Super nice, super easy. Great teacher.

I LOVE EBEN. He takes attendance using clickers, always lets us out 15 minutes early, and is lovely to look at. He loves geography so much that he wants his students to love it too. Tests are extremely easy if you review the powerpoints that he puts online and he gives bonus points during class. I wish I could take him again.

all his tests were super easy. usually gave you around 50 questions and you only had to answer 40, and each question only had a max of 3 options. lectures aren't too bad and he is actually pretty funny. has clicker questions, but if a lot of people miss the question he will repoll them. offers up to 10% of your final grade worth of extra credit.

The class is easy. His powerpoints are very detailed and test questions come straight from them. Homework due before most class periods but it's easy. Gives bonus points if you answer questions in class and has a cumulative portion on the final that's extra credit. Got out early pretty often, shows videos, would take again.

Fun lectures, online homeworks, videos, woudl recommend!

Great teacher, will give redo's on quiz questions if the majority of class doesn't understand clearly. Tests are not impossible and very reasonable. Remember clicker questions and do homework. Clicker questions are over half of the tests so study those, and remember the major concepts. If you don't make an A you need to rethink the way you study.

Eben is a cool guy, and he gives out bonus points in class if you answer a question. I'm not very good at science, but I did okay in this class because he helps you out. Definitely take him for GY 101.

I would recommend this class to anyone who needs a natural science credit. This class is interesting, fun and not very hard at all. Take Dr. Broadbent- he gives extra credit every lecture, clicker question also raise your grade significantly and the homework is not tough at all (a quiz online once a week).

As long as you go to class (because there is clicker attendance) you will do good in the class! He is super entertaining and lecture is never boring. Def take this class

Broadbent is a great teacher. Realizes that many of his students are not actually science majors and makes the course easy enough to not just get the credits needed but also a very good grade. Put forth decent effort and expect an A in the class

Professor Broadbent is awesome. The lectures are pretty boring, but he tries to make them interesting . He doesn't take attendance, but there are clicker questions for a grade every class (he often lets you redo them if you get them wrong). I am taking GY101 with Broadbent as an elective course, and I am so glad that I did. If you show up to class and answer clicker questions (that you talk to others about in order to answer), do the 5 question homeworks, and study even a little for the exam, you can do very well in his class.

I am taking GY 101 with Mr. Broadbent. Although, he does not take attendance he gives you clicker questions daily that count as a grade and also many extra credit opportunities. You have homework twice a week that include 5 questions online. The test are pretty straight forward and come straight from his notes/power points. Great teacher.

Broadbent is pretty easy as long as you get the clicker questions right, do the online homework, and study the power points before the test. You don't really have to read the book so most of the work comes in class.

Class isn't too hard. The information is there if you are interested in geography as a major but it isn't hard if you aren't interested in geography.

Good professor, if you come to class and somewhat pay attention you will do well. Also, there is a required lab that is a little harder, but not too bad.

Pretty easy class. He flies through the lectures so there is not really time to take notes, but the tests are not all that difficult. The hardest part is the lab that goes along with the class.

If you have to take GY 101, take his class! This is overall one of the best classes I have taken at UA and would take any class with him again if i got the option! If you do not, you're making the worst decision of your life. His lectures are quite entertaining and of course, studious. He gives extra credit if you raise your hand. Roll Tide!

Homework is fairly easy about 5 questions for each chapter that you need to complete before the day he speaks about it in lecture.

Very helpful and laid-back, with entertaining and educational lectures. Usually has 3 tests and homework due online before every lecture, but isn't afraid to give opportunities for class participation (and bonus points). 10/10 would take again!

The class is definitely manageable. Attendance is mandatory and there are not too many tests. If you pay attention in class, you will do well on the tests.

Eben is a really nice guy and the work is manageable but I would recommend taking this class with lots of friends so you can help each other stay on top assignments. He moves quickly through slides but he posts his powerpoints and he reviews really well so it's not hard to keep up. I say definitely take this class if you need a credit.

There are a good bit of clicker questions but he is very leinient with them. His test are easy if you review the power points which he post. He is very nice and goofy.

