This class already has an extremely low passing rate and this dude is simply indifferent. He comes to teach and feels like either you get it or you don't but, I did my part. He writes way too much on the board and in math lingo that none of us can get. Takeanother unless u like long hard lectures
The class is maaaad hard and he teaches way too fast. He basically copies from the bok so, if u don't get the book u will fail the class.
worst teacher ever. other comments are true. only smiled once in our class,b/c he made fun of us. rude, late a lot, doesn't help at all. quizes/tests are hard, must know material.

very hard to follow him, does not provide good problem explanations. Also, it seems that all he wants to "cover" as many chapters from the book as possible careless it was clear for class on not. Try to avoid his classes!
Lectures are clear, and very helpful. If you do your homework and understand it, you'll do well in class. He does homework problems that you don't understand and explains them. Normal teacher, nothing hard about him.

He is tough and does not keep you in the right track, he expects you to know everything. No one cooperates as a class.
This teacher sucks really bad, he expects you to know the material, when half the class doesnt. Dont take this teacher, 3 of my friends took him and failed him and so did i. He is really hard.
He takes for granted that students are in his class to learn the subject....not there because they already know it. He moves very quickly and expects you to know things that he does not even explain clearly
This teacher sucks! Do not take him. He arrives late to every single class and he is hard to understand. HE doesn't explain things well and moves to quickly. He thinks everyone in the class knows the material. Tests are super-duper hard and he doesn't make you do homework. If you want to fail.. take this class.
He is horrible!!! I am wonderfule at math and love it. I haven't take it for a year though. It's my fricken major! But I am failing becuase he cannot explain things, or can he teach. Class average is a fail. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM!!!!!!!
This teacher is pretty simple...all i did was take notes, go home , review the material and it was cake...i think everyone should take this class...best teacher i've ever had by far..and he's an easy grader!
He knows his stuff, but he is a little confusing. He never smiles, well, maybe once. Isn't very friendly. The class material isn't that hard, the tests basically follow his study guide, if you try SOME of the homework you'll do okay on the quizzes and understand the material for the tests.
Their is no way to get points in the class, homwe work consists of a daily quizz which have nothing to do with the material in the book. Nothing is clear, and he's rood to his students. He also shows up late to class every single day. If you take this class you will get burned.
Doesn't care about you as a student. He will not answer your questions and when he doesn't get an answer to his questions he will stare at you forever.
This teacher is not understanding expects you to know everything, does not give points their are quizzes everyday after class and he only gave 2 freebie quizzes throughout the semester!
A very ineffective professor. He knows his material, but teaches it to students as if they know it already. Very unfriendly and clearly does not enjoy teaching. Exams are very difficult and the class is one of the dullest I've ever taken.
DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! I am a 'A' and 'B' student and I completely FAILED his class. I went everyday, did the homework and still FAILED! You take 2 tests and both are extremely tricky, if you havent taken calc before, dont take it with him. He expects you to know everything already!
i had read this rating before i enrolled in his class and thought to myself, ya right, how hard can he be...BAD MISTAKE! u do the hw, but he doesnt collect it, u show up, he doesn't care, u study, its still hard as hell...plus he mentions before the final that there's only a 33% passing rate...(that sure helps!)...dont take him unless u wanna fail!
He wasn't very clear and he was very boring, teaching aspects of the subject that you really don't need to understand the material. He would explain himself if you needed help and he would take his time in making sure you understood but he is very strict in his teaching.
i had this professor for both Math 102 and 140. He is a horrible teacher for 102, but when it came to statistics... he is an awesome professor! he's very straight forward and easy! and you dont have to buy the expensive calculator for this class!! AWESOME PROFESSOR FOR STATS!!!

Great teacher. Very intelligent person, among all he is very understanding. He understand the individual's situation and helps out. When class material is difficult, he makes sure all understand the material. Very nice person. Very highly recommended.
I had this professor for both Math 102 and Math 104. Awesome teacher, he Knows how to make the material comprehensive for the class. One of the best teachers on campus.
3 words.. I HATE HIM !!! never seen him smiling once! he is one of the most unclear lecturer! he assumes that you know the subject already. he does not curve. his test are brutal! he does not collect the HW so you don't know where your mistakes are. Does not help personally at all. don't know what to say more. protest him, don't take his class!!!!!
Good teacher, you have to do ALL the homework and show up to take the quizzes and get points that will help your grade. If you expect to still be taigh like you're in high school, don't bother, this guy teaches at a level you should expect at a university.
Lectures are very boring, rewrites a lot of what is in the book. Homework is only collected on the day of the tests so theres never any feed back on what your doing except for the weekly quiz. Test and quiz problems usuall have some kind of twist to them and grades very harsly. Highest grade on the first test was a 75. Doesnt curve...either.
He's a very smart guy who knows his stuff but doesn't teach it as well as he could. His accent makes it hard to understand at times. The material could be hard or easy depending on your math skill level. For me it was hard, but the tests are fair and have no surprises. He gives lots of little quizzes.
Seriously, he's not a bad professor. Don't listen to those people who rate him poorly-- they seem to still think they're in high school where you aren't expected to THINK. Yes--you have to attend class,do homework, take quizzes and tests-- but if you give it the slightest bit of effort, you'll do fine!! He's pretty lax if he sees you trying.
Professor is tough. If you hate math, this professor is not for you. He is what should be considered "University" level instead of High school level of teaching. Attending class and doing HW alone won't get you a C. has 3 exams and one final. Final is worth 2 exam grades. All HW/quizzes are equal to 1 exam grade.
he is a teacher that definately knows his math however, he cannot teach AT ALL. i did all my homework, studied at least an hour a day for his class, studied for ALL quizzes and tests and worked my ass off for a C and i have never gotten less than an A in any math class...DO NOT TAKE HIM!
This is the toughest math teacher Ive taken. He knows his stuff but rushes through material making it hard to learn from the lecture. There is tons of hard homework that you can't do without the solution manual. We had 3 tests, and 2 of them were a week apart. Half the class dropped by the time finals came along. Take someone else if possible!

