams is a fantastic professor. He is the the former director of the FBI Labratory in Quanaco VA so he knows what he's talking about. The goal of the Intro class is to get people interested in the class so as long as you go to class, you'll pass easily. He really wants every student to succeed. I would definitely take agin.
Dr. Adams is a wonderful professor!! He is very passionate about what he does. Always tries to be enthusiastic and tries to engage students in lectures. Do not buy the book, he only quizzes over the stuff he lectures on. If you have the chance to take his class, do it you will not regret it! He is hilarious!! "Fix your chairs!"
Dr. Adams is such a sweet, funny, and kind soul. He has many stories and they are quite interesting. I never knew how much I genuinely loved forensics until I took this class. Make sure to not miss any classes because attendance is graded for. there are 6 exams and they are true/false and multiple choice, make sure to study, bc then it's a cakewalk
Dr. Adams will always be one of my favorite teachers. I learned a lot and have grown a deeper appreciation for forensic science!
I enjoyed this class for the most part. I enjoyed the material but, at times, I felt he was a little unrealistic. He kicked a student out of class for being on his phone, and another student got in trouble when she tried to leave class early for a meeting and he practically yelled at her in a class of 100+ people. Good professor but expects a lot.
He's a very good guy with a lot of experience. Make sure you push in your chairs. Don't leave before class is dismissed, even for the bathroom. Don't bring drinks other than water.
He is way overqualified for this job. Consider yourself lucky. Study for the tests, don't eat or use your phone during class, and FIX YOUR CHAIR.
I took his Intro to Forensic Science course as a self paced class, but it was clear through his video lectures that he was passionate and very experienced! I would have loved to take this class in person!! I absolutely recommend his class either in person or online! His class reassured my love for forensics and the study of it.
He's a great guy and he has so much experience. I loved taking his class
Dr. Adams is an AMAZING professor! he truly cares about his students and their success. I wish he taught more than just Intro to Forensics but he is an amazing professor and makes sure you understand!
Dr. Adams is the BEST teacher for Intro. Former head of the FBI Lab? He knows what he's doing. He is open to questions inside and outside of class. FIX YOUR CHAIRS. The chairs and phones will get you in trouble. Easy class! Lectures are nice and simple and interesting. Loved all the guest lectures too.
Dr. Adams is awesome! His lectures are great and filled with awesome stories from when he was in the FBI. You do not have to go to class but it is much easier if you do, also if you don't miss class and do good you do not have to take the final
Dr. Adams was one, if not my favorite professor that I have taken so far. As long as you show up to class and pay attention during lectures, it's an easy class. He tells you everything that will be on the tests.
Best professor. Explains everything perfectly. makes it easy to ask questions.
Best professor. Explains everything perfectly. makes it easy to ask questions. All around a great lecture class.
Dr. Adams is a phenomenal professor - and UCO is really fortunate to have him. As the former director of the FBI Lab, and former FBI Agent, his lectures are packed with interesting material that you won't want to miss - attendance is integral to getting an A as well. Very genuine professor that visibly cares about students and Forensic Science.
Best professor ever! Honestly the class was pretty easy, and he is a very caring guy. I ended the semester with an 89.7 in his class and he rounded it up to an "A". He drops your lowest test score from any of the first 5exams, but the final he will not drop. If you have good attendance and an "A" in the class, you won't have to take the final.
Such a great professor to start off with in the forensic field. Get to know personal cases he worked on along with one of the most experienced to teach you the intro.
The class is lecture based, but he makes it fun and easy to understand. His tests are really easy if you study. Make sure to show up regularly, because he does activities to check for attendance.
He's a great professor. Just pay attention and print the PowerPoints before class to take notes. If you follow along with him during the lectures you will NOT need a book. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are worried about the large class size, don't be. He will know your name.
Dr. Adams is a seriously amazing professor. He has tons of experience in forensics as well as a great sense of humor. I wish more professors were like him.
Dr. Adams is amazing, his lectures are interesting and he's hilarious. At the end of the semester, he lets you exempt the final if you meet certain criteria for example, never missing class with a combo of some other things. Take notes or print out the slides ahead of time which he makes available on D2L. I wish more professors were like him.
