This is a hard class!!! You only have to go about 1/2 the time so you don't have a lot of teacher interaction. The tests are really hard with averages in the 60's and 70's percent. All the accounting 210 classes follow the same format. Good luck!!!
Passionate about teaching; cares deeply.
I love this class. It taught me tons of practical information and Dr. Stice makes accounting so much fun. I know it sounds like an oxymoron. Most of it is done with the CD's that accompany the class though so there isn't constant interaction.
Awesome Prof, especially when working with his brother. Always brought the spirit into class. Has some awesome insights into the BoM. Tests are easy if you do the reading and homework, and pay attention in class. Highly recomend his class!
Stice is a great teacher. His class is fun to go to, but the tests are very hard.
Professor Stice is HILARIOUS. With the way that the class is set up, you only go to class eight times (the rest of the lectures are on CDs), but he was amusing every time. I highly recommend him.
Great sense of humor. He loves teaching and is concerned with the student's welfare.
This class is very difficult. I was a business major and did terribly in it! You only go to class like 8 times a semester, and you never really have any actual contact with the professor. avoid this class unless it's required for you.
Dr. Stice is a really great guy. As strange as it may sound, he has a way of making accounting...interesting. He has a great, dry sense of humor that make his lectures much better than one would think. You only go to class eight times a semester, though.
This class was very informative and interesting. Interaction with Stice is limited, however, as most of the course is computer based. The video lectures are quite entertaining, though. He is very down to earth and funny. The course is not particularly hard, but pay attention and do the problems!
Great teacher easy class
I loved Dr's Stice and Nemrow, but the class format is terrible. I really hope they do not apply this comp-based format to any other classes. Help is very limited, which is bad with such difficult material (for me at least).
This class is great. You don't have a book, instead you have CDs with videos on them that you can control the speed, and go back if you need to. Top five classes at BYU
Dr Stice is hilarious. Great teacher, easy class. I highly recommend it.
Absolutely horrible format - would have been nice to get to know the teacher, but the lectures are on CD - little or no help available, and unless you are really excited about Accounting or already understand it pretty well, the CD's are absolutely frustrating to work with. Too much time required.
Cool teacher, good at getting across to students.
Funny, Funny, sarcastic guy. The class is all on CD (except 8 required lectures). I loved taking the lectures at my own pace, and the material is pretty easy to learn. Make sure to keep up on your lessons, and attend the study sessions for the tests, and you'll do fine
Absolutely the best professor at BYU! If you have a chance to take his class, then do it. Class was a little challenging, but he taught it in an interesting and engaging manner. Simply a brilliant man.
very funny kept it interesting
Best teacher hands down. It's like going to a comedy show every day. Very clear and powerful lectures. I actually enjoyed the class format, but can understand how it'd be harder for some. As for the teacher, no contest.
Great professor, terrible class. If you want to do pretty much everything on your own, then take this one. You spend pretty much the whole class watching movies off a CD. Rip off for my tuition dollar. Did well in the class, but I have no desire to every take anything like it again.
This was one of the easiest class BYU has to offer. The practice exams are almost identical to the real tests. The down side is the limited interaction with the instructor, because you watch the lessons on a CD; however, you can watch them at about 2.5 times the speed which allows you to complete the course quicker.
Stice is an excellent teacher. Since the class is mostly taught from CD's, he only teaches you directly 8 times throughout the semester. He is very helpful and teaches very clearly. There exists lots of help for this class if you need it.
This is the most amazing class and I feel like everyone should take it. Professor Stice is so funny and is truly interested in his students. This class requires a lot of work but it makes you learn the material very well. And there are practice tests you can take which are exactly like the tests. Good class! Take it from Stice!
This is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. I also learned a lot and enjoyed Dr. Stice's lectures. He is fun and sincere. I very much enjoyed the freedom of taking the CD lessons and quizzes on my own. If I had the chance, I would make sure to take Dr. Stice again.
This is the best class - you don't have to go except 8 times! All the lectures are on CD and if you diligently keep up and do your work, you will do awesome in the class. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS before exams, and WATCH THE DEADLINES. They can sneak up if you aren't careful. Great class, great teacher! Cares about students and wants you to do well!
I love how everyone raves about ACC 200, but you don't hear much about ACC 210. IT'S A CHALLENGE. The class is a "weeder" class for Accounting majors and the tests are quite a doozy. The teacher is helpful... keeps you entertained with such boring accounting material. Don't be discouraged if you "aced" Acc 200 and don't do as good in Acc 210.
Its true, 210 is TOUGH but very rewarding. Stice keeps the lectures very interesting. Plan on this class being your heaviest workload - frequent challenging quizzes, some assignments, and insane tests. To do well on the tests you really need to put a LOT of time into studying. However, Stice provides opportunities for everyone to succeed.
You don't really use a teacher for most of this class, but for the 8 required lectures, Stice is a blast! he's one of the funniest professors I've had.
Class is mainly on c.d., except for 8 required lectures. Stice is hilarious, I would pay money to sit and laugh at his jokes.
Stice is my most favorite teacher I've ever had. Unfortunately you only attend 8 lectures the whole semester, because the rest is on the CDs. Stice is hysterical anyway though.
Interactive learning environment and funny stories. His tests are brutal. I studied my butt off to get an A.
Great teacher, makes learning interactive. The tests are hard, but you can get an A if you work hard.
One of the top 3 hardest classes I have taken and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love his dry wit and I learned a lot. Study hard, the tests are brutal.
It's a good class. You gotta put in some time, but coming out with a good grade is very doable.
Awesome class. The CD's made it really enjoyable for me (you can watch them at 2x speed). He's hilarious and he's as well qualified as anyone. The supplemental classes that he taught were very entertaining and informative. This is a class you must take before leaving BYU.
Dang hard class, but a funny guy. Teaches pretty well though. Study hardcore for the tests.
Hardest class in the world. I got an A without a problem in Acc 200. I worked my butt off for this class and got a B-. But Stice is an amazing teacher. The class is curved like crazy. I actually failed two test and yet still got a B-. If you put in effort he promises not to give less then a C. Good class but really hard and time consuming.
Hillarious. Made class fun. Great fashion sense. Just do the homework and it's and easy A.
The required lectures were interesting, but the tests are difficult. The class is curved so it's not hard to pass this class. The lesson quizzes and other stuff (besides the tests) really help your grade out. Take it from Stice!
I really enjoyed this class. It took alot of time watching the CDs but it was worth it. Stice is halarious and really knows what he is talking about.
Dr. Stice is the best professor ever. He is just amazing. The class is very interesting and it's easy.
Stice is brilliant, hilarious, and an excellent teacher - maybe the best teacher I've had at BYU. I learned a ton in this class but had to work very hard. If you don't like accounting you will not like this class because it is so difficult. Use all the resources available and practice the computations.
I wish I had been able to go to more classes that he was actually teaching. The CD's are great but...
Very funny and slightly eccentric professor (think Doc Brown from Back to the Future). Makes the material far more engaging than most other professors, I'd imagine.
