I love Dr. Bracey. He is very intelligent and he captures the attention of the class. I love the debates we have. I go to class every day excited to see what happens. His tests are difficult but he helps you out by giving you study questions. I give him an A!

Dr. Bracey demands a lot from his students, but you also get to learn a lot about our government and political process, which I really enjoyed. He is very knowledgable and pretty helpful, but kind of intimidating, although I don't think he means to be that way. He really opens your mind and makes you look at issues in different way. Had Dr. Bracey for Black History and he works you HARD. The tradeoff is you will learn more than you ever thought you would and come away all the wiser. Come to this class ready to work and you will be thankful you did! Dr. Bracey is great and definitely one of the best at CCSN.

I wasn't looking forward to taking political science AT ALL prior to this class, but Dr. Bracey's lectures turned out to be very interesting and I highly respect him. He's tough and gives out a lot of work, but you'll be just fine as long as you just complete all of the assignments!

Dr. Bracey is a really fair proffessor. His class is not hard or easy, it all depends on the student. Read your material and take very good notes, study for the finals and you will pass his class. I strongly recommend Dr. Bracey's class for anyone. I am more involved in Politics after taking his class, and I never was before.

Excellent professor, he is strict. You have to attend every class or you could end up being lost. Tests are all done essay style very hard but stick with it gets easier after first one. There is alot of writing in this class and reading. Never thought I would like this class and I look forward to going now.

He was one of the best teacher I have had at CSN. His class is very interesting and he points out a lot of issues with our government. I recommend you take this class. He might ask a lot from you, but don't drop the class! Do what is expected and you will most likely get a good grade and you will gain the knowledge of our government!

Incredibly interesting discussions, he really gets a person thinking about the way the world is today. The movies are certainly not PG-13, nor are they insulting however. Lack of a pre-set assignment schedule did throw me for a loop, but he does tell you the next assignment well in advanced.

Dr. Bracey is the best teacher i have probably ever had. He is very educated and knows how to interact with students. I never would have thought i would ever like politics but after being in Dr. Braceys class i have a totally appreciation for the class and his teachings. Dr. Bracey is not an easy A. The man has a double doctorate and knows what he's talking about. He is very liberal, BUT is willing to accept other opinions as long as they are presented respectfully. He requires you to actually THINK and if that's a problem, find another course. You can get an A, if you put the work in.

He is a great professor. Very liberal, and blames EVERYTHING on Republicans/Conservatives. If you are a conservative, be prepared to argue. Accepts all opinions as long as you can back them up. Overall a great professor.

Professor Bracey is very liberal and funny too. He is entertaining and knows what he is talking about! He does assign way too many book reviews and his handwritting is pretty messy but overall if you come to class do your assignments and atleast half-ass study you will get an A!

Dr. Bracey's lectures usually lean on the democratic/liberal side, so I do not recommend this class if you're a republican. A lot of reading, all of his exams are essay format, one group presentation, one book report, one research paper and five movie reviews. Extra credit for perfect attendance. Definately too much work. This professor thinks that his is the only class on campus. However, you do learn about US politics and that's what counts. If you don't want the extra work (and it's way too much), don't take his class, though.

Dr. Bracey does give quite a bit of HW, but it's not hard. This is a college/university class, so don't expect it to be super easy. Attendance mandatory, 1 presentation, 1 book report, 1 research project, 5 movie reviews, and 3 tests. He lets you take the test questions home, so if you fail a test is your fault. If you do your work, you'll get an A

If you are a conservative dont take this class. I enjoyed it becuase I share the same views as him. Hard work, but do-able. very funny, likes to swear. Dont take this class if you dont like swearing.

Ok look i am currently taking his class and i should be expecting an a or b if you do all your work pay attention in class you should be good. The work load is a bit much but he isnt a harsh grader. I hateee politics but he makes it interesting, and really easy. and he's actually really funny. if you do all of the assignments you're set, and there's really not that many. there's no hw at all. And on the first day he makes it seem as though his class will be extremely difficult, but it's NOT. GREAT TEACHER!

Bracey is a fun teacher, so long as you're there to be entertained and not to soak in his teaching. Easy grader. He requires three books but I've managed to get a low A with only the one for the book report and less than one chapter out of the other. Textbook not needed. Show up on time and do your homework and expect a high B at least.

Dr.Bracey is a hard teacher but he is one of the best psc teachers. He goes through everything in dept and makes sure you get the facts right. He does have a heavy work load so be prepared for that. But other than that i recommend him, especially if you want to learn a thing or two about the government and stuff.

A huge workload, but nothing impossible if you really want the grade. 15 extra credit pts if you attend all days. Dr. Bracey is an extremely knowledgeable man that is very passionate about political science. I learned so much in his class. Yes, he gives out a lot of work, but it's worth it. What people say about him giving out poor grades for disagreeing with him is completely bull. I disagreed with him many times in my papers, and I passed with an A.

I learned more in this class than in many others. This is a class for those who like to think, not ones looking for an easy A or who like to sleep in class. Although, if you do the work it is an easy A. He is opinionated but what man of his age isn't? If you want to learn how politics rule the world we live in Dr. Bracey will do just that.

