Ed Slover is a very hard grader. Wording for quizes and exams are bad. He also gave us a participation sheet to rate yourself only on the first week of school. Give yourself an A+ so you get an A+ for showing up for participation throughout the whole semester. I gave myself a B and now every participation I get a B even though I show up for class.
He is a cool teacher. He is understanding and helpful. He makes class fun and entertaining with his lame jokes and funny stories. It was my favorite class of the semester. If you come to class, take good notes you will get an A.
Professor Slover would always make the lectures really entertaining with his lame jokes and funny stories. He was a tough grader, but if you asked him for help he was willing to help. He is really friendly and one of my favorite professors.
One of my favorite professors my freshman year. Hilarious. Gives extra credit on occasion especially if you bring him his favorite kind of chip, Tobago flavor or something like that. You don't really use textbook, but if you skip class, you'll probably miss out on something important. Group projects. Gets annoyed easily by cell phone.
Slover was honestly the greatest professor I have ever had! He's incredibly funny and if you are interested in sports in any way you need to take his introduction to sports management class!
Incredible teacher. Inspirational, funny, and has experience to back up everything he teaches. You will learn A LOT from his class, all beneficial information. Wish I could take more from him.
Hawt. 10/10 would be his third wife.
Dayum, definitely the best professor on GCU's campus
Really enjoyed the class, was difficult but discussions were helpful and Ed was engaged and made it interesting, Tough Grader.
Dr. Slover is the best management professor in the college of business hands down. He is too funny for his own good and has incredibly real insights to share with his classes on many topics and often relates them to management. Take his class over Professor Oke. You will not regret it.
Dr. Slover is awesome!! He was by far my favorite professor of the semester. I loved his teaching style and humor so much that I managed to get his management class next semester and I can't wait! I highly recommend this professor, you won't regret it!
all he does is read power point and talk about his life. I liked him a lot he is really funny and if you do your project you will pass with an A. 3/4 of your grade is your group projects . I would recommend him to everyone
If you show up to class and pay attention you will be fine. He will occasionally call on you for a class answer, so stay attentive. His voice may be a bit low, so sit close to him.
Excellent prof. Gives good real-life examples of theories.
Ed Slover is an amazing professor. He integrates real world applications to almost all of the content. He engages class consistently throughout the year and learns the names of almost all of the students. He is responsive and helpful to questions in the forums. He makes something as simple as management fun. Do all that you can to take this class.
He was amazing. He knew everyones name, even if you've never talked to him before. He did take attendance, but his class was fun to be in. He is a great person and teacher. He is understanding and really does care. He made my first semester in college more enjoyable.
Changes his hair & and facial hair too much, but a cool dude. 10/10 recommend!!!!!! The class in general is a tough class, but he makes it fun. Must study a lot if you want to do well!
Give great feedback. Love his life lessons. Exams are hard so maybe study more than I did and go to tutoring. Most essays he lets you do them with a group.
Slover is hilarious and makes all his lectures interesting. MGT420 is a hard class but he makes it easier by making most assignments group projects.
Very very intelligent and truly cares about his students. Lectures in a way that keeps the class engaged (even through a 4 hour class) and wanting to learn. Awesome professor.
Slover is a great guy and truly makes the classes he teaches interesting in fun. He wants you to succeed, so make sure you ask him if you need anything!
Slover is a great professor who uses his personal experience in management to explain his lectures. He uses powerpoints for note taking, but make sure you also take your own notes from the textbook because exams are tough. He also cares a lot about participation, and he will also call on random people to answer questions, so pay attention.
Ed is a great teacher. He makes sure you do your best. He also hepls you out , and is encouring.
Professor Slovic was one of the best professor for school thanks professor from Lawrence Powell
Awesome caring teacher, hilarious sarcastic personality, gives good example from his personal experiences, extremely personable. He is a hottie.