The class is all on cd. Prof Stice is hilarious, too bad we hardly had any classes with him. Acc 200 just sucks over all. The teacher doesn't really matter because the tests are all standardized and the lectures are on cd. He is a good one though.
Prof. Stice is a fantastic teacher, given the subject he has to work with. He is better than the other 210 teacher, in my opinion. Suggestions: use the CD's (not the book), master the concepts before going on, and bring a cushiony pillow to the testing center.
My favorite professor at BYU. He's smart, funny, and inspiring. I wish I could keep taking his classes. Do not miss out on taking accounting 200 or 210 from him! Watch out for how hard 210 is, though.
Stice is one of the two best teachers I've EVER HAD!!!. He is SOO helpful with his students. If you EVER have a chance to take him for your teacher, DO IT!!! You will NOT regret it at ALL. HE's the MAN!!
Stice is a great teacher! I really enjoyed him for both Acc 200 and 210. Yes, 210 is a lot harder than 200, so why not have a fun teacher while you're at it? He is very helpful in explaining difficult concepts. He is very fair in his grading...just a really fun, inspiring teacher. Any class with Stice is highly recommended!!
By far the most interesting teacher I've had yet, and the only guy in the world who can make Accounting enjoyable. Highly reccommended.
The class is all on cd but he was awesome when he did teach. It was like a comedy show.
Class wasn't as hard as everyone says, its actually a lot of fun! You just gotta study for the tests, the material is really interesting. Definately not that difficult if you make an effort. The teacher is great and makes me laugh everyday with his hilarious jokes and I actually look forward to coming to class!
The class is on cd, but go to the test reviews that he holds because he is an awesome teacher! I wish more of the lectures were done by him. Great class too, definetely worth taking.
Professor Stice is the man. The class is mostly online, but his required lectures are extremely informative and intrigueing. Study and this class isn't bad, one of my favorite classes taken at BYU.
BEST PROFESSOR HERE AT BYU!!! Extremely informative and very very clear. Great lectures. Study hard and attend lectures and your grade will take care of itself.
the CD's used are great
Best teacher I have ever had. Very smartm
Awesome teacher!!! I really looked forward to the required classes. Pro. Stice is smart, funny and he makes the class interesting. Do all of the assignments, and do the practice exam at least 3 times and an A is easily obtainable.
Professor Stice makes Acc 200 fun! The class material could be dry and hard to focus on when you have to watch hours of material on video without any interaction, but I always looked forward to the next lecture day so I could make sure I understood the material. Mostly so I could enjoy basic accounting with Stice. He's hilarious and makes it fun!
This class is hard, but not too hard. You just watch the CD lectures and take a 5 question quiz. The test are a little tricky, but not too bad. You only have to go to 8 required classes. Pro Stice is a funny man. He is very interesting to listen to. He makes things interesting and fun. I wish we heard from him more often.
I would recommend taking accounting from Stice because he tells you everything you need to know for the quizzes and exams, and he is a very funny teacher. In fact, everything you need to know is included on the Norm Nemrow CDs, which are very enjoyable to listen to.
How can you not love Stice?! Accounting 210 will own you. The tests are extremely challenging, but in a sick twisted way they are fun because they are so hard. It really makes you think! The class itself is VERY structured and outlined very well. You know exactly what you need to do to succeed. Stice is an entertainer. Fun lectures!
Stice is the man. It is sad that the best teacher on campus teaches a class that you only go to 8 times in a semester. You watch all the lectures on CD's which do great job of explaining everything. If you understand everything on there, the tests are not bad.
as most of campus knows this course is taught with lectures on cds. they are easy to follow. grades are very fair. Take this only if you have too. this is a tough course becasuse it is used as a weeder course for acc program. Stice is full of good useful info
I LOVED Professor Stice. He is one of the best teachers I have EVER had! He's a funny guy, and he has a joke for just about everything. He's definately the teacher you want for this class. He's awesome!
He makes accounting funny. Study hard for the final. This professor is highly recommended.
Stice was awesome - his lectures were great - this class was very well organized and grading was very fair - getting an A is very doable if you do everything you're supposed to. Very interesting course, a lot of practical knowledge (even if you're not interested in the business program).
Such an awesome class. Prof Stice is hilarious and will make you love accounting. The CDs aren't too bad and you learn a lot. Do the hw problems and go over the sample exams and you'll do fine.
Accounting is hard, but Stice is a great teacher, and very funny! The CD lessons aren't too bad, just don't get behind or you will be in trouble! Do the sample exams a couple times too, they will really help because the questions are very similar to the exam questions.
Accounting 210 is sucky and hard. I have no idea why all business majors are forced to take this course. Acc 200 is far more enjoyable. Be warned, ACC 210 is the hardest class I've ever taken. Far and away. Stice is a really funny dude and a good teacher, it's a shame the class is so difficult
Kay will rock your world!
This class is hard, but do-able, you just have to put forth the effort. Stice is a great man and a great teacher, the subject matter is just tough
Stice is a funny guy, you only have to go to class 8 times during the semester, the rest is lectures on CD's. They're easy enough, just don't fall behind (quizzes on them via blackboard). Not too difficult if you keep up.
Probably the greatest lecturer I have ever seen. I love his classes. Unfortunately it is almost entirely online. You must attend 8 lectures per semester. Great structure and organization. You can work at your own pace. It is time consuming if you want the A unless you're a genius.
Stice if the man! his class is early but it is worth getting up to take. He is funny and very helpful. Most of the information is on the class CD's but he is super funny.
There are two negative comments towards the bottom of the page. LISTEN TO THEM. Stice may be nice, but it didn't really matter; Both 200 and 210 are sheer horror. I had taken an accounting class at another university (and got an easy A), and I have never been so confused in my entire life. The structure and the CD's are a nightmare. Beware!
Very Good teacher. Entertaining and insightful, would recommend.
I loved professor Stice. Unfortunately, I took it in spring, so you only go to lecture twice. Other than that it is entirely on the CDs. It's really time consuming if you want an A, but it's doable.
Prof. Stice is one of the best business/accounting professors at BYU. You may not like the difficulty of his class, but there's no question he has incredible teaching skills. The Marriott School likes to have their best professors teach the biggest classes, and this is no exception. Enjoy it while it lasts; this quality of teaching is rare.
Solid. This guy's a stud. The class is tough, but Stice is hilarious and makes it great.
He is SO funny. I loved going to class.
This class was pointless for me. The lectures were presented on a DVD that we were required to watch and take quizzes on. The questions from the quizzes were very specific and hard to get right, and the exams were the same. There was no insight as to what would be on the exam because we didn't go to a class, and the review sessions didn't help.
He's really really funny and the class is set up to be fair, not necessarily easy but very fair
Funny teacher. You only go to class about once every few weeks. You need to really know your stuff for the tests. We use the CD's and listen to Norm (who is also funny). I'm not big on accounting, but I liked the class.