Dr. Adams is one of the kindest professors that I have ever had. If you study the lecture slides he provides, you will do exceptionally well on his exams. The class only has exams and attendance points. He drops the lowest test score, and if you have an A in the class by the time the final rolls around, you are not required to take the final.
BEST. PROFESSOR. EVER!!! And for goodness sake, DON'T bring anything other than water to class, and don't be a snot nosed obnoxious athlete who disrupts class. He will toss you out QUICK, male or female!
Dr. Adams was an amazing professor. He makes his lectures interesting. I would recommend either printing off the slides and taking notes on those or taking notes on scratch paper and studying them. Exam questions come straight from his lectures. Also, Dr. Adams is one handsome man.
His lectures and tests are very straight-forward. If you pay attention in class and take short notes + print out his slides, its an easy A. Attendance is taken randomly, not during every class session but bear in mind hell know your name and face even before classes start. Most importantly, fix your chairs!
I took Intro to Forensics over the summer and I absolutely loved it. Dr. Adams is an amazing man to learn from.
Learning from Dr. Dwight Adams was incredible! His lectures are so entertaining as you learn from his experiences/cases in the FBI. He makes learning very easy and fun and his tests are super easy (especially if you study) I would take him for every class if I could!
He's the best lecturer I have EVER taken. He explains everything with so much detail and knows so much about forensics he can pretty much answer every question you have on your mind. Just show up, listen, take notes and pass with an A.
Dr. Adams is a great professor, he is SUPER knowledgable and can answer any question you have. His lectures are packed with info but very interesting and keeps ur attention throughout class, he also has funny jokes throughout the class. If you're not there he will know, there isnt a roll sheet BUT he knows EVERYONES name even in big classes.
Best lectures Ive ever attended. He explains things well, hes super funny, and his classes are so interesting. It would be a mistake not to take him if youre majoring in Forensics.
I didn't really enjoy the class but Dr. Adams is really informative! He really knows what he is talking about and wants to see you succeed.
By far my favorite professor I have ever had. Dr Adams frequently shares stories from his time in the FBI and brings in guest speakers. As long as you show up, stay off your phone, and fix your chairs you will be fine.
He is such an inspirational and interesting teacher! He teaches from his incredible experience and knowledge rather than a textbook, which he suggests you don't need. He KNOWS everybody in the class so he WILL KNOW if you miss a class. Do not be on your phone at all. Super easy material, and be aware of the wasps in the fall, it's quite funny.
Super nice guy! He may look and sound intimidating, but he's very sweet! Great lectures, especially if you have interests in Forensics. Don't miss classes, take notes, study, and you'll get an A! Minimal extra credit but he does provide some, and they're easy! It won't hurt your grade. Super humorous and interesting! Definitely choose him!
Learning from Dr. Adams was honestly such a great experience. He gets to share his own experiences while also being extremely humble. Would highly recommend taking any of his classes.
Dr. Adams is one of the best Forensic professors. His lectures are really interesting and will talk about his times in the FBI. If you attend his lectures then you will get an easy A.
I had to take Intro to Forensics online due to the FSI program being evaluated so Dr. Adams had to focus all of his attention on that. I had opportunities to meet with him over the semester and he has so many interesting stories and he's super informative. If you are an incoming freshman taking this intro to frsc then you are so lucky!!
Dr. Adams is wonderful. Even though this class has been only online recently, his lectures are still great and he is always willing to talk to students outside of class. He is simultaneously humble but also proud of his accomplishments and those of the forensics faculty members. As long as you do the work and study the class is pretty chill.
This class consisted of 8 modules with a test and 1-3 quizzes each. That's it. While some of the questions are a bit tricky and they are timed, the assessments are still pretty easy as long as you watch the lectures and videos. Even though I'm not a FS major, I still found the material interesting and liked hearing from multiple FS experts.
This was a great class. It was self-paced, which I really enjoyed. His modules were great too, learned a lot. Easy! Definitely recommend taking this class for credit and to learn cool stuff!
Dr. Adams is by far my favorite professor. He has charm and will try to make class exciting. There are lectures every day so be prepared to take a lot of notes, but the criteria is not that difficult to understand if you pay attention and study. He has a lot of knowledge and experience and encourages feedback and questions.
