The class was a joke, regardless of his attitude. I don't think he was as bad as people say. Do the homework and show up for class and it won't be a problem.

He was one of the best teachers I have ever had. People moan and complain about him being hard but as long as you do the homework and show up for class you will do fine. He moves kind of fast but he is very helpful if you have questions.

Mansfield is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. If you go to class, take notes and pay attention you'll do fine. Just make sure you study continuously - the first two tests are easy and the last two are brutal.

His class is not nearly as hard as some people claim. He expects people to know how to do a few different types of problems on each test, and they are basically all the same problem with small variations. Most of the homework doesn’t help you for the test, but if you attempt all of it, he gives you some bonus at the end of the semester.

Attend the class. Study the old tests. Memorize the formulas. Do the homework. The class is not hard. I made a C because I had ten absences. He explains things in such a manner that a trained monkey could understand statistics. Stats will never be easy, but Mansfield makes it interesting.

Edd Mansfield is a very good professor. He's got a great sense of humor, regardless of the dull material of Statistics. He's also a magician, and he overcomes statistical probability by performing amazing magic tricks. Tests aren't easy, but it's stuff he goes over in class. He gives 2 bonus points for perfect attendance.

Mansfield is a great teacher! The class is by far one of the toughest I've had yet. You need to do every homework, attend every class, and attend help sessions if you are confused. He is very helpfull and available often. Basicly, your grade will reflect how hard you worked. Also, he will adjust points at the end to benefit you.

Dr. Mansfield is wonderful! I really enjoyed this class. He gives a lot of homework, but it helps tremendously on his tests. He gives a really helpful formula sheet in tests and gives alot of partial credit on tests. I really thought he was a wonderful teacher and really allowed me to enjoy statistics!

Dr. Mansfield is a good professor. Before I took the class some of these reviews scared me. Even though some of the material is boring, he did his best to liven it up. The tests aren't that bad; the key was to get old tests and work the problems. They should be similar. As long as you review until you understand it, you'll be fine.

I took Stats last summer and its not that bad. Mansfield was a HUGE HELP. SUPER NICE MAN. you just have to know how to read the problems and you will see how easy stats really is.If you take it in the summer, its so much easier. the downfall is you HAVE to go to class or you will fail. most of it was on the computer, with mansfield.

super nice teacher, i suck at anything having to do with math and he was very helpful in making sure i understood everything, go to EVERY class and do ALL the homework and you will pass easily, i got a B

Dr. Mansfield is a really good teacher. He really knows what he is talking about, and will work with you to make sure you understand each concept. The material in the class can sometimes be difficult, but thats not his fault. I would recommend going to every class and doing all the homework and you should be fine.

I don't think Professor Mansfield is as bad as everyone says. If you come to class and listen to his lectures you can pass the class. The only bad thing is the homework. The software doesn't work on Macs so if you have one you will have to go to Bashinky or find someone who will let you use their computer. But it isn't that hard.

As long as you are in class, it is not too tough to pass, especially since Prof Mansfield makes sure to tell you what the biggest questions on the test will be.

Dr. Mansfield is honestly a good teacher. You can easily pass this class so long as you prove to him that you are trying. I am a 3.7 fashion retail major and I made an A in this class. This hard part is the subject matter, not the teacher. If you don't understand basic math, you won't do well. It does require a lot of lab work though.

I took this class online and as long as you know how to do the work in the Hawkes practices and certifies it is EASY!

This class was a struggle.I attended every class so that I would not be behind. I got two points added to my average because I went to every class. He was very helpful and reviewed your tests with you if you went to his office, even added extra points to them. I made B- and C on every test and ended up with an A because I made an A on the final!

I took Dr. Mansfield's online class last semester. He's not as bad as everyone says. If u go to his office you can get all the help you need. I made a C on all my exams and came out with a B in his class because he gives you a nudge if u go to his office to go over your exam. Overall I would recommend taking him. He's not so bad.

Material is somewhat difficult, but he is a good instructor. Class was overall relatively easy. Hardly ever responds timely to e-mails, however. Do not buy the textbook or Minitab, you will hardly use them. Only buy Hawkes and the note bundle.

Mansfield can seem intimidating at first, but he's actually a good guy and the class isn't bad when you figure out his teaching style. He appreciates hard work; if you go to class regularly (he gives a good attendance bonus), take notes, and keep up with the homework, you'll be fine. Definitely go to his office hours to review your tests as well!

This class seems impossible, but DO NOT GIVE UP! Call him w/ questions on the tests- he answers and helps. Do ALL of the homework. I got a B- and I WORKED for it. A more talented student would have done better.

This class def isn't easy but long as you go to class and do your homework and don't fall behind in the class you should do fine! He is very nice if you go to office hours and will help you out in the end if he really sees you trying! If you know how to use the formula sheet he gives you, you should be fine on the tests!

Most important thing: don't fall behind. Go to class, put forth effort, and you'll do fine. Homework and quizzes can be tough, but they prepare you for the tests. The tests are a breeze compared to portions of the homework. Go to his office hours because he is super helpful and encouraging. At first you won't like him, but he will grow on you.

All profesor Mansfield asks for is for you to actually work. He is not hard and is very nice to the people who care to put in the time for his class. Pay attention, go to class and do the homework and the class is easy. He is super clear and a very good teacher.

Faild the first two tests miserably. Did all homework, went to class, and met with him once in his office. Easy final, finished with a B.

Professor Mansfield at the beginning seems like he is very strict and will try to extract the slackers. He really isn't that bad. His first test is hard. Second one is easier and final is the easiest in my opinion. If you only miss zero or one class you will get 2 bonus points. Go to his office hours. Make sure he knows your face it will help you

Mansfield really wants you to do well in his class. He teaches with a sort of coaches mentality. If he could make you do push ups for every question you miss he would, but honestly wants you to take what you learn from his class and move on. The tests really aren't that bad. Go to class, do HW, and talk to him and you're gold.

The class was not a bad class at all to take. I went to the Tutoring Sessions and got some help after I failed the first Test.After that I Got A's and B's on the rest of the tests and got 100 percent on the HW and finished with a A in the class

I will be honest at first I hated Mansfield but after a few weeks of attending class I found that he has a good sense of humor and is easily approachable. Class is mandantory but is rewarded with extra cred. I bombed the second test and still came out of the class with an A-. He will overlook some of your lower grades if you show improvement.

This class is very difficult. As long as you complete 80% of your homework, you get the full 15% of your grade. But don't rely on that to study. They are nothing like the tests. He tells you exactly how to do the problems, and expects you to do it his way or he'll count off points. GO TO CLASS. Im getting hammered after the final. Hallelujah.

Pretty hard class but Mansfield knows what he's talking about and is glad to help you. Really funny guy but loves to make fun of people who don't pay attention. Class is mandatory but it's extra credit too.

Going to class is pretty essential for making a good grade. The notes from the supe store are a must-have. The work is intensive, but pretty easy if you hunker down in the library. I made a low "D" on the first test, but was able to bring it up by going to office hours and going over the test. Highly recommend.

One of the greatest professors at UA. Sad to see him retire. Awesome professor.