You only have to attend lecture a few times and he lets you know exactly what the lectures are about. The rest of the class is on CD which can be long and boring and you have to take quizes after each lesson. Good if your self motivated.
Professor Stice is all that you want in a college professor. The course material is very straight forward and you know exactly what you need to do to get a good grade. Don't miss lectures from him, he's amazingly funny and very effective teacher. Don't make the mistake of not taking ACC 200 without Prof. Stice!
Dr. Stice is one of the more real teachers on campus. He knows what he teaches very well, but he knows it is hard too. He is clear on what he teaches. It's teachers like him that continually lead BYU to one of the Top 5 Accounting schools in the nation.
Stice knows his stuff. The tests are ridiculously hard...so don't plan on high scores. You learn more information in one semester in this class than in any class you've ever taken before.....and then you're tested on all of it. Great Man...rough class
This is a very challenging class taught by an excellent professor. I actually enjoyed coming to class and learned a lot. Stice is funny but also teaches very clearly. You can do well on the tests if you study a lot! I would definitely recommend him over the other 210 professors.
Every college class should be structured exactly like ACC 200! Fantastic class. Requires time, but if you do what he tells you to do, you'll get an A. Prof. Stice is one of the most entertaining guys I've listened to.
This class is taught with a few required lectures, but most materials are taught by DVD lessons. He makes the requirements for the class clear and helps you for the required class quizzes. If you go to the exam reviews before the exams and also do the practice exams until you understand the problems, you should have no problem getting a high grade.
Funny guy, but it isnt an easy class.
Stice is hilarious. Puts the cool back in school...If you want to do well in the class, do the quizzes early and start studying for the tests days in advance.
Professor Stice is the man. He explains concepts well and how they relate to even those who aren't interested in accounting. Take his class
THE EXAMS ARE INSANE!I enjoyed the class because I love accounting but the exams no way show my ability.I got a decent grade but still he needs to know that he should complicate the exams in such a way that people good in accounting do it and not the ones in interpreting logical sequence of data which basically mean nothing but make students mad.
Very tough class.... believe me!!!1 ridiculously tough exams but seriously its the best accounting class ever! I enjoyed this class. If you really understand the concepts in the practice exams you will do fine in the exams! I lovedd this class.
Stice is hilarious, but this class is hard. I still really enjoyed it because I like accounting. If you wanna take ACC 210, take it from Stice!! You won't regret it.
Stice is an awesome teacher. I don't enjoy accounting but I enjoy being in Stice's lectures. He is entertaining and makes class fun. If you are taking 210 take it from Stice. The class and tests are all the same but Stice livens things up
I would just say one thing. I was a 4.0 before taking this class. Although I got a decent grade as per this class. This class killed my GPA. So, just imagine the difficulty level of this class. Plan on studying really well on exams. Easy materials, tough class! Good luck!
Stice is the best professor at BYU. Every class is enjoyable...he cracks jokes like you wouldn't believe. Challenging but completely do-able. He is the man!!!!!!
You learn so much in this class. The exams are really tough but if you have studied well you will do fine. This class kind of depriciated by GPA but I still felt it was totally worth taking this class; hey after all we are rated number 2 in accounting right???. Good Luck!
This guy is hilarious...and he's an awesome teacher! Take any class he teaches!
take it cuz you have to. the ONLY hard things are the tests. you may think you know the material flawlessly but the tests test you on how well you can problem solve. the tests are almost nothing like anything you've seen up til that point. It's an accounting weeder class. Tip: Know how to do the probs on the practice exams forward AND BACKWARDS
Stice is awesome. The tests are hard, but way too many people stress this class. A B+ is easy to get but an A is super hard unless you're an accounting geek. Take stick over any other professor. If you just spend 1-2 hours a week studying the blackboard posts a B+ is a given and an A- possible.
The funniest guy on campus! It is so amused sitting in his class. The course is well organized. You will learn a lot from it. The tests are very hard, much harder than the practice tests, but they are not something unsolvable. Also, I would recommend u not to use the CD. Norm is the man, but he is not so successful in explaining stuffs.
Love Stice. I was excited to see Norm again on the CD's, but the 210 CD lessons are terribly boring compared to the 200 ones. So hard to listen to straight accounting gabbing for 2 hours! He doesn't tell any jokes or stories in 210.
Stice was awesome. He cracked jokes throughout his lectures and is the funniest teacher I have ever had. He also is good at explaining the concepts. A waring to those who breezed through ACC 200, however: this class is A LOT harder.
Stice is the best Prof on campus. Accounting is one of the hardest classes but just listening to Stice lecture makes it worth while. I would take any class that he teaches.
Yup! Like others said,... test are hard... and not even a test of ure understanding on Accounting. My suggestion would be to play with the question for at least 5 minutes if you cant solve it and you will eventually get it...But I learned a really good deal in this class. I got a decent grade too but still study well for the tests. Please do!
First off, Stice isn't hard, ACC 210 is hard. He uses a lot of good examples, and stuff, and he's a really cool guy. Realize that ACC 210 is structured and controlled largely by the department, but whatever Stice can do to help you he will.
ACC 200 almost convinces you that you could major in accounting. ACC 210 almost convinces you to drop out of school. Professor Stice is a great man and does a great job of keeping the material interesting. The tests are unbelievable. I still don't know how to prepare for them. They don't really test you on what you have actually learned.
I didn't make it into the program. The secret to passing this class is the same as in Norm's. Do the problems. The teacher is really nice. Even when I wasn't going to make it into the program he was nice. Be careful on the problems!! It's okay to take this class from him, i've heard much worst.
You whiny future MBA students! Acc 210 is easy if you study. If you can't get through Acc 210 w/o complaining, there is no way you should even attempt the accounting jr. core. 210 is just a brief introduction to accounting. But, if you think it's hard go ahead and get an economics or MBA degree.
This class tests you on how much you study, not how smart you are. It just tries to make things tricky as possible, but doesn't stretch your mind in the least bit. Take economics if you actually want to learn how to think.
Best professor I've ever had. Hilarious. Smart. Helpful. Hilarious. Cares. Aligned with the gospel in the way I expect from a BYU professor. Attending a lecture by him is pure entertainment in which knowledge is rammed into your brain while you are busy laughing.
Lectures are interesting, clear, and entertaining. The textbook is concise - no fluff. Software is sometimes long, but you can watch it at double speed. 1/2 of class days are optional (software days). Tests are tougher than material on quizzes. Use the study guides. He's funny. If he taught 310 I'd take his class. Highly recommended.
AWesome interactive teacher!
Love acc & stice - words cannot explain. Spiritual, smart beyond measure, hilarious, inspiring, i looked forward to my homework and class and his emails. I will miss him dearly
H'es the most amazing professor ive ever had. Super clear and super funny. MY fav class
Stice is really engaging and fun to listen to. He sends out emails to remind you about quizzes and his tests match what was taught in class perfectly. Papers are super easy. He provides great practice tests. It's obvious that he really cares about his students. Best class ever!