He's an ok professor. His lectures are a little boring, but if you ask questions he'll go back and explain. If you go to class and take notes, and do the homework, your grade should be ok. Just make sure to really review before the exams.
It's hard to make math interesting. His classes are ok. Collects the hw at different points of the semester. Tests are harder than average, although he did say that the test was the same for all Math 102 classes. If you are already really good at math then he should be faily easy for you. If not then be prepared to work harder!
This guy is tough!He knows his stuff, but does expect us to know it right away. For example, he shows us a theorem then at an instant, moves on without thorough examples.
He is an excellent teacher for those who have some foundation in Calculus. Some of my classmates have struggled since its their first time. It's important to do ALL the homework and UNDERSTAND the concepts behind it, or else you're going to fail, newbie or not. On tests, make sure you find the correct answer the right way, or you'll be marked down.

This teacher really knows his stuff. Brilliant guy. With that said he only cares about keeping his brilliant ideas to himself. Finished the class a month early with majority of the class failing. EXTREMELY fast paced and very difficult to follow unless this is your second time taking Calculus. Find someone else.
Don't take this guy. He doesn't care about the student at all. I came to him a couple of time after class to ask for help on the extremely hard and treaky tests that he give us and he said I'm trying hard enough. Sure, me and the other 30 out of 35 students who are failing his class. Don't take him!!! He should be banned from teaching!!!
Horrible Teacher. The class began with 40+ enrolled and active in the class, and ended with 9. MUST ATTEND class.

This guy is a joke! He is not clear and does not care about any student. His reasoning is if you don't understand, then think about taking it again next semester. His tests are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!!! He makes no sense! He is an inconsiderate teacher and should not be allowed to teach this course!!! He doesnt pass anyone!!!
Gets angry at students when they ask for help. Seems like he wants to get out of the class as fast as possible. Doesn't fully explain what he is teaching. Expects students to understand previous mathematical concepts. Grades very harshly.

This guy sucks. He teaches as if he is trying to prove theorems to himself. This semester he assigned all hw online, and won't answer any questions about the hw. Don't take this guy.
Seriously avoid him by all means possible, confuses the class way too much because he prefers to do the math problems the long way and confuses himself too. Everything that has been said about him is true.
If anybody wants to fail a class, be my guest and take this class. He doesn't teach anything and he expects you to know what he's talking about when he does lecture. Run,and run fast. Im taking this class a second time right now and it's literally 10x's easier with a new teacher. Class has packed the first day and i think there was about 11 people (including myself) that actually showed up. U can do quizes in partners but no one really knows what goes on.
If u have trouble fighting through accents dont take this class. It's hard as is, his teaching style is not the best, and the accent does not help. Not to be rude...but honest.
Worst teacher Ive ever had. Lectures are very hard to understand. Spends most of the time on useless theorems. Tests are very difficult and dont really reflect hw. Gives little to no help and he is rude. His breath stinks too. I had to teach myself everything from the book.
Well, he's very bright, but not to good at explaining theorms, or how to solve problems. You'll mostly have to teach yourself, and his tests are hard as hell. However, he is good at explaining if you go to his office during office hours. He's also nicer than he lets on to be if you talk to him individually too.
Amazing that CSUN will deliver us in the hands of any incompetent that comes down the pike...don't waste you valuable time and tuition money here. We got totally ripped off.
I took his stats140 class because it was not online, and too bad everyting is online! Homework, Tests, everything. He actually refused to give us more examples in class. He is soo hard to keep up with. Never lets you work in groups or ask questions. His teaching styles did not work for me at all. I literally hate stats because of this class.
do NOT take stats with this professor. going to class is pointless. everything is online so you have to basically learn everything on your own. you have to meet him in the computer lab at a special time to take your test online. you don't get any partial credit on a problem. he is not willing to help students at all. he is a lazy teacher!
I have this teacher right now, and i recommend you don't take him unless you've taken the subject before. He doesn't "teach" ... He expects you to know everything he writes in the board, nor does he care about helping out students. You have to find your own help, and he's said it himself.
Easy class if you have some knowledge about Calc I already. Goes through the material rather quickly if no one has a question. Homework is done online with MyMathLab. Don't really need the book. Quizzes/Midterm is EXACTLY like the homework. He puts in as much as the students do. So if you don't care, neither does he. It was an easy class though.
This professor can't teach to sh it. The hmwk quiz are done on mathlab and that doesnt help. he can't teach and the stuff he teaches in class is different from what is on mathlab. If you want to go from a A student to a D student be my guess.

