I had Mr. Borgen for an international politics class a semester ago. There was one group project in which my partner flaked. I went up with an outline and improvised both sides (it was a debate)and got a great grade. Ask him about his time teaching in Japan. A really low effort class that complements a hectic schedule.

Borgens is a fun, enchanting person. He makes the material way more captivating than it actually is, by instilling enthusiasm. Unfortunately, his technical skills as a prof are horrible. Only a few exams (poorly given, one given at end of class) and two tests composed our grade. Not much to live off of.

Mr. Borgens is ultimatly a nice guy and a good teacher. he delivers material in a clear lecture, but the lectures are extremely long(2Hours)and it is hard to stay awake but his quizes are based on the lecture that day , and his exams are not that hard i took them with no note but he allows notes, and passed them, SO USE NOTES haha and u will pass

He's a decent teacher who is very interested in teaching. His enthusiasm makes his class easier to pull through and he rarely asks questions during the lecture. However, sleeping through the lecture will kill your grade. His exams are composed of everything he says. I suggest you bring a laptop and type them, you can use a page of notes on exams.

Borgen's is nice enough but the class is pretty boring (unless you're as enthusiastic about Political Science as he is)... he gives you a study guide and the tests are basically on that. There's no homework! But a few random quizzes with weird questions from the lecture. I'd recommend him

Mr.Borgens presents the PoliSci information in a simple and clean format with notes on the board. IF you show up, you should pass and have a great grade. He allows notes on the tests, which I never uses, but not the super simple quizzes that he gives with answers to questions. Easy and enjoyable- just take notes : )

EXCELLENT Professor. This is my second time having him as a professor, and I will have him for a third time next semester. Borgens is a great teacher. Very animated speaker, seems a bit quirky at first but really just into what he is discussing. If you have even a passing interest in politics, you will probably find yourself paying attention. Borgens makes tons of notes on the board so if you feel the need to take notes it is quite easy to keep up. Great teacher.

I really enjoyed having Professor Borgens as a teacher. He really knows his stuff. He's a little strange, but makes the lectures enjoyable. You really need to go to class to do well. Ed is the most awesome professor ever. I love all of his analogies and the way he explains different concepts. Based on previous students, I didn't purchase the book, didn't need to. Everything covered on quizzes and tests is covered in lecture. I have never taken a class where the professor is so clear. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Mr. B is a great teacher!! Goverment is not my thing, but his lecture was always interesting and learned a lot! I bought the book, but hardly use it. If you take notes your good! I thought his test were kinda hard. So you do have to study eventhough he lets you take a sheet of notes during the test. Overall I recommend him he isn't not a hard teacher at all! Just show up to every lecture and study you will pass!

I hated history and still do, but Professor Borgens made it easy and enjoyable. You have no homework and all you have to do is study for the test (he also lets you have a cheat sheet for the tests as well!). If that's not easy enough for you, I don't know what is. Mr. Borgen is a good teacher. Wants all his student's to pass his course. The weekly pop quizes are easy. The exams are literally the notes that were taken during lecture. With that being said don't miss class. The final exam is different from all the previous exams in a bad way. Make sure you ask him specific details regarding that last exam.

Maybe it's because of my disinterest in government, but I found this class to be rather boring. Every day is the same thing unless you're taking a test: lectures via whiteboard and write down everything on it. Just make sure to study hard and write down EVERYTHING he says. Boring class for me, but he's a nice guy and has a nice sense of humor.

Some of the best lectures I have gotten at BC. It's not hard to stay awake in Borgens' class because his lectures are really interesting. Ive now taken two of his classes and plan on taking B3 next semester. I would recommend him to anybody and everybody. His lectures are so clear that i didn't buy the textbook for the class this semester.

I had Borgens for both B2 and B3. He covers everything that will be on the exams in his lectures. Take notes and review.. He gives great feedback on the written assignments. Stay organized with your group for the presentation. Make sure to address each area of the essay questions and paper topic. Work for it and you'll get the grade you want.

Great teacher!3 tests which you are allowed to have a cheat sheet front and back one piece of paper (can be typed any font); also just copy everything he writes on the board and put it onto your cheat sheet and you'll get an A in the class. I do not know anything about pols and have very little interest and I got an A. Quizzes that are so easy!

Great professor. He really knows what he's talking about and you can tell he's passionate about the subject. There were pop quizzes but if you're paying attention to what he writes on the board you should be ok, exams were also based on what he writes on the board and he does let you use one legal cheat sheet for his exams. Didn't use textbook.

Professor Borgens is dorky like some of the comments have mentioned! But in a very good way! The textbooks are not really required to pass the class. He does not test you on material from the textbook so that's good if you hate reading or want to save money. He gives you a list of terms, and is very organized.

I took the class for summer school. I loved the class, going into it I had no idea specifically what would be taught. He did an amazing job explaining each topic and gave great examples. He gives study guides on exactly what is taught and what's on the tests.

Professor Borgens is old school instructor. He doesnt use pp, instead writes everything out on whiteboard. Each class goes to end with only a 5 minute break. He tried to keep students involved with the dry material. He is really nice and understanding. Would have liked more extra credit, but he only offers 20 points for entire semester so study.

