God bless him, he's a has his doctorate and he looks like he is 25. Other than that, he loves poetry and Alice Notley when no one else does. He feeds you the answers and maintains his humility and modesty in a room full of pretentious writers/actors and people with serious social issues. Great Guy.

Well besides of his good look, he is a great professor. I learned a lot in his class. I like the way he corrects the essays, he gives you a lot of feedback. His lectures are interesting. He is always there to help you with any concern that students may have. I recommend him 100%.

Very helpfull, got me interested in things I didn't expect. He is open to communication, loves poetry, abstract art (avant-grade,modernism) Basquiat, Warhol. Treats students with respect and dignity. A minus is that often his guidelines often not clear,however the communication compensate it.

It's unclear what he wants to see in your essay. Many students said that he performs on University level and is difficult,however if you have any question or unclear about something he ALWAYS is willing to clerify things. what can i say about Prof. wood other than he is an amazing educator. Topic which we briefly disccused in his class are all correlated whether most of us in the ENG 12H saw it or not. To Some the topic might be pretty boring since they draw alot on hisstorical events but these events are correlated to the pressing issue of the 21th century.

Amazing Professor. Made sure to have him again for Eng24! He'll help you whenever needed and is very understanding if you hand in a paper late and have a legitimate reason for doing so. He also likes to make the class fun and it's not just him standing there talking, he gets a whole discussion going.

First time I walked in his classroom, I was late. After a few minutes, I was very intrigued by the discussion that was going on in there. In fact, Eben Wood remains one of the best Professor I had at Kbcc because he had opened my third eye and made me realize that I can write while following the professor's intructions. It was my great pleasure to be in Prof. Wood's class. He is brilliant, sarcastic and extremely knowledgeable. I came into his class a budding writer, in the My Turn program,I left with three short stories which he said could be turned into novels or novellas. I am indebted to him for opening my eyes, and showing me that it's never too late!

He is a very nice professor. His literature class is not an easy A (just keep in mind). He assigns huge texts to read and many long essays to write. But he really does his job. He checks essays that you write word-by-word! From his class you learn a lot, especially grammar. The only complain is that he is not rough with lazy students.

Professor Wood inspires you to be a critical thinker, he also inspired me to start writing. The papers are 10 pages long but the topics you discuss cannot be fully developed in 3 pages anyway. It's very rare when you meet a professor who would be not just your instructor, but also your guide and friend. KBCC is very lucky to have Professor Wood!!

This man is brilliant. I'll confess: I'm a part of the Woods' cult. I've taken his Eng 12 and Eng 24 classes. The only problem with having Prof. Wood is that you are destined to be disappointed and practically depressed by all other instructors after that. Prof Wood is incredible! Workload is manageable--3-4 8-10 page papers based on books/movies.

While professor Wood gives a lot of assignments, the specific requirements to get an A are crystal clear. As long as you show up to class, listen to his lectures, participate, and do your assigned reading and writing, you'll get your A. If your writing is not up to par, he will leave great feedback and will provide ample chances to improve.

This is the hardest class I think I'll ever take at kingsborough. And it's only a Freshman English.

He is a great professor! very helpful and eventhough his lectures are kinda tough, he makes them as clear as possible. If you follow his directions and practice them, there is no chance for you to fail his class + he cares about attendance, keep that in mind

Don't expect this to be an easy English class, be prepared to write essays! His class was challenging but he was willing to help; he provided office hours and help people in class. The class was a bit intense because his first draft was due on one day, the second draft is due the day after and following a final draft.

To date Professor Wood is one of the best professors I have ever had. Since leaving Kbcc I still find myself missing this class. He is kind, well spoken, and a brilliant. However, this class was not easy. He knows what he expects and accepts nothing less. If you're willing to put in the work, the grade will reflect. He was a huge inspiration to me!

He gives really good feedback, I took his creative writing short story course and loved every moment of it. No reading book is assigned, no hard quizes, just tons of writing stories & sharing. WHo doesn't love that?

I must say he is the most brilliant teacher I have ever had. I have been in Kbcc for almost two years and out of all professors that I have had he is the best one. Not just as a professor but as a human being. He is very helpful, straight forward and knows what he wants from you. Be ready to have fun and take his class.

B+ plus rating is insulting. I give him A+. If you really want to learn something, he is the man, he is absolutely brilliant, he articulates himself very well. His explanations are pure honey and he is willing to give you the time of day. That being said he is blunt and he won't sugar coat things and be gentle if something needs work.

If you don't like to do work, don't take Prof. Wood. He has a gruff exterior and no patience for students who think they can come into class unprepared, but if you read what he assigns and just do what is asked of you, you will see how kind he really is. The books he assigned were difficult, but he guided us through with essential handouts.

