Friendly, approachable, and entertaining.

Dr.Collins is a cool and young teacher. He's pretty easy if you read your materials and understand their context. We discuss very interesting topics in his class and if you're a person who likes to observe society, his course should be pretty much sought after.

If you do the reading, talk in class, and show some interest, the class is easy. There is a fair amount of writing, but it comes in small bits, which makes it easier. he is a really great teacher, relates the material to students well. wish more ccp professors were like him

He is a very open minded, great teacher. Do the readings, the papers and you will do great. It's a great class to boost up your GPA if needed. He is a really great great teacher. He tries to incorporate different learning styles and is just plain awesome.

My original teacher for the semeter left our class after the third class. Mr. Edward filled in for her but it was the best thing that happended to our class. I have learned so much about myself and look at the world differently. He is one of the best teachers I've had and I highly recommand him for any student.

Prof. Colin is pretty easy to get along with, if you were to fail this class it would be definitely because you didn't attempt to not fail. All material given is given in a matter whereas you know upfront what is due, when it's due, and all the content that is needed to complete by deadlines. He is very knowledgeable about his craft.

Colin was pretty great! This was my first sociology class and he inspired my inner sociologist! Would definitely take his class. Readings were pretty up to date and dealt with what is actually happening now. Pretty easy. Have yet to take my final but will let you know!

This is a painfully easy class. If you show up and put even the slightest amount of effort into the work, you'll pass. My only bug with Colin is that he injects his painfully liberal views into each lecture and assumes everyone is a left-wing nutto. It makes some of the lectures unbearable. I left early for a few. Also grades for attendance - dumb.

I love professor Collins. He is awesome, such a sweetie and a great teacher. work is easy, no tests, he talks about good things and the class is always there and also has great conversation on topics. He is there to help you and listen to what you need a better understanding of. I would most certain take him again.

You will have a lot of writing assignments and reading but it all kept my interest. I would take another class he offered. He is a great teacher and uses different mediums to keep the material interesting.

Professor Edward is one of the best professor at ccp hands down, he teaches with some much interest, he is also someone that will answer any question you are having. Very understanding and will aide you if you seek the help... i would love to take another class taught by him

He is the best teacher to have for Sociology! He makes you think about things you normally wouldn't at first glance. Come to class, participate, do the readings & papers. He has 1 project that is your final grade. We have 4 papers due throughout the course, with 10 subject options. He's a new & young teacher which is good for CCP.

This course was the best course I took all semester. It's writing intensive, so there were no tests throughout the semester only papers. It's lecture based and you're allowed to voice your own thoughts and opinions about the topics presented.

He is great and very understanding. He doesn't treat you like your a child too.

Professor Ruggero is one of CCP greatest Sociology professors. His style of teaching makes a student feel engaged and majority of the time, he connects it to real life events going on today. He respects and listens to every students opinions which makes you want to participate more. Take him for Sociology 101 or for a general elective credit.

Professor Colin uses very real examples to expose how society impacts us individuals. The readings for hw and documentaries/videos shown in class were interesting. The material is all easily accessible online so note taking/review/catching up is easy. I learned important things about myself and others that has changed my perception of the world.

Professor Collin was such a joy! I would take him over and over again! Lots of extra credit and very willing to work with u! He's clear what's expected and very passionate. Never a boring day he engages u. Do your work, show up and you will definitely get a good grade. This is my first review and he's worth it. Take him! You won't regret it!!!

Prof Ruggero was good, his readings were up to date and he kept the class interesting. I didn't pay much attention or participate much & did all of my papers & received a high B. There arent many papers, but that is what you are graded on, no classwork is done but discussing the readings which were homework. If you have to take this class take him!

I just took my final for this course and i'm sad it's over. I really enjoyed this class and coming to it each day. He is very elaborate and descriptive in his lectures and it makes for a very welcoming learning environment. I wish he taught more classes, because I feel like I'm not done with SOC just yet. DO YOUR READINGS! It's a must for in-class reading response and they are graded. I really had fun in this class with many informative discussions with my classmates and the professor. He is very caring, sweet, and easygoing. If you do your work, you will get A. 3 Reflection papers with 4 pages minimum, so a bit of heavy writing.

Professor Colin's is a great professor. He teaches in a way that you understand and if you don't understand something he is always happy to explain again. I would definitely take his class again.

Professor Ruggero is the epitome of a sociology instructor- topics are relevant. You can tell he has a true passion and it cant help but radiate to you. His teachings are unbiased and clear. I would definitely take his classes again.

First of all, He's a great teacher. There aren't any test or quizzes. Make sure you are participating, you do not have to be right just make sure you are on topic and read the material. Definitely register for this class! You won't regret it!! The class is overall pretty easy.