Very thorough lecture, writes notes on the whiteboard before/during class, so you must show up to get the notes. The tests are all based off of the notes. Such a nice guy with a sense of humor. He makes everything understandable and gives a study guide beforehand with the terms and essay question of YOUR choice to study. No cramming in necessary with the study guide. Made it a breeze.

Awesome professor. He gave us the midterm/final study guides at the beginning and goes off of that during his lectures. Definitely pay attention during class because everything on the tests come straight from the lectures. There are also chapter quizzes, a group project, and a term paper. He really wants his students to do well and is very clear.

Super nice guy. Real easy class. Weekly quizzes but he gave summaries of the chapter and the quiz questions came directly from that. Dont waste your money and buy the book. Midterm and Final have 25 multiple choice and 25 T/F which all come from his summaries. He sends out videos so no attendance required either. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Professor Borgens' class was relatively easy and his approach to teaching was really effective. When watching his lectures, you can see how enthusiastic he is towards the subject and I feel that helps to get involved that much more. Advice to people planning on taking his class, ensure you go over the study guide and watch the lecture videos.

Essay questions on first 2 exams. Not hard. No homework. EASY A!

Professor Borgens is a great professor. I took his class online, and everything was fairly easy as long as you read his study guides. Everything that is on the quizzes/exams (3 of them) was on his supplemental study guides. I just printed them and studied those. The book was never really used and his lectures he records can be fairly long.

This dude is amazing, very easy and straightforward! Its an easy A without a doubt. His lectures are about 1-2 hours per chapter (there was 10 for my class) and he made it all very simple with the study guides! Same info for the tests. He is also very wise & knowledgeable, wish I wouldve taken his class in person.

Has an essay question on 2 exams but doesnt care the length or structure as long as you answer the prompt. Quiz and exam answers are NOT on Quizlet. Still easy A

A great professor. His lectures (very long) pretty much go over everything that will be on the exams. I didn't have to read the book because his supplemental study guides teach you everything you need to know. I still keep them because they're very knowledgeable. He cares about what he teaches and is a dependable nice guy. Definitely recommend.

One of the best professors. He's extremely knowledgeable and explains everything throughly in his lectures with explanations. His lectures contain all the answers in the quizzes so there's not much need for the textbook. He also does talk a lot about his life experience.

The class is lecture heavy and it can be repetitive at times because certain topics will be talked about throughout the entire semester. IGOs NGOs MNCs, realism, liberalism, constructivism, identity approach, and other terms will be pushed and constantly talked about in every class session. Besides that, it's a relatively nice class.

There are only three papers you have to write and I would recommend to make them lengthy for a good score. Then watching the lectures before a quiz is an easy way to get through them. The quizzes are 15 mins and are only 10 questions and are simple to answer if you watch the lecture beforehand. Also extra credit at the start of class, do it.

I took this class online and it was super easy. He had 3 easy essays to do. The rest are quizzes from his Zoom lectures. All the quizzes have 10 questions but the only hard part about it is that you only have 10 minutes to answers them, they are multiple questions though.

Professor Borgens delivers engaging and educational lectures that are easy to follow. The 10-question tests are straightforward and not difficult. He provides helpful feedback, making it easier to understand areas for improvement. Definitely recommend and would take again.

I found this class to realtivly easy online! The recorded lectures were well done and easy to follow and he's clearly passionate about his work without really offending anyone! Definitely feel the info learned has helped out of class too! Will tell you to buy the textbook but online I don't think you'll really need it. I touched mine like 3 times.

Great professor. I would recommend this professor for POLISB1. The lectures are clear and he is responsive. You could easliy pass with an A if you listen to his lectures and read the book. His lectures do prepare you for the quizs so take notes on the guides he gives you.

Very decent Professor. He gives clear grading, with just a quiz after each chapter covered. There are textbooks but don't buy them as I didn't open it once. If you go to class, briefly look over the study guides before the quizzes you'll get an easy A.

Class is extremely lecture heavy no lectures posted online, and his exams are reliant on the lectures. Attendance is mandatory which are the only cons but he is super cool as a professor. Always there to help during his office hours and his lectures are funny and interested. There is a term paper, two exams and a group presentation, but fs take it!

I took a 6 week summer course and this class is informative, smooth, and great pace. He posts zoom Lectures that are 1-2 hours. Quizzes are 10 minutes, which is a downside, but still tolerable. The professor knows his teaching topics and an interesting person. I took this class for GE purposes, and it was worth taking this class. Join this class!

Professor Borden does a fantastic job of providing in-depth video lectures for each chapter. He lays out all expectations in his initial video and sticks to them. There are 15 10-min chapter quizzes. The majority of the information needed comes from his video lectures. The downside is you cannot go back and check your answers before submitting.

Assignments were easy. Lectures were amazing, they were not boring whatsoever. Had pre-recorded videos in case you missed class. If you need help with an assignment he's available before class starts and during office hours. This class does require a textbook. You do have a group project at the end of the course. Test/Exams were decent.

He's genuinely the sweetest professor ive ever had and although he teaches by writing and talking super fast, its all really catchy stuff in the way he talks about the things happening. I enjoyed his class and i would take it again, for those of u considering his class, take it! :)