Stice is the man, very engaging during lecture. Very clear about expectations. For exams, take his advice and do the full practice tests and you can definitely get an A. Amazing final lecture.
Stice is probably my favorite BYU professor of all time! He has fun, engaging lectures and really cares about students' learning. He sends out reminder emails and is super clear regarding grades and expectations. Must go to lectures. 3-4 online quizzes per week (fairly easy). 4 papers (super easy). The tests can be hard. Do the full practice exam!
Took an Intro to Women's Studies class from him and really enjoyed it. He encourages class participation and by the end of the semester we all knew each other fairly well. Grading is straight forward - do the reading guides, take the quiz, come to class, participate, etc. and you should be fine.
Stice is bomb. He is very clear and very engaging. He writes lots of reminder emails to make sure no one falls behind. The tests are very difficult, but he gives helpful practice exams. He's probably my favorite BYU professor.
I loved this class! If you get Professor Stice you are lucky! His class was very engaging and informative. He applied everything to real life situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this class!
Professor Stice was an absolutely amazing professor, and I would definitely recommend that if you can take him you do. There really wasn't too much work, and its only required that you go to class half the time. Stice is also an amazing lecturer so even though the classes are huge its still fun. He also gives practice exams to study that help.
Dr. Stice is hilarious. He definitely knows accounting. He wants us to do well, but in all reality, this is a weeder class. I know for a fact that there's a reason I'm a psychology major and not a business major after this class. The stuff we've learned is valuable and I'm sure I'll use it again, but not my favorite.
For a large class, Stice's lectures were interesting and engaging. Applied concepts to real life situations. Stice not only knows accounting, but KNOWS HOW TO TEACH it. Don't fall behind; his quiz schedule forces you stay on track though, which he sends out email reminders. His midterm practice exams are very helpful as well as the online quizzes.
Great professor, tough class. The structure is so well planned out, it is really easy to stay organized in this class. I would study everything early and do lots of practice problems. Although he says there is little math involved, there really is a lot of math.
Go to Class, pay attention, do the quizzes and you'll do fine. Stice is an amazing teaching and more than capable of keeping you interested. One of the best teachers I have had.
Fabulous teacher! ACC 200 will take effort, but it's a great class. You have to go to class 1/2 the time. Stice is clear, funny, and engaging. There are about 3 quizzes a week (usually between 6 and 10 questions). MAKE SURE YOU DO THE QUIZZES - they are a big chunk of the grade. I feel like i only made a medium effort, got an A, and learned a lot.
He's my favorite teacher that I've had at BYU. Way funny guy and he somehow manages to make Acc 200 pretty interesting.
He's a really funny guy who cares about his student, but you definitely have to work hard in his class.
Loved his energy and enthusiasm as he taught the class. You have to work hard but he cares about his students and there is a lot of help offered in the TA lab so take advantage of it. If you have the opportunity to take ACC 200 from Stice I would def recommend it!
Most organized teacher I've ever had. I love him! Accounting is just a hard subject. I really like how he teaches. 1/3 of the classes are online.
Love this professor!!! So funny and engaging in his lectures. He uses a program for half the classes so you don't have to go very often, and he makes everything really clear. There's no textbook, just the software that can take a few hours. TAs are super helpful- go to them if you have ANY questions. Tests are simple as long as you study.
I loved this class!!! Stice is so funny and makes the subject very interesting. No textbook, just a software lesson, which you need to make sure you do! Tests are tough, but the TAs can help you a lot. TAKE FROM HIM!!!!
If you are going to take Acc 200, take from Stice. That being said, know that you're in for a boatload of work, quizzes, reading, and software-lectures. Take your time during the tests, pay attention to detail, and GO TO CLASS. If you put in the effort, you can totally get an A. If you slack or fall behind, you will suffer.
whoever you take it from the work is gonna be the same, same quizzes, tests, structure, lecture, slides, whatever. very structured lets you know exactly what you need to know. Stice was pretty funny which always helps with enjoying attending class, but like others said just keep up with the work and youll do fine and go CRAZY on the practice exams.
Never expected that accounting could be so easy! Had his class in Moscow
Very good class. Excellent teacher. Everything is mapped out exactly so you know what to do. There's an online quiz before and after every class. The tests are difficult, but not too bad. One of my favorite classes.
This professor is the best I've ever had. He's interesting, funny, interactive, super nice, & he'll do everything to get you to do well. Extremely helpful. Half of the course is optional & half of it is mandatory, but I recommend going all the time for understanding. He's the best. I did well in this class with his help.
Funny guy and likable. The class is gonna be hard and ya gotta work hard no matter who teaches it, but he spices it up with humor pretty good. Make sure to be friends with the TA lab for calculation hw parts, and study the quiz tips as you go along and you should be good!
SUPER WELL-ORGANIZED CLASS! He is really funning, entertaining, and makes accounting fun! Quizzes are super easy, and they much up most of your grade. GO crazy on study guides. Make sure to keep good notes during class, too. Make sure to do ALL the questions in Software lecture. It has helped me a lot. If you put time into the class, you are solid!
Best teacher ever! Really funny. Knows what he teaches and teaches really well. Make sure to just do the work and You'll be good. I absolutely loved the class and would take it again from him.
Kay is what he goes by, and he is definitely the coolest teacher that I have ever taken. He makes accounting fun by joking about how fun it is. He also moved back all of the due dates for quizzes by a week to help us deal with learning suite. You can tell he loves the subject and he really wants to make it interesting. 18/10
Stice is a super great teacher. WS 222 was one of the easiest but most thought-provoking and valuable classes I've taken at BYU.
Great teacher. He really makes learning accounting fun. i never thought i would be interested in accounting but thanks to him i learnt so much and really enjoyed the class, he truly cares about his students and is willing to listen to them, and help them out with what he can. if you can take this class from him.
Best teacher ever! I Highly recommend him. Funniest teacher ever also and great lecturer.
Best teacher for ACC. Accounting is not going to be difficult (if you are responsible) and will not be easy (just because it's challenging). Kay (Earl) Stice makes sure you are ready for every single quiz and test. You will be just silly if you don't take advantage of that. Some may not love ACC like me, but everyone loved this teacher!
Professor Stice is the best teacher in the world. He really cares for the students and tries to really teach us the importance of accounting and how to apply it into our daily lives. He was also the funniest teacher I have ever had.
I will admit that Stice is hard. He will test you on every principle you can possibly think of in accounting. But he was the best teacher I have had at BYU. He is super funny and willing to help you if you have any questions. I got a 71% on my first test but still ended up with an A in the class so don't stress if you don't do well at first
BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. I FREQUENT HIS CLASSES EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT IN THEM BECAUSE IT'S LIKE STAND-UP COMEDY. IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ACCOUNTING IN A FUN, ENJOYABLE WAY YOU SHOULD TAKE HIS CLASS. EVEN THOUGH THE COURSE IS CHALLENGING YOU WILL BE SAD WHEN IT'S OVER. STICE'S CLASSES=STAND-UP COMEDY LACED WITH SOME ACCOUNTING
Best teacher I have ever had in any class hands down. Take this class from him. He is really funny and he is an excellent teacher. He makes it way easier to understand.
