He is a great teacher! I started like the Economy. You have to work to get things done, but he helps a lot. The class in interesting, and he is fun. Sometimes strict, but still he is a good teacher. About review sheets, it is not quiet true, they are helpful, you just have to study.

Very good professor. He attempts to be as unbiased as possible, which is difficult given the material. If you only study the handouts you will not make an A. If you do some of the reading and follow along in class you can very well make an A. He worked in the oil industry and is not a career professor, so he gives real world examples.

Excellent teachear I took him in second start, the material was interesting, read the book and you will be fine.

In 2 years of HCC this was the best professor I have ever had! His lectures were entertaining and he his tests were fairly easy. Plus the review sheets pretty much give away the whole test anyway!

I just took his class and it was the most interesting class I have ever had before. He is an excellent instructor who is willing to help you. I like his class so much that I will go back and take another class with him. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to get a good knowledge in economics.

Teacher Mineman explains very good and clear! I don't even have the book and got an A and I am an international student. you just need to attend his class and take notes of everything he says is important. He is really funny teacher, however sometimes he tell really long stories about himself or something else. I really recomend this dude!

Just took him this Fall 2010. Fairly speaking, he wasn't hard at all, you just need to do what you are required too, and the requirements aren't impossible to be done. He explains things until the whole class understand. If you don't wanna spend money on text book, use one at the westloop library. Great class, Great professor.

Ed Mineman is a great Instructor. He knows what he is teaching and very fair. He has enough experience in the oil and gas field and knows a lot about economy and how it works. Keeps the class interesting with a lot of funny jokes and makes the economics interesting. Loved his class very much. Tests are fairly easy. Take him if you wanna learn ECON!

Took his class during the mini session. Very Easy. He is very nice, funny, and great at teaching economics. There is a textbook for this class but did not purchase it and was still able to pass the class with just the notes I had. His lectures are very informative and clear. Highly recommend and would take another class from this professor. A++++

This is long overdue. I took Macro with Prof Mineman during the winter mini-session. Hands down, it was the absolute best course I have ever taken. The professor is passionate about the subject which shows in his excellent teaching. Ed made the material interesting and relevant. I was actually motivated to learn more about the topics. Awesome teacher, I knew nothing about economics but now I do. He really helps you understand and encourages you to ask questions. Tests are multiple choice and straight from the review and his notes. Didn't really use the book much his notes tell you everything you need to know. I would highly recommend him for econ. :)!

Great Professor, extremely clear. His rating says it all. Just a tip skip the book, and listen attentively to all he says. Keep writing down notes even if some of it might not pertain to the matter directly at hand. stick to the reveiw sheet, but don't memorize know the concepts(that's one step further).

Great teacher, very straightforward and he keeps you interested in what he is talking about in class so the material is very easy to understand when you do your homework. The tests are not hard but you still need to study (like in any other class).

2 Test (20% each), final comprehensive(40%), 3 quiz(10%), attendance/class part.(10%). make sure u take good notes because whatever he says will be in the test. Test are mutiple choice and about 2-4 bonus questions. gives review sheet before test but again its important to take good note. its really easy in his class to take notes!

Words are not enough to describe Mr.Mineman. He is an excellent professor who knows how to trnasfer his knowledge to students. I love every moment in his class. Thank you so very much, Mr. Mineman!

Mr. Mineman was exactly what a economics teacher should be. If you listen to what he says, show up, take a few notes, and study a little bit as you go throughout the course your chances of getting a B or above are quite high. The Best Micro professor after taking 3 different professor at hcc and going to his class with no knowledge on micro. This professor is patient and his hw are perfect amount and at the same time you actually learn from it. I will be taking him for Macro during the summer i recomend him you won't regret it. This professor is an asset that should be teaching in prestigious university, not a community college. He is simple and easy to understand. Most importantly he loves his Wife&kids so much( He even makes you kinda of jealous). He teaches the the entire economy in the united states, and your life will make more sense.

I never read the book and got an A. Professor explains everything, if you pay attention and take notes in class will get at least a B. The textbook and homework is not that helpful, so showing up to class is important for this professor's class. Also I would suggesting taking micro before macro, makes it easier.