Funny teacher but ridiculous grader. Tests are hard as well as group projects. You think you did excellent and then bam you get a bad grade back. Hard teacher, if you are taking this class just for credit would not reccomend him.
By far the best professor I have ever had. He makes a difficult class one that you want to attend. He uses his personal experience to make the content make sense to you. Hilarious and very timely with getting grading done extremely fast. Easily accessible outside of class and always willing to help if you just ask for it. He makes the class fun!
Best teacher at GCU, no doubt. His lectures are hilarious and does does a get job at applying the powerpoint information to real life situations. Wish he could teach all of my classes. This class is hard and has a lot of information to it, so make sure you get a good teacher like professor Slover.
Great professor! MGT420 is a tough class with a challenging midterm and final because it has a lot of vocab. However, he tries his best to make the class interesting. He loves talking about sports so most guys love him for this. If the class is small he will be good with participation but if its a huge lecture expect not to get full points.
Great professor. Keeps class interesting with stories and fun examples.
Ed was an excellent professor, I was actually excited to go to his class every day! His lectures were entertaining and engaging; I was struggling with some of the tests and went into his office hours for help. Slover was reassuring and gave me helpful tips to improve my grade and handle the massive amounts of material the course covers.
Cool guy, show up and put in the work
Only take Dr. Slover, do not take ori or anyone else. Plain and simple. If the only option is a 7am, do it. He is the best lecturer and has a lot of personal anecdotes from his time as a regional vp for 24 hr fitness.
He has been my favorite business professor so far. He is so passionate about students and business, and any student who takes his class will not regret it, and they will learn practical principles that will remain with them for a long time. I highly recommend this professor.
Despite the heavy workload, Dr. Slover made this class very enjoyable. If you get to class early, he will typically make small talk with you before the rest of the class shows up. He is very well respected and if you take his class you will understand why. Read the chapters in the book before exams, the power points are great but not enough to pass
He is the best professor I've ever had. He made me realize marketing was for sure what I wanted to major in, and he is extremely personable. His lectures are really engaging, and he uses a lot of examples from personal experience.
Doc Slover is a great Professor! That does not mean the class is easy - he makes you work for it, but he is more than willing to help. To do well on the exams, read the chapters and take the self tests. If you do that and work hard on your group projects, the class is not too bad. A lot of what Ed taught me has helped me in other classes.
Best professor ever. Hilarious, genuine and fun to be in class with. Lectures are interesting and he makes them super fun. Had him for MGT-420 and although the class is one of the hardest classes I have ever had, I enjoyed it and his teaching.
Gives good informative lectures. Relates personal life experiences to content. Gives good feedback on how to improve papers. Would definitely take again.
I took management 420 over the summer and had an amazing time. Ed really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He also uses lots of practical examples to help his students better understand the content.
Was an excellent professor and would take another course that he teaches. His style is very interactive and lectures are informational. He is tough with grading but overall very good class and leave feeling like you learned something.
I very much enjoyed taking MGT 420 with Ed, he's very relatable and does a great job of teaching from personal experience in the management world. He's also a great person to talk to about life and aspirations, very intelligent and hilarious. Would absolutley take him again!
Ed is amazing! I have really enjoyed having him as my instructor. He is very easy going and very easy to work with. At no point did I every feel like I was getting death by power point. He has a very special way of presenting the course materials so that you can very easily follow along and relate it to something in life so info is retainable.
Dr. Slover is one of the best professors I have had. He truly cares about his students. Within the first week he had most of the class's names memorized. He was constantly asking us how to shape the class to best support what we wanted out of it. He did a great job of engaging us in lectures and giving real world examples.
Ed was a great Professor. He gifted participation to his students as long as you sign in to class and look engaged you will be fine. His tests are hard I highly recommend going over the slides and reading the book as long as you do that you will do fine. Lastly, pick a good group for the group projects they are worth 40% of your grade.
