Awesome professor! Knows a lot! The only things is if you procastinate in his class, you will fail!

Very clear teacher. Knows his stuff. Lets you turn in homework whenever, just as long as it is turned in. Will help with any math course wether he is your teacher or not.

I took Differential Equations with Professor Bock. He is the best math professor I have ever had. He explains everything very clearly, and knows what he teaches. He is passionate, and wants students to understand the material. His test are hard, but if you do the homework he gives, you will be fine. Attend class; you won't learn from the book.

I took Calc 3. Bock was a great professor and taught straight from the book, enjoys teaching, & knows much on the subject. He?s hard but grading was just and gives you what you earned. Doesn?t give + or - grades. I got a C but could have been a B if I tried harder. Questions from his review were on the test & he uses the online homework.

Great professor! Actually teaches instead of lecturing straight from book. Enthusiastic and definitely knows the material inside and out. He wants you to understand concepts which is essential for this level math. I will definitely take him for DE and Linear. Too bad he doesn't teach physics... Best math professor I have ever had.

Took him for DE. VERY HARD but Very GOOD TEACHER! I spent atleast 8 hours a week on DE. 3 out of 18 people made A. Tests are from homework + lecture, except that you are bound to get confused and lose HUGE points! Goes by very fast because time is short...gives study guide. he is FUNNY! He helps but makes you feel bad...nice and jolly teacher thoug

Great professor. Yeah the material is hard so that's why people might complain. Math isn't easy but this professor teaches in a great way that makes me understand it. I made an A but I had to study verrrry hard... Recommended!

10%lab, 5%homework, 20% test1,20%test2,20%test3,anf final 25%.The physic questions are chalanging Opitimization 30%,Newtons Method 12%, Free Bodies equation 12%. The derivative questions are hard hint (fraction related).Antiderivative complex. Must study your brains out in order to pass the class. Gives no curves or bouns points. Very strict.

Excellent teacher! Had Bock for express algebra&trig, precal,& differential equations. I didn't understand calculus until DE w/Bock. Explains background for equations, gives real life examples for problems. Always available for extra help. 3x5 notecard for tests. Curves tests. Do HW 4 credit. If engineering/math is your major - take Bock!

If you actually want to learn something you will not go wrong with Professor Bock.

I took professor Bock for my online class. He was very helpful and available throughout the semester. After every test I would stop by his office and review the topics that I missed and was able to understand it much better. He is generous with partial credit, but definetly fair. Highly recommend him for an online math class.

An awesome teacher. If you attend his classes and DO the reviews you can pass the course at least with B!

Very useful teacher, If you are strong enough in math, and you want to LEARN, just take his classes. To pass his tests, Studying is required!

Professor Bock is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. That being said, his tests are very hard. If you don't like to study, well then you probably shouldn't be taking calculus (especially with Bock). He gives reviews, grades fairly, and allows a notecard on the test. Very hard, but rewarding.

Common guys. It is a calculus class and you shall not expect him to teach you algebra! Those who have taken his calc classes and are complaining are not those who have a STRONG background in math. He is so helpful and great teacher for higher level students.

Professor Bock is a hard teacher, but his reviews mostly covers whatever he gives on the test. If you study the questions that he solves in class and understand the way he solves them then you will do well on the test. He makes us understand the topic rather than the question so we can solve any similar question. Dont take him unless u are serious!

I had Prof. Bock for diff eq and linear algebra back-to-back TR nights. Crazy? Yes. Awesome? Actually, yes. Do I regret it? Not at all. It is obvious that he loves math--because he makes it so much fun, I love it too. Upper-level math is hard, but he explains very well, and was always understanding when I needed extra help. What an amazing teacher.

A huge math enthusiast who knows his stuff backwards and forwards. I took his linear algebra class and it was very fast paced. Don't get behind, otherwise it'll be very hard to catch up. Do the homework because he grades it based on completion. Also, make sure you know how to do every single problem on the practice exams.

Trig Online. Learn it all on your own! The book had terrible videos and I often had to YouTube or Google how to work problems out. HWK done on WebAssign; three chances for each question. Test are done at the school testing centers through WebAssign; two chances for each question and one 3 x 5 hand written card allowed. The card saved me.

Cons: He lectures a lot and it's hard to follow He is really smart and the class is hard Pros: You don't have to buy the book IF you do the homework you WILL pass the test (fair grader) You'll always know exactly what you're going with prof Bock. Once you see the first test, you'll be ready for the others

I took an online course with professor Bock and it was fantastic. There is quite a bit of time between assignments and you know exactly what is due when. He was always available to answer questions and I never had to wait more then a few hours for a question to be answered. I would highly recommend him.

I took Professor Bock for online trigonometry as a prerequisite for physics. On orientation day he went over the entire syllabus and scheduling in great detail. I was nervous taking a math course online but he was always very fast to reply to my emails when I had questions. He allows notecards on his exams and the hw is basically the exams.

he is great prof. i took him in plane trig. online .he is very helpful and very fast when you email him or ask him .he is welling to help student who is want to learn . i liked his online class so much.

Lectures are fast and long, but he's always willing to go back and explain things if you missed it. He helps a lot by showing exactly what material will be covered on the test, and on the tests themselves, he's super lenient on the points. He's an awesome guy.

Lectures involved a lot of theory but if you were able to grasp the ideas and apply them on the homework, you were set for the exams. He's a funny guy and very lenient on grading. For homework, if you showed a little effort, you got full credit. On exams, a lot of partial credit given for even the fewest written numbers and equations on the paper.

Precal Online: Great Professor who responds to emails extremely quickly. Textbook is not needed but you will want to watch all lecture videos and work all assignments in cengage. A LOT of material to cover but he is more than fair. Test q's are from hw so just rework those problems until you can solve from memory. ProctorU testing allowed.

He is a professor that cares about the experience of the student and the quality of the learning. I have taken him for two online math courses. He answers questions almost immediately via email. Understanding that web students tend to work at night, he responds even in later hours. Fair grader and allows one index card for exams.

Calc 3 Hybrid - He would answer any question I had with extreme detail. When we had to do class online it was usually just a power point, but he would review the material the next day. Tests are exactly like the review. Sometimes id have to fill in what he was writing down with my own words to have complete notes, but he explaines everything

Really good professor, would take again.

Bock's approach to teaching the subjects involve lots of proofs but he makes it interesting, especially if you enjoy learning about math. Sometimes you have to see him in office hours if you need extra clarification. He is more forgiving on homework and lab grades than other professors, and exams are where you have to put your best foot forward.

Professor Bock is definitely a bright and clever individual, although his teaching style were extremely old school, and heavily textbook based. Basically expecting you to understand the topic before heading to the class room, and class time is more like a in-person practice with him. If your not great with math, think wisely before sign up!

1/4 (I have a long response so this will be broken up ) I have taken Professor Bock for calc 2 and calc 3 both in person. He teaches calculus based on the textbook, lectures in proofs and in a conceptual manner. If you want to understand the material you are learning then the proofs are quite helpful though they can be difficult to understand.

(2/4) If you struggle with proofs then I would suggest not taking this professor or asking him after class to apply the proof to an actual question. His lectures aren't for everyone; however his exams are genuinely quite simple. The numbers will always be clean (ALWAYS) his test reviews are extremely helpful, they are similar to the test.

Plano Campus is known for their great professors, and Professor Bock is one of them. I have never been in a class where the reasoning and proof of concept is the primary focus. He explains every concept and shows proofs of why it is true. If you have a question you can ask him and he will explain it very thoroughly. Very good professor!!!