Stice is the best ever. His class is structured in a way that makes perfect sense with the content. He makes accounting fun! Lots of online quizzes, but it helps cement what you learn in class and through the software. 4 "papers," but they're really just assignments. 2 midterms, and a final exam. Do the work, and you'll get a good grade too!
Stice is hilarious and fun. The class is challenging. Do the software, and out of class reading, make sure that you understand thing before quizzes. Study the practice tests and go to review sessions. You can get an A, it just takes effort, but is well worth it!
Stice is the man!! Every lecture is entertaining (you'll laugh a ton) and insightful and I've never been a part of a more organized class. Tests are challenging, so make sure you put in your time. I usually avoid difficult classes, but take accounting from Stice for sure!
This class is the hardest class I have taken at BYU. Professor Stice is a very funny guy though and tries to make the material as easy as he can. He tells jokes in class and is just over all a good guy!
Stice is one of the best teachers I've had at BYU. Super funny and it's easy to pay attention in class. The class is quite difficult but Stice makes it easy to understand. Tests are hard which is a huge part of your grade.
I liked how we only had to show up to class one day a week. Professor Stice is hilarious and is very helpful during his office hours. Be aware that this class could be very different from a high school accounting class. I had taken a hs acct class and then I took this one, and it still took a lot of effort to learn. Well worth it though.
Dr. Stice is hilarious! And he organizes a difficult class very well, making it manageable.
If you fail this course, it is your fault, not Professor Stice's. He is a very funny, lucid professor who posts all of his power points and quizzes online, and he emails you daily as well. The course is hard, but if you do all of the homework, pay good attention in class, and study well for the tests, an A should not be too difficult to obtain.
Guy is amazing. Seriously, he is what inspired me to be an accounting major. Just do the work and even if you don't love it, you'll do fine on the tests. Lectures are way interesting.
Professor Stice is absolutely hilarious and keeps class entertaining. There are quizzes after every class period, and for half of the classes, you just watch a software lecture. The tests are pretty hard and time consuming. The tests are what will ruin your grade in this class and they require a ton of study time if you want to do well.
Stice is very funny and going to class was enjoyable. He always responds to emails very fast and is very helpful. A little tough. Don't try to haggle your grade though. It will not work.
Stice is the man. Best class I have ever taken at BYU. It is not an easy class but he makes it really enjoyable. I learned a lot and its all thanks to him.
Dr. Stice is very loving and is interested in the success of each student in the class. He is absolutely hilarious and he makes each class session enjoyable. The class definitely require steady, consistent effort, but it is worth everything you put in.
I was extremely nervous about taking this class, but it's been wonderful! Professor Stice is one of the best and most hilarious teachers I have ever had. His tests can be a bit rough, but if you go to class and keep up with the readings, videos, and quizzes, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. :)
BEST professor i can ever ask for. Love his class and his humor. He makes the class so fun and enjoyable. Not super easy class but if you work hard, you will love it!
Professor Stice is great because he wants you to succeed. He goes out of his way to make sure that the students know what is going on. It is a difficult subject, but he does a great job in leading students down the path of learning. You don't want to skip class or homework because you will quickly fall behind.
Professor Stice is hilarious. The whole class is laughing their pants off everyday. Don't be afraid to take this class. Just pay attention to the lectures and do the study guides and all will be well.
Half of the classes are mandatory. Pre- and post-class quizzes (less than 10 questions long).
Take this class just to have the experience of having Professor Stice. He's the greatest. However, this class is hard and time consuming, but super interesting. I loved it.
Professor Stice is Amazing!! He is funny and always keeps class interesting. I always enjoyed going to class, which is a surprise. I wish all my classes were from him. The class is challenging, but if you go to the lab for help (and pay attention) it is not bad. You can come out with an A if you try.
Pretty much the best teacher at BYU. Period. Takes the difficult material and makes it very clear and understandable.
Like everyone has said, this class is super hard. You need to put in a lot of time. The test average is around 70% every test, but he curves it so it's not like you will fail. Best teacher I have ever had, but a tough class. I would take it, but just be prepaed for some stress and tough tests.
Professor Stice is one of the best teachers I've ever had. His class is enjoyable and manageable if you're willing to learn and study. Even if Accounting isn't the field of business you plan on pursuing, this is a class you'll enjoy taking.
Dr. Stice is a great professor! The class is quite time consuming, but Stice makes it bearable. He's a nice guy and if you put in the effort consistently, you can get an A fairly easily.
I created this ratemyprofessor account just so I can give him a grade. Professor Stice is the BEST! My favorite teacher --- EVER. He's super clear, funny, and makes every class interesting. His grading is fair, and he has everything documented. If you are willing to put in the time, you will get an A.
I took Accounting at UVU before transferring to BYU. I understood so much more from this class, but it wasn't because I took it a second time. It was because of Professor Stice. He WANTS you to succeed. He will email you everyday with reminders. He's hilarious and applies everything to real life. If you don't pass this class, its your fault not his
Professor Stice is absolutely hilarious and teaches extremely well and clearly. Half the classes were optional, but I always wanted to go. The class does require consistent effort, but it isn't hard to get an A.
Great professor, super funny, but difficult class
Never taken classes like this before and was planning to go to med school but now I'm going into business because of this class and this professor. Hilarious, helpful, & has great teaching method. I was always actively engaged & my class was at 8 am! Keep up with the reading/videos. Do the practice exams. Study. Use the lab. This class is a breeze!
Prof. Stice is a very entertaining and organized teacher. His class moves quickly but he has plenty of coursework to help you keep up if you're willing to put in the time. Attendance is required every other class day.
Stice is the man! Best professor I've ever had in college! He is so witty and hilarious--there was never a dull moment. He makes the material interesting, and has a way of explaining concepts simply. This class takes a lot of work and effort; keep up with the packet readings and software lessons. The final was killer.
This guy is seriously legendary! I had absolutely zero interest in Accounting before taking this class but the guy turns it into a comedy hour! I have never had a professor that has done more for their students to help them pass. He sends email reminders all the time. I totally recommend him. No regrets taking this class. I will seriously miss it.
Professor Stice is without a doubt one of the best professors I have ever had. His class is incredibly well organized and on top of being a fantastic teacher, he is hilarious! Genuinely cares about his students and makes 100% sure that you won't forget any assignments by sending constant reminders. Best accounting professor out there!
Excellent professor. Extremely helpful, and approachable.
Stice was a wonderful teacher but the class was awful. His lectures were hard to follow, and once you get behind, it's almost impossible to catch up.
Dr. Stice was voted #1 prof at the business school in HK, which is #1 in the world -- he helped START the school. SUPER witty, organized, helpful. LOTS of class material, so read BEFORE you come to class and it'll be a breeze. And you'll have a lot of fun!
