Tavss is an awesome professor. He puts a lot of time and effort into his lectures study guides. Do ALL the practice exam problems he puts online. The study guides practice exams are very helpful and essential to get a good grade. You can skip the book problems (not helpful) and skim the readings but COMPLETE ALL PRACTICE EXAMS ONLINE!

The best professor in the Chem department at RU! He goes above and beyond for his students and will stop at nothing to help you succeed. The hard thing about Chem 2 is that he doesn't make the exams. Kimmel does, (and they are very tricky). Do all Tavvs practice problems and you should be ready to tackle anything!

Edward J Tavss is perhaps the best chemistry professor in the country... The universe? Maybe... He is funny and he makes sure that his students understand every single concept before he can even think about going to the next slide. Is it worth going to Cook/Douglass three times a day for an hour? Not one bit... However Tavss uses a sign-in sheet.

Dr. Tavss is one of the most inspirational people that I have ever come across. His lectures have helped me develop into the person I am today. After taking this class, however, I feel as though I will never experience the sense of ecstasy and glee that I felt when I heard Edward Jacob Tavss speak. Dr. Tavss has become a lifelong mentor and friend

A very special teacher and guy. As millions already know, he is the best prof at Rutgers because he will make it his mission that you succeed. All other Chem teachers are surly chuds. Dr. T is a mench. Other teachers are egomaniacs, Dr. T has a vox populi. Other teachers are dour, Dr. T will bust you up like the 3 stooges. Go to class and laugh

not sure why Professor Tavvs gets great reviews for his lectures. He is a very sweet guy but his lectures were not for me. If you see on his syllabus, his notes are very in depth with a lot of problems that are not necessary (70+ pages). Tavss does put in a lot of effort and do his practice probs! I Prefer Guerra or Kimmel.

Great professor! The class itself is difficult but he provides you with a lot of extra materials that other professors dont. Very sweet guy and tries to crack a joke every once in a while.

Dr. Tavss has a special place in my heart. He loves chemistry as much as he loves teaching, and will go the extra mile for his students. To do well, read the textbook, his notes, and complete all of his problem packets. Do attend his office hours as well; he is very insightful and has more time to break down the material further.

Dr. Tavvs is a small glistening sliver of hope in this scarlet hell that is Rutgers University. 1 in 1000 teachers gives a crap in this school and Dr. Tavvs is that one teacher. It is with great respect that I write this review. But if he doesnt fit in his schedule you could still attend his lectures / become his friend.

Dr. Tavss is a Rutgers legend. He is retired but you can find ALL the students in gen chem1 and 2 using his notes to this DAY! in his notes, he explains things so clearly and will step by step solve problems to help students build the ability to solve more challenging problems on their own. He is the only reason I learned any chemistry at all!