He is a very fair teacher who uses the clicker for a graded assignment every single class. Makes the test easy and allows skips. lectures usually get out 10-15 mins early.

Eben is probably my favorite professor thus far in college. He gives you a chance at bonus points everyday and if you attend class, there's no possible way you could receive a grade lower than an A-. The clicker questions are a majority of the test questions, and he usually gives skips that you can use on questions you don't know or get wrong.

I'm just not that into Geography, but he was a good professor. Willing to help when he needs to, gives extra credit, and tries to make the lectures interesting.

He always works hard to make lectures interesting and fun, but sometimes he tries too hard and makes a fool of himself but that's not a bad thing! Gives bonus points for answering questions during lecture. I didn't do so well on the tests, but still passed because the majority of your grade will be attendance and participation (clicker questions).

Great professor, interesting lectures. Focus on the lecture slides for the exams, which he puts online. There are are many small homeworks to keep up with, but you can work with friends, and they only take a few minutes to complete.

Very passionate about Geography. Extremely understanding and will do whatever he can to help. Great teacher and keeps you interested throughout the lectures. This class is fairly easy with lots of grade boosters. Three attempts on the homework, bonus points in class and dropped questions on exams. You do have to attend class for clicker question. He's a funny guy and makes the class fairly interesting. My only complaint would be it takes a couple of weeks to get exam grades back.

10/10 would recommenced! Eben is always super excited to be there (even though he misses class to go to Coast Rica a lot) He gives a few clicker questions every day that count as part of your grade but are also the test questions so write them down. The lab isn't to bad. I haven't gotten lower that a 95 on any of them and science isn't my thing.

Broadbent was a cool guy. Fun to listen to and always played music. Clicker questions everyday so i would def. show up. tests were only 10% of your grade so not too stressful.

The easiest class you will ever take in college as long as you attend class. I got a 102 overall and didnt put much work into it at all. 30% on three tests total, 25% lab, 25% clicker questions, 20% Homework. He makes lectures very interesting and clearly teaches the material that is on the test. Test questions come directly from the powerpoints.

Honestly the best professor I've ever had! He's so willing to work with you and is very accommodating. He offers plenty of extra credit and basically makes it impossible to fail! Wish he was teaching 102 so I could have him again!

Mr. Broadbent is AMAZING. He wants you to learn and to enjoy the topic just as much as he does. The homework is not very hard and the test are pretty basic. I studied the notes and did just fine. Answer the questions he ask in class. They are for bonus and can really boot your final grade.

Dr. Broadbent is by far, one of the greatest professors I have had yet. He's a great guy that doesn't make his class any harder than it should be. Very willing to work with students too. He gives out a lot of extra credit. I ended the semester with an 89, and when I asked, he rounded me up to an A minus. Tests are straight from the powerpoints!

Dr. Broadbent is the teacher you want for GY101 by far! Recommended by a friend to me and I will continue the trend. He truly cares about his work and gives students the opportunity to learn and succeed. Class attendance is important as clicker questions count for a large percentage of your grade, but he makes it worth it. Definitely a great class!

For non science majors this is exactly what you want to take, the test are worth around 25% of your grade combined bc majority is made up of hw and clicker. But honestly he's the nicest teacher and he just "gets it".

Definitely the best teacher to have for GY101. Doesn't require much studying, but you do have to go to class to get credit for clicker questions. Really nice and helpful if you need anything outside of class.

Broadbent is a super quirky professor (in a good way). Everything is super straightforward and pretty easy. Clicker questions make attendance pretty mandatory. My one complaint is that he takes forever (as in weeks) to post test grades. Gives a good amount of extra credit though. Take him if you need a natural science credit.

Seriously the most awesome professor at Alabama. Makes the class fun because he's a cool guy. As long as you do your homework, lab, and clicker questions you will do fine in his class because he really wants you to do well. Awesome professor! A friend and I took this class together and we always looked forward to going to Dr. Broadbent's class. He makes a subject that might seem boring to some very interesting and he does a great of getting the class engaged in his lectures. If you need a Natural Science credit, take this class!!!!

He does not go by the textbook at all. Homework is easy, which does come from the textbook. Tests are not difficult and he offers bonuses throughout the semester.