Amazing teacher, I had taken macro at a&m, and that teacher was not even as close as good as this one. This teacher has a lot of experience in the business world, and uses very helpful examples that makes you really understand economics even if you are really dumb, just show up to class do your homework and get an A and enjoy the dark humor.

He made micro easy to understand! It was not hard to pay attention and keep interest in class since he's a very pleasant/funny person. He is always willing to answer any questions during class, or even right before tests. The quizzes really prepare you for the tests. Take good notes, go over them, glance at the book, and you should do great.

TAKE HIM! He's GREAT! HW + Listen to what he says in class = A. I never even used my actual textbook once(resold it to the bookstore still in shrink wrap), and made an A. I took micro at UT, and felt this macro course not only helped me refresh what I learned in micro, but I learned so much more. He explains concepts really well. Plus he's funny.

Suggestion take micro before macro, makes it easier. Book can be handy but don't really need it. Professor explains everything great, if you pay attention and take notes in class u will get at least a B so don't miss class. The homework is very helpful and is NOT time consuming. best professor ever. I took him for Econ 2301 and 2302 and both were super easy as long as you take notes and listen. Four more quizzes which is only 5%, two major exams 50%, class participation 15%, and the final 30%. AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mineman is a really good teacher. He gives many examples of why what he is teaching is important. The exams are what he teaches in the classroom so class is mandatory. He is pretty awesome, not dismissive and encourages class participation.

Professor Mineman, is awesome! He is very knowledgeable in Economics and teaches it at level where students understand. He's a fair grader, so if you work hard you will pass. Just do your hw and take notes, that's all you need for the Exams. By far one of the best teachers at HCC.

Although "I" made a C in his class he is a really good professor and somewhat funny. I took his 2nd start class so it was more material crammed into a shorter semester. You MUST attend class to do well. His lectures are very informative. I plan to take him for Micro. I highly recommend him.

Extremely easy and helpful professor. I would recommend taking his class, but just because I said that his easy. Doesn't mean you can just show up and put no effort into it and expect to get an A. Pay attention and take notes and you can make an A. Everything he discusses in class will be in the exams. There won't be any surprise.

Mineman is a very helpful professor. I took Macro and I was lost at first because I had no economics background but I read the first chapter in the book that was his first lecture and I quickly understood what he was talking about. After that I didn't read the book anymore. He was very clear and gave good examples of almost everything. Just listen!

Dude's one of the best Professor's I've ever taken at HCC. He gives real life examples and is very clear at the same time he makes the subject worth learning! Attendance is mandatory and he is very understanding. Participation plays a role in your grade and you have Aplia assignments that are due weekly. By far one of my best Professors!

Mr. Mineman is a very reasonable guy. TALK TO HIM IF YOU HAVE ISSUES!! All of his exams come from his LECTURES not the Aplia assignments. TAKE NOTES AND SHOW UP. If he sees you are participating he will take this into consideration when he gives you your final grade. Overall, he's a super reasonable and knowledgeable guy. He knows the field.

Great Teacher, he was very helpful throughout the course. Notes are very important, some of the questions on the tests are from the lectures he gives. The tests are not too hard. I'm not sure if i passed or failed yet but i failed it my own fault.

An interesting and enlightening course. He editorializes more than most, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. He's usually clear about what is fact and what is opinion or speculation. He is open to contrary opinions. If you make any effort at all you should not have trouble getting an A in this class.

I was fortunate enough to take Ed's Microeconomics class for his last semester at HCC. I can honestly say he was one of the best teachers I've ever had and definitely the best teacher I've had at HCC. Ed is extremely intelligent and has a down to earth sense of humor. Just finished his class today. He is my favourite professor. I took both micro and macro with him and I learn a lot from his lectures. I did not think I like economic until I took his class. He is smart, care for students, strict enough to make students study, funny. I wish all other teachers would be like him.

Best economic teacher in Houston. He is very knowledgeable. He has his own style of teaching, it was very great and interest. Actually, for me, I feel the rate of easiness is 5 but I give 4 to inspire student to study . AS long as you follow his lecture and use your brain, you should get high A. Business students must take his class!

I am a UT Austin graduate and I have to say, he was one of the best professors I have ever had. His classes, while super informative and engaging, are also full of practical business/economic/life advice. If you do the homework and study, I would say this is an easy A. If I could, I would definitely take one of his classes again.

