Very nice guy, very interesting.
THE MOST AWESOME PROFESSOR I HAVE HAD SO FAR @ PPC! YOU HAVE TO TAKE AS MANY OF HIS CLASSES AS POSSIBLE! HE SEEMS TO LOVE WHAT HE DOES, JUST DON'T MISS A CLASS W/OUT BEING SICK BECAUSE ATTENDENCE COUNTS
Mr. Meena is the best! He'll do anything to help his students. Not only is he interesting but very funny also. Two of my favorite sayings of his are - "It's like being in an ass kicking contest with one leg" and "Telemarketing - it's like e
This man is a riot! I have never heard anything bad about him. He keeps the most boring subjects interesting.
I never liked history before I had this class! Ed Meena is amazing.
Mr. Meena is a very smart man. Just by listening to his lectures, you can tell he loves what he does! He makes history interesting!
If only he coached as well as he taught.
He's a teacher who cares to know what his students want to learn about. He asks, and then teaches us what we want to know about.
Meena is AWESOME!!! Don't leave PPC without having him for a history class. He makes history interesting and he's one of the most brilliant professors I've ever known. He's AMAZING!!
Ed Meena is a very intelligent man. Not only does he do a wonderful job teaching History, but he also cares about his students. One of the best professors I have had at the college.
Cool, yo!
I love Meena!! Great teacher, extremely helpful, and looks into the best interest of his students.
Mr. Meena is the best! He is so smart, cares for his students, and an excellent way to teach. I'm the same as several other students - I never cared for History, but I actually love going to his class. He really does make the course fun. He does care.
Meena should the the School Prez.
The best teacher at Point Park by FAR! He really interacts with the students both inside and outside of the classroom. Honesty a wonderful teacher and person. And his movie knowledge is quite impressive!
I greatest teacher PPC has. Fun, smart and just around great teacher and person.
Meena is AWESOME! I can't wait to have him for my last class as a PPC student this summer.
Great guy. Knows alot about history. Very good teacher.
The best history teacher I've had, which isn't saying a lot. Genuinely a nice guy -- he knows my name to see me. A very good PR tool for PPU. As for his class, I think he favors girls and sometimes doesn't get the century right.
I have had Prof. Meena so many times. He is a He's a very personable guy, makes history interesting, and is very flexible with assignments, which helps a lot! No tests are given, just papers. One of the best teachers at Point Park. I highly recommend him!
If i were a college teacher one day i would run my class the way he runs his! Great guy and knows hist history! Please treat him with respect and show up to class with no hat on your head and youll do fine! You the man meena
I have had Meena tons of times and he is definitely the man! He is caring and provides a learning environment with room for fun. Take him if at all possible.
Meena is awesome! Takes you on tours of Pittsburgh and says many hilarious things (I have quotes all through my notebook). WONDERFUL guy and outrageously smart. Take an Ed Meena class!!! and yes, he should be school prez.
an awesome guy in and out of class.
Fantastic. One of the best I've ever had. He's the kind of professor we need more of at PPC. His classes are lecture, but if you take notes, you're golden b/c he doesn't give tests, just short papers. I had him 2 years ago and he still says hi to me every time I see him. But he's like that with EVERYBODY b/c he genuinely cares for all his students.
what else can i say? awesome teacher and very smart... remembers you throughout your 4 years. great contact to have and will help you out. def take him for any history class!!!!!
The best teacher I have ever had. I don't think anyone could ever replace him. Not only was the class easy, but never have I learned so much. He made it very interesting and clear for everyone. A+!
Like everyone else has said, Meena is freakin awesome! His classes are always fun and interesting, plus he makes it easy. Definately take him!
EVERYONE'S FAVORITE POINT PARK TEACHER! Sweetest guy ever! Remembers your name for life and exactly what you do! I had this guy for one class my freshman year and he STILL knows my name (I’m a super senior) and remembers exactly what's going on in my life since the last time we talked. He knows everything there is to know about history and I recommend his Hitler class!
gives a fantastic, meaningful, thought provoking class and really cares about his students
meena is the man. he remembered me when i was a pip squeak freshman (in 2000!) and all the way until i graduated in '04. i bet if i went back there right now, he'd remember my name and major.