He is literally the funniest prof I had and the class was not boring at all
Dr. Slover is one of the best professors I have had and I can't imagine taking this course with someone else. He gives very engaging lectures and cares about his students. The class is a lot of material and the exams are difficult, but he does his best to make sure you succeed.
O captain my captain. Ed Slover. Take him. You will bond over the common enemy of the course. You think the class is dumb, he thinks it has a lot of flaws, you meet in the middle and he prepares you for what you need to know in the real world first, the test second. Tests? They suck. Thank Wiley, not Ed. He does his best to help and make it fun
Dr. Slover is by far the best professor I have had in my six semesters of college. He has an amazing understanding of the course material and effectively relates all of it to real-world applications. He makes you earn the grade for the class, but if you show up, pay attention, and study then you will do fine.
He is an amazing professor. There is always great effort in making everyone laugh and shows respect to everyone. This course was by far the most difficult course I have ever taken, and he grades less harshly on projects because the tests suck. An A is certainly possible, it just depends on the amount of work you are willing to put in the class.
He was very funny and engaged. He was also very helpful when I visited him during office hours. I would highly recommend him.
Ed is easily the best professor I have ever had. He somehow made MGT420 a class I looked forward to everyday. Always willing to give strong feedback or help a student in need. Highly recommend going to his office hours!
Took his class last year for org behavior and my only regret is that i dont get to take his class again. Every wonder what the perfect professor was like? Take a Ed Slover. Every want to look forward to class everday. Take Ed Slover! Ever wanted to learn everything about a subject? Well, dont think I need to say it thrice.
Professor Solver is one of the best professors I have ever had. While Organizational Management and Behavior is a hard class, he does his best to make it as painless as possible. He posts all powerpoints, exam study guides, and Kahoot Reviews online ahead of time. These will be your best friend. I would happily take him again.
Ed was definitely my favorite professor so far. He made a class that I assumed would be tedious into a class I looked forward to twice a week. Absolutely hilarious and really engages students during lectures. I wish he taught some of my future classes so I could have him again!!
He has been my favorite professor at GCU so far! I have never had a teacher care so much about their students success, he's understanding and responsive. He makes the class fun and enjoyable and cares about his students on a deeper level. 10/10 recommend!
his class is a mgt-420 it is not easy but definitely worth taking. Dr. Slover is by far my favorite professor after 3 years of attending GCU. Idk if u still remember me, i'm Andy hahaha I fricking loved your class so so much!!!
Ed is an excellent professor who cares about his students and knows what he's talking about. He's hilarious, very entertaining, and keeps the class engaged and interested even in lecture. If you're a traditional learner Slover will definitely bring a new way of learning to you.
Ed is literally the GOAT. He's super funny and makes coming to class enjoyable. You learn a lot in his class and he doesn't over-complicate things. His MKT 315 class is decently easy to get a good grade in!
Professor Slover is the best there is! I seriously have not had a better Professor at GCU. This class is difficult, but Prof. Slover makes it interesting. He is very knowledgeable, understanding, and inspiring.
The Haters will Hate. Ed Slover is one of the G.O.A.T's at GCU. The man has practical real world experience in business and managing. Hes a family man and truly cares for the well being and academics of his students. He explains things thoroughly and is always accessible if help is needed. If you follow his leadership you will pass the class.
Ed was a pretty dope professor. Definitely recommend him he is a great communicator and makes the content easy to understand.
Ed Slover made this class extremely meaningful and more understandable. His real life examples and experience helped me grasp a better understanding of what was being taught. Highly recommend taking him for this class as well as Managing Business Communication and Change (MGT-325).
Really funny professor and nice guy, who is pretty understanding. He will call you out in class and know you by name. His class was enjoyable but still a lecture so it seems to drag on a little. Group project heavy. Still have to do well on work to get a good grade.