Awesome teacher. At first I was worried, because he was Liberal, while I was Conservative... But Dr. B changed all that. I wasn't forced to, but he forced us to look at the facts, and I love that. He's funny, nice, but can be a little on the strict side. However, if you do the work, it really isn't that bad. Just make sure you take good notes.

He does give a lot of work but we are at a college level. Three test that are essay form. Hardest is the first test (take home) he'll review before the test. Presentation, 1 research paper, book report on a book he wrote, movie reviews. movie reviews are 10 pts and all the other stuff is 100 pts. I didnt do the research paper and I still got a C

The most intimidating prof I've had thus far, but it's more to temper his students rather than bully them. Assigns a lot of reading and essays, but it's nearly all relevant. Be prepared for a presentation and tests that will make your wrists scream. Other than that, he's super charismatic and knowledgeable--but not a pushover by any means.

One of the best professors iv encountered on CSN. He is a lot to handle, especially if youre a conservative, but we always end up laughing in his class. 5 movie reviews, one MANDATORY book report, and three essay type tests. love this class.

Probably one of the best professors I've ever had. I am a loyal conservative and loved to hear his points of view although I didn't agree with them. This class taught me the meaning of a TRUE college course, as the level expected commitment is tremendous. So he asks you to read his book, big deal, he more than makes up for it by what you learn.

I had him for his African American History class. The lectures are interesting and he has a lot of insight to offer. His tests however are ridiculousness. 1 question will have 7 different "mini questions" all of which must be answered. It's a lot of work, but if you show up and act like you're serious about your grade he is understanding.

After almost dropping his class i decided to stick with it and im glad I did. He has a strong liberal view and will push it pretty bad, but overall its cool. He does assign alot of writing but its spread out so you should be fine. If you read and do your work ahead of time you will pass. He makes the class seem difficult but its not.

I took Dr. B this semester & although this class has a pretty heavy workload for a 101 class, everything is laid out 4u! The class is very open ended with a lot of "rhetorical" questions that he will ask, but he wants your opinion so speak up! you do need 3 textbooks 4 the class, there is a group project & mandatory attendance but hes a great prof!

I don't care what anyone says about Dr. Bracey, he is an excellent professor. Don't take his class if you don't want to think, and read. He demands a bit more from his students, and this is a good thing.

He was really demanding but if you do all the work and study vigorously you'll pass the class with flying colors.

Very liberal but not a bad teacher at all! He's very passionate about the subject. It's a lot of work but his grading isn't too hard. There's a group project though and groups are chosen at random. Tests are hard and taking notes is pretty much necessary because he says a lot of important stuff that isn't in the book.

This class is a large workload but his grading is easy. He has a take home test and open book test and then cites the questions to you for the last test. Great teacher and be ready to take notes since that's what most of the test are based off of. Easy to get an A as long as you go to class everyday and turn in all the work.

Dr. Bracey seems like a jerk but he really isn't. As the class continues on, he'll warm up to you and will relax a bit more. He just wants his students to do well. HE WILL GET ON YOU IF YOU: bring your phone to class, don't bring your book, and don't take notes. Otherwise, he's cool.

Attendance is a must. 15 extra points added to final grade if you have perfect attendance. Heavy work load but, it's not that hard. Class discussions. NO CELL PHONES. Always have your books. This professor is great! He comes off a bit strong but will loosen up later in the semester. Make sure you show up and read from the textbook. He WILL call on you. His grading scale is lenient but he does not grade on a curve. You need 2 textbooks 1 is optional if you choose to do the book report. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Bracey is an excellent teacher, very passionate, and he is indeed demanding. Expect to do a lot of reading and writing, a 40min oral presentation, and challenging tests, but it's a very informative course. I highly recommend.

If you are easily offended do not take this class. Dr. Bracey is a great professor. A lot of work but very simple. He's old school, does not use angel/canvas. Willing to help anyone that needs it. He will drop vulgar language a lot. Overall, nice and honest guy.

Simple work but lots of it. For example, 10 page research paper and a hour long presentation. He's a Liberal (big deal). SUPER EASY GRADER!! He will come of intimidating at first but very very nice man. Attendance is mandatory. Three textbooks. I used old editions, no problem. Pretty funny as well. He is proud to be black.

He pushes his views on you & if you dont agree he will make you look stupid in front of the whole class, best to keep quiet/agree. 10 pg paper, must watch movies and write two page papers on them. weekly chapter readings. Great teacher. He kinda pushes his personal philosophy in the class a lot (he's a liberal Democrat) but otherwise he's a great teacher and he grades leniently. Plus, take home midterm!

Incredibly interesting. Went from no interest to buying books about the subject to read for fun. Very intimidating first week of summer classes, likely to scare off those not serious. Easy questions and grading, but LOTS OF WORK: 1st test is take-home but must be at least 14 pages typed. Strong views: not a class to take if you're opinionated.

He was the reason why I lean to the left like I do. But he is also the reason to always question my thoughts, reasons, and logic. This man is a genius.