He is probably the best, and the most easygoing professor to have for sociology classes. If I could take any Sociology or related courses taught by him, I would definitely sigh-up instantly. The materials are so easy to understand because he use very friendly terms to explain them. Definitely an easy A.

Professor Ruggero is pretty amazing. He always shows up on time and ready to teach the class. He has always been very excited to teach the material and makes sure the class understands concepts while he teaches. There's a lot of writing but mostly informal.

Took his SOC 231 class. Overall a well-rounded teacher. Be prepared to talk about current issues and topics that are normally difficult to talk about. No test or quizzes, however a project that had several parts and is all semester long is where you will get your grade. The project is topic based, that a person choices themselves. Great Class!

One of the best professors I've ever had. Lectures are engaging and he is passionate about the subject matter. Cares a lot about his students and wants them to succeed. Course material in SOC 101 can be a bit tense at times as he likes to discuss current events in depth, but he does a good job at mediating.

TAKE HIS CLASS! Prof Ruggero is AMAZING. He has a clear grading rubric and is beyond fair with his grading. He gives great feedback on papers. You are expected to read weekly and there are short reading responses at the beginning of class. This is very helpful with learning the weeks lesson and it's an easy A toward your grade if you read.

Professor Ruggero is top notch, he cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He keeps things current in the classroom and the textbooks needed are relevant to the coursework. I admire his handle of the classroom, keeping everyone interested without going on tangents. He is not short on praise when you've proven you know your stuff.

Ruggero is a GEM! Super cool & down to earth! He talks about REAL topics & problems that people from any walk of life can relate too! He has a very fair grading system and writing papers come easy with his topics. Participation & attendance is a must but it makes class fun and sociable.

Really enjoyed this professor. He really knows what he is talking about and you can tell that he enjoys teaching this class. He was recommended to me by a friend who previously took his class. I wish Colin taught more classes that I can take. There is a lot of reading, but most of it was interesting. Great use of in-class discussions. Participate.

Mr. Rugerro is very knowledgable and an overall good teacher. He presents fairly complicated material in an easy to understand way. There is a lot of extra credit and make up opportunities so as long as you keep up with readings, you'll get a good grade. He will also help if needed in or out of class. He's a good dude.

Passionate about the subject, well prepared, always on time, interactive lectures, very fair grader (extra credit available). Despite the obstacles this semester (out of everyones control), he was very communicative and well prepared. Expect to read short articles and submit responses through canvas prior to each class. Highly recommend!

Prof Ruggero is the best. The work he gave us was actually interesting and engaging. As long as you participate in the discussions and do your essays (theres barely any essays either) then you will pass with a 95 or higher. I highly recommend Prof Ruggero to anyone.

Very engaging lectures, encourages student participation so it never gets boring. He's so nice! And chooses interesting current events to study. Just be ready for a lot of group activities (I made friends in class through this lol) and a presentation at the end.

Absolute delight of a sociology teacher! If I could, I'd love to take another of his classes. Has a sense of humor, super chill, memes for extra credit, easy to get a good grade. Lectures are easy to understand. We watched a lot of videos. Homework is simple and on a structured schedule. Would write more positives if I had space. Highly recommend!

Very interesting readings and class time was always used well. Attendance is not mandatory but it is very helpful. There were several opportunities for extra credit throughout the semester and he accepts late work. As long as you do every assignment you will get an A There were about seven assignments I missed and I got a B

Hands down, the best professor I have ever had. Between the reading material selected, motivating thoughtful discussion, and their all-around demeanor, they are just the best. Highly recommend anyone take this class. Actually, I think it should be a requirement in order to graduate.

his class could be boring at times but he was a great teacher, very nice and his powerpoints were accessible outside of class if you happened to miss that class. very understanding and kind and touched on many different social topics!

This course was super interesting and I wish I could've taken it in person! We had weekly quizzes with additional readings and videos to look at. It wasn't an easy A but it was manageable! Pretty informative for a 101 class. Professor Ruggero was very kind and down to earth! We had multiple opportunities to better our grade, I had an 106%!

He's amazing and caring of his students

Great guy. Definitely left-wing but is open to new/conflicting ideas as long as you are respectful and back up your essays with substance and effort. Gives GREAT feedback after each assignment. Each week there is usually an exciting new topic with a creative way to engage students. Great documentaries and actually fun activities. This guy rocks!

Honestly do your work and you'll be fine. There wasn't much workload either. He actually seems to care about what he teaches as well so it's worth while to give it your best for his course.

Professor Ruggero's online summer sociology class is worth it. It provided many real life topics and some will require you to respond to fellow classmates. Quizzes allowed multiple attempts and the textbook will be linked without purchase. He will want you to put in the effort on your responses but other than that the class was very interesting.