Professor Stice is hands down one of the best professors at BYU. He is funny, engaging, and is so clear when he teaches. This class is hard, but if you have to take it from anyone, take it from Stice. Some days are optional, but I would recommend going anyway... youll wish you had if you miss them.
Stice is one of my all time favorite professors. He is extremely funny and is very good at explaining concepts while keeping them interesting. The class itself is a lot of work, however, if you keep up with the textbook and do all of your assignments you will do well. It only becomes difficult when you get behind. I highly recommend Stice.
This class is awesome! It is a hard class, but it is possible. Stice is the best teacher I have ever had. I would take it from Stice!!
Stice is probably the funniest guy on BYU campus. Super entertaining lectures! He is cracking jokes the whole time which makes class very enjoyable. There is LOTS of material and it definitely takes lots of studying outside of class. Tests are quite difficult so study the reviews as best you can. Hard class but Stice makes it super enjoyable!
Professor Stice is one classy man! This class is easy if you put in the effort to do the assigned readings and to come to class. He goes above and beyond to make sure it's difficult to fail, sending email reminders before every single quiz and assignment that is due. Overall, I highly recommend this class to those taking ACC 200.
Easily the best college professor I have had. He formats his class in a way that makes you work hard but rewards that hard work. His mandatory and optional days help tons. A purely good experience. I am an accounting major now.
Stice is one of the best teachers at BYU. Acc 200 is easy if you take the practice exams multiple times and if you spend the time to really study the class handouts, quiz materials, and read the text book. Very entertaining lecturer and nice man.
Great professor!
I really enjoyed the class all because of Stice. I am not a fan of the topic, but Stice made it interesting. He is very entertaining and gives great lectures. I would highly recommend him as a teacher.
Professor Stice made me like accounting! not an easy task. He is super funny, keeps you interested and teaches for understanding
He is AWESOME. SUPER FUNNY. GREAT CLASS. I LOVED ACCOUNTING FROM HIM! I would recommend him 10/10. Take his class. I LOVED IT. Best class I've ever taken. Ever.
This guy was one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He was so funny!!! I don't love accounting but he made me kind of love the class anyway. I highly recommend this guy!! Take a class from him if you have the option! Do it now! Do yourself a favor!!
Professor Stice is a really great professor, I like being part of his class. He gave lots of chance for students to participate. He will have us form in groups during class and it actually helps me to be more focus!
Professor Stice is the best professor I have had at BYU. DO NOT TAKE ACCOUNTING 200 FROM ANYONE ELSE! If you do you will seriously regret it. He does an exceptional job of explaining difficult concepts, and he has a great balance of in-class work with online work. The class does require that you put in some solid study time, but that is expected.
10/10 highly recommend
I love him. He is such a great professor. Take his class!!!!
Personally, I love Stice. He is hilarious and is super passionate about accounting. I just am really bad at accounting (well math in general) haha. But there are tons of my friends in the class that are thinking about becoming accounting majors because of Stice. So, he is the solidest solid choice for an accounting teacher :)
Professor Stice makes Accounting fun and enjoyable. His lectures are funny while still providing a clear understanding of the principles being taught. You do have a decent amount of reading outside of class on software days. Come to class, work hard, study for the tests, and you'll be fine.
Stice is such a funny old man. He explains the content well, though there are online days where we use myeducator instead of going to class and those don't really teach that much. I understood the content, though I did horrible on the exams, so go figure. If you don't care about your grade or you're just smart, take it from Stice.
Accounting 20 is a hard class but Prof. Earl Stice makes it a lot easier. His lectures are fun and engaging. There is lots of reading and the grade is 'test heavy' so be ready to read and study for exams. Fantastic teacher and he really made the class fun.
Great professor. Hilarious, engaging, and makes accounting interesting and applicable.
STICE IS THE MAN. He is my favorite professor by far; made me fall in love with accounting, downright hilarious, SO clear on his expectations, sends regular emails with important info, and cares about his students. If you're willing to work hard, you'll do well in his class.
Professor Stice is amazing! He makes everyone fall in love with accounting. The class is set up that half the time you sit in a lecture and on other days you stay home. At home, you can either decide if you wanna read the book, or you can watch amazing videos where everything is explained. The videos, however, can take up to 2 hours to watch.
He is one of the best professors I have ever taken classes from! He is a funny, caring, straightforward teacher! Amazing at teaching to help students understand! I wish I could take all my classes from him!
Pro. Stice is fantastic. Acc 200 was my first business class in college and he made it seem much more bearable. This was a great class to take before the other Bus. pre-recs since it gives you all the definitions needed for a good base. Take this pre-rec first before finance, if possible. And if you get Stice, all the merrier! All the pros are great
His lectures are always interesting and fun. He posts all of his slides with notes online. I found the online textbook and his videos together to be most useful. This class is very time consuming; lots of reading/reading quizzes every week. There are a lot of resources to succeed in the class though. TA lab and study groups were essential for me.
I love Professor Stice, He is really entertaining during lecture and teaches very simply and straightforward. He lays out everything that you have to do for the class. He is very organized which I appreciated. He gives you a good study guide for the tests and really prepares you for them. Take Accounting from him!
Such a good professor, I took the Acc class that is half online half in class. He is super funny, presents all the info clearly, and loves to help students one on one or to answer questions even in big lecture halls. I was also impressed by how many resources he offers students, and he reminds you when quizes are due! Super helpful professor.
I really liked Professor Stice's class, but I found his grading policy to be very strict, with VERY little room for error. He is also really bad about keeping his gradebook up to date, so you will never know what your grade is. He is a good teacher, but his class has no mercy for any mistakes. The hybrid class deal is also a bust.
Dr. Stice is the most amazing man I've ever met. I LOVED his lectures and he is just downright hilarious. He cracks me up and makes accounting so much fun. Plus the class is WAY organized and he provides so many extra help resources to understand everything.
Stice is awesome! Funny sarcastic comments, but this class isn't a joke. BEWARE. Take the first exam seriously, especially if you need a 3.0 GPA for credit. Difficult to raise grade, no extra credit. STUDY ALOT. Tests are a bit brutal to study for. Quizzes due twice a week. A few easy assignments on top of quizzes.
Fantastic professor! I thought accounting would be a snoozer but he made it really interesting. It's a somewhat difficult course, so make sure to complete all of the moderate workload. One of the best professors I've had!
Professor Stice is really an incredible professor. If you stay on top of things and study hard for the tests by reviewing quizzes and study guides that he provides. No curve/extra credit. Even if you don't initially seem interested in accounting, stice is so good that he'll make you like it, and if you still don't something might bewrong with you.
Professor Stice is an amazing man. I never really thought that accounting would end up being my favorite class, but he made it happen with his hilarious jokes and fascinating teaching style. He's an incredibly intelligent guy, and he really does keep it interesting. Highly recommend.
Professor Stice is the accounting G.O.A.T. His lectures are hilarious and he always wears Hawaiian shirts.
Let's just say that if there was one person I knew who should be the President, it would be Earl Stice.