The first day be prepared.... shut off your phone, sit up front , and grow up people. Dr Bracey is known to drop Fbombs and says it like it is, He is an AMAZING Profession, and has lots to offer.. He is passionate about what he instructs but also includes lots of modern information and helpful handouts, I wish I had him for more classes! Love Him!

PSC 101 was clear cut. He informers the student of what is expected and what you're expected of him. It is A LOT OF WORK, procrastination is not a favorable. The class at first was very intimidating, but he tells you exactly what he wants from you the first day of class. 5 film reviews, a ten page research paper, a group presentation, 3 exams and a book review. Definetly one of the harder courses i have taken & you really do have to work for your grade, but you learn so much! He is a great human being with alot of knowledge , you can pass this class he is very tough with work but he is a chill grader.

Dr. Bracey is very knowledgable, wise, and respectable. Like others have said, he does assign a lot of work. However, if you are willing to put in the time and effort, you will learn a great deal. He is a super easy grader. Although Dr. Bracey is opinionated has strong views, he does let students express their opinions and views as well.

A LOT of homework, but is an easy grader. Gives +25 ec book report- do it. Don't miss class- he calls roll every day. He's strict, but also funny. The tests are mostly from his notes, not the book- but you still need to read/bring book to class everyday. Write his notes in the book so you can use on 1st 2 exams. Final is closed book/no notes.

Dr Bracey does give you lots of homework, but is a soft on grading. Do the work and he can tell. He is passionate about the subject and is able to give information that will be useful in real life. Stick it out, attendance is mandatory, you will learn a great deal. The class is 4 credits, so amount of work reflects this. I would take him again!

This was taken in the summer (6 weeks). He was very understanding. Everything he says is factual. Test requires a page and a half... If you study, it will be easy to write. We did a book report, research paper, 2 articles, 3 exams (one was open book, one was take home, the last had no sheets or books but topics were not many). Amazing class!

Professor Bracey was honestly a very tough professor, very old-fashioned but he was a very easy grader, but if you listen to his lectures carefully, take good notes, and participate you can pass this class.

I LOVED Dr. Bracey's class. You really learn something from him and he makes political science fun. Class is more enjoyable if you like to read and write, and he is very old school and doesn't like tech besides pen and paper. But this was one of the best college classes I've ever taken. took this professor a while back, I really enjoyed his class ( maybe because I'm into politics) I learned a lot, his class was very hard and too much work but hey it was either this or 2 history classes, (respect him, participate, and try and you will pass).

Dr. Bracey is a excellent professor. He always know what he is talking about without bias. You can earn an A if you work hard.

Dr. Bracey is a fair-minded professor who only want you to learn something about politics. He is a fair graded, and back up his opinions with facts. He never lied to us. And he told us from the very beginning that he was a progressive liberal, and proud of it. You can learn a lot if you put your prejudices aside.

As of Fall 2017. I WOULD NOT TAKE MORE THAN 2 OTHER CLASSES ALONG WITH THIS CLASS!! The class is 2 classes rolled into one. We had 10 page research essay, along w/ 5 movie reviews essay. A group presentation we had to talk about an entire chpt in one of the textbooks. A book report. We had 3 textbooks too. Essay tests, PLUS MORE!!! BE WARNED

He is an amazing professor and is incredibly smart he is hard to read sometimes but then he will make a joke he's actually pretty funny lots of homework and assignments but overall easy grader if u do the work and show up u will pass

I learned a lot from Dr Bracey. He make sure you earned them 4 credits. Overall, he is a very intelligent professor. I really enjoy his pedagogy. I recommend him if you're hard working student.

I really enjoyed his class. I always hated politics and everything it stood for, but he taught us much more than that. I was intimidated by him at first but he turned out to be my favorite professor. If you are a slacker this class probably isn't for you. You have to work for your grade but it isn't difficult if you attend class and pay attention.

Very extreme teacher for a very extreme class. The hardest part is the heavy workload. He is extremely opinionated and pushes opinions. He is well respected. Very liberal and teaches mostly liberal viewpoints. If you do the work and come prepared, you'll be good. That being said, I learned so so much from this class and it was worth it.

All the required books are ones he wrote and they're hella expensive they won't help on the exams but the essays are on his books. you learn a lot and I enjoyed his lectures.

Dr. Bracey is the best political science professor at CSN. He is a touch grader, but you learn a lot about politics. You must be willing to do the work to earn an A in his class. This professor is a great man.

he is an amazing teacher and while yes strict he prepares you for the real world were late assignments are not taken. he has 3 main books he teaches from and 1 extra credit assignment. he is a wonderful person to give lecture and hear him talk. he does give credit and points for participation in class. he is great overall.

In general, he was a good professor. While VERY opinionated, he isn't so much so that he'll omit information. Overall, I'll say that he have gotten me far more politically inclined than I ever was before, even if I have no interest in the field. He is a tough grader and will not accept excuses AT ALL. Follow directions carefully and you'll be fine.

Dr. Bracey is a great professor. His passion for teaching and hope for the future of our country is evident in his lectures, and he has valuable insight beyond his academic career from participating in the civil rights movement/Vietnam war/Gulf war.