Really smart and knowledgable. No books or tests-can you get any better?
Meena was my favorite teacher at Point Park. He always makes you smile, knows so much information about the most random things, and always says hi to you when he sees you around. No tests, no book...papers are easy! This class was great!
Take teh guy if at al possible--Easy but you do learn alot--great guy and professor--will help you with anything at all!!
I remember him from when he played basketball back in the late 60s. Tell him Wilt from Lambda Chi says "hi".
awesome
AMAZING!!! Take his classes at every chance you get!
Mr. Meena is one of the finest and most under-appreciated teachers at Point Park. What he teaches you is better than anything you'll find in any history book. And on top of that, he really cares about his students. Can't go through college without taking this guy for some classes.
Years after taking his class, he still remembers my name. very personable and understanding. You won't fall asleep in this man's classes. He's interesting.
The best teacher i have ever had! He made me love history. I hated it before. Friday classes are a must! A great way to end the week!
really great guy
He is truly an amazing professor, he makes the class very interesting and in the intro course even lets the class choose what to learn about from anything in history. I recommend him to anyone with any interest in history.
Very fair teacher who is obviously passionate about his work. Does not require a book for Hist of PA. His expectations for the papers are a little unclear and the review for the final isnt very helpful--too many vague terms. His lectures tend to jump which makes it hard to take notes but he is very fair and friendly. Good class.
Very nice guy...very helpful...extensive knowledge of history...THE BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!
I know this is a forum for Point Park University, but I had Mr Meena at AIP. He is without a shadow of a doubt, one of my favorite instructors. He will do anything to help his students. I look forward to his History of WW2 class this winter! Thanks for being a great teacher, Ed. - Antonio
Intro the the study of history. no book. no tests. just papers. helpful and a good professor
Great teacher!!
Ed is a dark, handsome "papa bear" kinda guy, who oozes "pittsburghese". This hugable, bearded daddy can teach history like nobody else...and he's quite easy on the eyes..woof!
Ed Meena is the man. Take as many classes as you can with him.
He is the best! His lectures are meaningful and he is very helpful. He is one of my favorite professors at Point Park. I wish I could take another history course.
My favorite professor at Point Park University. So knowledgeable, great lectures, knows his students well, very approachable, and talks about everything! Only two papers and a final, but he prepares you well for it! Great teacher and mentor!
Mr. Meena is fantastic. You can tell he really loved what he taught about. He also showed a lot of videos in class, and all we had to do was write two papers. They were super simple, and the final was a breeze.
I wish this guy could teach all my classes.I would then get my moneys worth out of college. I personaly dont have much in common with him (example-career path) but if you do take advantage of his knoweledge and willingness to help.Smartest and most understanding teacher at Point Park.
This guy is a walking dictionary. He is so nice and understanding. As long as you turn your assignments in, you'll get an A. As long as you show up, you'll learn something. He is awesome. Take him any chance you get.
Awesome class. It did not just cover what you thought about the 1950's. Touched on a lot of subjects that are not usually talked about that are crucial to American society. Worth taking. Read the books too, they're worth it.
This is "the" History Professor. I always hated history until 2 weeks into his intro class. He really clarified the events and dates which were important. Simple, easy tests and one essay. Glad I took him!
this guy is a walking encyclopedia! he knows every date, time, place, person, for any even in history ever. knows pittsburgh like the back of his hand. amazing guy, amazing professor, taught me so much! two papers and a test, watch lots of good movies. sports fan, and hilarious stories! highly recommend to learn interesting things about pittsburgh!
Ed Meena is a fantastic teacher. It is obvious that he cares for his students, and his class is very enjoyable. I am truly upset that I do not have room in my schedule to take another class of his!
Amazing teacher! He knows everything about history off the top of his head. Never has to look anything up or use a textbook. The only work we have is 2 papers and a 20 question fill in the blank final, along with asking 2 questions over the course of the semester. I highly recommend taking him for history! I have enjoyed his class.
Great professor! Had him for the honors section and all we had to do was 2 papers and one 10 question fill in the blank quiz. no textbook, just had to read 3 novels. Funny guy!