Easily the best professor at GCU. I had him for MGT 325 and he was the easiest grader. He was funny and made going to class not a drag at all! Super nice and caring guy, I wish I could take him again and again. I strongly suggest anyone looking for an easy and fun professor to take Ed!
Slover is a fan favorite. He is super cool and funny and really goes out of his way to make sure that everyone understands the material. He is very accessible outside of class and is dedicated to his students in and out of the classroom. He is nothing short of amazing. 10/10
He made the class fun to attend! I thought he ran through the material a little too quickly but overall it was a good experience. You will be doing a lot of group projects so make sure you get a good group. Dont hesitate to change seating if you have to. I noticed several people did exactly that.
Ed is the man. He makes the material much more easier to understand through real life examples. He worked at a chain of gyms in the Phoenix area for many years so he can apply his own knowledge to this class. There are a few group projects so make sure you choose the right classmates.
This is the best professor I have had at GCU thus far. He is super funny and engages class in a fun away by using his personal stories and experiences to better understand material. I always enjoyed going to his class.
Ed Slover is easily the best professor on campus. He is so funny and relates to students. He even has a list of "slang" students have told him in the past. His lectures are great and involve students. If you have MGT325 or MGT420, please do yourself a favor and take him. Even if it's at 7 am, it will be worth it. He makes you want to go class!
This was the most laid back chill professor I've had so far. This class was a cakewalk. He lets you out early everyday and most of the assignment are easy group projects, midterm no final. If you get the opportunity to take his class I would. I'm taking his 7am class next semester just so I can have him again over another professor.
Ed is my favorite professor at GCU! I have taken every class he teaches and I have absolutely loved him. If you have the option to join his class, do it - even if it's a 7am.
Professor Ed is a Gem. Get to know him he is amazing! Not gonna lie, the midterm and final were both really hard. I got a 78% on both tests and studied really hard on both of them. Ed has to be the best teacher for MGT-420, but even still, the tests are killer and I am an honors student who takes my grades seriously. There are a lot of CLC's too!
Ed is one of my favorite professors at the school - makes sense that he's so well-respected. He uses a good mixture of lectures and personal stories/examples. However, the tests are incredibly difficult, so be ready to study and KNOW your stuff. Would definitely take Ed again, he is knowledgeable and wants you to do well. (+ lots of group projects)
Great teacher! Very personable and wants to make things easy for his students. Usually makes time for homework in class and definitely wants to do what he can for you to succeed. You won't just learn about the course topic, he'll teach you things you need to know for life.
Honestly professor Slover is a personable guy and genuinely cares about his students. However, I really did not learn much in his class at all. If you want to hear about his ex-wife, his podcast, or nutrition advice then take his class. I just felt like going to class was a waste of time. GCU just generally does not have very good professors.
Dawg this prof is the all time greatest prof that GCU has. Would recommend that you take this class any chance you have. I randomly got placed into this class for Mgt-420 and then wrapped my entire schedule around getting him again in the future. His lectures are very personable and ad real life connection to the materials taught in class. 10/10
Slover is fantastic. His lectures are engaging and he adds his own spin and experiences to apply topics to real-world scenarios. Overall very understanding and patient with students. He does not make expectations for assignments clearly known during class time, but answers questions and provides comprehensive rubrics for assignments.
Professor Slover is one of the funniest, most down-to-earth professors GCU has to offer. His class was very entertaining with his antics but he still prioritized learning. Even tho I didnt receive the highest grade (there were 2 big tests & I am a horrible test taker), I still feel like I learned a lot & will apply that knowledge for years to come.
Dr. Slover is an absolute gem. He has years of industry experience and is a great storyteller. MGT-422HN would have been such a boring and difficult class with any other professor. Slover is GOATED. Do not pass up the chance to take him.
Slover cares about his students more then most professors I have ever had. He has lots of relevant real life experience that he discusses in order to make lectures very interesting. Slover is someone I could definitely see going to for advice even after college. Do whatever it takes to have him as your professor.