Quizes and tests are impossible to pass. He goes over material way too fast. Homework is different than what is due on webwork.

Okay, let me first start of being saying we are in college this isn't high school anymore WE NEED TO WORK HARD. Grades shouldn't be handed to you so easily. Now, this professor is a horrible teacher. I struggled so much in the class. I put hours and hours of studying time and hours on homework time. I passed the class with B. SO JUST WORK HARD.
Let me start of by saying this teacher is horrible. But we are in college we need to work hard for our grades. This is not high school anymore, we shouldn't get grades handed easily to us. I studied hours and hours for test and i spent hours on homework. I struggled and I cried, but I passed with B. SO JUST WORK HARD.
1. Buying the textbook was a waste of money. He has you purchase both the textbook and My Math Lab. My Math Lab has the textbook online, so I never used the actual book. 2. HW is mandatory in order to take any midterms. 3. His lectures are almost not worth sitting through. Only reason why I stayed was to find out how to do problems on the Calc.
WORST professor I have ever had! I clearly understood the material. However, he used online homework that was very understandable but wrote the midterm and final totally different. Nothing that was on the final was on the midterm, and even if it were he wrote the directions in the most confusing way. AVOID!!!
If you want to pass this class you better be prepared to study hard.Jahangard presents the material, but it is up to you to understand and learn it.If you have questions on homework, he just gives you a hint usually, and will not answer the question.If you show him you know the material by the final, he will pass you.The toughest class I have taken
Where do I begin.taking a math class has never ceased to ruin my life, but after taking this class I know it has ruined my life and the next life and the next. He's a horrible teacher because he moves too fast, bases the bulk of your grade on exams, and he isn't clear at all. I URGE YOU ALL TO NOT TAKE THE CLASS. I FAILED...DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE.
Does not make information clear. He is not approachable. His lectures are long and boring, and you really need to be a nerd to understand statistics with him. You basically teach yourself if you don't understand his lecutres--you won't!!
Does not curve at all. Exams were pretty challenging. Make sure you know how to do every single hw problem, because he will ask the most difficult ones on the quizzes. Lectures not very clear. Try not to take.
He is a very difficult teacher. It was annoying having tests on computers in school. He was hard to learn from and spoke with thick accent.
Please avoid this stupid class.. I love math and always do well thats just how I work, but this class was the worst class ever. Bad teaching, bad tests and a horrible and dry subject. AVOID this teacher. He is nice and smart but can't teach for his life. Monotone.
I was worried at first because of all the negative reviews, but for this course he's actually pretty good. I thought he was very easy to understand, and helpful if you had problems on any of the material. The HW was all done on WileyPLUS, and the tests pretty much consisted of the problems from the assigned chapters. Easy class if you practice.
Pros: teacher is fairly easy to understand, runs organized lectures and does not put any material on exams that you have not seen before. Cons: teacher is somewhat unwilling to go above-and-beyond to help you understand the material if you are having trouble. Overall, a lot better than the ratings would indicate.
This is a excellent teacher so don't listen to everyone else. I passed this class, and this is coming from a guy who can't stand math. The exams are hard but if you talk to him he is very willing to help. Take his course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok to the "he is a good teacher comment," You were either paid or held at gun point!!! You know this dude failed you! He fails everyone. To the entering students save yourself and drop this half of a man class.
Jahangard is a great man with a huge amount of knowledge in math, very humble and calm, he is also very helpful and willing to help. His exams are long with not enough time, that simply means do home work more than one time! Professor is not one of those tricky professors but he wants to make sure you have understood the concept.
You defiantly have to put some work in this class. If you are not good with writing proofs with theorms, you have no hope in this class. Around 20 percent of your tests will be computational (from the textbook) the rest will be proving, or disproving a theorm, or using logic. If you are a math major this class might be just the right challenge 4 u.
If you are not gonna give it 110% then just dont even try. I gave it my all and still got owned. This is the class that will determine whether you will graduate with your current degree or if you will change to liberal arts. You better be good at proofs and understanding abstract material, because that's Linear Algebra. Good luck, u WILL need it...
He can't teach. Doesn't have review days for exams. Makes exams more difficult than they need to be. He doesn't seem to care. Says comments that are unethical, plus he doesn't seem helpful. Don't take this professor. Absolutely terrible!!!!!
Pop quizzes. No curve. A lot of homework from textbook. Probably fails half the class.
For Calculus 3, tough pop quizzes, and probably failed half the class. No curve. The tests are harder than the HW. For the final he gave us an 11 problem review and the final was WAY harder than the review. POOR!!! Avoid this guy.