Fantastic and EXTREMELY knowledgeable professor he is also my advisor and went out of his wayto help me schedule classes and a really personable and fun teacher
Awesome class. Awesome teacher. He may write worse than I do, but hes loud enough to hear so it doesn't matter. Real cool guy, always askin how everyone is and he always engaging the student and showing sweet movies.
I love this man. Amazing class. He knows everything.
He's an amazing professor, very knowledgeable and doesn't overwhelm you with a lot of homework. I always pick him for my electives!
He's very knowledgable and a very nice person, but he rambles a lot and will make you watch movies that I consider "busy work." There are two papers; one for midterm and one for final. They're not too hard. Tests are easy; fill in the blank and the midterm had two short answers.
As an alumni, this is one of the only professors who stands out to me looking back on my experience at Point Park. Easily the best professor I had, I took all my electives with him although I did not previously have much of an interest in history. Truly respect his passion and knowledge of the subject. Very friendly man, also.
absolutely loved his class. Barely any homework, if any. One of two papers a semester with only like two tests (midterm and final). Both of his tests were fill in the blanks with a word bank and he gives you the word bank weeks before the test. SUPER easy. Passed his class with a A+ without much effort. Very funny and respected man as well!!!
A great professor. That is all.
Uses full class time for lectures but they are very interesting. These are straight lectures with little room for discussion but will answer any questions. Very knowledgeable and passionate, cares about his students, and as long as you show up you will pass. One or two major essays and midterm/finals are given. Easy to pass if you do the work
This guy is so knowledgeable. If you have a question he more than likely knows the answer and if he doesnt he will go out of his way to get you an answer. If you need help with anything if it It isnt related to the class hell help you. He gives 2 papers and a mid term and a final. I enjoyed him so much Im taking another one of his classes.
Ed Meena is amazing. Lots of lecturing yes but my lord he is the smartest person you will ever meet. His class is easy VERY little homework. I actually wanted to go to class every week. Also if you turn in a paper late he doesn't care at all and won't mark you down. Super understanding, kind, easy going guy. 20/10. he's that good
Professor Meena is one of the best professors that I have ever had. He is so smart, caring, and understanding. I took him for 3 classes over two semesters and I am honestly so sad that I wont be taking him for anything else. I wish I needed him for more classes. He truly is the best. It's reading heavy, but good stories! No textbooks.
His class History of Pittsburgh was less history class and more back in my day class but it was still interesting and very easy
Enjoyable class. you get the grade you deserve. write good papers, get good grades.
Show up and you'll pass the class. He is full of knowledge and will find you an answer if he isn't sure. There is a really cheap/short book required for class. There is an easy worksheet that follows the book, a midterm paper, and the final was either a paper or word bank test with 20 questions. One of the best professors at Point Park!
I took a course with Ed a few years ago to get a general course done. I ended up declaring a history minor as an excuse to continue to take his courses. By far my favorite professor at PPU. It should be a requirement for everyone to take his courses. Do yourself a favor and sign up for one. You won't regret it. He's an amazing man and cares.
He cares so much about each and every student. Every week, I was amazed by just how much information he knew. His classes are mainly lecture based but he definitely tries to break down the content to be very understandable and always pauses to check if the class has any questions. Ed is the best professor I had at Point Park. Just a very nice guy!
Easy class, show up and youll pass. Theres like 3-4 things youll be graded on for the entire semester, including a mid term paper and a small worksheet that follows a short, free/cheap book.
Professor Meena is absolutely amazing as a teacher, he is so sweet and really cares about his students. He always checks up on them to do how they're doing and if the course is too hard or stressful. I highly recommend on taking one of his classes if you have to take a History class in the future.
One of Point Park's greatest assets. He understands students so well and is just full of knowledge. If you need help with anything he will always try to accomodate. His lectures are also very interesting and he's super funny. Such a great professor definetly try to take him.
I had Professor Meena during a hard semester. He really was a joy and was really understanding. He asks the class our interests around the subject(s). He's open and extremely personable and best of all he's like a human encyclopedia. Maybe a human history book with how he's able to list events and time lines. Overall, he's an amazing professor.
