Mr.Snider is a very funny man, uses humour in his lectures and is easy going. And if you don't know anything about MHI....YOU WILL! oh yes, YOU WILL!

Pretty comical individual. (Gotta love the story about associational sex, haha). Tests are quite easy. The only flaw is that he focuses on MHI too much and NOT on the sociological perspectives. Take his class anyway - entertaining & easy.

Extremely prepare well thought out classes. Tells you what he expects and is a very easy marker. No essays.

Really good prof. He's funny and explains everything clearly. I look forward to his classes.

Great prof, easy class just know the definitions from the text, and the definitions given in class and you're golden.

He has a very unique style of teaching but it keeps you interested. As long as you can take directions and read there really is no excuse to not getting great marks. He has his essay exam questions on the internet all year so you have more than enough time to prepare. Definately a good professor to have!

He was a really great teacher. Very opionionated, and had really interesting outlooks on the topic. Complained a lot about the text book, and the general ignorance of others regarding sociology. He had a good sense of humour, and he marked fairly easy. He also tells you exactly what is expected on exams.

Awesum prof! as long as you go to class and know your definations from the book there is no reason that you should not get a B or higher with him.

He is an EXCELLENT prof! Seriously if you want to do well then take his class. He tells you exactly what he expects from you and if you attend class you will have no issues. He requires for all exams that one set of definitions be recited, and if you can do that, you have nothing to worry about!

In order to survive with Snider *MEMORIZE* verbatim what the definition of MHI is and its uses. Next, he says he despsies the text - he really doesn't because the exams are filled with questions from it! You must attend class as no notes are online though. If you want to learn about Sociology though, Snider is where it's at.

Great class, even better prof. Take this class (or any other class with him) if you get the opportunity. Don't worry about the MHI, he gives you the definition on the first day and he also posts it on blackboard.

OUTSTANDING. Must attend class because he uses a lot of his own knowledge and definitions that are not in the textbook - he does not post lecture notes online. Extremely fair exams, and is very friendly towards students - always wanting to personally get to know them. Replies to emails quite promptly, and is ALWAYS on time for class.

He uses his own theory for everything, and is so repetitive when it comes to examples in class, he'll go on for twenty minutes about the same examples that half the time don't even make sense. His exams are pretty easy but his teaching is pretty annoying. He's very high on himself and his theory of teaching that isn't in the text.

If you go to his lecture you will do good, DO NOT MISS LECTURE #1!.... I found him ignorant toward anything that was not HIS MHI theory also a tad odd and annoying. He undermines the text every class but I found it to be a helpful tool. He is a very smart man, how would you know? Because he tells you!!

Great prof, interesting class. Had me engaged the entire time. Very smart man, and as many complaints as he does receive. He makes it SO easy. Be thankful, attend all his lectures and memorize his MHI. (He tells you this from the first day on, not his fault if you don't listen).

His class is very interesting and quite easy if you ATTEND class because he uses mostly all his own theories. attend class and you will do good!

He's a very smart man, but I find he can be kind of a boring prof. He obviously knows his material, but for some reason I just dreaded going to his class..

Try to take this as a summer school course because it's a nice break and quite relaxing. Go to class, his written section of exams requires you to know his own MHI definition and chart, word for word. He goes through multiple examples in class about how he expects you to answer the written section and it's very helpful. He's very kind!

Dr. Snider is a very intelligent and fun prof! He has a great sense of humour and I very much enjoyed attending his classes. He is clear with what he expects of his students and gives you many opportunities to help you understand and get help. Overall I will be seeking out and taking more of his classes!

One of the best Profs I've had. He is really funny and he always keeps the class entertained with his funny jokes or comments. Attendance is pretty mandatory because he tests from his theories he teaches in class, not much from the text book. You have to memorize a chart and a definition for the midterms and the final word for word, its easy marks!

He was very clear about his expectations from the very first class. He tells you from the very first day what he wants and if you pay attention there is no reason you should not get a good mark. He is also very good about getting back to you if you have a problem. I would recommend him as a prof.

A bit of a mad scientist who uses his own theories. Most of the class is spent using examples of whatever point he is trying to make by showing newspaper articles on an overhead projector. The strength of this is the articles are usually pretty interestingfunnyridiculous so it's easy to follow. A bit strict for my liking but I'd recommend him.

Amazing lectures. Easy to pass midterms if you attend all the lectures and pay attention as he tells you clearly how to do the written response, word for word what he wants.

I seriously hope some people see this and jump at the opportunity to take his class. My class was 3 hrs once a week and I couldn't wait to get back. He's hilarious and easy to understand. Really drives the topics home so acing the exam is possible. Didn't even read the text, but you must show up to class!