Professor Stice is one of the funniest and most effective professors I have had so far at BYU. I took accounting 200 from him as a hybrid-online-in class- class, so we only met once a week. This wasn't a problem because Stice has excellent communication with his students. We always knew what was expected and due, he set very specific guidelines.
His lectures rock! Great teacher who really gets into his lectures. But, his tests can get pretty tricky so make sure you go to the accounting lab at least once a week. His everyday hawaiian shirts rock too. He is very understanding/is willing to help you out if you talk to him after class.
Best professor to take ACC 200 from.
STICE IS NICE! STICE IS NICE! I love this man he is the GOAT of Professors. You'll have to work for it but there's no surprises about what's going to be on the test. Homework is a necessity there are quizzes every homework assignment.
Accounting 200 was a challenging class, but Professor Stice made it as engaging as possible. He is so intelligent and entertaining, and I would recommend him to anybody. But don't take his class unless you're ready to put in effort!
Professor Stice is one of the best Professors I have ever had. He cares about his students' success and is each student's advocate. His lectures are engaging and very funny. His humor makes a boring subject much more fun. His tests are hard, but if you study you can do well. He also curves the class after the final.
Professor Stice is the best professor at the school hands down. He is clear, concise and organized. Earl Stice is the man, the myth, the legend.
Prof. Stice has been my favorite professor so far at BYU. His lectures are really fun and engaging and he really cares about his students. I'm not an accounting or business major and I still highly recommend this class!
Professor Stice is an excellent teacher. He does a great job of making difficult concepts easy to understand and is very clear on when things are due. The class requires a lot of reading and a lot of quizzes, but if you stay on top of things it's very manageable.
Hands down best professor I've had at BYU. Super funny guy and loves accounting. Go through the practice tests and video walk throughs with the answers and it helps a ton on the test.
Stice is a great professor. Acc200 was very hard, however, it is very possible to do well. Go to lectures, do the readings, do well on the quizzes. Go through the practice tests & make sure you understand each question. If you do this, you will do well on the tests. Also, midterm 2 is weighted more than midterm 1, & the final is weighted the most.
One of the best professors there is at BYU. Take this class and you will not only learn accounting but have a lecture you can look forward to. Stice is super nice and kinda looks like Bernie Sanders, which was great during my 2016 class.
Stice is the dopest teacher at BYU. Accounting sucks but Earl Stice is a legend and you will tell legendary stories about Stice years after taking the man. Everyone gets wrecked with other accounting teachers. Take Stice.
Stice is a tough professor. He is fun in lecture, but the tests are extremely hard and trip you up anywhere they can. One plus is that he makes extensive study guides and video walk-throughs for every problem. Don't take this business prereq first, stick with marketing.
Professor Stice is great! He provides in-depth videos that go over many problems that are similar to exam questions. If you listen in class and put in the work when studying for exams, you'll do fine.
The funniest man on BYU campus bar none. The class is easy if you just put in an iota of effort.
Funniest professor that I've ever had. I thought I would hate accounting but I'm actually really enjoying it. Credit to Professor Stice.
If you want an A in this class make sure you study a lot. Accounting 200 is not the easiest class in the world, but take it from Stice. He's super funny and he makes accounting interesting, which isn't easy. By far the best teacher to take Acc 200 from. Awesome guy.
Dr. Stice engages your attention and helps you understand why accounting is important. I struggled with the online portion of this class because it usually takes about 4 hours to complete. Exams are very difficult, but if you study a ton, really pay attention, and feel like you understand pretty much everything, you should be ok.
He's super clear about expectations and wants students to succeed. Sends out reminder emails and helps however he can. I took the hybrid course, and the in-class parts seem silly, but you need to go for credit/tests/quizzes. UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. Don't just speed through it; go to the lab and get the concepts down and it'll be easy.
He's a really funny professor and covers the material well. Challenging class, but he gives you lots of tools to succeed: practice problems, TA help, test reviews, etc.
Stice is amazing. He's the reason I like accounting. He sets the class up so you have every single one of the tools you need to succeed, if you are willing to put in the work. Practice tests are the way to go to study for his tests. It's a hard class. But Stice makes it fun & doable if you're willing to work hard. Take it from him! We all love him.
Professor Stice is amazing. So funny, and he really cares. The class is very challenging, and he tries to trip you up on the tests. Go to the TA labs- they really help!
One of my favorite professors ever. Hilarious, kind, and inspiring. If you put in the time and study hard, you'll do well in the class. Makes accounting exciting to learn. Class is half online/half in-person and is very organized. Keep up on assignments & don't get behind! His Hawaiian shirts always made my day. You will love Professor Stice!
best profressor I have had- EVER. Hands down funniest and most inspiring professor. Everyone needs tot ake this calss.
Professor Stice is a very prepared teacher. He has so many resources and a perfectly scheduled out semester. He is very clear on what is expected and sends quiz reminder emails. In the first part of the semester he retaught concepts over and over again and in the second part I struggled with learning some concepts. Be prepared for test 2.
I love Prof. Stice, he is one of my favorite professors ever. He's absolutely hilarious and teaches clearly. The online days got kind of long and arduous in content. He's a fair grader and gives you every opportunity to succeed. Take this class from him, it's worth it.
Professor Stice is the best professor at this school and its not even close. ACC 200 is a hard class but Stice gives you so many resources and study materials, if you do the work you'll be fine. Also he wears Hawaiian shirts everyday and is a funny dude. if you take ACC 200 take it from Stice, it'll be dumb lit.
Three quizzes a week, 4 EASY assignments, and 3 BRUTAL tests! Averages were about a 75%. Prof Stice is a hilarious guy. It is a blended course, so you have one in-class day, and one online class day. He explains things very clearly, it is just fast paced and tedious. The readings tend to be extremely long and the tests are designed to trick you.
I loved Professor Stice. He is an excellent teacher, is funny, and caring. I would definitely take him again. That being said, it is still a difficult class. I spent 5-6 hours a week doing Acc homework. The tests are complicated, but he gives a good study guide for each exam. You reap what you sow in this class. He curved the grades down too.
I am not one for accounting, but Stice made this class more than bearable. He is an excellent lecturer, and explains the concepts on a level anyone can understand. There are lots of quizzes and homework, but if you put in the time you will get the A. Stice is extremely generous and willing to help his students. TAKE FROM HIM!
Professor Stice is a professional at teaching Acc 200, he has been teaching it for years. His syllabus and online material show you step-by-step what you need to do to get an A in the class. If you do all the practice exams, none of the actual exam questions will be a surprise. He is hilarious and makes accounting so fun!
I took Melissa Larson for ACC 200 before Professor Stice. He's much more understandable and engaging.. His lectures are just the right amount of info, and he keeps the energy going the entire time. I'm not doing accounting but in a way I wish I was cause I'd take him over and over. You HAVE TO stay on top of things to pass. Tough but fantastic.
An amazing professor. Accounting is a hard subject but if you put in the hard work for his class, he gives you EVERY tool you need to succeed. His class made me like accounting enough to major in it. He makes thorough practice tests and the textbook is full of VERY helpful videos of himself walking you through everything you learn. I LOVE Stice.
