This man's lectures are so great that you will be so thrilled to sit in the front row that you won't mind the occasional spit. I took him twice and don't even need psychology for my major. Don't leave NSU without taking his class!!!
Without a doubt, one of my favorite professors at Nicholls. Seriously thought about changing my major to Psychology because I loved his class so much. Be ready to hear about his dogs, though!

He is the reason I changed my major to psychology. He is the funniest, most inspiring prof. I have ever had and 2 years later I still remember almost everything he ever said. I HIGHLY recommend his class!

outlandishly funny! He can make a bad day turn good. I took him in the summer2004 and he was the first impression of Nicholls profs I got... I will never forget the pigeon... lol... old white head is great!!! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
VERY INTERTAINING he is a great teacher that is hilarious and very clear on his subject matter class is never dull and i would recommend you to take him even if you dont need the class for your major
Always late for class...doesn't cover material well...questions on tests are made by graduate students. Overall, didn't learn much about anything but his dogs.
He was awesome! He is really funny and gives awesome lectures. You are guaranteed not to be bored or uninterested in his class.

Awesome professor. He is able to keep your attention with ease and is definitely hilarious. I highly recommend his class if you have to take Psychology, even if you dont have to take it, do it anyway because he is just that funny.
He's funny and very intersting..the class is never boring. Only drawback are the tests. Not hard, but some of it contains questions that we hadn't gone over. Still, he makes taking the class worthwhile.
AWSOME teacher...very interesting..makes class so fun, tests are a little confusing but he is always willing to help, will talk a lot about his pups but the stories always pertain to the lecture.

The Old White Head !! He is the kind of teacher that loves to tell stories espically about his dogs and also about sex. Old white Head loves talking about sex but really it relates to everything that we discussed in class. His tests are a little tricky and confusing. But I do recommend him for anyone who needs to take a Psych class.
he is probably the only reason my major is still psych. he is a very fun, interesting and easy going professor. his test may nbe harder than you think because he doesn't make them, his grad students do. TAKE BOUDREAUX FOR PSYCH 101. you will not regret it. you will learn a lot about psychology.
He is a great teacher. The best teacher at NSU and very funny. Never a dull moment in his class. His test are kinda hard but don't let it fool you. You'll end the class happy.
Do not sit in front row. Pay attention to his hunting dog stories you are good to go. Read the newspaper daily. Test are rough but read the book.

Would it kill this man to show up on time just once? 20 mins late every day kind of adds up. I pay the man $400. The least he could do is show up.
Very Very funny. Class is intresting and he has a good sense of humor. He knows the right things to say to keep you intrested. The only thing is we only had a midterm and final in the class, so watch out!!
Really Funny! An all around fun class. I actually looked forward to this class everyweek. Whatever you talk about in class, don't study for the test, cause it won't be on it. His test don't have anything to do with what he teaches. SIT IN THE FRONT ROW! If you get to know him he'll give you a good grade!

he IS the reason psychology is my still my major! Even though he loves to tell stories its still a great class to have. Beware of his tests! It doesn't really matter how much you study b/c it won't really show too much with your grade on the test but you'll end the class pretty happy =)
Awesome class. He explains most of the material in class, but make sure you make the readings or you'll do poorly on the tests. Read as instructed and do the note cards and it's an easy A.

WOW! This guy is THE BEST teacher I've ever had. I took a half a page of notes and got a B in the class. He lectures ALL the material and he's so charismatic, funny, and passionate about what he says you will NEVER forget ANY of it! I'm upset he's retiring soon...he's one of the best teachers there are.
Very funny. Loved this class. Very, very easy. He just gives a midterm and a final. Not hard at all. He's always late and he lets you out early all the time. I wish he wasn't retiring!

Very interesting. Makes examples off of real life, like the hunting labs that he trains. Make sure you study the people and terminology. Has graduate students make tests, so some stuff not covered in class may be on test. Clickers are a waste, used them once. Normally uses a piece of looseleaf. If you don't like physical contact, sit in back.
Very overrated professor. Does not teach in his lectures, rather tells stories to make his class appealing. Didnt learn anything except about his odd personality. Don't take Boudreaux if you actually want to learn
This class wasn't worth anything. We learned more about his dogs than Psychology! If you want to make a good grade read the book and study nothing that he gives you! TRUST ME ON THIS!!!
He is VERY intresting to listen to BUT he tells you NOTHING , absolutley NOTHING about what's on the test! His GA makes out the test from an old text book obviously because the information we were tested on was bull, not what i read in the book or anything he said in class. HARD CLASS...