By far one of the best professors I have ever had. The class is lecture heavy, but it doesn't feel like it. He makes all the content interesting and has a lot of real life experience. Extremely kind to all of his students and I wish I could take more of his classes.
Dr. Slover showed a lot of care and concern for his students. His lectures were entertaining and we did some activities throughout the semesters, so it made my 7 am class my most enjoyable class. I wish I could take him again. If you have the opportunity, he is worth it!
Dr. Slover is the best. MGT-420 is a project heavy class; however, he makes things reasonable and understandable. I wish I could take all my classes with him (definitely worth a 7am). You would never know the class was lecture heavy because he doesn't make it feel as if. His lectures are super entertaining and great for real world experience!
He's a great person and professor. Any person can teach a curriculum, but not everyone can teach the curriculum and make it fun and well understood by the students. He has so much knowledge that goes far passed what the curriculum will teach you.
Incredible. Best teacher I have ever had. Take his classes no matter what.
Great Professor! Just make sure you study for the midterm and final exam.
he talks about his personal life a lot which is more interesting than the material. the tests are hard so you have to read a lot on your own. all group projects so get a good group of people because he's a very particular grader
Professor Slover is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is very engaging with his lectures and makes the content very easy to understand. I had MGT 420 at 7am, and I expected only half the class to keep coming after the first week, but hes such a great teacher that probably 90% of the class comes every time.
Incredible professor, 100% would take again. made the class very enjoyable!
Professor Slover was one of, if not the best professors I've ever had. He's an amazing lecturer and has a variety of ways to keep students engaged and learning. He's also very funny and genuinely cares about his students. The mid-term and final are difficult and require a lot of studying, but I recommend his class to everyone.
I loved having professor Slover! His lectures were really material-heavy but he made it interesting. He truly cares about his students- even beyond the classroom. Majority of assignments are CLC's which isn't the best, but he is a reasonable grader. The exams are super difficult. Highly recommend this professor.
Ed Solver is a great professor! He teaches the material well and is nice. He lets us out early which is really nice. For quizzes, he would allow us to take them as a class and would give us the answers. I would definitely recommend him!
Professor Slover engaged the classroom with personal stories and examples that helped us understand the material in the real world. He made the class entertaining and the curriculum come to life. He did not give clear feedback on assignments but he truly wanted his students to succeed.
This class is usually pretty challenging, but Professor Slover makes it so fun! I took a 7am for his class and showed up because he made it worth it! He is super funny and works with his students if you ask for help. He also gives the option to split up long essays into group assignments to give his students less work. Great guy!
Professor Slover is my favorite professor by far! He made class very enjoyable and taught the material in a way that was easier to understand. The exams are very difficult, so be prepared to study a lot for them. Most of his projects are CLC's, so as long as you have good group members everything else should be easy!
Slover is a great guy and a good professor. This class is usually super hard and he generally made it really easy. I will say I don't think I learned a single thing in the class because it's so easy, but I would rather that than fail the class. He does truly care about his students! Beware the midterm and final are super tough!
Amazing teacher! Clearly has a passion for teaching and knows how to get the class engaged with the lectures. Gives great advice and genuinely cares for his students. The class content in general was very easy. Make sure to pay attention and show up the class. There is both a midterm and final that are fairly easy.
Professor Slover is a great instructor however exams are heavy; you will have to study hard. He gave us the option to complete most of the assignments/papers in groups so choose your team members wisely. Thus, attendance was mandatory, but class was never boring!
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. I honestly felt very privileged to take a class with him. He cares about his students, challenges/engages them well, provides good feedback, and includes tons of real-world examples to explain course concepts (which is super helpful as some of the content can get overwhelming). Absolutely fantastic!
Only complaint is that sometimes we did a lot of peer discussion that felt awkward and forced. Lectures were like attending a TED talk in the best way. Assignments were fair but frequent