I took his English 2 with honor. The material he used are three books about philosophy, and are really difficult. At the end he barely finished the main book 4 Chapters (20+ chapters total) He is quiet strict to the grade, you have to do every things well in order to get a good grade. 3 papers plus Midterm and final presentation, expects 10+ pages

Where to start? Prof. Wood is so a great professor, his lectures are very clear and he gives really good feedback. If you do the readings, papers and small assignments, you'll pass!! Be aware of pop quizzes, he makes sure that students are doing the readings! If you turn a paper 1 or 2 days late, he wont take points off unless it is the final paper

He's a great professor, he's willing to help when needed. He is very clear of what he is teaching and he expect a lot of his students. At the same time his expectation of what you wrote on your essays are very strict. There are times you might seem to express very clear in your own term but he want you to explain a lot more be very specific.

He is a great professor (never call him a teacher), he's funny at times and really helps you out when you need it. He's no easy A, you have to put in the work but it's worth it.

Professor Wood is one of the best English professors that I've had. I took him for English 12 and 24 honors and they were really tough courses, but it is also life changing. Professor Wood will really help you enhance your writing and prepare you for the four-year university that you want to attend. He is a tough professor that cares about his students. Also, he doesn't like when you come late to class, so try to have minimal absences. Don't be afraid to speak to him, take advantage of his office hours. Lastly, in regards to textbooks, there aren't textbooks that you will have to purchase but you will have to purchase reading material for the class; which you will have to write on. The reading material that he assigns is affordable and it is important to have the material in class!

I didnt know how to write for the life of me. He taught me out to be an A writers from being a C-. hes really good and will teach you with every step how to improve. I was going through something in school which led me to delay a bit in assignments. he heard what i had to say and extended it for me. Definitally take all his classes if you can!;)

Professor Wood isn't the typical professor, he actually wants to see his students succeed and provide the necessary resources and tools for us to do so. He gives good feedback to help his students progress. Generally its a joy to be in class, it isn't boring at all and his lessons makes one thinks and reflect upon life.

This man is no joke. His work is tough but I learned a lot from him. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. In class he's super strict and doesn't tolerate any non-sense but during office hours, he's still serious but not in a frightening way. Probably the best ENG professor in KBCC. Take him and he will prepare you good for your 4 years college. I just disagree on him on the subjects taught, but overall a very solid professor. Be ready to read and write routinely.

Although he was really rude and obnoxious at times (atleast to me) I gotta say, thats not really how he is. Hes nice, understanding and full of knowledge. He tends to speak a lot and I mean ALOT. All class time was basically lecture & almost all the writing was done at home. If you have a life outside of college, this class is going to be tough.

Dr. Wood is an incredible teacher. I had him for English 12 and I loved his class. The book we had to read was inspirational and I have caught myself reading it for pleasure. This Professor wants you to leave his class better than you came in. He truly will have you prepared to move on to a four year college, I would definitely recommend Dr. Wood!

Professor Wood is great! He is challenging, but he teaches you a lot. Be prepared for his class and do the work. Take advantage of his office hours and go discuss anything you don't understand. He gives great feedback. He just changed my entire understanding of how to pay attention on details in the readings and how to clearly state your ideas.

I had him last year, and looking now back I really admire him. he's so real and really makes you work hard for your grade. he taught so welll! and the amount of effort i had to put in- seeing now I don't regret any of it.

I took him in the Fall 2022 semester, 3 essays, a few writing assignments. He asked many specific questions in the writings so you need to think a lot. Just pay attention in class, and read through the materials. Be confident, you can let him look at your draft before submitting it, he gives great feedback. Your effort will pay off in the end.

He is a great professor. I had his ENG12, so ENG 24 was very similar to it; the writing method and the template/ format are the same as 12. The instructions are very clear and specific. It takes time to absorb what he said, I think the hard part is you need to understand the materials and be able to elaborate on them.

Prof. Wood is an intelligent person. Knows a lot about time and space philosophy. Gives very detailed feedback and his lectures are thought-provoking. Try to come on time, respect him, and be very organized student. He gives a lot of papers: assignments, readings, and instruction on how to format your essay and paper. Eben Wood runs a tough but rewarding class. His feedback is tough, but it really helps you improve as a writer. Use unstuck study and the free textbook to ace his assignments.

Overall, good class. The textbook is just a novel youll read throughout the semester. He is super understanding, just make sure you reach out to him and let him know. There are 3 essays, but because you do the homework's they are easy to do. The homework is just the outline of the essays,make sure you read the pages on time so you dont fall behind.