You work hard to get a good grade in this class, but you have every tool you need. Before every test he makes a study guide that has problems similar to every question on the test (only different numbers). DO IT! He is incredibly funny and all the classes are highly engaging. Highlight of my freshman year and I looked forward to class every week.
I took this class in order to become a Finance major. Material was taught in a very understandable way. As long as you stay on top of things, you'll do great. I enjoyed Prof Stice's class so much that I even thought about applying to Accounting program as well.. Great professor!
Probably my favorite teacher this semester. His 75 minute lectures seemed like they were only 15 minutes. He's hilarious and knows how to teach the material so everyone can understand. Take Earl Stice's class.
Prof. Stice is great. This class was brutal and really difficult to learn the material, but Stice makes the material exciting. He really understands what he is teaching and does well to help others understand it by using terms understandable to students unlike a lot of business professors who expect you to understand and apply bizarre terms.
Stice is the best teacher. The class is brutal. In class days were easy as long as you take notes. Online days were the worst. You watch at least three 40 minute videos along with practice problems that take hours. Make time for this class. The tests are incredibly difficult. Make sure you can ace the practice exams. Do the practice problems.
Going to Professor Stices class is like going into a stand-up comedy session and still learning a lot. Hes such a witty guy. He provides many resources to help students succeed. However, for those who arent as familiar with accounting, devote a TON of time if you want the good grade. I didnt have enough time to succeed like I wanted. DIFFICULT.
I never thought that accounting could be fun and interesting until I took Professor Stice. His lectures were hilarious but very applicable to what we were learning. It is accounting, so the material and tests are hard, but Stice helps you get through it all. Great professor and great class.
Don't know how much longer he'll be teaching, but take Stice if you can. He is a RIOT. I've also never had a professor be so detailed about EVERY single assignment. It's a tough class with a ton of quizzes, but you have every single resource needed to do well. I aced the final just by muscle memory. Stice for President.
This guy is a total jerk to students, but the class material is pretty easy. Accounting is not very difficult but if you fall behind you wont make it. Annoying quizzes 3-4 times a week. You wont have any idea what your grade is until the course is over because he doesnt use LearningSuite, so have fun with that.
I have taken over 60 credits at BYU and I can easily say that he is the best professor I have had. This class is hard and it is unforgiving, but if you dedicate 5 plus hours a week doing work out of class you will succeed. If you do the study guide a few times before the test you'll pass.
Stice is one of the best professors at BYU. He supplies you with more than enough materials to get an A in this class. The exams are so similar to the practice exams that if you can nail the practice exams, you'll do fine on the real exams. Be prepared to put in a lot of work into this class, but it's definitely worth it. Hard class, great prof.
Stice is a clown, but loves accounting and loves his students. He's an excellent teacher and can explain difficult concepts super well. a very entertaining lecturer.
I am in the accounting program because of Stice. His lectures were the highlight of my week I sometimes wanted to go his other classes just to hear him lecture. Hilarious guy. This was also the most rewarding class i have ever taken. The practice exams helped SO much and they were spot on. He gives you everything you need to get an A.
Great guy and extremely helpful. If you can take accounting from him, please do it. Between the practice exams and all the other resources provided, you'll have everything you need to achieve an A. One of the best professors at BYU.
It is so important to attend the lectures so that you can do well. He is funny and a great lecturer but accounting is still pretty hard. He gives you great resources and help to not fail and I would recommend him!
Not going to lie, this class makes you work for an A. It does not matter which section you are in though, because the class is standardized across the department. Stice is the best it gets. He is organized, experienced and engaging. There is a lot of content and you cannot get behind or you quickly will be lost. I learned so much.
I loved Stice's class! Accounting can be a bit hard but he gives you the tools you need to do well. There are frequent quizzes on LS and he makes study guides and video reviews for each exam. You'll have to do a bit of studying but if you work for it, you can get a good grade. He made me really enjoy accounting. Hybrid online/in person
Professor Stice is an excellent teacher and makes ACC 200 a pretty fun class to take. His online lectures are excellent (the class is 1/2 online and 1/2 in class) and he explains things very thoroughly. This said, this class does cover a lot of material and is a tough class. I definitely learned a lot though
Stice is the best accounting professor. I'd recommend him to anyone. I'm not a business major but he's such a funny guy that I looked forward to going to lecture each week. The class is very well-structured and it's not too hard to get an A as long as you do each practice test like 3x in a row before taking the real thing. 10/10 recommend stice.
Stice is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He's absolutely hilarious. Study hard for his tests, they're a killer. Take advantage of his Second-Chance Exams and the Practice Exams. Accounting isn't easy, but Stice makes it enjoyable.
Professor Stice is super funny and his lectures are entertaining. Theres lots of reading and videos to watch before class. There is always a pre-class and post-class quiz. His exams are super difficult but the nice thing about this class is that you could retake the exams up to 3 times and get up to an 80% so you're kind of guaranteed a B+ overall
If you do it in the spring or summer, get ready for the most tedious nonsense of your life. Accounting is awful and Professor Stice, to put it in a nice way, puts it out in a lazy fashion. Maybe he is too busy doing research? I don't know but the class is a 2-1 class which is obnoxious, and boring. Not overly hard. For me, it was a means to an end.
A funny guy with passion for accounting; he makes the class more bearable, relatable, and interesting. I took the Hybrid section (1 online class & 1 In-class per week) which gave nice flexibility. He spaces everything out well enough. The hardest part : THE EXAMS. The practice exams are 2 levels easier than what you actually see on the exams.
He just seems like one of the greatest accounting minds in the world. Very hard class, but he lets you know what you need to do. Papers aren't really papers-they're actually pretty fun. He can be pretty funny, too.
I loved Professor Stice! The class content was difficult but he made it easier to understand. He is very straightforward with assignments and provides lots of resources to study from. This class requires a lot of studying, but if you stay on task it's not too bad. Would 100% recommend!
Stice is the best!! I am planning on majoring in accounting because of how much I liked this class! The class is definitely tough but he is super organized and really knows what he is talking about.
Best professor I have had at BYU. Really does a great job of making the student understand the concepts. ALways debit expenses! ill never get him out of my head!
Accounting wasn't my favorite class, but Stice made it bearable. The tests were pretty tough and that's what made the class so unbearable for me. But the good thing is he offers retakes and you can retake it for up to an 80%. Use the TA labs as much as you can.
He will give you all the materials necessary to do well in the class. You will never lack of material to study and to check up on your progress. There's no reason not to do well in the class if you want to. However it is hard.
One word: Legend
Incredible man. I'm an accountant because of this class.
He's absolutely hilarious. If you get offended by him, you need to relax and take a joke. 409 was new this year and was kind of annoying with the work, as it was inconsistent. The final was super hard, so make sure you review the slides and know how to redo problems from class and hw quizzes. Interesting topics though! Have fun!