I really enjoyed listening to his "lecture," but they were a TOTAL waste of my time and money! He does not teach the test material, so don't expect a good grade. I have to re take this class, because the C is pulling down my GPA. More money & time down the drain. Total Bull!
The class is fun. Turn off cell phones or you'll have to buy gum for the class! His test or stupid, his temp. makes them out of an old book, half the stuff on them you never talked about in class. if you want an A basically memorize the book chapters! he is always late for class! he goes of topic a lot, i feel like i wasted my money on this class!
Listen and contribute. He really does discuss what will be on the test, you just have to be paying attention. When he throws out a name out or repeats a something, write it down. You can't expect to remember what is talked about with the tests being only at midterm and final if you don't take notes.
This guy is a joke. He taught nothing but how to train a lab and how to potty train a kid. His tests were off the wall and had nothing to do with his "lectures". I would NEVER take him again. The class was a joke and since you have nothing to study its hard to do well on his test. I got a C and missed Presidents list because of it. Jerk.
vERY FUN
I took him for Psychology 101, and I would not recommend to take this class. This is my only B at Nicholls so far. I made an A on the midterm, and did all my extra credit, and I still got a B and have no clue what I made on my final. He does not post the final grades, and is impossible to get in touch with. Does not teach material that is on test.
Hilarious. Tells a good story. I can now train a dog and raise kids. He gets off subject. Learn whatever is in the book. He curves the test. The test is a bunch of crap made up by his little helper. He is always late. He's very loud. He disturbs my math class next door. Phone goes off, you buy gum. Major was psych but I changed it after this class.
Like some of the other reviewers said, he mostly talks about his dogs. You must read the book to do well on the tests, because he doesn't really teach. He should be a comedian or a motivational speaker, rather than a teacher.
GREAT TEACHER, FUNNY
very funny but challenging. you have to read the book to do well on the tests. by the end of the class you will know all about his labs and some kid named LuLu Bell. always 5 to 10 minutes late for class. dont let your phone ring or you owe the whole class gum!
Q-tip is crazy funny....his two test are extremely difficult and would really love you to read his textbook...but don't worry if your mid-term is low, because i made a d on it and probably a f on the final but still passed with a b...I loved him lol...Just show up to class.
Take this class if you want to listen to someone interesting but if you want an A find a four leaf clover because that's the only way you're getting it. His two tests are IMPOSSIBLE. He puts things from other chapters that he has not once mentioned. It would be hard to flunk his class because as he puts it, the grade are "subjective"...IT SUCKS
Hilarious. Show up for class. Had to teach my self. Only had to read a few chapters out of the book. Mainly taught behavioral psych and barely taught the other types. 2 tests...Midterm and Final. Tests are all multiple choice. Tests are tricky.
Prof is full of stories, and fairly interesting. He picks and chooses what he wants to teach. The average of the first quiz my class took was a 61. No one knew what to expect, and he did curve the grades. Once you know what to expect, the class gets easier.
My favorite class! He super nice and really funny. If you pay attention in class you shouldnt have a problem. I rarely study and did good. He curves alot and if you try he will help you out. Take Him!

i love this class, he made us pretend to be alot of different people , he always uses lulu bell and roger dodger as his example names , great class and teacher mid term i made a D but if you failed that i what he gave you because he said he knows that we understood it we just didnt remember it...excellent
His class is very interesting. He has plenty of stories to tell, but you better read the book since that is where most of material comes from and what he says in class; majority of the time won't be on the test. Only about 10% what he says is on the test like the certain topics he is going over.

Great teacher. This was one of the few classes I've actually looked forward to going too. He uses stories from his own life experiences to make the concepts we cover more understandable. The tests are difficult but if you listen to the lectures and keep up with the book reading you should be just fine. Great class.
Prof is hilarious. I did not want to take this class but had to. I am glad I did. He makes the lectures interesting and makes you get involved. I am sure I flunked the midterm and have no idea how I did on the final but made a C. If you show up to class(he takes roll) and do the 2 or 3 assignments you will pass. Great class.

prof is by far the greatest teacher alive. he is hilarious and makes class and the material interesting. if you study and read the book like he says youll pass. and he doesnt fail anyone if you atleast try. to bad he is retiring next year. i def recommend takin him before he is gone.
Prof was great. i actually enjoyed going to class. He not only lectured, but he acted evrything out. So if you're a visual person take him. He kept the class entertaining with his humor and debates. He is awesome and he believes in the college student. He is a a good psychologist. I hope he continues teaching for many years to come. :)

Best Teacher Ever.. yeah, he walks in a little late but get over it! He is hilarious and makes all of his lectures seem like he is talking about you! Tests are brain teasers, but if you know your material then you'll do great! He is one of the most motivating teachers at NSU. Great personality and not shy! i would DEF recommend him for a teacher!!!