If you suck at econ take him. He explains everything in it's simplest form. Two exams and a final. Maybe one pop quiz. You are required to purchase an online code to do the homework, but its worth it-- taking him than some hard teacher.

This professor is a really good teacher. He has an engaging and energetic lecturing style and always has interesting real-world stories to clarify the concepts. He does assign online homework and so you will have to pay $150 if you want to or not. The homework does help though but it's better to start early. Tests are difficult but not impossible.

Great professor! Explains all the concepts throughly. Barely had to look into the textbook because all concepts were grasped through the lecture. Willing to answer any question that you are confused about even if it's not directly related to the topic at hand. Exams and quizzes are easy A's if you grasp concepts. Definitely would recommend!

Amazing Professor,his lectures are easy to understand and are detailed. HE GIVES EXTRA CREDIT,honestly all i did was sit in the class and participate and it payed off i made 95's on the first 2 exams,I studied very little. Passionate about his subject. Watch his lecture videos, read the book, and study the review and you will pass with no problem (not to say the subject content is easy, but he makes it enjoyable instead of a daily grind).

At first, Microeconomic seemed like a difficult course for me to understand, but I am glad I took it with professor Mineman, has a unique way of teaching, he used examples from current events, popular TV shows, and even video games to make the complicated microeconomic principles relatable and easy to understand. Honestly the best HCC teacher I've ever had. Had no knowledge about economics coming in, but his way of making the lectures extremely entertaining made me learn so much and love the subject by the end. Tests are less on textbook info and more on lecture. Online assignments and quizzes. Pay attention in class and you'll be alright. Understanding and studying the material is on you though, stuff can easily get complex. Funny and tries his best to relate things to real world examples sometimes gets off topic but those are student favs teachers

Do not take this professor if you are going to study Economics. During the first meeting, he announced he tailored the class to economics applicable in business. You will miss key concepts which will be used later in your studies. HW is online and easy but a bit time-consuming. 70% of your grade is exams. All tests except the final are easy.

Very knowledgable professor with 10+ years of experience working in industry. Due to this experience Mr. Mineman gives fantastic real world examples and anecdotes when teaching new concepts and their applications. His test are not very math heavy and are rather easy. Would definitely recommend this course to a friend. Overall amazing teacher.

Summer online class. Don't procrastinate. Lockdown browser for all exams. If you plan to CHEAT your way through this course and DON'T CARE about learning don't take this class. He will give you the tools to succeed in this course, if you fail, it's all on YOU. Do your part and you will do fine. He makes himself available if you have questions.

He is very nice professor! All the questions in every exam are very straightforward if you pay attention to the review sheet and statistics that he gives to u! Im sure that it is very easy class to get an A!

Prof. Ed was amazing. Take him if you need an easy A. Three exams and light assignments due every week. He gives out reviews for exam. You just need to pay attention in the class. He teaches in a very interactive way and repeats things that are important for exam.

Don't rely on the textbook for exams. They're useful for the hw but use his review sheets for the exams bc he pulls from them. Tends to go on tangents of the economy. loves questions. 3 hw per chptr due Sunday. final is exam and short essay. can check grade on exam after testing if u stay behind. I liked him just make sure to study.

He is a good professor and his lectures are interesting. For exams, study the review sheet and show up when he reviews what would be on the test (sometimes he gave an answer or 2)!! The online homework was easy to get through. He is understanding and humorous, would recommend him if you don't mind taking tests in person.

Professor makes the course content engaging with real-world examples. Attendance is mandatory, but the material is manageable if you stay on top of it. unstuck AI was a great supplement for exam prep.

Took him for ECON 2301 and ECON 2302. 3 exams in total, which aren't too bad considering its what's covered in his lectures using his word documents which he also provides. We used Achieve for our assignments, which was a bit of a handful. Overall he's really hilarious and makes sure you understand what he's teaching. HIGHLY recommend!!

Amazing professor with easy-to-understand lectures. Very casual and understanding if you are not able to show up. Gives us review sheets that cover all of the relevant chapters throughout the course. Exams are usually 30~ questions with some bonus questions as well. Exams are extremely easy since most of it is covered in the review sheets.