Really like Dr Snider (don't call him by any other name, lol). Great lecturer, incredibly experienced and a humanist. Anecdotes that help you understand the issues he's teaching and he lets you know exactly what you need to do well on exams. Although I actually missed the theory we didn't focus on, his MHI is hugely helpful to understand sociology

I really liked his class, he told students what he expected. Make sure you know the table because it shows up on EVERY exam.

I saw okay reviews on here so I thought I would try him out. I'm glad I did. Snider made the curriculum so he knows what he's talking about. He has his funny moments but everything is clear cut. He doesn't post notes on Blackboard but that motivated my butt to class. As long as you read the textbook and know MHI you will pass with flying colours.

Great prof. Understands that the content can be a little dry so tries his best to crack some jokes. Does not post notes on blackboard and tends to move a little too fast but will go back if you ask. Gives you the long answer in advance for all of his exams. Easy gpa booster. Memorize mhi. Would gladly take another class with him.

Excellent prof, exams are simple as long as you read the textbook. Really nice and funny guy.

He's a great prof. He makes sure the material is crystal clear, uses lots of examples. He puts all of his notes up on the overhead, a bit old-fashioned but it works. He doesn't put anything on Blackboard. If you don't go to class, you won't pass. If you attend every class and study, you will pass. Very easy class if you're not lazy.

Three exams and that's it. You know exactly what the long answer is and its very easy to get 100 on the long answer because of that.

Dr. Snider is one of the best profs I have ever taken a class with. He is hilarious, brutally honest, and I look forward to class every week. Tests are completely straight forward and there is no reason not to get an A unless you skip class all of the time. I would definitely take more classes with him.

Easy prof, however you need to the textbook to pass. Lectures are also really boring.

Earle Snider is an awesome prof. There are two midterms (MC and short answer questions). The short answer is really easy and is repeated on every exam including the final. I suggest attending lectures and reading the textbook to do well on the MC questions.

Loved the lecture. The class was memorable. Earle really knows his stuff! He will prepare you completely for the written portion of your exams. Multiple choice was a mixture of lecture and textbook. Many questions were based on little textbook factoids and stats. Go to lecture little to no notes are posted online!

Earle is a great prof, he pulls the knowledge needed out of the text book into his notes and goes through thoroughly in each topic so you understand the material. He allows students to ask questions throughout the class too. The long answer question is easy, it's always the same, definitely an easy 30 marks (must know them word for word).

His class is super easy, he tells you exactly what he wants, and he's a funny little man. He also will argue with you which is pretty funny.

Amazing prof for soci 100. 3 tests- 2 midterms 30%, and a final 40%. 10 marks on every test is memorizing something he gives you at the start of the term. (The same for every exam, free 10 marks) Class is super easy, show up pay attention, read your book before the exam and youre set. 3 chapters per exam non-cumulative. Perfect 1st year class

I really enjoyed the classes they were easy to follow along to and he made it really easy to get 100% on the short answer questions on the exams. Exams were based off in class notes and textbook notes, which makes it difficult if you have to miss because they are not on black board. Overall i would take another class from him, very friendly

He is a little weird but such a great prof. Cares for his students, lets you know what will be on the tests. Every written part on the two midterms and final are the exact same thing so that makes it really easy. Take notes, and skim through the chapters that will be on the test and you'll do fine

Very straightforward teaching strategy. Lectures were interesting. Let you leave early almost every class. Tests and final were on no more then 3 chapters. Impossible not to ace the written on exams.

Great prof and has clear expectations. The course does require textbook reading but is pretty general and the written is easy on all 3 exams. Show up and pay attention and you will do well in the class.

Earle Snider is an absolute P.I.M.P. Seriously, 50 Cent wrote that song about him. His lectures are interesting, but you have to go to them as he does not post online. Only 2 midterms and a final, which all contain the same written response so its easy to get high marks. Textbook was tested on the MC portion on exams but it was not overly hard.

He makes class so interesting. He is hilarious and knowledgeable. He does not post any notes online so you do need to attend. His tests are fair and he gives instruction prior.

He was a really good teacher who made it very clear what was expected of you. If you want to pass his class you need to be prepared to read the textbook - that's the only thing he tests off of. He's very passionate and makes sure you know that he's the best teacher in the subject. At times class can be awkward because of his very large ego.

Best instructor! Easy class, just show up, not all of the notes are posted online. You also must read the textbook because a lot of info is not covered in the lectures but will pop up on the midterms. The class has 2 midterms and a final, THATS IT. He's very smart and makes the class entertaining with his humour. Would take again if I could.

Professor Snider has a very distinct way of teaching intro sociology. He has you memorize one concept and puts it on every midterm. Dr. Snider is very comical and his lectures are quite entertaining. I would definitely take a class with him again if the chance arose

Dr. Snider was one of the best professors I have experienced thus far at Macewan. He is extremely funny, and marks decently easy. If you memorize three definitions, you already have 100% on the written response on exams. Read the textbook for the other multiple choice. Great class.