Going to his class was like being in a stand-up comic routine. Uses a lot of Cajun terms, could be confusing for people not from the area. Doesn't use the book, but you have to read it. Hard to take notes. Tests cover things not in lectures.
If you want to have some entertainment and a C is ok with you, take him. He will make you laugh as hard as a true comedian but you can't take any notes to bring home. The tests are from test bank, so it's much far beyond what he discusses in class.
The way he teaches sucks because he doesn't give you hand-written notes. Because of this, I had to drop the class. He makes you read the book, but everything that is on the test is not what you read in the book. I don't recommend him, but he is a very smart teacher.
Very Funny teacher. i took him for 205 as an elective but i personally dont feel as if ive learned anything. all hands on. he doesnt personally teacher anything. if you are a note taking kind of student. THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR YOU!
Loved his class but his test were difficult. He expects you to study from the book but won't ever tell you the chapters to study so it makes it more difficult. However, I loved listening to his lectures. Must take notes or will be completely lost.

I looked forward to going to class. His lectures are very interesting & funny. I learned a lot. But the stuff on the tests was nothing like the lecture. He gets his grad student to make up the test. He doesnt post your final grade until it is submitted on your record. I made a C and was upset because I actually studied. Its hard to make a A or B.

He is very funny but barely teaches any material. The only reason I knew any answers on the test was because I looked up other professor's lectures on YouTube. He does curve a lot so even if you don't do so well on the tests, you'll probably end up with a passing grade.

Great professor and very interesting class. However, the test are not easy and if you don't read, go to class, participate, and pay attention, you will fail. I would recommend him, but only if your not afraid to take a difficult class.
Dwight Boudreaux is fantastic at making an easy class hard. I would not suggest taking him unless you like to gamble with your GPA. I am an AB student and I am fighting for a C. Participation is mandatory. He can occasionally be funny. There are plenty of other PSYC 101 professors so take one of them.
Tells it like it is. You need to be in class to have a good participation grade. Very easy if you listen and pay attention. Read textbook to get a better understanding about confusing topics. Awesome teacher?

Best Professor I had at Nicholls
Absolutely amazing professor and if you show him you care and you try and attend class you automatically pass. Curves all grades and amazing lectures! He is there to help you and he tells stories to make key point stick in your head! I would recommend him to EVERYONE!! The best professor I've ever had!
I took this class because other people told me this professor was easy. HAHA. You only have a midterm and a final. He likes to test you on material you have never seen before because he thinks he has covered it. He curves, which is a good thing. Also, he likes to say 'participate or you will do poorly.' That is not true, or wasn't in my case.
Only have 2 grades: midterm and final. The tests has material not covered in class, but he does curve the grades. If you do flashcards and participate in class, he will likely give you a higher grade. Hilarious lectures. Need the textbook, but online version works. Had to work harder for my grade, but he helps out.
The best professor I've had. Only two tests the midterm and final. All grades ar curved. As long as you attend class regularly you will pass. His lectures are kind of all over the place because he gives a lot of example to help students understand the material but it's hard to follow. Overall this class was one of the easiest I've taken so far.

It was an amazing class to be in, because of how interesting and funny his lectures were, but the class overall was tough. There are only 2 tests, and he doesnt give much other than his lectures. He also does not use email or moodle. For my final, a lot of the information was never discussed in class, which caused me to finish the class with a C.

I LOVED having Dwight for psychology. He tells stories and scenarios to help you understand what he is talking about. Go to every class, he cancels all the time anyways, and participate in class. Yes, he only gives out two tests that are kinda hard but they both had 20 point curves on the. You will also have 5 note cards to do, do those!!
He gives 2 tests that are both slightly difficult & you have to turn in 5 cards that are really easy. His lectures are mostly based on scenarios & are very relatable. He's an amazing professor and I think everyone should take this class.
